Cozy patio & cold Brews. Caught a game of pool & met some cool locals. Great place to watch sports. They had a Taco Cart in the back, the tacos were actually legit. I tried both the Asada & Chicken Tacos, & it was a hit. They actually do catering outside. Going back for Tacos next Friday.

Met with 2 good friends at the the old Poop Deck yesterday. It's been known for a several years now as the Deck. Mike B, & I live in the South Bay, Mike C, lives in Pasadena. Some 15 years ago he lived in Redondo. The Deck, is a great place to people watch while catching up with old friends. Along with a good selection of beers they serve some good pub grub too. Yesterday they had an event, girls volleyball tournament. It was fun to watch & added to the overall beach vibe. We've been to the Deck many times over the years, it's truly, one of the "last of the Mohicans" or one of the last of its kind on the strand! A 5 Star!

Ceviche de Pescado "Fish Ceviche " with fresh Salsa & tortilla chips . It was off the hook.. Great service! considering we all have to adjust to this new way of living with Masks and out door dinning . Also the Vegan burger was delicious.

Best Dive restaurant/bar in Hermosa beach! The view is a plus. Definitely a family friendly environment, and gives off a sense of nostalgia. Can't wait to try the tri tip sandwich.

This place is a blast and they have carnita tacos, hell yesssss! I lean more towards dive bars, I honestly hate all the fuss and muss when it comes to other bars. I feel so at home here. Everyone is laid back, the drinks are good, they have games and food. I can chill here all night with a beer in hand. Drinks They have a good selection of beers, that's what most people are drinking here. They do have wine but I don't think I would recommend wine in a dive bar. My friend ordered a house cab and said it was awful but still drank it lol. The only thing that sucks is that they don't serve hard alcohol so you can't get a mixed drink or shots here. The loophole is that they do serve jello shots! Makes me feel like I'm in college again haha. I love it! Games You can play pool here and they also have a game off to the side. I've never played it but it looks cool and people are always having fun. It might be a shuffle board or something. We like to mix it up and play our own games. We asked for extra cups and a few pitchers and got flip cup going. Food On certain nights they have tacos. I'm a sucker for tacos especially when drinking beer. The tacos are damn good too. Carnitas all the way, I promise you won't regret it. They also have a popcorn machine. Super random but in the best way. Seating There is plenty of seating inside and outside. It is a smaller bar compared to others in the area but that's what I like about it. It's very cozy and welcoming. They have bar stools inside and benches outside but you will catch most people standing around chatting it up. Service There's typically only one bartender getting everyones drink orders but the service is always good! I come here on different nights of the week and every time has been a great experience. I also love the security guards and they even gave my friend some candy for her birthday. Again, super random but in the best ways! I love coming here and will continue to do so!

This place has only been open a week and a half and it was packed! It used to be the "poop deck" and I was so sad when I heard that it closed! :( We went there today and it was a blast! They classed the place up and it's better than before. They took the dive out of dive bar. They are no longer cash only and they still allow flip cup. Great service and now they serve WINE! A great list of wines to choose from too. Beautiful location on the boardwalk. Hands down the best bar in Hermosa! Will be back ASAP!!! :)

    Grilled Cheese

$6 Grilled Cheese to go was rather disappointing. Small, no pickles, waited 10min. Way too much packaging waste. Definitely not made with love.

Great location at the beach, open windows, good HH pricing, and a surfer-looking bartender - DONE!

My hubby and I hit up the deck today. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Opened up the windows and sat and people watched. Great and well priced drinks also great service by Juan! Thanks Juan!

We love the Deck. We loved this place when it was the POOP DECK and only served Bud & Bud light. When Jeff took it over, he deep cleaned the entire space, made some repairs and improvements, kept the outside patio area and increased the variety of beers on tap and added some great wines. You can't beat the location- right on the strand. Grab a beer and watch the world skate, stroll or bike by. A perfect place to catch an amazing California sunset. And on weekends, there's the taco guy with $1 street tacos. Live music some nights- this place keeps Hermosa Hermosa.

Is this 21+? Are kids allowed in?

Yes it's 21+, It's an old school bar! Not a Resturant with a bar. I will tell you this much, I've been hundreds of times over the years & have never seen any kids. Of course that doesn't mean they don't. Maybe you should just call them.

You can tell the chefs are dedicated to the craft. They're a 2025 bib gourmand restaurant and are hoping to aim for their first star, so their efforts into the decor, ambiance, and food shows (good luck!). The waitstaff/chefs were also very attentive. Mussels Tart - really delicious. Super unique and beautifully plated. No taste of fishiness or the ocean. Just overall a 5/5 dish that you must try. Beef tongue - I normally enjoy beef tongue thinly sliced at a Korean BBQ restaurant or coarsely chopped up in a street taco. They do it differently here. The beef tongue is one big cube. It's very flavorful and tender. Not as amazing as the mussels tart but still worth a try. Chili crab - this put them on the map. SUPER DELICIOUS. It's not what you'd expect from a creation called 'chili crab'. There's no shell to be seen and the crab meat is actually buried underneath. Scoop from the inside out. Tons of flavor and I wished the portion size was doubled. Lamb pappardelle - if you like lamb then you'll love this. Lots of different spices and flavors. It has a very deep flavor profile that makes you appreciate all the work and thought that went into designing this dish. I'd get this again also! Strawberry tiramisu - they brought this out for the birthday celebration. They prepared it in a gigantic bowl. Scooped out a generous portion and plated it right in front of us. I have a soft spot for tiramisu so I'd recommend this too. Best of luck on the Michelin star! I'd come back. 5/5

I really wanted to love this place. I read all the glowing…read morereviews and convinced myself the negative ones were probably just misunderstandings... but wow, I had it completely backwards. First, the restaurant itself is undeniably cute and cozy, tucked away in a corner of Hermosa Beach. Our first impression was honestly great, and we were excited to try it. Our reservation was at 5:00 PM, but when we arrived, the staff was still inside having what looked like a team huddle or group therapy session well past opening time. At first I thought maybe I got the hours wrong and they actually opened at 5:30. Nope -- 5:00 was correct. I understand pre-shift meetings happen. But maybe do the motivational speech at 4:50 instead of making customers stand outside after your posted opening time? They finally opened the doors around 5:10. Once seated, our server introduced himself by saying he was also one of the chefs, and apparently everyone dressed in white both cooks and serves. I didn't really understand the concept, but honestly, I don't care who brings the food as long as the food is good. These are what we ordered: SQUID -- This tasted like it had been marinated directly in seawater. Painfully salty. I genuinely did not understand the dish at all. Boiled squid with egg salad? Why? The portion was tiny, and we were hungry, so we basically used the mussels tart to dilute the salt enough to finish it. MUSSELS TART -- Actually delicious. No complaints here. BISTRO SALAD -- This was honestly shocking. It was SO sour that it was practically inedible. -- we literally take straight lemon shots every morning but this dish was hard to eat. This wasn't "bright acidity." This was weaponized vinegar. Bitter, aggressively sour, and tongue-numbing after one bite. We had to send it back because it was simply not edible. CABBAGE -- Flavor was good overall, but parts of it were so burnt that I genuinely questioned whether it was intentional or someone forgot it existed in the kitchen. Maybe it's culinary art I'm too uncultured to understand. FISH DIANE -- Delicious. No complaints at all. What ultimately made us decide we won't return wasn't even the inconsistent food -- it was the attitude. They still charged us for the salad we literally could not eat after sending it back. Then the couple next to us asked to keep one menu because they planned to order more later. One of the servers told them not to leave it on the table because she didn't want the menu to get dirty. The menu was a single flimsy printed paper menu. Not leather-bound. Not handmade parchment from the 1700s. Just printer paper. The whole experience felt oddly pretentious for a place serving burnt cabbage and acid salad. Some dishes were genuinely good, but the hospitality felt nonexistent and the food was wildly inconsistent. Cute restaurant, but definitely not somewhere we'd return to.

Super attentive and explained the menu well, especially since we were sharing. The bread is a must get, we got a the ceviche (super tangy and good) and french onion toast. The pork and rib eye were our favs. So tender, perfectly charred. The coffee toffee pudding dessert was also a must get. Will be back for future large group dinners.

Food is meant to be shared and is perfect for a night out or celebration. The dishes are so imaginative--flavorful and visually appealing. We started off with cheese appetizer to warm up. Not amazing but a solid starter. The badger flame beet salad was very tasty with pistachio and ruby red grapefruit. Not much greens but delicious. The hamachi crudo tasted fresh but I'm a purist and always prefer the fish flavor over the vinaigrette dressing. The beef tartare was a tad under seasoned imo. The mains blew my mind. Usually the mains are outshined by the starters in a fine dining establishment. Not here! The Indian egg was something I've never had. A soft boiled egg enveloped with an Indian spiced sausage was surrounded by cucumber, sumac, and yogurt. A mandatory order. The smoked and fried chicken (brined a few days prior per our server) was hot, delicious, and complimented with a soy and chile sauce. Great meal in itself. Get it! Hand rolled spaghetti was coiled with a mixture of mushrooms in a brown butter sauce. Super savory. Great starch, goes well with everything. Can't wait to try more dishes during future visits!

The fact that they speak Italian adds to the feel of authenticity and the waitstaff was on point the whole night. The dim lighting with the real wax candles, adds a intimate touch. The food started with a simple Hamachi Crudo, which was simple and elegant. The warm bread that accompanied it is a nice and appreciated surprise at the beginning of the meal. Next up was the octopus, which was served warm, and was not rubbery or chewy at all. The eggplant Parmesan was a little bit on the colder side, but taste wise very sweet, tender, and you could tell each portion was made lovingly. The gnocchi was soft, creamy, rich, and decadent, and the sauce was equally rich and a great pairing. When you were only served five pieces of gnocchi, somehow you feel more appreciative of each bite and that was certainly the case here. You probably wouldn't want to eat a whole bowl of the stuff as it was extremely rich and luxuriously creamy. The last dish was the tiramisu which had a strong coffee flavor. Everything about the night was wonderful and I would highly recommend trying it out!
