In town for my middle daughter cheerleading competition. We stayed near the airport and struggled to find a lunch spot anywhere. We stumbled across this hole in the wall pizza joint. It was hard to find as it is tucked behind the planet fitness and not visible from the road or main parking lot. The kids and I got a large chEddie pizza to split. As far as flavor it was very good. I've been to Indianapolis a few tones and have tried a couple of the higher rated pizza establishments. I honestly would rate this taste just below Bazbeaux and ahead of jockamo upper crust pizza. The pizza itself is served in square thin style slices. However it does have a good thickness to it and a nice crispy crust. The inside was spacious and pretty well kept. As stated it is a hole In the wall so not exactly fine dining. But more then adequate enough for a pizza joint. All in all glad we accidentally stumbled across this place (almost could t find it). The only thing keeping the rating from being a 5 star rating is my wife got the spaghetti i and she did not like it. I tried it And it was very lacking. So try the pizza! The pizza tastes great!

I am really disappointed. I got the beef Stromboli and this picture says it all. Everything was very processed. My husband came here a year or so ago, and he felt like there was no more love in the food. It's pizza come on... makes me sad when small businesses lack this hard

We went back for a Valentine's Day date. Phil was our server again (awesome!)…read more We had the lasagna and shrimp pesto pasta special with a side of brussel sprouts and we both had their house salad + appetizer of cheesy garlic bread and marinara. While I don't think we should get an appetizer again because it was so much food, the marinara that can with the cheesy garlic bread was phenomenal. Both of our entrees were delicious! A ton of food. I wish we could have taken some home, but we're going to a show after. Brussel sprouts were to die for.... So good. Love the glaze they put on them. Again, I think we could have been fine with just our entrees and salads, but all the food we tried was so delicious - I am really glad we did. We may not make it back as often as I would like, but we love the ambiance, service, and food. This is a special place for us and we hope to share it with others.

Generally a "decent" experience overalls with some negative issues intermixed with some positives…read more The calamari was rubbery to the point where we could not enjoy eating it but our server told us the manager took it off our bill. The entrees (the monkfish special and the carbonara) were good but not great. I did appreciate the crispy, smoky pancetta in the carbonara but the monkfish had a somewhat mushy texture rather than the he firmness we would normally expect. The biggest issue, though, was the check. The calamari never came off, the meatballs for the children's pasta were more expensive than what was on the menu, and we were charged for an extra calamari dipping sauce that we did not ask for. Most of these problems were fixed but the whole thing illustrated a lack of attention to detail and an appearance of up-charging the customer in any way possible. Overall: Food: fair 4/5 Service: decent 3.5/5 Pricing: suspicious 2/5

Very romantic space with low lighting and cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a date!…read more I was here for a conference and for our one fancy night out we settled on this (there seems to be an abundance of Italian restaurants out here). Service was good and we were seated immediately and checked in on at a good pace throughout the night. We ordered the... Burrata Caprese 5/5 - Just get it. Get it. This was so good. We shared this as an appetizer and it was a great start. Short Rib Ravioli 5/5 - This was so good. Would definitely order again, flavor was just there and showing up. Shrimp Scampi 4/5 The shrimp was good, however didn't leave much of an impression for us. It could also be just because the range of different flavors we got this just seemed pretty ok. Dessert!!! We shared a cappuccino cheesecake and it was actually really really good. Was super tempted to get the tiramisu but we were feeling for something new and this didn't disappoint. Since we did it family style we thought the price was really reasonable and if you were visit for a late lunch or early dinner the area looks like a great place to walk and peruse at the little shops.

Oh my gosh... I have no words for how good this place is. BEST PASTA IN INDY! Me and my friends…read moreshared the baked goat cheese appetizer which was divine (i don't even really like goat cheese and it was so good). The bread was also insanely soft! We asked for more bread and they gave it free of charge. I ordered the Della Casa and it was the best plate of pasta I've ever eaten. The flavors melted together in a creamy tomato sauce with the perfect amount of spice. It was genuinely the best sauce for a seafood pasta and the shrimp and noodles were both cooked properly and to perfection. Nothing was overcooked. Every bite was like heaven. I tried my friend's pastas as well and the Tortellacci was suprisingly so tasty. The amount of lemon they add in the sauce pairs so nicely with the cheeses they used. I say "surprisingly so tasty" because to the naked eye it doesn't look that special but when you take a bite your eyes get big because it's so good lol. The chicken was also insanely tender!!! I do wish the service was a little better. I feel like our waiter forgot about us and we barely got checked on during our time there, but the food made up for it. Seriously this is the best italian food I've ever eaten and I never rave about pasta. I think about the Della Casa often. I can't wait to go back!

What a perfect excuse to go back and verify that my first experience was no fluke! They impressed again with what could be the best calamari fritti I have ever had. The calamari itself was melt in your mouth tender and the breading was both light and flavorful. The lemon herb aioli? On point! The first time I ate there, I ordered the branzino - which was amazing. Tender, flaky, and mild with the perfect crispiness in the exterior. Everyone who ordered it on this second visit raved about it. For my second visit, I branched out to the carbonara which was as beautiful on the palate as it looked in the bowl. A perfect crunchiness of the pancetta counterbalanced the tenderness of the pasta which was prepared to a perfect al dente. I reviewed a carbonara from a different restaurant earlier this year and now have an apples to apples comparison that heavily favors Vicino. Service was outstanding despite being very busy that evening and the interior had a nice modern chic appearance - if that matters to you. What matters to me is the food and Vicino is now 2 for 2 in providing an experience that will definitely bring me back again!

They offer a great selection of brunch cocktails and mocktails, plus a variety of brunch options, including appetizers and sweeter dishes. However, the pasta choices are only rigatoni or spaghetti. From the pictures yes they really do have a pizza oven, which is fantastic The calamari was great, especially because it contained tentacles. However, at this price point, the plate was pathetically filled with barely anything. So they're charging high prices, trying to present themselves as a great place to be, and yet are feeding you less than the competitors out there. Our server was very nice, however did not know what tentacles were. Our server was slightly attentive but slow. The two pasta dishes we ordered were very disappointing. The sauce tasted like they came out of a jar and they were definitely not homemade or made from scratch in any way shape or form. The cheese is as well tasted like they came out of a bag and were not shaved or cut fresh. Unfortunately, I can even do the simple pasta better at home. Further, the alla Norma I was playing a game of trying to find the eggplant. My partner got the Bolognese and you could not find any meat in it whatsoever. It was very disappointing. By the time we left the place was packed, so maybe they are doing something right but frankly from three dishes, this was a huge disappointment and frankly a waste of money There are lots of other Italian places in the fishers and Carmel areas please go there.
