Had a great dinner at Pasta Veneta. Restaurant is a little off the beaten path, it certainly wasn't crowded when I was there (I hope Chicago isn't sleeping on this place!) Service, food, everything was excellent! I had the Caesar salad, foccacia of the day, roasted beets with goat cheese, gnocchi with braised beef short ribs, and a single scoop (I was stuffed) of fig and goat cheese gelato. Highlights: the roasted beets w/goat cheese have a basil-infused olive oil base that really makes the whole dish shine. Awesome. The gnocchi was soft, puffy, like clouds....and oh so tasty. And the gelato was just unusual enough (I used weird when talking to the waiter) to be really really good. All in all a great dining experience.

The name speaks for itself. Phenomenal pastas, beautiful restaurant layout and very courteous staff. If you want exceptional pasta in Chicago, you need to come here.

The food was great, but the portions were small and quite expensive. My boyfriend got the risotto and it was exceptional! My spaghetti bolognese was good, but reminded us of fancy Chef Boyardee. The service was slow and our waitress was a little odd and we felt ignored. When making the reservation we booked a high top table, when we arrived there were no high top tables even in the restaurant. Overall, good food, but there's other places we want to try before we'd consider returning

Reallllyyy wanted to give this place a higher ranking because the food was so fresh and delicious (I loved every bite of the corn truffle ravioli) but the portion was quite small so I left still very hungry; I think if I had added a protein I would have had a better outlook on this place. There were several extra fees - our group paid $12 for 3 carafes of water which we did not know about, so felt a bit caught off guard. The service was good though and the space was quiet. I'd definitely like to come back and try more because everyone really enjoyed their meal!

We went at an awkward time, so it wasn't as busy, but our server was great. What we ordered: Burrata: It was a bit small and tricky to share with a table of four. I would have chosen a different appetizer if I knew it would be a precut burrata. Rigatoni w Pesto & Stracciatella Fresca: Very good! I loved the creamy sauce with the cheese, and the pasta was cooked al dente. Duck Confit w Pappardelle & Duck Ragout: Something different! I enjoyed the combination of the thick-cut noodles and the duck. The presentation was nice too. Fettuccine Alfredo w Parmesan & Chicken: Can't go wrong with fettuccine alfredo. Though next time I might try some of their other more adventurous menu items.

The food and service were top notch. The pasta is made in house and the flavors are robust. The pasta with duck is tangy and has a deep depth of flavor in each bite. The spaghetti has bold tomato flavor that is beautifully complimented by the sausage addition. The space is gorgeous as we sat near a floral arrangement that was fragrant and more effective than a B&BW candle! My only surprise was the charge for water. I assumed water was complimentary. It is not.

Extremely underrated Italian spot in the West Loop! Prices are much more fair than other restaurants in the area and the food is equally (if not more) delicious! All of the pasta is made in house. There is a wide variety of dishes and definitely something for everyone. I enjoyed the truffle pasta with caviar-- so decadent and a generous portion! The service here was a bit slow at first but once it got going everything was great. I enjoyed the upscale yet laid back environment. This restaurant is at the end of Fulton so it's less packed than others and a great place to engage in conversation. I'd recommend bringing family here!

It's rooftop and patio season in Chicago and this spot has thee perfect patio for you to enjoy while having some of their delicious Italian Food! You can watch them making the different pastas right inside of the restaurant, which is super cool! They also have a full bar in the restaurant where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail with your delicious meal! My rigatoni was so good. The pesto sauce on there was perfect and the homemade taste of the pasta makes such a big impact on the meal! I also got some homemade fig ice cream and wow! It was first time having it and it was soooooo good, plus it had pieces of fresh figs on it. Loved it! This newer addition to the Fulton Market area is perfect for the summer! Pay them a visit and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you! Enjoy!

We decided to check this place out since most of the reviews were stellar. The few bad reviews stated portion sizes were small. I did not find that to be the case at all. We ordered more than we really need to based on those reviews but I'm so glad we did. Everything was amazing. All pastas are made in house. Everything had a fresh quality about it. My kids were very excited about the butter noodle option. Our server was fantastic. It's a smaller restaurant but very clean and classic. I would absolutely come here again.

This was a great place with wonderful ambiance! We got focaccia to start, it was dry and came out at room temperature. It was only $3.50, so not a bad price and good to use for dipping in pasta sauce. Served with olive tapenade. The bruschetta was topped to the brim! Lol. The mozzarella, tomatoes, zucchini, onions were tossed in dressing and topped on a yummy crunchy bread. I loved this fresh take on bruschetta. The pear salad was a good fresh component. I love arugula and pear, Gorgonzola added a nice nuttiness to the dish. Be sure you like all these items before ordering! Corn ravioli with truffle was soooooo good. Really enjoyed the subtle truffle notes and fresh corn inside the ravioli. The sauce was not too heavy and went perfect with the corn. The pesto is not pictured but also very yummy. Pesto sauce was soooooo creamy and luscious. They have chili flakes if you ask for it, but the chili flakes are not at all spicy. Great time at this restaurant! I'll be back to try more items.

No matter what you do... GET THE GNOCCHI. It was literally the most fluffy Gnocchi I've ever had and I still dream about it. The service was amazing as well and really loved how I didn't have to ask for anything. She was very on top on it all. The ambiance was cute but nothing over the top. This isn't a fancy place though I would have expected more for a west loop location. Lastly, I gave 4 stars rather than 5 because of the presentation of the dishes. They need improvement. I want to be wowed when my plate arrives at the table and feel like what my eyes and taste buds are seeing match! Overall, a great meal!

This is my new favorite pasta in Chicago! I've been wanting to try it for so long because it looks so pretty with all of the flowers outside and the unique design inside. But the food blew me away. Plus, service was great, friendly, and super attentive. My only complaint is that they kept refilling our water but charged us for it on the bill. Regardless, would definitely recommend and will be back.

The pasta tastes incredibly fresh, and I genuinely haven't had a bad meal here yet. I brought my mom once and she ordered the lasagna. And this woman is very particular about lasagna , and even she loved it. They also have wine and some fun Italian drinks, but you have to save room for after dinner. Get a tiramisu or another dessert and order a cappuccino or latte to finish your meal. It gives you a little taste of that long, leisurely Italian meal experience without leaving Chicago. Great food, great service, fresh pasta, and somewhere I genuinely come back to instead of just saying I will. Easy 5 stars.

Service: service was pretty lacking for the price point. The hostess was MIA when our party arrived, until someone waiting behind us walked in and tracked her down himself. Our waitress was very slow and it took us 2.5h+ to get through a 3 course dinner, most of which was us sitting around waiting. And that's with us packing up dessert to go because we were running behind. Bread service: a nice touch and they give you a lot of Parmesan and oil. We had a no-cheese person, and our request for an extra saucer of dip without cheese was ignored. Guy never name back despite agreeing. Tuna tartar: very well seasoned although you could tell the tuna was a bit low quality. It was noticeably sinewy and unevenly chopped. Steak: we ordered two steak. The Delmonico (boneless) ribeye we ordered medium rare and it came well done. By this point we waited so long for the entrees we were ravenous and just ate it. The NY Strip decently flavorful but didn't stand out. Lobster Diavolo: despite being advertised as spicy the sauce was very mild and somewhat bland. They empty out an entire lobster so there's generous topping in it. Tiramisu: solid dessert and not too sweet. On the firm and dry side. Special occasions: they stick a free club sprinkler in a dessert which makes for an extravagant celebration and great photo op. The interior of the restaurant is extremely loud. They had a live performer playing piano and we couldn't hear each other talk. It's great if you're looking for this type of ambiance. Most of the people were appeared to be celebrating something or a bit dressed up. Service is a miss and the food is very meh for the price. I think you come here for the club-staurant ambiance. Chicago has a lot of places that serve amazing steaks and I don't think Fioretta stacks up on the food or service side.

Everything is fresh and many dishes are seasonal, like the wonderful eggplant fritters with pesto dipping sauce. The batter on the eggplant wasn't too thick, nor was the fry too oily. Similarly excellent was the peach stracciatella, a combo I've never had before but will now crave, the brightness really shining through. But, the true star of the show was another seasonal dish, the chitarra with crab, corn, and truffle. This was a perfect dish, with every ingredient balancing each other out wonderfully. Just when the crab and sauce might be getting too much, you're hit with a pop of fresh corn. When you want a little different flavor, the umami of the truffle kind of steps in from the background. Even though we selected "dine in" on the tablet, everything came packaged up and in a bag with plastic utensils, which was sad. Hopefully one day they embrace reusable cutlery and tableware. Or at least don't ask a question when the answer is ignored. The pappardelle was extremely disappointing. Noodles were too soft and the sauce was very bland. Since the pasta is in a takeout container, the problem is exacerbated for the noodles at the bottom since they can't air out at all. Would not order this again. In comparison the cavatelli was a flavor bomb. Very garlicky and good amount of sun dried tomato, and just miles above the pappardelle in the flavor department. Texture of the cavatelli was better too, and much closer to al dente. Chicken seemed a teeny bit old and tough. If I came back, I'd probably order this again, or a different white sauce, with thicker pasta shapes. Maybe this is on roughly the same level or a little lower as the Vapiano's that used to be in Chicago (food-wise, loses ambiance-wise) if you order right, but it's definitely not as good as the Vapiano's in Europe.
