I rarely write any reviews. But, this time I want people to know how to be extra careful at the cash counter at Patidar at East Windsor. We used to shop a lot here before COVID. But after COVID, almost every time I visited this store, the cashier cheats on items. I mean, the items are billed but did not make it to the bag. When I reach home, I can't find the item. For example, today when I asked if this is Sag? the cashier said "no but I will bring for you" and took the bunch of leavy vegetable and also spinach bag which she already billed and bought only sag back. I did not realize at store as I was rushing to come home. And when I opened the bags, there is no spinach which is supposed to be two bunches. I don't think this will happen at any other store. This is not the first time happened. It was my mistake to visit this store. I will avoid this store, but if you want to shop here monitor carefully at the cash counter. read more

Very Neatly arranged. All items are easy to find for a husband when his wide gives a list of groceries.. LOL Staff is very helpful. I asked for kokum which is a rarely used product and they have two different kinds and the lady get it for me from the aisle. Thank you. read more

What a great store. As an Indian Food cooking newbie I could not have asked for a better introduction. The produce was vast and beautiful. Of course there were products I have only seen there and not my regular store. Some items we're definitely new to me. The ladies that helped me were very nice and answered all my questions. The store was easy to get around, well labeled and more importantly clean. I'm. glad the check out person signed me up for the frequent buyers club because I will be returning often!! read more

I am not of Indian or Pakistani decent; however, I am a huge fan of their food, produce and spices. This grocery market is wonderful for those who are adventurous enough to try new things at home. The vegetables and fruit at much more reasonably priced than any other grocery stores in the area. Also, they have amazing spices!! They have outrageous oils, like mustard oil, coconut oils, ghee (clarified butter) and other nut oils. They also carry excellent snacks if you're willing to try new things; like spiced chickpeas, fried peanuts, and tea cakes. If you're into incense, they have a wide selection of incense to choose from too. They have a huge selection of rice and beans and lentils too. I love it here. Oh yeah! Don't forget to check the back area of the refrigerators for their mango lassis! So good. read more

My go-to grocery store in eastwindsor for all things Indian. Prices are good, selection is wide and service is (usually) helpful ('always helpful' would have gotten them the 5th star). A great place to go for nuts (cheap...especially in the larger bags), spices (you'll never buy McCormick's again) and Indian snacks (I've recently been introduced to things like bhel puri and sev). Lots (almost too many) choices of everything but I've found that your fellow customers are very happy to help choose from the many brand of the same items (imagine a non-westerner in an american supermarket trying to choose a bottle of ketchup or a bag of potato chips...he could spend hours). Tons (literally) of rice, freezers full of ready made dishes, and (for you connoisseurs) imported Coca-Cola (made with real sugar), Fanta and some Indian brand soda can be found in the back right corner. read more

Do yourself a favor and drive the extra few miles to Patel Brothers . This used to be a great store but has gone dramatically downhill. Staff couldn't be bothered helping me locate items, almost as though they were doing me a favor by being open. I can spend my money elsewhere. read more

This store used to be extremely clean and well kept. Never had an issue with the quality of the items. But in the past two months almost everything we have bought has been rotten, looks clean from the outside but dirty and not edible. Closed packs- especially dry fruit and Daal (Lentils) such as Almonds have worms and spiders in them. This is not a one time incident but multiple times. Every time we ask to speak to a manager we get the same story that they are not in and someone will reach out to us, but it has not happened. Rest assure that this is the last time we will be shopping at this location. For those of you who do go, please wash everything before consumption. read more

We were recently referred to this place by our close friends and it is the best Indian store we have found in the area! We go to Indian groceries a lot and this place is not just better stocked than most, but we also seem to be treated better than most places when checking out, the cashiers have been very friendly every time. It is clean, well organized, it has everything we ever tried to find. I am really into different flours, and this is a dream come true. They have an entire isle dedicated to different flours and flour mixes, including all kinds of non-wheat, non-rye flours. And the "specialty" flours are much better priced than I find them in health food stores. The spices are a lot better priced than at standard supermarkets, and so are nuts and legumes. Their produce also tends to be cheaper, I often stock up on cheap herbs and greens there. They nearly always have a some sort of frozen food sale going on so we have been getting 2-person meals for $2. You can always find a huge variety of frozen meals for $1.99, and the quality of everything we tried has been great. I highly recommend this place. read more

Wide selection of items. Pricing is similar to Patel Brothers on Princeton-Hightstown road in East Windsor. But the only complaint I have is some items are not labelled properly. For example the biscuits/cookies put in bins. Some of them did not have prices. And some of them have different sizes put in the same bin where the bigger ones are higher price than smaller ones, but the labelling is just for the small ones. This is annoying as we have to go back and find the right size to avail the deal. read more

Awful customer service. I bought a Haldiram frozen paneer tikka product which when opened had fungus in it. When I took it to return the lady on the counter firstly was rude and then she showed me that we do not return the frozen products as per our policy, I explained I am not returning the product for any reason, it is rotten and they need to stand by what they are selling and can return back to the supplier. She called another guy(probably works in the store) and he had a look at it and in his most rude attitude just dumped the box on the counter. I felt so bad. It would not cost me much; I will go to IGO which is very near to my place and have way better people to deal with. But just a reminder to all who have returns, prepare yourself for a bad customer service and an awful experience read more

My recipe needed curry leaves. I never knew such things existed and I found an even better solution at Patidar in East Windsor / Hightstown . I popped into the place on the off chance not really expecting to have them. They did! And more! Look out for the START! hot curry sauce, excellent stuff for preparing curry dishes! The sales guy recommended some great tea and some Masala chai. This was delicious - it is now my favourite tea. Great little find. read more

Extremely rude. I went in to purchase a few items. I needed help from the cashier to find a certain item. I was ignored while the cashier casually talked to the other cashier next to her. After I stood there for a while I walked away she finally said miss what do you need. After she told me rudely which isle I could find my item in she put her hand up in the air to dismiss me like I was a fly. I'm guessing because I was not Indian. Will never spend my money in this store again or recommend others. I would rather find an item on amazon or another local Asian grocery store. read more

I love this place! It is the largest Indian grocery that I know of in the area and they are very well stocked, having pretty much anything you could be looking for. They have an entire large section just dedicated to rice and many varieties of rice, a huge aisle of numerous spices and spice mixes, an aisle of packaged noodles and snack items. They have a good produce section with many fresh items and also a freezer department with all kinds of different frozen Asian foods. They even have unusual flavors of ice cream as well. I also noticed they sell many different kinds of hair and skin care products, soaps and such that Asian people use that are not found in regular grocery stores. They even sell cookware and other household items. The staff are very friendly and most speak English, have always been nice to me every time I've shopped there. Also the store is very clean and their produce is fresh, the prices fair. read more
