Great food, super family and a great option for barbecue in the area. We've liked everything we've ordered. Recommend to all we know!

Very good food. Will be back! Why do I need 85 characters to post this review. That is the stupidest thing I've heard of.

My buddy opted for the Spicy Smash. The burgers were mmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm great, Juicy and the bun held up. Fries were fresh and would like to see maybe a topping or poutine option for them. Cool spot to get some AC and great burger before a Smokies game or a night in the old City.

SmashCity wasn't far off of the interstate, it had good ratings and although we'd been eating burgers and fries quite a bit on this roadtrip, a good burger and fries really sounded good. All of the reviews were right on - this was absolutely NOT fast food - it was fast, really fast, but the speed was just bonus. As we usually do, we split. We chose the Carolina BBQ smash. The burgers were juicy - if you're not careful, I guarantee you'll be wearing it. Two critiques, it definitely needed more sauce - I just added some of the SmashCity sauce from our fries and it worked but I really would have liked to have had more BBQ sauce. Second, the fried onions were quite burned. I pulled off most of them. The hand cut fries were piping hot, just the right amount of greasy and seasoned perfectly. Splitting the burger was a good call - I'd never have eaten the whole thing myself. The burger and fries were just over $20. When you consider a Big Mac meal at that clown place is $14, SmashCity is almost a bargain. Paul, the owner was like the energizer bunny - he was everywhere at once. Personality oozed from his pores. Make sure you tell him Sue said hi! (He won't remember me but just say hi anyway!) Now I wouldn't say SmashCity has the best burgers - that award goes to our friend Jerry. He makes a pretty mean smash burger on the blackstone. If you have an extra half hour, skip the fast food burger joints, get off that highway, and go let Paul fill your belly for the rest of your trip! You'll appreciate it!

There are few relationships more meant to be than a beer and a tasty burger. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu. There was lots of options to build your own burger with a variety of cheeses and topping, but we decided to order one of their signature offerings. I can't say no to a patty melt and I was intrigued by their twist of sriracha thousand island dressing. The burger was cooked well and placed on top of a texas toast style bread. I missed the traditional rye that comes with patty melt, but only for a second. The flavors were really great, and the onions were cooked perfectly. The slight spice from the sriracha was a brilliant addition! We also ordered a side of seasoned crinkle cut fries. While they are just frozen fries, they are really well seasoned and came with a little cup of ranch dressing. Our entire meal was really tasty, and the third pound burger and fries were perfectly sized for my husband and me to share with our beers. What was even better than the food was the service. They were friendly when I ordered and the owner made it a point to bring our food to our table. Throughout the evening he roamed the tables to make sure their food was great. He clearly cares about the quality of the food he serves and the experience that it offers. I will certainly keep my eyes out for this food truck while out and about!

Great burgers and non pretentious atmosphere. Good service and welcoming attitude. Two thumbs up.read more

The food was solid and the prices were fair. If you're trying to decide between onion rings and fries go onion rings, they're made to order and outstanding. Since I had the burger the day before I tried another option. So I ordered the Southern Clucker, a fried chicken sandwich with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, and jalapeños. I wasn't as impressed with the chicken as I was with the other location's burger. The chicken was fairly tough and chewy and the piece was smaller than the bun it was sitting in, so it was literally tough to eat. The bun and vegetables were fresh though. I loved the onion rings. Best seasoning I've had on fries or onion rings in a long time, and the waitress brought some ranch which helped even more! Because the locations seem consistent, I'll also give the Powell location 4 stars. Great sides, good buns, but not without their faults. Looking forward to trying the fried fish in future.

I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer only to have it delivered with batter so thick you could not find the tomato, and the batter had a fishy taste like the grease had also been used for frying fish. They were just not edible. When the waitress came to ask us how we enjoyed them, I told her there was too much batter and the grease tasted fishy. She didn't say a word, turned and walked away. You could tell her "How was it?" Inquiry was automatic and not a genuine concern for how the customers were enjoying the meal. It didn't get better. My grilled pork chops were tough, overcooked, and lacking any flavor. I could only eat one of the two provided. The pinto beans lacked any seasoning, but the coke slaw was good. My wife's pork chop was fried, and was better. It was cooked as it should have been. But her Mac and cheese was gummy and had an odd flavor. The cornbread was dry and not good. A friend who ate with us had Country Fried Steak. He said the steak was passable, but the gravy was disappointing. No onions at all in the gravy. This was not a good eating experience, and with the waitress's attitude, it was an almost a total flop. The sign at the entrance tells it all.
