Ooof, at the risk of sounding a bit snobby...do folks around here really consider this to be "great" Italian food? I actually drove from Roseville to try this place out b/c I LOVE Italian & this place had such glowing reviews (the made-from-scratch pasta being a big draw also). Arrived on a Wednesday evening at just before 6pm & only waited about 10 mins for a spot to open up inside (they do have outdoor seating as well). Waitress quickly stopped by, dropped off some focaccia bread & asked what I'd like to drink. After that...I waited. Make sure you have plenty of time to kill by the way, b/c the service here is on the slower side. My wine finally arrived about 15 mins later & I was asked what I'd like to eat. Inquired about the pear + cheese ravioli & was told that it was on the "sweeter" side, but also that it was popular & I would actually be getting the last order of it for the night. Decided to go for it. Funny enough, the food came out way faster than my glass of wine did. Here is where the real problem began though. The ravioli was undercooked & difficult to chew. Not al dente. The filling itself was definitely on the sweeter side, but outside of that, it was bland. The brown butter sage sauce didn't add much to it at all & I ended up having to rely heavily on the salt/pepper that were already placed on the table. This place is the epitome of hole in the wall! It is tucked away in an industrial area. (Keep your eyes open or you'll miss it). Pastosa by Lucia delivered in all aspects. It is a small establishment, but that didn't factor in with how well they treat their costumers. From the moment we walked in, we felt cozy. Focaccia bread is given when seated. Nice, fluffy, and warm. The staff is attentive and helped narrow down our decisions. Our starter was the calamari. Served with a nice cocktail and tartar sauce. The calamari was so crispy and not chewy. For our entrees, we ended up with chicken parm and and the classic lasagna. The sauces and noodles are all homemade, which made everything much more delightful. Everything was melt in your mouth delicious. The chicken for the chicken parm with so crispy and juicy and the lasagna was so soft and flavorful. ( kitchen staff also asked if we wanted to try their spicy sauce. Looking to go on a foodie adventure, my dad and I drove down to Pastosa by Lucia from Sacramento. This is definitely the perfect example of "don't judge a restaurant by its location". There was ample parking in the industrial parking lot and a steady flow of customers but they did a good job turning the tables over quickly. And the food was some of the best Italian I have had. To start, my dad and I split an order of the calamari, which was perfectly tender and breaded to perfection. We also each tried the minestrone soup that accompanied our entrées. The minestrone had great flavor and plenty of fresh vegetables. I ordered the gnocchi with chicken and pink sauce while my dad ordered the chicken Parmesan. He really wanted to try their lasagna but they were sold out by the time we got there. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection (aka not mushy) and the pink sauce had great flavor to it. My dad thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Parmesan and had plenty leftover for a second meal. We stopped by here for lunch a few weeks back and weren't disappointed. We got some seasonal lemon ricotta raviolis and they were amazing. All of the pasta here is freshly made in-house and comes with a choice of I believe, soup or salad. Solid 4 stars. I really enjoyed the pink sauce on my dinner, but my linguini was a little on the overcooked side and clumped together. Next time I would choose the pink space with either a penne or fusilli. The minestrone soup was fantastic, hearty and filled with an assortment of vegetables. My husband loved the fusilli with Calabrese sauce and said the meatball was really good. The focaccia bread is a great starter. The crab cakes are a pass. The restaurant itself is small and in an unassuming area. While this isn't the most romantic date night the restaurant is a solid place to grab some home cooked food! Pastosa By Lucia is my first choice when I'm craving Italian. I may live in Sacramento, but it's 10000% worth the drive for this amazing food. Not only does this cute, family owned and run restaurant serve fresh and flavorful pasta, raviolis, and more, but they also sell frozen pasta and ravioli (along with their sauces) that you can cook at home. This means I can enjoy a fresh meal at the restaurant and bring home plenty of extra to cook at home whenever the craving hits. They serve their meals with salad and focaccia and both are amazing! The house dressing is so good and the focaccia is great on its own and dipped into the dressing. After your first bite of bread you won't want to stop eating it! My personal favorite order is the butternut squash ravioli with the brown butter sage sauce. It's the perfect balance between sweet and savory. Last night after watching my great granddaughter do her thing at Impact Sports in Galt, we had dinner at Pastosa by Lucia! First off, I have to say that I don't really enjoy going out for Italian food because I come from a long line of Italian food. For me, the pasta is rarely served aldente and is disappointing. My granddaughter chose the restaurant and I was quite surprised by how good the food was! It's a gem of a find, tucked away in an industrial area not far from the freeway. The dining room is is small and intimate and at 6:30pm on a Tuesday evening was packed with about 4 parties waiting for seating. We decided to eat outside at their patio area at even though it was hot out, we were comfortably shaded with a nice breeze blowing by. Within minutes of seating ourselves, we were greeted by our server who handed us menus and took our drink order. No full bar but a small but nice selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. The menu consisted of a wide variety of hand made ravioli with a nice selection of complimentary sauces. They also make suggestions for paring pasta and sauces. Dishes come with focaccia bread and choice of soup or salad. All the pasta is handmade and cooked to perfection! I originally ordered linguine but was informed they ran out so I had the rigatoni in a spicy calabrese sauce and added a meatball for an additional $6. So worth it! My wife had the pear-cheese ravioli in a sage and brown butter sauce that was delicious. She also had a French onion soup that was pretty amazing. Overall, the experience was wonderful, the food was absolutely delicious, the service was friendly and efficient given how busy the restaurant was and it's great finding a hidden gem like this so close to home. All I wanted for my birthday was chicken parm. I made a post on Facebook and someone recommended this place. I live in Stockton so it was about a 20 min drive and it was worth it! It's just a cute place. The service was so fast! The food was AMAZING! I could have done without the pasta actually. Only down side was the breading came off the chicken and the soup wasn't very hot (but that's just me being picky) the food was DELICIOUS! I'll definitely be making the drive back! Nice family owned Italian spot. It's tucked away in an industrial area, would never guess it's there. Ambiance: cute, love the outside seating on a nice day. Service: attentive but a bit slow to get to order. We were told to sit at a table and wait to order. Took about 20 minutes. My sister came after us ordered at the counter. By the time her food came, I asked when can we order. They said our server would be out shortly. We still waited. Food: disappointed they ran out of chicken. The meatball was ok. Penne Brown Butter and meatball: the noodles were flat, only one meatball but tasty with cheese. I should have chose pink sauce since I was told after I ordered that chicken was sold out. Spaghetti with meatballs: perfect Fettuccini with chicken & pink sauce: amazing (this was my nephews order the one my sister ordered at counter) Zoodles with chicken in Alfredo sauce: perfect according to my sister Fettuccini with sausage & Alfredo sauce: just ok because no chicken (my son didn't like it without chicken) Bread: amazing and a hit If I would have known about the chicken I would have ordered something completely different. A friend who had been there before suggested the place, but I had my doubts that an any restaurant in Galt, (no offense to Galt) located in an industrial area, could offer delicious Italian food. I was wrong. Ordered the, "Crazy Lasagna" and it was absolutely yummy. Filled with sausage, salami & pepperoni, packed between tender layers of pasta, drenched in a finely crafted savory tomato sauce, this is a signature offering. Also, the volume of the food was quite plentiful, and my companions could not finish their orders and all needed take-home boxes. I completely devoured my order, since it was so tasty. Price is quite reasonable as well. The meal also came with a salad and a generous helping of homemade bread. (I used some of the bread to soak up all the remaining pasta sauce on my plate.) Found the staff to be very friendly. (I asked for some Tabasco sauce, since I like peppery flavored tomato paste, and the chef prepared a little spicy side sauce for me, which totally complimented the flavor, at no extra charge or extra attitude.) The restaurant atmosphere has a pleasant, locally owned and operated feeling, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. What a hidden gem! Pastosa by Lucia is tucked away in the industrial part of Galt, and at first the location and industrial vibe might throw you off, but trust me--the food makes it all worth it. We started with the fried zucchini, which was surprisingly well-seasoned and perfectly crunchy. The meatball appetizer was also really good--tender, flavorful, and comforting. The salad with their house-made dressing was fresh and delicious, and the focaccia bread deserves its own shout-out--so moist, fluffy, and just plain addictive. For pasta, we tried four different raviolis: butternut squash, mushroom, sausage, and artichoke heart, each with a different sauce (pink, brown butter sage, red velvet, and Calabrese). All of them were flavorful and well done, but the brown butter sage sauce stole the show--it was easily my favorite pairing of the night. We ended on a sweet note with their limoncello tiramisu, which was light, refreshing, and the perfect finish. On top of all that, the owners are so nice and clearly passionate about what they do, and the staff was super friendly and efficient. It really makes the whole experience warm and welcoming. Special shout-outs: Blushing Sprig provided the floral décor, which was so pretty and added to the vibe, and Clarity Crafted brought in custom rubber stamps for decorating, which was such a fun and unique touch. If you know me then you know that I love Italian food and I'm also a sucker for ravioli. I came across this place a while ago while passing through the area and so glad that I did. Pastosa By Lucia is a small family run Italian restaurant in an unassuming part of Galt. It's located in an industrial area almost tucked away and can easily be missed but should not be. They have been serving up homemade pasta, bread, sauces and desserts for a few years now and they recently made Yelp's Best New Restaurants of 2025 list. The interior is very welcoming and gives you that home feeling. The staff here are very friendly and open to offering their suggestions or what dishes are popular. The menu is a nice size, they offer about 12 different varieties of homemade ravioli as well as other homemade pastas, focaccia, soups, various appetizers and yummy desserts. Their roasted chicken ravioli in pink sauce is very good and quite flavorful. My recent go to is the rigatoni with the creamy pesto and garlic sauce. The noodles are cooked al dente and the two sauces paired extremely well together and with the pasta. I have been looking for a good pesto pasta and I definitely have found it. However, they do have several other sauces that I would love to try such as the Red Velvet (Tomato, fresh basil, olive oil) and Calabrese (Tomato, angus beef, homemade sausage) as those are some of their most popular sauces. I also want to work my way through their various ravioli, the Beef Tenderloin ravioli as well as the Bacon Cheeseburger ravioli are next on my list. Along with the yummy pastas I really love their homemade focaccia, it's soft on the inside while having a little crisp on the outside and has the perfect amount of oil and rosemary. One of the better focaccia breads that I have had. Their butter pecan cheesecake is also to die for, a must try!! Overall, this is a must try place when in the Galt area or if you're not in the area it's worth a little road trip to try. This small little Italian Gem came up when seeing what was available in Galt. We arrived in Galt late for family graduations. The signage for this place was minimum but we found it. They were fairly busy when we arrived. The ladies were all covering all parts of the restaurant and the outside seating. Food was good and we ended up liking each other's meal over our own choices. They were out of 2 items we were interested in, but we placed our orders. Choice of soup or salad came with the meal. The chicken noodle soup is not a regular item but it was delicious. The cheese tortellini and mushroom ravioli were both very tasty. Not too pungent as I have had in other restaurants. The side order of a meatball was a meal all on its own. It was huge! We were coming from Elk Grove and said it would be done around noon. I got a text before 11:30 that the food was ready. By the time we got there it had cooled down a bit. The outdoor area is surrounded by trees and plants to give it privacy as well as a garden feel. You can pair several sauces with various pastas. Your dish is served with a salad or soup plus you start off with a dish of warm focaccia bread. We dipped our bread in mixture of olive oil and the best balsamic I've tasted in a while. The service is impeccable, talk about customer first. You can sample the wine before you commit. They are extremely helpful with choice and food accommodations. This is one of our favorite places but you still have to work for it. I was disappointed this night. I got the minestrone soup and it was only warm. Come on I want my soup hot. Then I got the crazy lasagna and it was only warm to. I didn't say anything since I was really hungry but not happy. There were new employees to so maybe it's that. Not sure but you guys need to get them in order and back to great food. I didn't see our regular lady , I forgot her name but she wasn't there and not cooking either. What a gem! My husband and I came here for a late lunch. Our server was courteous and patient. We ordered ravioli, beef for me and spicy sausage for him. We also shared the fried zucchini and the Cabernet Sauvignon. The food is very tasty and portions are generous. The wine went very well with my beef ravioli. Today was the second time we have been to Pastosa and as before it was INCREDIBLE! My hubby ordered the beef ravioli with creamy pesto sauce and he said it was definitely 5s. I ordered the lasagna and let me tell you, it is the freshest, most delicious meat lasagna you will ever taste. It's like you can taste each individual fresh ingredient and it melds together in a beautiful way. The dinner came with focaccia bread which was delicious (you can ask for more) and a small house salad. The location is hidden, so it's not in a hot local area, but don't let that discourage you. I went here with a work colleague at the end of a very busy day. I was quite hungry so it was a pleasant surprise to go to this fine establishment. The pastas are plentiful and they even sell their own homemade pasta that you can take home. This place was recommended by my work colleague so I was all in. I ordered the chicken ravioli which came was some very tasty bread and a salad. The chicken ravioli was very delicious and light. The meal was a perfect pairing with the pasta rolls and salad. The place is small so no where out of the way to even stand and wait. We ended up getting water and bread outside in the 102 degree weather but waitresses were really nice and tag teamed our table once we were seated to make sure we were always good. There was 7 of us and I tried almost everybody's dish and they were all good! I won't go into everyone dish but I'll give you the highlights I remember. -Creamy pesto was a nice mix -was better than others I've tried. -Gf ravioli I don't think you'd be able to tell it's gf unless you knew. -The Minestrone soup was the best I've ever had, thick and chunky veggie soup with no noodles or beans. Gf I believe! The spicy pasta sauce was spicy!! Too hot for me to eat a whole plate of it but my coworker loved it. We are all hoping to return since the food was delish!
