Hibiscus Lavender Tea and Latte with almond milk and cafe de olla syrup.
    Christian ..

This is truly a hidden gem, I understand why everyone loves this place. Upon entering it's a humble shop that's community centered, promoting unity and assistance to all, a safe space for all walks of life to enjoy an excellent coffee, matcha, tea or pastry. The lady that helped me was super nice and recommended a latte with Cafe de olla syrup, when I say that it's delicious, it's freakin delicious! I also ordered a Hibiscus Lavender Tea and man! That thing is refreshing and tasty! Highly recommend this place for anyone in the area, it's a 20/10!

Enjoyed my vanilla oat latte while I got some work done on a Saturday. The oldies music playing in the background was nostalgic and soothing. The baristas were very welcoming with good energy. I stayed for couple hours and then grabbed an ice lavender hibiscus tea on my way out, it was fragrant and delicious. I'll definitely be returning.

This establishment is next to a park. It was such a nice find, right after dropping off the boy I came to enjoy a hot oat milk latte with a splash of cafe de olla house made syrup. Friendly staff and strong coffee. I will return.

It's hard to find good 4th wave type single origin coffee in LA unless you're in the pocket of DTLA, Echo Park and out west towards Santa Monica. It's great to see Patria in this part of town that has great quality single origin coffee. Located alongside the Alameda Corridor, you wouldn't expect such a place in a semi industrial area. The cold brew here serving up coffee beans from Nicaragua was smooth and refreshing. Seating here somewhat minimal with patrons on their computers and chilling. While you're here, check out the Kobe/Gianna mural next door at Wilson Park and the defunct skatepark.

Parking in the little lot next to the shop was difficult to find on a Saturday morning (11-12pm) but check down the street, adjacent to the park. Menu is simple with the classics (espresso, americanos, cappuccinos, and lattes) and some speciality coffees like the Ibarra Mex Mocha. Prices are pretty reasonable - especially for the quality. It was busy when I went in so wait time was about 10-15 mins after ordering. I also bought one of their syrups - not really sure how much I paid for it but maybe about $15? That was a little pricey but the taste was good too. A little heavy on the spices, but I prefer it.

I believe I've coming to Patria since 2018 and the reason I keep coming back is always due to the great tasting coffee, nostalgic memories of growing up in Compton and when visiting family nearby. I love the new tables and chairs and little succulents. The barista's are always very friendly and the music is chill and they have a little book shelf with games and toys for little kids. I highly recommend their iced Americano, Cortado, Cappuccino and Cold Brrew with Oat Milk!

Was in the mood for some coffee before work but did not want to get st*rbucks. Wanted something more niche and found this place! I ordered a hot Cafe de Olla Latte w/ oatmilk, and it did not disappoint. It's a cafe where you would want to come in & sit down to get some work/studying done because it's cozy and the service is great!

Sooo good! First time here and everyone was so kind. The coffee was so smooth i got an iced mocha Ibarra latte. Also, Abi does amazing roasting those beans!

    Ham and cheese, very tasty!

Cute lil spot, was down the street waiting on some food and good ole yelp led me to patria. Service is good, love the decor, homage to the people, local vendors set up and they have their own organic beans. I should have ordered my regular vanilla latte and then I looked at my what they are known for the cafe de olla, so I ordered a warm 1 shot of espresso cafe de olla latte ... it needed to be a lil sweeter for me, it was strong. I will certainly be back and order a VL. Uhhhh I also got their ham and cheese croissant, bomb! French cheese and ham, yummy.

Incredible cafe in Compton! My friends and I stopped here on our way through town, and we were not disappointed. This local spot was super busy, with customers and their pets everywhere. I loved the bearded dragon!! I loved the equality support billboards and local business support. There was also a nice little library section. The coffee was amazing, and the workers seemed really nice. Great spot and would come again.

This was a super small cafe! Parking was super limited and the cafe was not busy. The staff were super friendly and the service was extremely fast. We ordered the Vanilla Bean Iced Latte and the Hazelnut Iced Latte and both were really tasty. They both had a lot of flavor, but the vanilla latte could have been a bit more creamy! When we got there they didn't have a great selection of snack items to choose from so we only got the coffee. This cafe is a bit far from us so we unfortunately wouldn't be back unless we were in the area, but we are glad that we went to try it out!

I think the tea flavor could have been stronger, but the texture of the boba was good. I did think it was a bit odd that my iced drink was served in a paper cup while my friend got the usual plastic cup. The croissant was delicious. It had a nice guava filling, but the cream cheese was thinner, more like a condensed milk consistency. Still very good, just different from what I was expecting. My friend got the iced cheese coffee with biscoff, which was pretty strong and tasty. The restroom was not terrible, but could have been cleaner.

Great Demand, But Poor Convenience for Working Customers…read more I've had The Nook's mushroom coffee before. My best friend took me here on a weekend afternoon, and even then there was a line, although it was manageable and mostly stayed inside the shop. Because of that experience, I knew The Nook was popular, but I wasn't prepared for what I encountered on a weekday morning. I wanted to pick up a coffee before work, so I actually planned ahead. Before leaving home, I checked the mobile website expecting that, given the obvious demand, there might be an order-ahead option. Unfortunately, there isn't one. So I gave myself an additional 30 minutes specifically for parking, waiting in line, ordering, and waiting for the drink to be prepared. I figured that should be more than enough for a morning coffee pickup. I arrived around 7:30 AM, and as I walked toward The Nook from the south side of The Enclave, I could already see the line stretching out of the door and into the courtyard. I was honestly shocked. There were easily 15-20 people ahead of me. I decided to give it a fair chance and got in line. After 10 minutes, the line had barely moved. At that point, I walked out. I understand that popular businesses get busy, especially in the morning. But there is a difference between being busy and having a customer wait in a line of 15-20 people with virtually no movement at 7:30 AM, particularly when there is no mobile ordering or order-ahead option. For a coffee shop with this level of demand, I find the lack of an ordering system especially frustrating. If you're going to consistently have lines extending outside the business during the morning rush, there should be some way for customers who are trying to grab a drink on their way to work to order ahead. And that's really my issue: the customer experience doesn't seem designed for people who need coffee efficiently. If you're coming here on a weekend, have nowhere to be, or are willing to dedicate an unpredictable amount of time to waiting, you may have a completely different experience. But if you're trying to get coffee before work, I would strongly recommend accounting for significantly more time than you think you'll need -- or having a backup plan. I no longer work as close to The Nook, and I don't drink coffee after noon, so I don't have much reason to make a special trip. Unless I'm conveniently nearby and see little to no line, I won't be making another attempt anytime soon. The Nook clearly has a loyal following, but popularity shouldn't come at the expense of basic convenience. If the demand is consistently this high, the ordering process needs to catch up with it.

Drink: That peach cobbler matcha was absolutely delicious. I downed it so fast because it was so good! It legitimately tasted like there was a peach cobbler in my matcha. So good. Not too sweet, just the right amount of cinnamon, and the peach worked well with the matcha. I appreciate good food and drinks, but even more than that I appreciate excellent service and a hospitable host. Good Coffee has both of these things which is why I highly recommend it and will definitely be back for that peach cobbler matcha!
