Had an amazing dinner here. Service was fabulous - waitress was attentive, checked in just enough while being friendly. Drinks were made just right. Everything was delicious from the appetizer to dinner thru dessert. Appetizer of buratta cheese with bacon wrapped shrimp over field greens with a pesto sauce. A wonderful combination which was happiness in my mouth. Dinner veal cutlet lightly bread with mozzarella cheese over field green with a balsamic dressing which was slightly over poured. What a hidden gem. I've passed this place for years and never stopped. We came by on a whim finally. We didn't expect much. The bread is made of pizza dough. It was okay. Our salad was fresh but was also freshly washed so it was a little watery. Our calamari was freshly breaded but didn't have the most flavor. It came with breaded hot peppers which was the star of the plate. After some mediocre starters I was not expecting anything outstanding but then our entrees came out. First off, I like my food scorching hot. This food came out hotter than any other restaurant I have ever been to. Our waiter said everything is made to order. I ordered the shrimp and scallop fra diavlo. It was DELICIOUS. My husband ordered the penne alla vodka and he said it was probably in his top two of south Jersey. That's saying something because he ALWAYS orders penne alla vodka. Our waiter was also super nice. We will back for sure. Sad we've been skipping out on this place. I really loved this place for a low key little date night. Boyfriend and I started off with an appetizer special, which was long hots wrapped in bacon and stuffed with cheese and steak. They were so delicious and so HOT! But I love spice so I was a happy camper. For dinner I ordered a pasta seafood situation in a vodka sauce which was delicious. The scallops were excellent, I highly recommend any entree that contains them. My boyfriend asked the bartender for a special drink, and it was made perfectly. Also, they have a nice wine selection, we enjoyed a bottle of Malbec which was perfect. The sushi menu is pretty inexplicable and random, but everything else was great! read more

It had been a while since we've been here, so we stopped in last night for dinner with the kids. We had an excellent time with excellent food. Kids had Sushi, and pasta, and the calamari which was really good. My wife had the arugula with chicken and I had the chicken Bella Rosa. Loved my entree, wife liked the salad, felt the chicken was a little over done but enjoyed it all the same. Also had a side of broccoli rab with sausage that could have been a meal all its own. We stopped into Pasta Vino for lunch on a whim and it was great! While the desolate, decaying and shuttered former strip mall across from the entrance is not inviting; look past it and go into the much more inviting interior of Pasta Vino. Jane, our server, seated us immediately and we smiled at her enthusiasm and personality. We ordered Pasta Puttanesca and Pasta Carbonara. The accompanying salad was fresh and good, and my gazpacho was delicious. Cool, creamy, studded with tomatoes and cucumbers with a perfect touch of spice and drizzle of olive oil. A small bread basket accompanied our meal and the breads were warm, soft and tasty. The pastas came hot, al dente and beautifully dressed with their respective, perfectly executed sauces - delicious. The Puttanesca was redolent of all the elements: a hint of anchovy, olives, tomatoes and my Carbonara was creamy, unctuous and filled with peas and bacon. I ended with coffee and a fantastic pistachio gelato suggested by Jane. We will definitely be back to Pasta Vino. read more

Not great. We visited this restaurant with reservations for Christmas Eve dinner. The room seemed cold, so cold that everyone in our party wore their jackets. The girls used the bathroom to realize there was no running water. They used a gel station to clean their hands. Did the pipes freeze? Apps were pretty good. We had fried tomatoes and fried calamari (wondering why there were sweet potato fries mixed in with the calamari). We ordered well done steak that came out maybe medium and the chicken parm was rubbery. Never ate the leftovers. We were never asked how our meal was by management but our waitress did an amazing job running around. I think the staff was running around just to stay warm. Overall very disappointed. read more

I went to Pasta Vino last night for the first and last time. First I will start with the ambiance. The building they bought was just a bar before and they did not change anything about the inside. There is a huge bar in the middle and tables are about 2 feet from bar goers. For a restaurant like this, I didn't think I'd have to shout to my husband to hear him because of the bar crowd. We got the lightly fried calamari which indeed was lightly fried. So lightly that I'm pretty sure half of them were raw. We could eat a couple but had to spit out a few of them. They also fried little sweet potato fries, which was just strange. Some weren't done at all and some where soggy with oil. Just was not a good dish. Next was soup and salad. I got the "clam chowder". I put it in quotes because nothing about that soup was a clam chowder. It was a very thin white broth with chopped carrots, celery, corn and onions. Notice how I didn't mention clams? That's because I did not find one clam in the soup. It was basically white vegetable soup. The broth was also super buttery tasting. Needless to say I only ate about 3 spoons worth. The main course was better but not great. I had the mussels in linguine. The mussels were good and the pasta was cooked fine but the sauce that it was in was so thin that it was basically a soup. So thin in fact that it kept splashing on my shirt no matter how careful I was while eating the pasta. I'm hoping my shirt isn't ruined. My husband had the scallops and shrimp. He thought overall it was good. Seafood was cooked well but again he thought the sauce was way too thin as well. The service was fine. Took a while for the waitress to come back with the check but was mostly attentive. Only complaint about that was she never asked why the calamari and soup weren't eaten. Unfortunately I will not be going back to this establishment. If I want that kind of food for the same price I'll just go down the street to Filomenas. read more

My wife and I had dinner on Sunday night. Such a disappointment. I ordered eggplant parm with pasta. The pasta was very over cooked and the sauce was so sweet as to make the the pasta inedible. My wife ordered the shrimp and scallops entree. The scallops were tasteless and very chewy. Initially we ordered wine. After my wine had been served the manager came to the table and said he had poured the wrong wine. He didn't ask if I had consumed any. He just took the original glass and brought another glass. The food here is very good. I'd recommend the blackened salmon salad it has the perfect amount of dressing. The bread they give you before hand also tastes very good. Came to Pasta Vino on a Friday night. Seating was available immediately. Restaurant had a good amount of diners and several at the bar area. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and nightly specials. He was very attentive with checking on our drinks, satisfaction of our meal etc. I would give it 3.5 stars. read more

Good food. Unfortunately long wait. I arrived with a party of 3 adults and one 6 year old child on a Wednesday night. It was not busy at the time. Our order was taken pretty promptly. We ordered 3 entrees that came with salads and a kids meal for my child. When our server was clearing the salads about half an hour after we arrived, she said, "I'm going to put your entrees in now." It had been over 20 minutes since we gave our order and the entrees hadn't been entered yet? The server didn't even look our way after that so I couldn't ask to rush the meals or being my child's food early. Drink refills were not offered. We waited almost another 30 minutes before the entrees were ready. At this point we had been there over an hour and my child hadn't had anything to eat. Because the food took so long to arrive, my mother asked for her meal to be boxed to go, which the server left to do before she finished bringing the other meals. My child was the last to be served. I asked the server if she always waited until the salads were done to order the entrees. She said, "Yes, when you're done the salads I tell them to fire the entrees for 6 (our table number)." I expressed that the wait was unreasonable and entrees should be ordered sooner if it was going to take 30 minutes to prepare them. The server insisted it wasn't her fault and there was a lot of food to make. Again, this was a weekday and there were maybe three other parties seated near us- and all of them arrived after we did. I doubt I'll ever return here. I've been a server before and it's common sense to time the entrees to be ready shortly after appetizers are finished. You don't wait to place the order until the apps are done. And children's meals should be offered a chance to be prepared ahead of the adult's meals, especially if the child isn't receiving an appetizer. The food was actually pretty good once we finally got to eat it. But the entire experience was spoiled by the long wait. read more

This was our first time ordering takeout from here. We got the crab cakes, penne al a vodka, and pasta carbonara. The food was DISGUSTING! The crab cake was not breaded and saturated in a weird sauce with no flavor. The penne also had no flavor and the carbonara tasted like cardboard. My husband and I threw it all out. As a restaurant owner myself, I tend to eat out a lot after a long 10 to 12 hour day. Pasta Vino is very convenient to my home and business. Matt and Selena are very friendly to us and my wife and I tend to sit at the Bar as the service there is top notch. They are usually very busy, as they are making drinks and also running to pick up kitchen orders at the same time. This can run into a problem at times so my only recommendation is maybe have food runners bringing orders to the Bar so the bartenders are free to keep there front end running smoothly. Other than that, sushi very good, many good happy hours drink and food specials, Burgers good, sandwiches too, and there dinners are also delish. I am one to order many things so I like apps, mussels, sliders, and pizza, which I will say is downtown. Keep hustling as I know it is not easy to please everyone. read more

I felt I was at a wine tasting, I had this large glass with just a taste of wine, buy smaller glasses of pour more wine, and what restaurant has different locations with the same menu, is that all they know how to cook. Me and my husband went there for dinner last night because they are close. We paid 75.00 with tip for food that was horrible. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut my chicken. I had ordered the chicken Marsala which was horrible. I still couldn't cut the chicken with the steak knife. They hardly gave you any pasta with the meal. I would say that for the prices they charge you pay a small fortune. My husband had the chicken Alfredo and his chicken was tough also and the Alfredo sauce was very thin. Again hardly any pasta. I have to mention that the Marsala liquid was like water. I have never had such a horrible meal. The rolls were hard also like they were reheated. You could put your finger through them because they were crunchy and hard but the inside was soft. I should of said something at the time maybe they would have comped our meals but that was my fault. It would be nice if he would credit out credit card. We were offered a $20.00 gift card and I told that manager that we will never come back. The debit card was in the name of Richard S Ruck and our waitress was Brianna. We did leave her a %20 percent tip because it wasn't her fault but she could have asked if there was a problem when I sent back my entire plate except for the few penne pasta that were on the plate, you could hardly find them. Tried this place for the first time since we just moved into the area. Nice selection of Italian and seafood dishes which were reasonably priced. We (four of us) tried different Italian dishes. The food came up piping hot which I find to be an exception in a lot of restaurants these days. Everybody enjoyed their selections. Averaged $32.00 per person with drinks and tip included. They have a full bar and outdoor seating when the weather permits. Multiple TV's surround the perimeter. The restaurant portion of the seating surrounds the large bar in the center so it can get a little noisy. We went on a Sunday night and it was not packed, but a little noisy. I have to imagine on a Saturday night when the weather is nice - it could get a little loud, but definitely a place we will re-visit. read more
