Chicken parmesan with white pasta on the side
    Lizzy L.

We passed by Pasta House on a weeknight and saw that they had live music (a keyboardist) on the patio and enjoyed a nice dinner with my kids outside. I loved the eggplant parmesan and garlic bread appetizers ($2 off during happy hour). My kids ordered toasted ravioli and cheese stick kids meals, both of which tasted like the boxed kind that I can buy at the grocery store freezer section (but they didn't mind). The chicken parmesan entree was delicious but the breading was a little soggy. We did like the shell pasta that it came with on the side. Overall it was a fine meal especially for a chain restaurant and we do like using their catering menu for bigger groups, especially their Family Meal Deals!

So it's March and I hadn't actually eaten at a Pasta House restaurant since October or November. If you know me you know that's rare and I typically eat there pretty regularly. This was my first time at the new Kirkwood location. It's clean and new and the place was not busy at 5pm on a weekday. I ordered the 6pc toasted ravioli and the Pasta con Broccoli (no mushrooms). Pasta House has changed a lot of their products over the last few years. The toasted ravioli have been about the size of a quarter for a couple of years and these seemed slightly larger. They always taste good. The Pasta con Broccoli was as expected but maybe the sauce was a little thin? It only takes another couple of minutes for the sauce to reduce some more and thicken up. Service was friendly. I'm sure I'll be back.

Here is the tiny piece of Lasagna I had to pay $18.99 for.

The food is just frozen heated and sauce added. I ordered meatballs with a Caesar salad to go with it. The food just wasn't very appealing.

There were other people there. The hostess and waitress were very hospitable. I ordered the lasagna with a side salad, and my wife ordered the chicken modiga. We heard the portions were big, and that is the truth. My serving of lasagna was about 4 inches square and about 3 inches tall. Multiple layers of pasta and meat and other yummy stuff. I ate about half and took the other half home. My wife's chicken modiga was also huge. She got two breaded chicken breasts and a pile of pasta. She ate about half of one chicken breast and brought the rest home. The chicken breast that she started eating was great. Nice breading. Nice lemony sauce. The next day we reheated our leftovers. We each got some lasagna, and we split the chicken breasts (I got the whole second one and she got the one she started on the night before). The lasagna tasted as good as the first time. This is what I noticed on the chicken breasts. The whole chicken breast tasted like it had a rubbery side to it. I suspect that particular chicken breast had freezer burn on the one side. The other chicken breast was perfect. I had my wife try my chicken breast and she agreed, kind of rubbery. I don't know if this is a one off thing or if this happens often. As I stated this was my first time there. That is why I am taking one star off for my review. Other than that chicken breast, everything was great! I will eat there again. I highly recommend the lasagna.

Not having been here before I had called ahead and asked for a table close to the entry as one of our party has an illness and not as mobile as he'd like. I was pleased with the table that they had reserved for us and the hostess didn't mention why we got that table, imo that was classy as I had hoped they wouldn't bring it up. It just looked like we got lucky and got a table a bit larger than needed and near the front without being obvious. We had drinks brought out and I had the amore spritzer suggested by the server. It was larger than expected and fairly strong, great taste. The other two drinks were just standard gin & tonic and a beer. All three dinners were excellent: my lobster ravioli, calamari, and chicken Romano. The house salads were very good, as was the shared slice of cheesecake that ended our dinner. The food & drinks were excellent, the server was great interacting with us and doing some give and take, and it was not overly expensive. In cost this would be a 3 out of 4 or a 3.5 out of 5 if the top number was higher expense for a restaurant. Without a doubt I would go back on a date if I was looking to impress.

If you've never tried toasted ravioli, you haven't lived. This is a great place to go to try it. I could eat it until I no longer fit in my pants! They really should have a plus sized clothing department right there in the store as some people are going to need it. Oh, and they have great pizza, too. You can try the St Louis style with provel (which I really like), but I'm pretty sure they have a mozzarella option, too. I've also tried their salads in the past and really enjoyed them. One day, maybe I'll get to try one of their Italian dishes. The place is a bit unusual in its look and structure. If you are going to get a table and eat, go in through the back door. There are some areas that look like smaller rooms, and then there was a larger room where we ate. It's all enjoyable, though. I also want to say that our waitress there was one of the most outstanding waitresses that I've ever seen. She was very friendly and helpful. It definitely added to the experience. I just don't think people realize how good St Louis food is! This is a prime example. Unless you really don't like Italian food (in which case, what's wrong with you?), go eat here!

Well we went on a weekend for dinner and it's clear why there are crowds here. The two of use arrived about 6pm on a Saturday and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table -- they don't take reservations for small groups. Turned out to be fine as we found a seat near the bar and got to watch the World Cup game as we had a drink. We were on the patio, this was June, and it's a really neat space as they can adjust the room to be more open or closed depending on how the weather is. Was an interesting feeling, felt like we were inside but with a nice breeze. For food we got the toasted raviolis to start, each of us got a salad, for entrees we got chicken parm and the rigatoni allá vodka with shrimp. They also gave complimentary bread that was very nice. I especially enjoyed my rigatoni allá vodka but everything was delicious and reasonable my priced. Food all came out fast and service was quick and friendly.

Obviously lettuce no idea the dresssing, but mixed with pimentos, yummy artichokes and Parmesan. We all really enjoyed it. I got the roast beef sandwich and unlimited salad for one. The roast beef was very flavorful on a roll with au jus for dipping. Overall I really liked it. Due to the size of the dipping cup, would suggest what I did and cust the sandwich lengthwise. Came with red or white pasta, or an extra dollar if I wanted fries. I went for the red pasta. As you know, I'm not a big fan, but the sauce was really good and the noodles were very tender. I think I could've eaten a cup about sauce. Spouse got the seafood cannelloni. She said she now has a favorite cannelloni. Didn't come with any sides or salad. She added the bottomless salad. Our guest got the breaded fish with wine sauce. The sauce is a lemon sauce with mushrooms and broccoli, he doesn't like mushroom so he got his without the mushrooms. It was a very large piece of fish. I came with a large bowl of broccoli as a side. And of course it came with the bottomless salad. He said he really enjoyed it, but it was a little bit too much for him to eat in one meal. So the positive is he will have a nice meal for lunch tomorrow.
