Plenty of parking available +got to the restaurant 11:45am on Sunday and was seated right away but the restaurant was packed and there was a wait little past noon so come early! +comes with complimentary salad and bread +we ordered the following: Gizzard confit: 3/5 - it was good but felt like it could be better. The gizzard was good but felt like it could have used some black pepper or herbs. Crab gratin 3/5 - be Chanel sauce was rich and heavy on flavor. Didn't dislike it but one and done. Won't be ordering again Tarako spaghetti 5/5 - I loveeee mentaiko / tarako spaghetti and they do it right here. This spaghetti isn't cream based but used garlic butter so it don't kill the codroe flavor and the garlic enhanced the flavor. Would order again! Mushroom bacon spaghetti 3/5 - I really wanted to like this one because I love spoon house's mushroom clam one but didn't love this one. Maybe it's because I'm not a bacon person and unlike spoonhouse it doesn't have the umami since it lacked the depth in broth from clam. I was bummed bout this one. Arrabiata 3/5 - I only had small bite of this but the tomato sauce isn't typical tomato sauce. Wasn't bad but didn't love it either. I've wanted to try Pasta E Pasta in Little Tokyo for several years--I happened to be in the South Bay and remembered that they had expanded down here, so finally got to have a meal. This location is on the smaller size, but nothing felt too tight or packed. We were seated immediately around 1PM on a Friday and got our food within around 20 minutes. Everything was fresh and very clearly cooked to order (I did think a few leaves on the salad were a bit wilty but it didn't bother me too much). The food was delicious! I ordered the ragu and thought it was just so rich and hearty, and exactly what I was looking for in a comfort meal. The beef pieces were super flavorful and tender. The portion was huge too! My husband got their famous uni pasta and also loved it. He would recommend it to any uni fans. All dishes come with a side salad and piece of bread. The pasta dishes are on the pricier side ($20-$30 per dish) but really are delicious and extremely filling--we saw several people ask for to go boxes. Nothing but Perfection at pasta e pasta, and I don't say this lightly. Move over spoon house, move over unico tokyo pasta, a new king of Japanese pasta is in town. It's a small store in a trip mall next to the tokyo central. Parking is very easy to find. Seats are limited so reserve or get here early, or you can expect a 30 minute or more depending on how many people are in front of you. It's a small space so not too suited for parties over 8. Service was impeccable and staff members were very kind. Food was hot and out quickly. But the best part really is the level of the food. I think a bad pasta leaves you feeling fat and bloated. And though these pastas surely have plenty of oil and cheese in them, the flavors are balanced so well and it captures you in the first bite. We got the crab gratin, seafood pasta, bolognese, and mentai cream pasta. The seafood gratin was nutty and had plenty of umami. The parsley on top gave the extra freshness. Despite so much cheese in this dish I didn't think it was heavy at all because of the nuttiness of the roasted breadcrumbs. Perfect dish. Mentai cream pasta was a little spicy, very creamy and well seasoned. 10/10 no notes. Bolognese had lots of meat, slightly sweet tomato sauce from the San marzano tomatoes. 10/10 no notes. The seafood pasta was also great. Seafood was tender. All pastas came at the same perfect al dente doneness. Really, if you're coming here the question isn't what's good, it's what you're in the mood for because everything will be to spec and more. read more

Very good pasta. It looks like they use Barilla pasta. I got the carbonara and loved it. Super creamy. My husband ordered the ragu but got the bolognese instead. The waiter wrote down the wrong order but they fixed it right away and let us keep the bolognese. My husband liked the ragu way better as he didn't like the eggplant in the bolognese. We came on a Friday before 6 and was able to get seated right away. But after 6pm it got busy quick! Place is kinda small so I say groups of 4 or less is probably best. read more

Imagine my sheer joy when Pasta E Pasta decided to expand to Torrance. For those who don't know, Pasta E Pasta is probably one of the best Japanese pasta places out there. Eat here before it gets too popular. Located next to Tokyo Central on PCH, you can check in and shop next door if the line's too long. We were fortunately seated within 5 minutes despite all the tables being full. Anyway, Uni pasta is classically good, and the creaminess of the sauce isn't overpowering. This is a crowd favorite for good reason. My wife and I also shared a salmon spinach cream pasta which was creamier and heavier but still pretty good! My parents got a seafood pasta and tuna tomato sauce like pasta which both looked pretty good. So in case you don't know, you gotta rotate through the menu to experience all the deliciousness Pasta E Pasta has to offer. Everything is cooked well and seasoned well and sauced well, I have zero complaints. Pasta E Pasta is now in the South Bay! This restaurant specializes in Italian style pasta with a Japanese twist. Being a fan of Japanese spaghetti, I was so happy to see this spot open in Torrance yesterday! They are currently in their soft opening phase but already serving many of their classic dishes such as Uni Pasta, Mentai Cream Japanese Style Pasta, Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti and Carbonara. Pasta prices range from $18 to $25. All of their pastas are served with bread and salad. For my first visit, I got Carbonara to-go. I was pleasantly surprised that they included the salad and bread roll with my to-go order. The Carbonara serving was generous with several strips of bacon. I really enjoyed the flavor of the carbonara. The egg cream sauce was luscious and rich. The bacon gave a nice savory touch and it was just right, not too salty, not too bland. This pasta was absolutely satisfying! I am looking forward to trying their dishes here. Their Bacon and Mushrooms Japanese style sauce and Beef Ragu Sauce spaghetti are calling my name ;). Love that this is now open in Torrance! Lots of open parking space near the Torrance airport. Small quiet entrance and simple design. We took the corner bar sitting since it was full by 5:30pm on Sunday. Ordering was quick and simple: uni pasta and mentai cream pasta. Comes each with a salad and bread. Got the Beef Ragu Sauce Spaghetti. Very delicious. The pasta was al dente. The sauce was well balanced with richness, seasoning and garlic. The meat was like a pot roast. Nicely browned, well seasoned and fork tender. There were also mushrooms in this dish. The meal includes a salad and a roll. The salad dressing was somewhat creamy with a nice hint of garlic flavor. The roll was probably a sour dough with medium consistency. Dining is available at a table or the counter. Service was very friendly. They greet when you arrive and say goodbye when you leave. I was very excited to see that Pasta E Pasta opened in Torrance! They have other locations in LA and Cerritos which I tried many years ago and remembered liking. We came during their soft/grand opening for dinner on a Friday night with a group of 7. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations so once we got there, we just had to wait using the Yelp waitlist. The place is fairly small and the wait was long--about 45 minutes for our large party. The staff was nice but the service was pretty slow and it took a long time for the food to come out so it might not be the best place to take hungry, cranky little ones. I think they might be a bit understaffed or need a more efficient system in their kitchen. My husband and I shared two of their pasta specials: the uni pasta and the bolognese. We both preferred the uni pasta which was delicious, creamy, well balanced, not too heavy, and came topped with fresh uni. The bolognese was a bit bland and underwhelming--I wouldn't get that again. I think the bolognese would taste better with a different type of pasta noodle other than the angel-hair type pasta they seem to use in all their pastas. One plus is that all their pastas come with bread and their house salad which is nice and gives you something to munch on while you wait for the pastas. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place out but I would rather go to Pasta Stories inside Tokyo Central a few steps away, or Unico or Spoon House. First time here, What we ordered: Carbonara - 4.5 stars, very good, didn't give it 5 stars because I prefer regular spaghetti pasta instead of Angel Hair, but still very good, bacon had excellent flavor. Wife ordered Spaghetti Bolognese, also very good, my wife also likes regular as opposed to Angel Hair. With your entree they provide bread and salad, Bread was 5 stars, very soft, excellent! Salad - 4 stars, just lettuce and Cherry tomatoes, and light on the dressing, but still pretty good. Service - 4.5 stars, very attentive and friendly, but forgot my drink I ordered, Bread and salad comes out quickly! Ambiance - 4.5 stars, nice enough inside, low sounding music in the background. I am so excited that my favorite Japanese pasta restaurant has finally opened here. I used to go out of my way to eat at Pasta e Pasta in Little Tokyo and Cerritos, so I had been looking forward to this opening. I visited during the soft opening, and the taste did not disappoint. I ordered the Squid Uni pasta. The squid here is cooked, unlike the raw-style squid at Spoon House. Personally, I prefer the squid at Spoon House, but everything else about the dish was absolutely delicious. I have tried many different dishes at various Pasta e Pasta locations, and honestly, everything is consistently good. Usually, once I find something I like, I tend to order the same thing every time. But at this restaurant, every pasta sounds and tastes so good that it actually takes me a long time to decide what to order. Speaking of timing, the food came out perfectly. The service was excellent as well. Even though it was a soft opening, our server was a very experienced and incredibly kind woman. I also loved the atmosphere. The calm, black-toned interior creates a relaxing and sophisticated feel. I am truly happy to have another favorite restaurant here in the South Bay. This is a new restaurant that replaced the unfortunate and sudden closing of Honda Sushi. We've been here twice in the past several weeks and if I rated it on our first visit soon after they first opened as it seems some here did, my rating may have been a 4* as the service took a bit longer than we would have preferred. But knowing they recently opened and they're working out the kinks with a large lunch crowd right soon after opening on a Saturday lunch we didn't think much about it. Going back the second time a week ago, they've seemed to have gotten into the swing of the crowd and we were served pretty quickly and similar to the first visit, it was excellent. The atmosphere is very welcoming and as long as you get there soon after opening, there is not much of a wait. I can't say that for those that arrived after 12:30 or so when we were leaving. There seemed to be a decent number of people waiting for a table. Which is a compliment in itself. All that aside, this has become one of our family go to restaurants for Japanese-themed pasta. Portions are good and so far everything we've ordered has been amazing. Highly recommend, imho! read more

Having been to both Pasta e Pasta locations in Little Tokyo and Cerritos, I'm already an established fan of their pastas, and was really happy and excited to see a new location in Torrance! I was there on a Friday night around 6:30 pm - party of 2. When I put down my table on the waitlist on Yelp, there was only a table of four ahead of me, so it wasn't too busy. There were at least three seats open at the bar, and the wait time was listed to be less than five minutes, even though the other seats and tables were full. I waited ten minutes for a server to even walk over to check in on the people waiting at the entrance, and the three seats at the bar remained empty throughout. I assumed those weren't for seating, since the servers didn't seat us there. After five more minutes, a table of 2 finally freed up, and that table was cleaned and given to us. Service for my table was fine afterwards - our orders were taken and bread was given at well-paced times. The pastas took a bit longer (~30 minutes) but it made sense since there were two chefs making pasta nonstop in the kitchen, and the dishes came out systematically in the order that they were ordered for other tables that I observed. The pastas tasted good, but the sauces were a bit more on the watery side and lacking a bit in flavor compared to the other two locations. We ordered the mentai cream and vegetable oil pastas. While the service for my table didn't have any issues beyond waiting to be seated with no service or acknowledgement from the staff, I noticed the service elsewhere to be odd. The three seats at the bar I mentioned earlier as being empty when I first arrived? Another party of 2 was seated there a few minutes after we'd sat down at our table. So, it looks like those three seats were actually intended for seating, only to be left empty for at least 20 minutes before the waiters thought to seat people there. It also took a really long time to clean many of the tables - one table of four sat partially cleaned with two of the four dishes removed for almost ten minutes. Another bar area of two seats was cleaned quickly but left empty for over 10 minutes, even though more people had shown up by then. It was odd and surreal to witness tables and bar areas be abandoned in various stages of preparedness, with at the very least three parties at any given moment waiting to be seated and four or five waiters working. Maybe it's because the restaurant had just opened recently and the waiters were new/training and gauging the wait times for seating and food, but it was just strange as a customer to experience this. I hope the service gets better with time, though. Debatably 2 stars for service, 4 stars for the food. On the bright side, this location has more pasta options than the Cerritos one has: Torrance has the Puttanesca, salmon spinach cream, tarako, and vegetarian oil spaghetti dishes, which Cerritos doesn't have. The Little Tokyo location still stands as the only one to have the Bacon eggplant mozzarella, chicken spinach cream sauce, and Genovese pastas, if I'm correct. It's nice to have a combination of the two menus for variation of each location! read more

Located in the Best Buy/Tokyo central shopping center, this restaurant is in the old Japanese restaurant Hondas location. Bar seating, small tables or tables with partial wooden bench seating. Strong Japanese influenced dishes but they also have bolognese and arrabiata. We went for lunch where our orders included complimentary green salad and bread. Service was prompt. I'm glad that the server repeated our order because we were able to correct what the server heard vs what we ordered. Bread consisted of rolls which were steamed. Overall, I prefer spoon house in Gardena where the baguettes are baked on the premises and the bread is crusty. Flavoring of the arrabiata was spot on. It's a good alternate for Japanese spaghetti for me. read more

The food is delicious, though they are working out pacing issues. The setting is a bit too spartan - it doesn't have a 'lived in' feel yet. But this is expected with during any soft opening period. Heard this was a branch of the the one in Little Tokyo which have great reviews. Decided to try them early Sunday dinner. The pasta we had were Carbonara, Uni, Mentai Creme and Bolognese. For the $$ price, it was worth it. They all tasted so good! Service was great and very attentive. If you go off peak hours you can be seated right away. I ended up going on Saturday 02/21/26 during lunch with my wife and kid. *Wait time was about 20 minutes *Staff took our order fairly quickly after we were seated *Received bread and salad (really enjoyed the bread) *About 10 minutes in and I had to ask staff for waters *30 minutes in - we received another order of bread *35 mins in - We noticed 3 groups that sat down after us already eating *40 minutes in and we are still waiting for our order *I tried flagging down a staff member but things were a little choatic *45 minutes in - a couple we didn't even see in line get their food *60 minutes in - we still haven't received our order and no one from the staff has had the decency to come over to let us know why our order was taking so long. *65 minutes in - Staff bring us burrata salad, which we didn't even order. We ask why our food was taking so long and the staff member says "They had to remake the Mentai cream sauce." *At this point, I didn't want to make a scene and told the staff we were leaving and were extremely disappointed with our experience. *Received a very condescending apology.
