I decided to go to Mama Mia, a cute and cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant today with a friend. The owner was incredibly sweet and made sure we were seated comfortably, which made the atmosphere feel warm and welcoming right away. We started with the organic salad, which tasted fresh and crisp with a homemade salad dressing that paired perfectly well. For the main course, the rich and flavorful Penne Alla Vodka topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese was absolutely rich and flavorful. To finish the night we went with the creamy cheesecake with added slices of cherries.. just yummy. Definitely a neighborhood treasure!

We booked this place after our Rockettes show and it was quite a walk from Radio city. The location is prime, though, and the smells wafting out into the air were both intoxicating and inviting, just as Italian should be. We showed up a few minutes before our reservation and were promptly seated. The price is good for midtown and the portions are just right. I ordered a Peroni and Chicken Eggplant Rollatini, which was chock full of flavor and juicy. Stop in and you won't be disappointed!

l've dined in at Mama Mia a few years back when me and my buddy were done with our gym session and was craving some good Italian food. It was a mellow week night and I needed something hearty to fill up my stomach. This is right in 9th Avenue in the middle of Hell's Kitchen also walking distance to my hotel. Service is friendly, fast, and just enough staff to get you seated quickly. Menu is simple, kitchen was really efficient getting dishes out. I could over hear other patrons in the restaurant, and the staff is Italian-friendly too. What I ordered was a Ceaser Salad , Meatballs and Cheesecake for dessert. Was not in the mood for wine, but I was craving a soda. Complimentary bread was delivered first. Btw, the portion of each item was perfect sizing for me! There was so no leftovers. Not bad of a place, I think it gets busy before and after showtimes. If you're up for drinks, they have a full bar. All in all, a very nice place to dine in!

I brought a group of friends here for brunch after church one Sunday. We were seated in the back, which was nice because it almost felt like our own private area. We all partook in the Brunch Special, which included main course, coffee and an alcoholic drink, as well mini muffins, for only $22! One of my friends and I decided to split one savory and one sweet dish. We chose the Skillet Frittata with roasted potatoes and peppers / onions, and the Stuffed Challah French Toast. The Frittata was not served in a skillet, but was otherwise pretty tasty. The Frittata was full of bacon, cheese, red and green peppers, and onion. It was hearty and well seasoned. The potatoes were a bit bland though and could have been more crispy. French Toast was nicely crisp, sweet, and served with berries. However, there wasn't much stuffing inside. Mini corn muffins were super cute and had a delightfully yummy crunchy exterior. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the Brunch Special experience. Prices were decent especially for the Hell's Kitchen area.

Cozy Italian eatery. Came on a Saturday night and there was a couple playing music which definitely added to the vibe! Such a beautiful experience. Food was fast and full of flavor. The pizza definitely lived up to being a New York slice if you know what I mean.

My friend and I were walking by looking for a good place to eat. It was a beautiful warm night in NYC so we sat at a table close to the open doors. I had a glass of cabernet. The service was excellent, and he recommended the spaghetti carbonara. It was THE BEST carbonara I ever had!! I was also pleasantly surprised to hear live musicians playing to the restaurant as well people sitting on the outside patio. I know for the next few weeks, I will have dreams of that carbonara!! Well done!!

Local neighborhood gem run by two sisters and their family. When you walk by the smell of garlic is always wafting in that air. Everything I've had here is always delicious and tastes homemade. On my most recent visit I have the chicken eggplant parmesan rollatini , which was fantastic. No matter what you get you can't go wrong! Definitely worth a visit! Service is always top-notch!

Service - 5 Food - 4 Ambiance - 4.5 (bathrooms are super clean and spacious) Came here today after lots of walking around. Really loves the marinara sauce which was one of the best. It's a small, cozy spot but happy we found it. We came after the lunch rush so we were able to get a table easily. Some of the best meatballs I've had. The complimentary bread was ok but the bonus were these mini blueberry muffins. We got the foccacia and that was yummy. We also got the chicken parm - my daughter thought it was ok. I think she just doesn't love chicken parm in general. Right next to Broadway theaters. Good location!

Mama Mia was just an ok experience, and I don't see myself visiting again. Everyone had a taste for Italian, and Yelp led us to Mama Mia. It was fairly busy around 6:30p, and there was only one waiter -- he was working the bar and managing several tables. As such, service was a bit slow. The lighting in the restaurant was a bit dim. Too dim! I don't have the best set of eyes, but I needed my flashlight to see the menu! We ordered mozzarella sticks, baked clams, chicken parmesan, fettuccine alfredo, and the fish of the day (branzino). I tried the mozzarella sticks, baked clams, and my entree was the branzino with spinach. The mozzarella sticks were really good--came out piping hot and the cheese pull lived up to its name. The branzino was just ok. The menu description indicated it would be served alongside spinach and capers. However, there were more olives on my plate than capers. I was a bit disappointed. Additionally, the plate was filled with oil. While the fish was seasoned well, there was simply too much oil. As a matter of fact, later that evening, I felt a bit nauseous. I attribute it to my oily dinner. The baked clams were also just ok. There was too much breading--so much so that I scraped the breading and got right to the point: the clams! I wouldn't get this dish again. As mentioned earlier, service was slow. I had to flag down the menu waiter for the bill. Mama Mia wasn't really my cup of tea, but clearly with their Yelp 4-star rating, I'm in the minority. Cheers!

Stopped in for dinner before a show based on some recommendations, and while we definitely weren't disappointed, we also weren't blown out of the water. The best thing we ate was the focaccia - which was absolutely delicious and incredible with the olive oil - which we were also glad we ordered because somehow a bread basket never found its way to our table. The margherita pizza wasn't bad - a bit floppy of a crust which made it difficult to eat, and the chicken parm was also okay - though a thick cutlet that ended up being very soft texturally. The wait staff was excellent though, constantly refilling water and checking in

I have been to many Italian style restaurants. But nothing is quite like Mama Mia. A friend of mine and I were here for hyrox, chose to come here for our "carb loading". And by that I mean, a homemade meal where you were not rushed AT ALL. It was like I was sitting at home with family having dinner. Nothing was a requirement (drinks, dessert, appetizers, etc). The environment was cheerful and staff was amazing. We definitely went back after our event for drinks and some apps, but it was an amazing experience and we will be coming here on our future endeavors. If you're looking for a family friendly and at home experience with a more upscale environment, this is your place.

We tried this place in a whim and a quick look on Yelp to see what was available after we finished watching a play. The motiff was a bit a little bit too dark for my liking, but my family was fine with it. The was a group of young adults that were too loud, very loud. Even my kids thought they were obnoxious. Other than those, the place was nice and quaint. The servers were friendly and cordial. I just wished they requested that group to keep there noise level down. When it comes to the food, it was very good. Very tasty and affordable. I was surprised with their pricing, especially being it in the theater district/Hell's Kitchen area. Their menu shows the price difference between paying with cash/debit card vs credit card, so you can at least know ahead of time how much the final bill would cost you. I thought that was a pretty good touch. Was the food mind-blowing? No. It was just good old fashioned New York Italian Food. A good place to fill your belly and relax after watching an Off-Broadway show. It's definitely worth checking out.

They're experimental, whimsical, delicious, and worth every penny. My absolute favorite is Child of Light, and my BF's was High Frequency Device. We were sat at the bar once and were very well taken care of by our bartender, Nikola. It was a Sunday night, so it wasn't terribly busy. It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy.
