Located in a strip shopping center near the center of Lodi this place might seem a bit sketchy at first, but the food and service are very good. The ambiance isn't anything beyond a basic deli without any of the frills or specialty touches. It's just plain and a bit worn. Primarily known for Italian food this is where it apparently shines. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Navigating the menu was a little awkward as everything seems customized, which is fine but takes a bit to figure it out. We ordered a meatball sandwich to share along with a bag of chips and two drinks. We had ordered a #6 which we were charged for, but didn't really get the supposed complimentary sides. No big deal. The meatball sandwich really didn't figure into that equation anyway. The sandwich made from scratch and warmed nicely with oozing mozzarella cheese was simply delicious. What impressed me most was it was not made with a red tomato sauce but rather a brown sauce. That's something one sees a lot in the Italian influenced communities in and around New Orleans. What's nice is the brown sauce doesn't overwhelm the tastiness of the meatballs which were plump and quite delicious. Have a lot of napkins as it gets messy. Overall it was a good experience. The place is unassuming from the outside but the food is pretty solid! You order at the counter and take your food to-go or seat yourself at a table inside. Self-service soda drinks as well. The staff is pretty nice and the food is a great price! The focaccia bread is delicious and tastes fresh. Can either get it with or without butter. Seems like majority of people get takeout instead of eating there. Parking seemed a bit tight in the area. But we would definitely be back when we're in the area. read more

I always appreciate this location because it seems like the food is that much better than the others. I absolutely love the soups that are offered here. Infact one of my favorites is the stew. It tastes juice the stew I make at home. Of course the focaccia bread is amazing as well. The salads are great and always taste fresh as well. There's something for you that is great tasting. Upon moving to Lodi from Stockton recently, I've found it tough to discover a reliable spot to eat that's both affordable and offers great service. I used to visit the Stockton Davinci's locations of various places, but even as a regular, I never felt welcomed. The staff there just weren't very friendly. That all changed when I started coming to the Lodi location of Davinci's. I'm now a die-hard fan! The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff here is genuinely wonderful. One person who really stood out was a young blonde woman who helped me during my visit. She was an absolute gem, warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful. I can't recommend Davinci's in Lodi enough. 10/10 for the tasty food and the outstanding service. I called and the young lady says " yes, our boxed ravioli is frozen"and doesn't include any sauce... really.. LMAO. . I told her read the advertisement on your menu...says nothing about being frozen. Also, they tell me they are out of garlic bread... really...5:00 in an Italian deli and ravioli is FROZEN,NO SAUCE,NO GARLIC BREAD?? I've been to this local spot in our town of a plenty of times, and while the restaurant has a cute style and the food selection is great, one employee is an absolute disaster. I don't know her name but she's always here and has blonde hair. Her fake tone and constant eye rolls are infuriating. She helps people out of order, even after i'd been in line for 10 minutes, which is not only utterly nonsensical but also off-putting and rude . The vibe's as depressing as a bad horror movie, and her attitude drives customers away. Fix the employee issue, and this could be gem. read more

I want to love this place, but it's far too inconsistent. Yesterday my $21.03 salad did not have the artichoke hearts, olives, or mushrooms I had ordered with it. The prior couple of times the meat and cheese was very skimpy, and the time before that they didn't include the beans. They had asked if we wanted the beans, we said yes, and alas no beans. When you are paying better than $20 for a salad it needs to be right. I called asked for a main office phone number and was refused. Prior on a few occasions when I've ordered a quart of green beans, I've been given a quart container that is about 2/3 full. In very disappointed in how this location is being managed. I've been to at least two other locations and have never had these issues. I recommend checking your order before leaving. I hope they can improve. read more

I just wanted to pick up something quick to go so I decided on a green salad. They were very quick to take my order. Their generous salad comes with a lettuce blend and your choice of homemade dressing. I ended up picking the Italian, which was heavy on the vinegar. I do enjoy the tartness of vinegar, but for those who do not, I would steer clear of the Italian dressing. They also give you an option to add garbanzo and kidney beans which added some protein and their homemade croutons. Although the croutons added texture and were seasoned well, they were a little rich in either butter or oil. Overall I was pleased with my healthy yet delicious choice. read more

Great atmosphere it look like it's going to be great.. bread is fresh but the skimp on the most important part the MEAT . They hardly put any meat the they pile high with shredded lettuce to make it look big. I ordered the pastrami on rye bread with Xtra meat and still almost no meat at all. And very expensive. Stopped in for lunch today.(2/8/23) There was only 1 lady there it got SUPER busy after I showed up. She did a fantastic job for it only being her. I ordered 2 chefs salads: Everything was delicious and fresh!! My MIL both had ranch it was very delicious! The meat had great flavor, which I myself don't like lunch meat in salads or beans but this was BIG exception! I ordered my daughter a small ravioli. Their raviolis in red sauce, buttered focaccia and basic Italian salad are staples and whenever I need comfort food, you know I'm getting take out for dinner: the stroganoff, the fettuccine alfredo...Yum! The only reason this didn't get five stars is because I had a super disappointing chef's salad yesterday. The meat had a bunch of gristle in it and it was lunch meat! Please get rid of this item from your menu. Your regular Italian Salad is 10x better. read more

Gross. Flavorless. My pesto was gray and the pasta was undercooked. After eating it I don't feel great either lol.

We frequent this establishment on a regular basis for some pasta and the chef's salad. We went today a purchased 2 chef's salads and we were extremely disappointed when we got home. The salads were at least 1/3 smaller than normal with no cheese and just a small amount of turkey and ham. I basically got a Styrofoam container with some lettuce in it. March 22,2018 I specifically put a request for 2 orders of number 10, got there 30min later to pick up my order and when I get to my work to look at the order they didn't fulfill my order correctly! She even read the order back to me at the end of the call. Turns out they filled it with 2 orders of #9. So when I called back to correct my order with the number 10 she said,"Well I CANT just give you the chicken. You have to pay for it!" Well duuuh but you messed up my order so why can't you just admit you messed up and GIVE ME THE CHICKEN! Then she charged me for plates $2.50 for 10 plates! They are foam plates! Nothing fancy! (06/29/17) Idk if we caught them at a bad time but this location was bad. Raviolis didn't taste like usual. Maybe they'd been sitting too long? Idk. Cleanliness was just plain terrible. The only table open (most tables had the chairs up 40 min prior to closing) was filthy with food on the floor and a used napkin on the table. Also the floor looked like it hadn't been mopped for over a week. If i stepped in here again and the place looked like that again I will just take my business elsewhere. read more

At one time this was the ONLY place to go for Italian food in Lodi, but something's changed. On my last two visits the marinara sauce was CONTAMINATED with Avocado. A non-issue for most bipeds, but I have a potentially fatal avocado allergy. Shame on DeVinci's for failing to disclose they changed their recipe. Fortunately tonight I caught the problem after one bite as my cheeks immediately got puffy, and my airway started to close so I was able to avoid an expensive trip to ER. Or a funeral, which is at least as expensive. read more
