We booked reservations about a month in advance for our five-year anniversary. We arrived 10 minutes early and were taken to a lounge with a small bar. The decor was well thought out, the music matched the vibe, and we enjoyed drinks while waiting. Unfortunately, waiting became a theme throughout the evening. We started wondering if we'd been forgotten and were seated about 15 minutes after our reservation time. Despite there being only two of us, we were placed at a large round five-top in the middle of the room in a heavy-traffic area. I commented, "Wow, this is a big table," and the hostess laughed and walked away. It was an odd choice for an anniversary reservation made a month in advance. Our server was pleasant whenever she was at the table. They gave us a cute anniversary card and complimentary sparkling wine, which was a thoughtful touch. We ordered about 10 minutes later, and the complimentary bread was very good. We started with the caviar and lobster, both good. However, the heavily seasoned chips served with the caviar didn't make sense. If you're spending $98 on caviar, you should be able to taste it rather than have it compete with an aggressively seasoned chip. A neutral option for tasting the caviar would be much better. Next were the carpaccio and fried squash blossoms. The carpaccio was overdressed with too much oil and sauce. The squash blossom breading was overly crunchy, taking away from the dish, and they were also very bland. I was particularly disappointed because I've had squash blossoms at other restaurants and was excited to see them offered in Lodi. Then came a very long wait for our entrées. I'm not sure whether it was kitchen timing or when our order was entered, but the delay was excessive. During the wait, our busser, who was very kind, accidentally cleared our caviar while we were still eating it. We tried to stop him, but the restaurant was so loud he thought we were talking about the silverware. They replaced the caviar when they realized what happened, which was unexpected and very appreciated. My husband's filet looked a little sad sitting alone on the plate, but it was cooked exceptionally well and tasted great. My scallops were also cooked perfectly, but unfortunately so heavily seasoned that the seasoning overwhelmed them. Surprisingly, the chopped cauliflower was the best part of the plate, followed by the purée. I took most of the scallops home because the strong flavors made them difficult to finish. After our entrées, we waited again because we wanted dessert. When our server finally came by, we asked for a dessert menu. She then went to other tables, got drinks for another table, and spent time talking with staff directly behind us. This seemed to be a regular gathering spot throughout the evening, sometimes with five or more employees standing together socializing. We eventually asked the busser for the dessert menu. He was busy handling several other things but ultimately brought one. We ordered carrot cake and chocolate cake, which thankfully arrived in about five minutes. The carrot cake was excellent. The top two layers of the chocolate cake were good, but the bottom was awful. By this point we were exhausted. Dinner had taken considerably longer than anticipated, and the other patrons seated around the same time as us had left long before. Our server was again socializing with the group behind us, so we waved down the busser for our check. It was brought over, but no one returned to collect it. Rather than continue waiting, my husband finally got up, walked over to the group of employees and asked to pay and have our remaining food boxed so we could leave. There were highlights. The atmosphere was nice, our server was pleasant when she was at our table, the busser was kind, the anniversary touches were thoughtful, and several items were cooked extremely well. But for a $488 dinner for two, I expected a considerably more polished experience. At this price point, details matter. The excessive waits, inconsistent seasoning and execution, lack of attentiveness and table maintenance, unusual seating, and frequent staff socializing detracted from what should have been a special anniversary dinner. There is a lot of potential here, but the food and service need more refinement to match the price point.

Reservation is a must ! First come first serve parking and it gets packed! The seating can be inside or outside, there are 2 bars . This place is nice! Music is playing and the lights are turned down but you don't need a tie. Every single person who works there is on top of their game , this new old school steakhouse is exactly what you think it is , excellent! The staff cares about you personally, we ordered drinks that were delicious and a dozen oysters, the house vinaigrette was out of this world, the portions are big! Consider sharing , we shared a Caesar salad, and let me tell you , it was fantastic! I ordered the aged ribeye, steak, cooked, medium rare and its flavor was out of this world! Cooked perfectly, my wife ordered the lasagna we also ordered the ganache. It's was all delicious, we ordered to much , hats off the the chefs and their kitchen staff . Is this place cheap? Nope! Is it worth it , yes 100% , treat yourself and head out to Jimmys, 100% recommend

Petite salad: peaches, heirloom tomatoes, red onion, basil, feta.

Think: Classic Italian Steakhouse meets American Supper Club. Jimmys is owned by the same family that owns Pietro's in Lodi. But Jimmys is more of a classic Italian steakhouse with a dark moody 1950s vibe inside. They serve massive premium steak cuts, and à la carte sides and appetizers which can be shared. The service is as you would expect at an upscale Italian restaurant: polished, professional, and attentive. Everything was so good, from the bread service, to the drinks, the sides and appetizers, and of course, the steaks. Give the petite salad a try, it has peaches, heirloom tomatoes, red onion, basil, and feta. It's a refreshing twist. The shrimp in the shrimp cocktail are enormous. And the Dr Suess Special is a different elote style corn side. The steaks are premium, expensive but worth the price. The American wagyu ribeye was extremely tasty, rich, and marbled. I tried a bite of the scallops, and they possessed a deep umami flavor. All items were perfectly cooked. I'd recommend eating inside for the best supper club experience although there is outside patio seating. The restaurant is small, cozy, and most patrons dress up. I am 100% coming back. Highly recommended!

    Amalfi 10/10

We had a reservation for two people. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was an absolute 10/10. We started at the martini bar with a delicious cocktail, I highly recommend the Amalfi. We were seated right on time, and the service was great. From the host to the bartender to our server, everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. For dinner, we ordered steak (rib eye & filet) and sides. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sides (Dr. Seuss special and mashed with gravy) were shareable and delicious. Perfect spot for date night. We will definitely be back!

I want to preface this as an HONEST review after my experience this evening, with the intent to provide genuine feedback to improve the business. Given that it is the second day, I will award 3 stars, as Jimmy's can only improve. ORDER: Chicken on the bone with mashed and gravy, 8oz prime filet, gnocchi and gelato dessert POSITIVES: -The customer service was phenomenal. Within minutes of an accidental drop of food, the busser came to clean up to ensure our table was always clean. -Warm welcome. I thought it was such a unique and inviting welcome. Something I've yet to experience anywhere else. -The idea for a palette cleanser with the strawberry sorbet is unique and was phenomenal! Much needed, too! - Gelato was wonderful and the addition of the cocoa powder made it a whole different experience. OPPORTUNITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: -the dividers between the tables were very dusty. Easily missed but something to remember, as they are at eye level when seated so it is very obvious. -Filet steak was VERY salty and to be honest, not great. I wouldn't order it again personally as it was on par with an Applebees steak to me personally. -My husband is vegetarian but the menu was not very vegetarian friendly. If you tried hard, you can make it work but you won't get a very nutritious or hearty meal if you are vegetarian or vegan. -Tap water taste was not great. I'm generally not picky about water but it was not good at all. - We noticed everyone got bread except for our table. They had taken away our plates and napkins already as we waited for our entree so we were confused. We asked and they promptly brought it out but we didn't have plates or napkins or a knife to cut it with so we had to eat with our hands. They placed a napkin down for the steak plate as a pot holder; however, they didn't explain what it was for and since they took away our napkins, I used it as a napkin but they came back and said "no this is for your steak"...okay? Ya, so I put it on my lap to eat but they never explained it was to protect the table from the hot dish. It clicked when they brought out the food but I recommend maybe using something else or bringing it out with the steak to avoid confusion or explaining better. OVERALL: It was a good atmosphere. The food is not worth the price in all honesty with the foods we got. I'm sure it will improve overtime. The service was superb and I came here to support a new local business but probably won't return until they've established more ground and the food quality/ dietary inclusivity improves. I had a great experience because the staff made it a warm and inviting place and for the overall vibe, I would return, but not for the food. I hope this review is received with the intent I had in mind to truly give honest feedback to help this business flourish. I feel 3 stars is fair because I realize my palette is not encompassing of all taste buds but the overall experience was wonderful and while this was opening week, I feel this place will truly take off!

Another beautiful gem in Lodi! Beautiful on so many levels. The creativity and details throughout did not go unnoticed. The Amalfi and my Halibut are my two favorites so far. Can't wait to try more. Congratulations to the Murdaca family for another home run!

The anticipation for opening night was high, unfortunately it did not meet expectations. However, we have to give them some grace considering they just opened. We will definitely be back to give them another shot. The food was incredibly salty, transparently we couldn't finish any of the dishes served. There wasn't enough depth or layering of flavor it all kind of fell flat. On top of that the steak was served before the side dishes we got to pair with it. We were half way through our steak when the rest of the food came. You can tell the seafood is very fresh we had the seared scallops and wagyu steak (it was grilled to perfection) but again the execution just wasn't there. For the amount we spent I expected better. Service was satisfactory nothing to write home about. On a positive note, ambiance and drinks were a 10/10 no questions about it. Great addition to Lodi.

Amazing restaurant! Couldn't wait to try it. Arrived without a reservation and they were booked, but was able to be seated at the bar. Bartenders were amazing and very informative. Great recommendation. All were spot on. Loved the food and the experience! The staff was warm, welcoming. 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommend and can't wait to come back. Jimmy's is the place to have a memorial meal. Thank you!

    Oysters
    Kristin R.

The service was good. Lead server was very sweet and personable but our assistant server Brody did an outstanding job. Filling up our water, cleaning our table, he was always there if we needed him. Ambiance was incredible, love the little photobooth areas! The food menu choices are small and I hope that this changes. Our lead server recommended the Crispy Squash Blossoms and Mozzarella sticks. Who comes to fine dining for mozzarella sticks? So we tried the Squash Blossoms and we were dissatisfied. No flavor. Highly recommend a dipping sauce to go with them. Oysters were perfect size and they had an amazing vinaigrette. The waygu steak was good. For $181 we got oysters, a fried flower with cheese and no flavor, and a pretty decent slizzing waygu steak. Not worth the hype. Probably won't be going back until they update the menu.

A cancellation charge for them double booking on my wife and I's anniversary.. seems interesting
    B C.

I'll let you guys decide: I booked a reservation for my wife and I's 5th year anniversary. The day of the reservation I called to confirm, and they didn't have me booked on their side (I had an email confirmation on my side of the booking). Mind you this is a few hours before the special occasion... I then receive a phone call receiving last minute information that they double booked me for Pietro's instead of Jimmy's.. I then learn the table is outside (too hot etc..) and if I didn't call, none of this would have gone smoothly. So I decided to cancel my reservation and go elsewhere where I know the most stressful part of surprising someone on an anniversary day (the reservation and preparation) would be eliminated. As I called to cancel, they then actually decided to charged me $50 for the cancellation! Complete joke of customer service and you would think their would be some understanding on their part. If I didn't call to confirm, or showed up with no reservation on their end, would they owe me $50? Maybe a one off, but this is not how you handle it when you know the oversight came from you..

Such an amazing experience I had tonight here at Jimmy's! The food was absolutely delicious, and the servers were so kind and welcoming. I had such a great time and would definitely come back again! :)

The Palm and Peach Basil Soda
    Joretta B.

Excited to see what the buzz was about. Great ambiance except the acoustics are such it's difficult to carry on conversation. Service was excellent. Greeted and escorted every step of the journey. Greeters, hostess, escort to your table beyond the martini bar door. Feels exclusive. Squash blossoms were excellent, crispy, hot and stuffed with cheese. A bit disappointed in the petite salad. They just changed to figs which were a little too firm for my taste and the tomatoes lacked flavor. Entrees were good. Lamb Frities were great. Fries are hot salty and fresh. I had 4 lamb chops cooked and seasoned well. The chocolate cake dessert was rich and yummy. We each tried a non alcoholic beverage. The Palm which had a nice little spicy bite to it and the Peach basil soda which was refreshing.

Jimmy's is the new hot spot of Lodi. Everything from the food, customer service, ambience, and aesthetics is a 10/10. We went to celebrate my daughter's 22nd birthday and it was amazing. The old school music and decor was beautifully crafted. I only took a star away because of the drinks. For as expensive as the drinks are they don't measure up to the price. Unfortunately I had to send two drinks back. The other drinks tasted good but lacked the actual alcohol. Would I go back to try it again yes. However I'll be careful on the drinks I order.

The food itself was very flavorful, so taste was not the issue. Unfortunately, the temperature was. The steak was barely warm, and both sides were completely cold. My dining companion and I were starving and on a limited schedule, so we did not want to spend additional time trying to flag someone down and waiting for the food to be reheated. Instead, we waited--and waited--for our server to return so we could ask for boxes. We ultimately took the food home to reheat and eat later, which is obviously not the experience you expect when dining at a restaurant. That brings me to the service, which has also declined over my last several visits. Our server never checked in after the food was delivered. Had she stopped by shortly after we began eating, we could have addressed the temperature issue and possibly had enough time to enjoy the meal properly. Instead, she was nowhere to be found until the end. I am not sure whether the food is sitting too long before being picked up or if the kitchen is not monitoring temperatures properly, but something needs to be corrected. Servers should also check on their tables at least once during the meal--not only return at the end when it is time to bring the check and collect a tip. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because I know this restaurant is capable of providing a much better experience.

Always a good sign. We were quickly seated in their covered patio area. The seating was quite comfortable. The staff were prompt and attentive. I ordered the Potatoe Platter. Probably not the healthiest of choices but who can deny a heaping platter of country style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, bacon, onions, and topped with melted cheese. I mean seriously. I ordered mine with eggs and ordered the pancake instead of toast, more on that later. To say this is a hearty meal would be the understatement of the year. Try as I might, I packed over half of this delicious dish for breakfast the following day. Judge me if you must, but I measure all pancakes against the gold standard of pancakes, McDonalds. The Avenue Grill offered a solid pancake, light, fluffy with a slight snap, every bit a worthy competitor to my favorite. Before I knew it, the pancake was gone. My wife ordered the French Toast. Want we loved about the Avenue Grill is sometimes you just want good, simple food and this was the case with the French Toast. Based on a light Sourdough, the french toast had good flavor and came together nicely with the syrup. All in all, we absolutely loved Avenue Grill. If you're ever in the Lodi area, Avenue Grill is worth a visit.

It's set in a nondescript strip mall & the restaurant itself is small with outdoor seating with space heaters but we three sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait at all for a table. It's very casual yet chill ambiance. Parking is free & there is only one restroom for the entire restaurant. So plan ahead. My son & I had the Denver omelettes with sourdough toast. My wife had her usual veggie omelette with no cheese but with sourdough toast. When we were served our breakfast our faces lit up literally bc of the massive amount of food. And that's an understatement! We ended up with boxes to go bc there was so much food on our plate. Crazy amount! You can be sure we would return! Can't wait!

It's contemporary and the furnishings are quite comfortable. It's the type of place you can settle in and have a casual meal without feeling rushed. Prices are high yet the quality is excellent. For the first evening at the bar we settled into a high top table. You can sit at the bar, lounge type seating or outdoors on a pleasantly shaded patio. They had an expanded bar bites menu as the main restaurant is closed on Wednesdays... most of it quite enticing. We opted for cocktails to start and I chose a specialty Date Maple Old Fashioned. It was really good with a large ice ball to chill it. For bar bites we shared the pork belly sandwiches (small, delicious but messy to eat), the sausage skewers (amazing!) and crab cups (refreshingly light and easy to eat). After cocktails we had glasses of a light white wine, made with Santorini Greek grapes. For the next meal in the dining room the place was a buzz with activity but conversation was easy without a lot of excessive noise. It's intimate and the room is quite pleasant for a gourmet meal. We started with cocktails (same Old Fashioned) and shared the grilled Brussels Sprouts which were plentiful and ever so delicious. They were slightly over grilled for my taste yet it didn't distract from me enjoying them. We got bread which was a baguette with butter and the consistency perfect for a French style loaf. For my entree I debated between the scallops and the pork chop and went with the chop. I was quite pleased as the chop came in thick slices and drizzled with a tarragon mustard reduction sauce. It was amazing, tender, juicy and at 22oz I couldn't finish it all. It came with a tasty apple sauce and grilled seared cabbage. Absolutely delicious. Ed, celebrating a birthday, had steak which came with a huge bowl of mashed potatoes which I tasted. Oh my gosh, the creamiest potatoes ever! For dessert we shared the cheese plate, a really great way to end the meal, with glasses of a twany port. All of the cheeses from a brie to a hard cheese were top quality. Service both times was very attentive, professional yet personable. We were well cared for and everything went smoothly. It's expensive yet the experience and value is worth visiting. Make a reservation.

After a moment of awkwardness the hostess asked if we had a reservation and we said "Yes at 6:00". We were then promptly seated. Our waitress was terrific, I forget her name but she had tattoos on her arms. Wonderful gal. The spicy sausage appetizer was the best part of the meal then it went to shit. The filet was a BEAUTIFUL piece of meat cooked to an absolutely prefect medium rare. However there was no flavor. Believe me when I say it must've had four grains of salt and that was it. No pepper no fucken nothin. Some poor Mignon cow lost his life for this bullshit. Like it was just a piece of meat with no seasoning. I almost asked for some A-1 just to choke it down. The mashed potatoes or excuse me "potato fucken purée" was average at best. Wife found her Salmon to be mid. For dessert we took the chocolate cake thing, and the strawberry cheesecake to go. The chocolate cake was like a 7/10 and the cheesecake was just like three separate piles of fuckery. Like the ingredients were just piled in the box waiting for assembly. It was the weirdest shit I've ever seen in my life. I should've taken a picture of it. Oh yeah the asshole piña colada wasn't blended it was just on the rocks with a nice paper fucken straw to slowly add some smoked wood flavor to my adult beverage. For $200 (plus tip mind you) this meal should've knocked my fucken socks off. Good lord this place needs some SERIOUS help. I can tell that the cooks know what they're doing but fuck man season the damn food. So in closing 1)season the food 2)ditch the paper straws 3)and blend the fucken drinks Oh I forgot to mention "ambiance". Think of a double wide from the 1970s with the floor vent collecting food crumbs under me then blowing air up my skirt. It was a nice touch.
