Passport Restaurants is one of the best restaurants in Beverly. It's a really beautiful restaurant, with white tablecloths, flowers at every corner, and nice jazz music. Really ideal ambiance. I like everything I've tried here, which has included the passport grilled chicken sandwich, burger, fries, power bowl, and house-broth ramyeon. They have so many options, anyone in your party would be happy with their selection of seafood, meat, vegetarian, pasta & more options. I ordered their harvest bowl which was really delicious, however the steak comes cold and i was charged $3 for not a lot of sweet potato, I would have preferred more sweet potato. I have now dined in once to get their house-broth ramyeon which is absolutely delicious. The food was good, but the menu is so large that I wonder if a smaller menu would allow the food offered to be great. Lots of variety which is nice when you don't really know what you're craving. Service is always good (though went during restaurant week and weren't offered the restaurant week menu so web. I overheard another table get it I was a little peeved). Food always tastes fresh and I like the variety. With having such a wide menu of offerings though, nothing seems to have the "umph" factor to push it to be something "special". Have visited twice but neither dish or any of the appetizers I've had have made me think "this is it, can't get this anywhere else" so not really a 5 star for me. Five of us had lunch there, 9/27/25. The menu is enormous, and we did take a while to choose among so many options. Interesting variations. Our server was such a sweet young fellow, very funny, and very helpful. He was by himself at the front of the restaurant. Four of us received our meals within 15 minutes or so. But mine.... the young man came back another 10 minutes and said that the kitchen informed him that, for my order, they didn't have enough of an esssential ingredient. About 25 minutes had now passed since we ordered. I did receive my new order, but my friends were well finished before I was. I add another 7 minutes to my wait time, not bad at all, but the total wait for my was 25 + 15 + 7 minutes. Think I was pleased? The fault did not lie with our server. He was very good, and his humor and attentiveness made a difference. The fault lies, obviously, in the kitchen. read more

I ordered a Shrimp Scampi meal for my husband through DoorDash this evening. After a 30-minute delivery delay, I found the meal in the cold outside the front door, despite my explicit instructions to deliver it to a more accessible door off of my porch. My husband was quite hungry by this time!. When I saw the small, very light box in the bag, I knew it was a rather scant, childsized almost, portion. I looked to see if there was any fresh bread or a roll in the bag, but there was not! I would have questioned it right away, but my husband was starved, so I slid the contents of the box on his plate, and he soon noticed there were NO SHRIMP in the Shrimp Scampi -- not a one! This was a totally UNACCEPTABLE situation. I really want this place to succeed. The restaurant's concept is creative, the renovation is beautiful and the menu is comprehensive. Think Cheesecake Factory long, but better. Admittedly, I was confused walking in. We thought we were walking into a Vietnamese Pho Restaurant, but upon arrival we learned Passport came in and also offered Pho and Raymen, so we said why not. The staff was really nice and trying hard, so I give them a ton of credit. So why not 5 stars and only 3? Its' friday night and they just didn't have enough staff in the front or the back of the house. Everything just took too long. The greeting, the ordering, the appetizer, the entrees. Help is hard to find, I get it. We ordered 3 entrees. 2 came out 15 minutes apart, and the 3rd never made it to the table. We asked that they just make it to-go, which they did. The food that did arrive was pretty good, but you've got to land the whole experience and tonight was not the night. I will give it a few months and try again. read more

Pretty good restaurant. Chicken wings were really good and the fried rice. Bi bim pap was ok I like the stone pot and the sizzle when it comes to that but this one was served in a dish and colder. I hate to write such a terrible review but this was up there with the worst of all time. Dined in tonight for unlimited sushi. We were the only people there. Ordered a white sangria and got a cup of what tasted like orange juice. Ordered a coke. Got a Pepsi, at least tell me. Asked the waitress what Kim bap is and she told us she's not Asian and doesn't know. Ordered some sushi and the smell of the fish was equally as bad as the taste. They do notify you they charge for leftovers but it was clear we didn't like our meal. The waitress told us she was going to charge us so we told her we didn't like it. She said we would have to talk to the manager. After 20 minutes no one came over but waitress came back and said the chef trained in Japan and we just don't like her style. We ordered Oreo mouse and got a cake. We ordered cheesecake and it was frozen. Finally a woman who I assume is the manager came over and again told us again that we don't like her style. Such a fantastic place to add to the North Shore food scene! A Korean restaurant just makes sense in our beloved fishing village Gloucester. We ordered the Tteokbokki extra spicy. It's a street-food level dish but they made it extra fancy! The rice cake texture is phenomenal ! Make sure you add the Ramyun noodle! The Bulgogi waffle fries is very good. And the fried chicken, my man. This is not a fried chicken joint but I will totally comeback just for the fried chicken. Dining room was comfortable, definitely doable in a wheel chair which is a plus. Today I ordered a potato and cheese corn dog and halfway through it started to smell fishy and I noticed a white fish smelling like sausage. I think it would be really important to note that it comes with a fish sausage on the menu incase of allergies. I think the people who work there are very friendly, the only other thing I've ordered is the kimchi tacos, not my favorite, they were served on hard corn tortilla shells that should have been cooked first. The filling was great but would be better served on soft heated corn tortillas. I think once they workout all the kinks everything will be great. I would go back again. read more

Our group of five, from Arizona, Colorado, Vermont and Denmark, found out about Gangnam from a brochure in the hotel lobby. It was a little difficult to locate after dark because the sign on the outside of the building was not illuminated, but once we found it we were delighted with the warm, intimate dining room and especially with our knowledgeable and attentive server. We had a hankering for Korean while we were in the area and found this place. Quite an extensive menu of Korean options. Much more than shown in the pics of the menu on the wall. The food is delicious! I ordered the bulgogi, some kimchi, and an order of wings. I thought it was all delicious. I think the restaurant is still finding itself, a bit--a few items were out of stock, but I had no issue finding another item that interested me. also, the cook (owner?) is so kind and even came to our table when my companion didn't enjoy her dish as much. I think this place is great--I was a bit surprised at the white tablecloths, as it seems a bit fancy for the venue, but I rolled with it. I hope it becomes a mainstay of Gloucester stops. I love this Korean restaurant. One of my favorite Korean dishes is Kimbab, and theirs is fabulous. Their Kimchi is expensive but authentic - highly recommended. The mandu is great, as is the Dak Galbi. read more

So my son and I finally got to stop in here. Staff is very nice and accommodating. I do think they need to figure out what they want to do with the place. It's a mash of take out and then tables with table clothes for fine dining. Not a great vibe but they will get there! Food was really really good. We loved the wings, crunchy and tasty. Gangnam Gloucester is exceptional. It is exactly the kind of restaurant my wife and I look for. Family run and with true passion and love going into the dishes. We started eating here a few months ago and they did not have the seating and dishes set up. Now there is fresh paint, linen tablecloths and new chairs. It is comfortable, quiet, unique and above all delicious. I encourage locals to make it a regular stop. We need to support local businesses like this!
