They used to be good. Now they seem more of a sandwich shop. Out of Ribs on an Early Tuesday. I rarely see the smoker in use.

The staff is always so friendly. Great food and great service!! It's hard not to stop when you drive by and smell the meat smoking!!

The food is awesome! It is convenient to call in and pick it up on your way home. The service is always just right!

I was in the area and saw this place had five stars so I decided to stop in. The outside appearance wasn't welcoming and I was confused when I pulled up because the front only said bbq. There was a smoker to the right so I assumed this is it and walked in. It looked like a hole in the wall because of the appearance outside and inside but I was immediately greeted by a older male with no mask who took my order. Plus the hole in the walls usually are hidden gems. There were so many selections but I already knew what I wanted. I ordered the catfish and "jumbo smoked wings". Both were disappointing. The catfish was fresh, hot, seasoned, and tasted really good however were the size of a fish stick. It was gone in one bite. The wings were not smoked or jumbo. They were hard, dry and tasteless. It didn't taste like chicken at all and like it was refried. Don't let my wonderful camera lens fool you from the picture. They also placed a "hot" sauce on top that was not hot and tasted just like ketchup. I actually spit it back out after biting into it. It was thrown away immediately. The bathroom was out of order too so I had to go to another place. The outdoor seating is not clean and doesn't look sanitized so we ate In the car but it's nice it was offered. If you decide to stop here during your road trip get the catfish but know you'll need at least 6 pieces for a full filling serving. Or just find another spot period! read more

Prefect little bbq and country cooking for these Covid times. It is very clean with only outdoor dining and carry out. We got bbq. The meat has a good flavor, slaw, soup beans and fried okra are all good. All the fried food is made to order, hot and fresh. The people couldn't be friendlier. read more

Picked up a family meal (without calling ahead, it was our first time - the owner was super cool about it tho). Amazing deal, it fed the three of us twice. The flavor of the pulled pork was amazing. The ribs were the best I've had since Memphis. The hush puppies were great too, same with the fried green tomatoes. We're gonna make this a regular stop on the way home. read more

Worth the quick detour. Loved the ribs and Mac and cheese. Pulled pork was also tasty and moist. Super friendly people.

When arriving to TN this time last year we were looking forward some BBQ places and behold one not to far from us. Every place is gonna be different some fancy setups and some hole in the walls. This is your hole in the wall type place but their are always diamonds in the rough and this place may not look it is a great place. First time we went in we bought multiple items on the menu to get a good feel of what they offer and let me tell you, the ribs great, fish awesome, philly amazing. Not surprised that this place has yet to be reviewed, it's a small little joint out in the strawberry plains area of (east) Knoxville. While you might miss the location, the smell of the smoker will definitely catch your attention (probably after you pass it). This is a shame, because this place deserves to be recognized. The owner is very nice, and most importantly, he makes some great BBQ, period. My wife and I have had many of his sides and they're all great (especially the hush puppies). We even tried one of his brownies on our last visit and now those are staples for us. This is your mom and pop style bbq place that is nowhere in Knoxville area. They have true southern bbq that is smoked. And they actually use their smoker out front. You have a older guy that does an awesome job running this place. The food is the best. I had the hushpuppies and can't get these anywhere in Knoxville. It is a small place that is not marked well but look for the smoker out front. Try the smoked burger; it rocked! You won't be disappointed. Just note there is only one older guy that runs it. He lives close by and doesn't have a lot of staff. I went there at times and he opened late. This is truly a mom and pop place with the best bbq. Absolutely some of the best tasting ribs around. The service is always great. If you have time to hang around you learn all about the history of the area from the owner. 75 years and still going strong. I have never had a bad experience going here. Tried it out today since it is close to home. Ordered a small and large beef brisket sandwich (two thin slices of tough as leather beef, with a quarter size amount of barbque sauce that was soaked into the bun) the only difference between the amount of beef of the small and large sandwich was the size of the bun. Asked for extra sauce to go and was told the sandwich was already pretty saucey (what a joke) and got two small containers of sauce thank goodness.The cole slaw was really good..baked beans were nothing special more like canned beans, and the potato salad was your local grocery store flavor. The beef on the sandwich had NO barbque smoke flavor whatsoever and I had a hard time chewing it. Will not be going back. There is no seating and the restroom had a out of order sign on it. The place looked junky. I WILL NOT be going back. read more
