It's a small business and I don't believe it's a chain. I ordered the quad shot with sugar free vanilla and light ice. It was perfect! The person at the counter was very patient with this "novice" and the ambiance was extremely cozy and comfortable. But the MVP was this amazing cookie! Location isn't appealing, and doesn't look that safe either My coworker frequents this place so I had him pick up bags of beans in the past, but decided to make a drive today on my own so I can try at least one of its drinks. I got the Oat-Chata with a shot of espresso (extra cost). I never get slushy drinks, but this was really good. Flavor was vibrant with just the right amount of sweetness. Two visits so far. Both on a weekday around 1030am. Prime time! Both times they said they're out of half & half. What!? A coffee shop that's out of half & half? Truly disappointing. Iykyk. I think they should make this a must have in their supplies. Customers would def pay a few extra cents up charge for it as an alternative milk. I ordered a hot lavender vanilla latte and wanted it made with half & half (breve). Had to settle for whole milk. The drink was very good! The syrups were tasty without being overly sweet and the espresso had a great smooth flavor. I would've loved a creamier drink with steamed half & half. Finally stopped by for some delicious coffe at this little shop in Compton. My friend wouldn't stop bragging about it so I decided to give it a try. I had their medium Cafe de Olla coffe with whole milk and I was left craving more of it. The right amount of sugar, coffee and cinnamon, all in a cup of joy! The shop was very homey and the staff was extremely welcoming. They went through the menu and offered their recommendations. Plenty of space, and nice for a study night. I am constantly in search of that hidden gem coffee shop. So this one time in Compton, I really wanted something other than a chain. Patria fit that thirst. If you're driving too fast, you might miss this place. Their parking lot seems to be shared with one side of Wilson Park. Like others said, it is a small shop but definitely has cute appeal. One remarkable thing about them is that they let you sample their cold brews before buying, I thought that was awesome. They have some seats inside, and a few people were studying and hanging out in the afternoon. It was a little hot in there, so I'm not sure if their heater was on or if it was just a warmer day in November (fall). Hopefully they have AC for summer days. Their coffee is smooth and bold. Special beans and blends for sure. I was also digging the merchandise in store, from the tote bag to the apparel, maybe next time if they still have some I'll have to get one. Amazing small neighborhood coffee shop that has some amazing coffee. Came here for a BlackListLA X ComptonRunClub Collaboration to see the city and meet some amazing people. I recommend that all locals looking for some good cold brew or want to meet some local people, I highly recommend this place. Their flash brew was smooth and delicious. Patria is my go to coffee spot. I've been coming for years. I work about a five minute walk from a Starbucks and a 10 minute drive to Patria. I always make the drive. I understand that everything is becoming more expensive but $7 for a latte is becoming ridiculous. $4.95 base + alternative milk $1 + flavor $1. Forbid you get a large but that's 50¢ or an extra shot 75¢. I wish I had a stomach that could stomach whole milk but I do not. So until then $7 lattes it is. Also their matcha is not good. Definitely been meaning to try this local coffee spot out for a while now! Local is almost ALWAYS better than the other guys, you know Starbu...nvm! Lol Firstly, as you walk up there's a small table and chairs in the grassy area in front. As you enter, there's a chill, relaxed vibe, with music playing low so not to disturb those sipping lattes and catching up on work. I was warmly welcomed by the barista behind the counter who made suggestions on best sellers! I always come here and finally decided to write my review. I usually get the horchata slush with a double expresó. Yesterday I got a small latte with honey lavender syrup & almond milk. Pretty tasty! And did I mention this was an over the phone order( mind blown) big kudos to Patrias for having that option told the barista, what time I was coming it was ready for me as soon as I walked in. That's love! I love the small local coffee shop business vibe this place has. They have free books for the youth. Most are black history based. I even started attending a free roller skating class over the summer due to a flyer we found at the shop. One of the barista's was actually orchestrating the class. I always receive my drink after people that ordered AFTER me. unfortunately, this has been really frustrating. My drink was forgotten today. What a very cute coffee shop Patria Coffee Roasters is ! Upon entering you are immediately welcomed into the store. The staff are very friendly & welcoming. The store is kept very clean, there are 6 tables with lots of seating, there's an extra bar stool that you can sit at, perfect space to do some studying or just catching up with a friend. They have some adorable things like tote bags, & plants to buy, or the plants are even just nice to look at. This coffee shop is 100% a safe space for the community, as stated in their mission statement. My fiancé & I got an Iced cafe de olla latte & a Ibarra hot chocolate latte. Both were very yummy. All syrups are made in store, the cafe de olla definitely has that traditional cinnamon taste, in the latte it doesn't outshine the espresso but blends very well together. The ibarra hot chocolate latte was a little grainy but if you've ever had ibarra you know that tends to happen, it's not grainy enough to make the drink undrinkable, my fiancé said it tasted so good that you don't even mind it. It tasted exactly how ibarra taste like, I wish we had got it hot to see how much more it compares. [Parking]: Parking was pretty straightforward as the coffee shop is located right next to the parking lot for Wilson Park. If the parking lot is packed on weekends, then you can also just park on the street for free. [Atmosphere]: Cozy interior space with 3-4 indoor tables. Outdoor patio table is not available. [Menu]: Most drinks cost between $2.45 (black coffee) to $4.75 (Ibarra Mexican Mocha). Their most expensive drinks are tea latte ($5.45) and they only sell one type of pastry - coffee cake. *** Coffee cake ($2.45): Not as good as the one I had from Homeboy Bakery in Chinatown, but it was pretty good and just a tad sweeter than I would like (I personally have a fairly low sugar tolerance nowadays.) Latte ($4.45 for regular & Cafe de Olla syrup for extra $0.50): Comparing with the last cafe de olla I had, it was night and day. Flavor wasn't overwhelming and latte itself was excellent.
