    Pappardelle Funghi
    Angelica C.

My last review of this restaurant was 8 years ago!!!! I have definitely grown and now with my grown up palette can give a better review lol! This has been a go to for me and my friends for many years and it's good to see that it is still up and running! We always loved coming here for their famous 2 for 1 martinis and I am happy to say they still got it and now they have added some bubbly! As we waited for our table to be ready we decided to wait by the bar. I usually always start with the wonderful lychee martini aka Red Lantern. It is creamy, sweet, strong and just hits the spot. They give you 2 on the spot so pace yourself. My friend let me have a sip of their drink Castaway. I was definitely not a fan. The mango puree was a bit thick for my liking but they enjoyed it and that's what matters. We were finally called to our table and before ordering our meal decided on ordering another drink. (We drink fast y'all) I decided to try a bubbly and got the French 75. Definitely a lot less sweeter than the lychee martini but was still so delicious and refreshing. My friend got The Hipster and that was a crowd pleaser. Much thanks to our wonderful server Marcos (or Marcus) who gave us the recommendation. As for our entrees I got the Pappardelle àl Funghi, and my friends got the Penne à la Vodka, Gnocchi Quattro Formaggi and one of the specials Lobster Ravioli. Each one of our dishes was spectacular. My friend was skeptical about her Gnocchi because of the Gorgonzola but it was soooo damn good and that cheese pull was everything!! The Pappardelle was scrumptious. The crisp of the asparagus and the bite of the soft mushrooms in that wonderful sauce was delicious. And they didn't put too much truffle oil which I'm glad for because sometimes it can be overbearing. You can't go wrong ordering the penne à la vodka. A velvety tomato goodness and the lobster ravioli was not only beautiful to look at. It is comfort food at its finest. We were having a wonderful time catching up and celebrating our friend's promotion but the manager Luke really made us feel like we were at a party. His liveliness, attentiveness, and all around good vibe really just made for an amazing night. There was a moment where a worker dropped a few drinks onto the floor (its happened to all of us) and Luke was right there helping them clean the mess!!! Might not sound like much to others but for me and being in this industry, lots of managers just turn their heads so much props to him. Not to mention Luke was the DJ of the century!! He had us singing along and even taking requests. As our night dwindled down we decided to get an espresso martini to keep the night going and asked our server and Luke for some lively nightlife and they did not disappoint! Our night continued but our bellies were wonderfully full!

    Cheers!

Such a great spot! My first time going with a friend (wasn't her first time tho lol) & their 2 for 1 drinks are the best! So many cute choices that are delish. Super cool & friendly bartender he kept the drinks flowing, didn't try any food but will definitely order a bite when I go back for sure.

Yum food! We did the 2 for 1 martinis and got the dolce vita (passionfruit) -- i would highly recommend. The pollo della casa was highlighted and I had to try it of course, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was moist and delicious and a hearty portion.

Fun place on 6th avenue. Started with "The Thinker" an espresso martini and a French 75. Each $18 but you get TWO! Double fun! Followed up with calamari. Calamari was a little tough but certainly still nice to have and enjoy. Luke the manager stopped by to check in on us. Nice young man who humored us! We were at bar (which we like to do ) and Hymie took good care of us. Decided we should try a Caesar salad and the Forestale pizza which seems to be a house speciality. Caesar was better than expected and had anchovies! Yes! The pizza had a very thin crackery crust. Mushrooms were fresh. Could have been hotter. Nice place. Good energy. Caesar great. Calamari and pizza good not superb.

Wonderful pizza, crisp thin crust pizza that will make you wonder how did they make it so thin and awesome. I was blown away after I watched a classical concert at Carnegie Hall. Hell I even took a photo of the masterpizza.

Came here on a week night for dinner with friends and the service was excellent. They seem pretty busy and therefore will make you wait for your entire party to be seated. But there was room at the bar to order drinks while I waited. They have really great drink deals. 2 for 1 wine, martinis, and other cocktails. They also have a good tapas deal where you can try a few different small plates instead of committing to one appetizer. Everyone at my table agreed the food was fresh and well cooked.

Went on a date here. We had to wait quite a bit before being seated. The waiter was nice. Food came out quickly. My dish, the pappardelli was pretty good and very filling. The drink I got was the Castaway which was strong! Overall I had a good experience, I'd recommend.

Stumbled in because it was close to where we were staying - and so glad we did. Not busy, and we were seated right away. Attentive staff, friendly servers. Food came quick and was delicious: great bolognese and the Italian tapas we selected (calamari and marinated steak skewers) were excellent. Topped off with a decadent bananas foster sundae that we shared. Ambiance was lively and energizing. A wonderful meal and will definitel

Our first night in NYC on vacation and this was nearby. Got in quickly on a Sunday night and ate at the bar. Fast service. Great drinks! We did the two for $18 specials and they were pretty yummy. Had the pizza cacciatore which was good thin crust style pizza. For dessert, we enjoyed the crème brûlée. Overall it was a good visit. We would go back.

    Two for one martinis

The moment I saw two for one martinis all day every day on the menu, I knew this was the spot for me! Their food portions are plentiful. I love the butter they have with their bread. The staff is always friendly. The risotto frutti de mare was delicious as was the pollo Parmesan which I got quite a few meals out of.

I want to love this place but for some reason I don't feel welcome here. I had been a regular for quiet sometime at this point but cant stop noticing I don't feel welcome everytime I come over. I'm a Latino gay man coming for drinks and pizza with a friend for the past six months to a year. Today I came by myself for new years and I noticed the regulars coming to this place are neighbors (Caucasians) but when I come over I feel the judgement and dismissiveness behavior. It feels like they want me to leave as soon I get there. The funny part is 90% of employees are Latino descent! I still trying to figure if I ever done anything wrong so wanted to give you a hands up in case you fit my description.

*** Homey ambiance and delicious. *** I really enjoyed this spot for Italian food. Not contempo or sleek, just hearty good. *** Fusilli, salad + 2 for 1 martinis ftw. ***

    Calamari Fritti.

While not five star pasta, this pasta satisfied my appetite. I love pasta with shrimp so naturally I ordered the Linguine Scampi. The calamari appetizer was bomb!! Yummy goodness paired with finger lickin' delish marinara sauce. My sister ordered the mushroom pasta and she liked it.

We wanted to have after-dinner cocktails in a chill space, so we searched on our phones & saw Paradise Lost address via Google. We proceeded to walk down & was unable to find the establishment due to their being no front sign. After walking back & forth a few times, we saw another group walking towards the door & they confirmed the place. We walked inside the front door pressed a "doorbell" & lo & behold we gained entry after the previous group went inside. Definitely an incognito entrance. Once inside that door there is someone to greet you, & take your information. There is a forest/ grass/ jungle-looking foyer/ hallway we walked down to get to the next door. Before we knew it, we were near the "Paradise Lost No Vacancy" neon sign w/ an arrow pointing towards the snake-shaped knob door. It gets opened & a supercool speakeasy awaits.... Paradise Lost has mixed style table / seating arrangements throughout the place. A bar seating section, booth-style seating area, lounge- style seating area, etc. We got there a little after 7pm, so the afterwork crowd was in full swing. Paradise Lost has interesting atmosphere. At times a Gothic / Medieval Vibe, meets place w/ shipwreck decor, meets eleganct /club vibe w/ beautiful ceiling lighting, etc. Music played in the background. Staff are friendly, energetic, & attentive. We were pleasantly overwhelmed w/ the vast selection of tiki cocktails that were on the menu. Paradise Lost also have an intimate selection of snacks/ food menu items. This included Popcorn, Tater Tots, Devilled Eggs Rangoon Dip, etc. We ordered some cocktails served in unique tiki mugs & a bucket of popcorn to munch on w/ our drinks. The popcorn is flavored w/ Sea Buckthorn & Browm Butter, which gave it an special flavor profile. Our cocktails were well-prepared & nice & strong. Paradise Lost has individual unisex bathroom stalls & a communal vanity & sink area. The bathroom stalls have spooky voices coming from a speaker as you use the bathroom. I was so humorously taken aback, it had me laughing when I came out...Definitely a different thing to experience in the bathroom - lol. Before we left we watched one of the bartenders do a cocktail "fire" presentation for some patrons in a booth seated area. Wow.... Paradise Lost accepts walk-ins only, no reservations. Paradise Lost accepts groups of 8 or less, unless you are requesting to book the space for a private event. Ages 21+ paradiselost.nyc @paradiselostnyc Paradise Lost is open everyday - 5pm-2am.

Dim lighting, plush seating, rich wood + wallpaper details, and that lounge-library vibe make the place feel like a secret hideout right in the middle of Midtown. It's moody, cozy, and effortlessly intimate -- perfect for a date night, a chill catch-up, or just a night out with good drinks. Nice service, too! However: be ready for the price tag. The cocktails are absolutely beautiful -- well crafted, creative, and flavorful -- but each one will remind you that you're not exactly paying dive-bar prices. It's worthwhile, but the "overpriced drinks" vibe absolutely hits. That said: the interior design and ambience are amazing. My only two gripes with the spot were - they didn't acknowledge my birthday, even with a happy birthday from my server or the hostess. I am not sure why Resy prompted me to indicate the occasion if it wouldn't even be acknowledged or looked at. It obviously feels good to feel celebrated, so they dropped the ball in this regard. The second issue is it got sickeningly loud inside. This was a sunday night, and I ended up having to shout just to be heard by the girl right next to me. Everything else was good! Though there wasn't a dish that just blew my mind, everything was consistently really good and enjoyable. I recommended ordering a handful of dishes and sharing with a group. The cornstar martini was fun (and the popcorn was great!), the vodka pasta, caesar salad, and truff fries were enjoyable as well. The cute matchboxes were a cherry on top as we were leaving!
