A perfect pre theatre meal. Made a reservation on open table. The restaurant is so much bigger than it looks when you first walk in! 2 of us were in an out in less than an hour. We shared carbonara, eggplant rolatini and meatballs. Plenty of food. The meal came to $80 for those things and 2 sodas which I thought was very fair. Our server was very nice, gave good suggestions. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the pasta was tasty with portions big enough to share or plan for leftovers. I hate giving this place a 3 because they really didn't do anything wrong- the food was just average. The ziti was saucy and cheesy but not much flavor. The chicken parmigiana was breaded well but soggier than usual. The only problem was the little battery-powered lights they use on the chandeliers wouldn't stop flickering, which was distracting the whole time. We usually visit this place after going to Broadway shows. Great location and overall good food and service. Place is nice and spacious and we love getting seating in the booths toward the back. Waiters are very attentive and provide good service. We had the regular Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Parm with pasta and the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo which is the fettuccine Alfredo topped with a crispy chicken cutlet topped with Mozzarella cheese. Food was good and portion sizes are nice as well. Only complaint was that all dishes were lacking a bit of salt cooked into the meals. Great location in walking distance from Rockefeller Center. It is fairly upscale inside (white tablecloths and cloth napkins). Attire seemed to be business casual for most patrons. Note that there is no kid menu or lactose free options. This restaurant is also I insanely expensive, which was expected for location but disappointing due to quality of the food. Unfortunately, they got our son's pasta order wrong (he is 6 and we were offered penne instead of the spaghetti noodles) and hardly included any bacon. Thus, $30 for pasta, 3 small pieces of bacon, onions and tomato sauce. Probably a $28 markup. Sheesh. The bread was amazing and my French martini was great. My husband's old fashioned drink was watered down. 1 of 2 kiddos enjoyed the pepperoni pizza (a small was a fine size for 2 young kids, FYI). They also really enjoyed the Caesar salad but fought over the single crouton included on the plate. Lasagna more of a casserole than a layered pasta dish, but still very tasty. The only reason I gave this place two stars was because the service was beyond amazing! The waiters were kind, attentive, and friendly. The way they served the table made you feel like you were at a 5 star restaurant. The actual ambiance of the restaurant was fine. It was decorated nicely and dimly lit with a nice lamp you could turn on your table. The reason why I scored this restaurant so low is because it's so overpriced for the food to be so disappointing. I got their signature dish which was a shell pasta with some type of cream sauce with chicken and broccoli. The chicken had not once ounce of seasoning on it. It was extremely bland the sauce tasted like it was a jar of Ragu. I wouldn't have minded this so much if it didn't cost $32.I understand we are in midtown but for $32 a plate you can have food that actually tastes good. It's actually sad that they advertise this as their signature dish! Also, my friend who ordered the burger said it was burnt and not good. I read before eating here that the portions were generous. I did feel like the pasta was a good size but let me tell you the generosity was not for their wine pour. There house cab was $14 and it was an extremely low pour. The restaurant has a bar as you enter, then up a few steps are the tables, so it's nice to have the separation, feels like 2 different spaces with different energies. I love trying pizza from different places because they're usually all made differently. This pizza was unique - not super cheesy, very adequate ham and pineapple, and a crunchy crust. Slices are pretty small for a small pizza though, you'll need to order more to be full. We also ordered the Shells Pasta Lover, Kale Salad, and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Overall the food was decent, and easy to share. We sat at a booth next to the wall towards the back. I thought the booth was a little awkward for 4 people, kinda cramped, and not super comfortable. Came here for lunch on 2/29/24 at 11:30am when they opened and were seated pretty quickly. The good thing about this restaurant is that it can accommodate large groups pretty easily and it started getting busy with large groups around 1pm when we were leaving. However, it is a little pricey for lunch. When I walked out I saw a sign for a 3 course prefix lunch special for the same price as the pasta but this wasn't mentioned by any of the waiters or menus. I had the white linguine clam pasta ($29). Pasta was a little too oily for my liking. But my coworkers liked their food.
