They are located in downtown Fullerton. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and he took us through the menu since it was our first visit. Unfortunately, there was no indoor seating, but they offered outdoor seating. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the portions were generous. Overall, we had an okay experience. I'd go back to try other items on the menu.

YES! LATE NIGHT PASTA! Just having a late night place open, that's not a bar or cuisine centered around drinking (think some Korean restaurants, skewers, etc.), is a rarity and greatly appreciated. Pastaphony is a new franchise where you can build your own pasta or order the presets combinations that they already have. This location is open until midnight/1 AM on most nights (aside from Sunday), which is a GOD SEND. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. I believe they share a space with another restaurant, since the restroom is in between to the right side if need be. All of the drinks are canned/bottled in the small fridge that they have and you can see that they're trying to make it into a hang out spot as they have board games and such here too and it's quite close to Fullerton College. The owner, I believe, Aybek (sorry, if I spelled wrong!) was super friendly and welcoming, shook both of our hands and introduced us and welcomed us into the restaurant. Super courteous and friendly and explained the entire menu to us. Food came out decently quickly and was delicious as well, can't go wrong with some pasta, garlic bread, and carbs. He was nice enough to throw in some complimentary Nutella bomb desserts as well. He also mentioned that his wife made all of the sauces. It's neat that there's a mom and pop shop vibe even for a franchise. For our late night visit, we got the: 1) Build Your Own (BYO) Pasta: -For BYO, you get a pasta and sauce of your choice, unlimited toppings, and you just pay a small extra fee for any premium toppings (the proteins). -We got the penne pasta with pink sauce (mix of the red sauce and Alfredo sauce), garlic, parsley, and basil. For the premium toppings, we got grilled chicken. -Comes out piping hot, very creamy and a generous portion as well. We had to take it to go since it was more than enough for 2 hungry adults in the dead of the mornight. -Grilled chicken was interspersed throughout and the flavoring from our toppings choice tied everything deliciously together. There's also parmesan and crushed red pepper packets if you need to add in more seasoning, but it was perfect the way that we had it. 2) Garlic Breadsticks: -This comes with 4 pieces and served with marinara sauce. -Super garlicky and fragrant. Delicious and a staple you can't do without. Fine on it's own and with the marinara sauce, but super addicting and delicious dipped into our pasta sauce. 3) Nutella Bomb: -Super cute that the owner drew 2 Nutella chocolate hearts on the pastries. It's bomboloni (fried Italian donuts) filled with Nutella. Soft and completely filled to the brim with Nutella. Best eaten fresh as the warmth makes the filling more gooey. Definitely will visit again in the future. If you're hankering for some late night eats and to carb maxxx, this is the place to go!

Pasta was good for being fast food! Staff is so kind even gave us free dessert!! I went with my sister and sat on their porch, vibes were great.

Part of me almost hesitated to leave a review because it feels like one of those hidden gems you want to keep to yourself but they absolutely deserve the recognition. The food tastes genuinely homemade: rich sauces, flavorful dishes, and pasta cooked perfectly. Nothing about it feels mass-produced or overly commercial. If you're expecting chain-restaurant Italian, this is in a completely different lane. One thing I really liked was the build-your-own pasta option being able to customize exactly what you want is such a win. Portions were generous, everything came out fresh, and you can tell care goes into the food.

Great food, really delicious. Portions are great size! Customer service is exceptional, very kind: gave me a free Coke Zero. Very clean and calm place, not too long for the food. Will be back again, the food was honestly very delicious.

It was our first time here. Food was delicious. Service was very good, super friendly and caring. The ambience was peaceful yet fun. There's a giant connect the dots to play, there's plants, music, and lights. We will definitely be back. My daughters ordered chicken Alfredo, they loved it. It's big portions so keep that in mind for kids. But hey they have leftovers for tomorrow. My husband and I created our own pasta. Both delicious! I got cheese tortellini with pesto sauce and cherry tomatoes. My husband made his own spaghetti. It's one thing to eat yummy fresh pasta, but having such great customer service enables it even better! I'm assuming the man was the owner. Next time I will ask for his name. Thank you for the Nutella bombs!

The moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile from the owners! You can tell that the passion for PASTA & Italian cooking runs through their veins with the best ingredients that you can literally taste! You can build your own pasta bowl starting at $14.99 or go with any of their signature pasta choices! You pick from 5 different types of pasta, 8 different types of sauces, pick as many FREE veggie toppings and an optional premium toppings such as meatballs, grilled chicken, shrimp, bacon. If pasta is not your thing? They got salads that hit the spot, very cheesy garlic bread and indulgent Italian desserts! What did I eat? - Spaghetti Chicken Parmesan w/ Basil - Fettuccine Truffle Mushroom Chicken w/ Spinach - Cheese Garlic Bread - Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad Portions a large! I really appreciate the freshness. With every single bite, you can't help but say this is GOOOOOOOOOOD! Whether you share pasta or take leftovers home, you will love what you order. I did! There is an outdoor patio and small dining area. Support this small family business and give these new pasta experts a chance.

This place is so new and has a great outdoor seating and play area! The staff is so friendly and was very helpful. I placed an online order and it sends updates as they finish. The meal is bagged very well, with utensils, extra cheese, and pepper. They offer build your own bowls with certain mix ins for free, and others at an additional charge. I ordered Penne Alfredo and added Chicken, spinach, extra garlic, basil, and chili flakes. It tastes amazing and the flavors are great! $20 is not a bad price and they provide a decent portion. I will definitely come again.

Phastarony absolutely surprised me in the best way. The fettuccine chicken alfredo was a 10/10. The sauce was rich, smooth, and easily one of the best I've had... and that's coming from someone who normally isn't even a fan of fettuccine alfredo. The garlic bread was perfectly toasted and packed with flavor, and the side sauce it came with was just as good. Another 10/10. We also tried the spaghetti chicken parmesan, and yeah... 10/10 again. Flavor was on point, and everything tasted fresh and well made. You can tell they actually care about quality here. Every dish hit. I'm honestly excited to come back and try more of the menu.

I was looking through new restaurants in the area this past Monday and found Pastaphony. There's an Italian spot nearby named Mamma Mia that I love but had to try this place out because they offer a Build-Your-Own (BYO) model of ordering that's very affordable! Here's what we ordered: **Penne with Butter Sauce: For my free toppings, I added basil, black olives, cherry tomatoes, garlic, spinach, and roasted peppers. For my protein, I opted out for their shrimp which costed an extra $5. Amazing. No further words needed. (5/5) **Fettuccine with Alfredo Sauce: For my free toppings, I added basil, cherry tomatoes, garlic, onions, parsley, and roasted peppers. For my protein, I opted out for their grilled chicken which costed an extra $4. Amazing. No further words needed. (5/5) **Cheesy Garlic Bread Sticks: YUMMY! The main thing restaurant lack is good bread but this place nailed it. There was a generous portion of cheese and garlic for this delicious, gooey treat. We had some hot and fresh which was delicious. We also had a piece later that evening when it was colder but it was still moist and so delicious! (5/5) WOW! Amazing food across the board. It was the first time we had pasta this good in a very long time. Not too salty at all and every single ingredient was so fresh. The shrimp was great but the chicken was cooked to perfection - so tender and moist even when cold! For the base price of $15 for a BYO minus the protein, the portions were MASSIVE. I had ordered online through their website via Apple Pay for an estimated pick-up time of 11:55 AM. When I arrived, the man working the shop gave me an ETA of 5 more minutes because they were busy for the lunch rush which was a-okay. The man offered me coffee on the house but I declined only because I had coffee waiting for me in the car already. 5 minutes go by and an additional 5 extra minutes but I was in no rush. Everything was freshly made to order and it was nice seeing him prepare my food right in front of my eyes. There is nothing more to say other than that this is a flawless and spectacular new pasta spot that I'd feel guilty to gatekeep. There are tables in side and a few outside but I think this spot is more designed for takeout orders. I will be returning again in the near future to try out more of their menu. Thank you for the great hospitality. Thank you for the flawless, affordable food. This will be my new go-to for Italian in the area. See you again soon, Pastaphony!

This is a new build-your-own pasta concept that just opened in Downtown Fullerton. You can DIY your own pasta by choosing the type of noodle, sauces like pink sauce or truffle cream, then any complimentary toppings--yes, you can get all of them if you want. I highly recommend adding on some premium protein, like the breaded chicken they can make into a chicken parm. But if you're indecisive like me, you can't go wrong with their signature pastas like the fettuccine truffle mushroom and spicy penne arrabiata. You can tell all the ingredients they use are so fresh and all their pasta sauces are handmade by the owners themselves. And their cheesy garlic bread goes SO hard. Thanks for reading! ^-^

Build your own pasta, same as the first time but portion was way bigger!

Writing this having now gone for the second time in a week! My gf and I had been looking for a good pasta place since moving to a nearby neighborhood and tried our luck here. All I have to say is WOW. It was decently priced for the high quality and large portions of food we received. The ingredients were fresh, food was flavored so well, and just really scratched the "Italian comfort food" itch without breaking the bank. It's a small, cute little corner spot with indoor/ outdoor seating in the heart of downtown Fullerton. The gentleman who greeted us both times was so incredibly sweet, shook our hands, and welcomed us back. It just felt warm, and like they take pride in making delicious meals. This is officially our new favorite go-to spot for amazing pasta! Will be back again and again, highly recommend!

The one waitress was on her phone when we walked in and seemed kind of bothered that we were interrupting. The location is kind of small so parties of 4+ might have an issue with seating. They didn't have a sampler "TOUR" like other restaurants, and I decided to go with the Fettucine Alfredo with Chicken, Side Meatballs and side salad. This is when the restaurant started getting busy. The salad arrived was less than to be desired and there was barely any dressing. She then dropped off the Meatballs that were cold and I asked to please send them back. Needless to say I was becoming slightly agitated due to being hungry. Then my main dish ordered was not Chicken Alfredo. The other people at my table said that their dishes were amazing. I was like, ill believe it when it comes. I am happy to say that when the dish arrived it was everything that I wanted, and she brought back the meatballs that were warm and her attitude seemed to improve as things got busier and the experience finished very well. Skip the salad and go straight for the main entree and you will not lose.

This review of Vinny's Italian Restaurant is long overdue. I've eating there about twice a week…read morefor the last 7 months and I've never been disappointed. The food is consistently tasty and plentiful. I've tried the pastas but my go to meal is a big bowl of Minestrone soup, salad with Italian dressing and to die for garlic bread. I try to eat more plant based, and the soup is chock full of delicious vegetables - I think Vinny said eighteen different kinds - and just enough ditalini pasta to satisfy my pasta craving without blowing my diet. There's a hint of hotness to it, just enough to set it apart from the chain restaurants. I don't like vegetables very much, but I know they are really good for me, so Vinny's Minestrone was a terrific find. For my cheat day, about once a month I splurge on Patsy's Tiramisu. I think she said the recipe came from Vinny's Mom. It is worth every decadent calorie. The fluffy whipped cream is light yet rich, sweet but not too sweet, just the perfect amount of wonderfulness that dessert should be, and sadly, often isn't. Finally, I have to mention the people that work there. I don't know exactly what goes on in the kitchen, but my food is always fast, abundant, and hot - unless it's supposed to be cold. I'll repeat the word delicious here, because it is. So Vinny and his kitchen team are A+. The servers are great. Leti and Laurie greet me by name, with big smiles. They remember my preferences. They are never too busy to call out thank-you and have a great day when I leave. Patsy, the owner, is often on the floor serving, too, and she has gone out of her way to check-in with me and ask after my well-being. I appreciate their kindness, which is ever-present during slow, and busy times of the day. Vinny's is not fancy, but it's warm and homey, and yes, here's that word again: delicious. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I have come to Ini a couple of times whenever I stop by the Orange County area, and my graduation dinner was no exception. What makes them so unique is their perfect balance between Asian flavors and Italian classics. Everything I have tasted here has been delicious and has exceeded my expectations. Something I appreciate, besides the aesthetic interior, is their unique selection of dishes ranging from innovative pizzas, creamy and original pastas, and bright, flavorful appetizers. Here are a couple of items that I want to shout out: First, the truffle honey bread. I really appreciated the crispiness of the cheese on top and the bounciness of the fluffy bread paired with the sweetness of the honey. It creates a very balanced bite that keeps you wanting more. The raw salmon appetizer was a huge hit with our table. The citrus paired very well with the salmon itself, and even though this is a common appetizer at many fusion restaurants, they really do it right. The beef carpaccio was a great fusion dish and a wonderful nod to the Asian flavors that inspired them. This is a dish I have ordered multiple times, and it always hits the spot. Out of all the pizzas, I enjoyed the mala lamb the most. It actually was not too spicy, with a nice peppery flavor. Sometimes lamb can be a bit overpowering; however, when topped with the mala honey, everything balanced out perfectly. I also want to note that I have never seen this flavor combination anywhere else, and I think it is definitely something you need to try if you are here. The short rib gnocchi was another favorite of mine. The gnocchi was fluffy and cloud-like and paired really well with the umami-rich, savory flavor of the short rib. The meat itself was very tender and pulled apart easily, making every bite delicious. There are other dishes I could mention, but I do want to shout out the scallop risotto. This one definitely surprised me, as I am not usually a big risotto eater. I appreciated the creaminess of the rice mixed with the scallop, and even though it was a cream-based dish, it did not feel heavy at all. The service was very friendly, and everything came out in a timely manner, which I especially appreciated considering we had a big group. Overall, I will always try to find a reason to come back here, as this place really does take the cake for me when it comes to Kei concept restaurants.
