We made a reservation earlier in the day for a Friday night and were quickly seated. The restaurant has a hybrid pub/speakeasy feel with moody lighting and a blend of high tops and sofas to lounge on. Although there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant, service was quick and attentive. Our drinks were brought out quickly, and we agreed there was a depth of complexity that we weren't initially expecting. Two of us ended up sharing the wild boar risotto, duck pasta, and octopus and seafood pasta. The risotto was by far our favorite - very rich, flavorful, creamy, and savory, but not too salty. The different textures were a joy to experience. Parking is a little difficult on the weekends, but we got lucky and found a spot almost right outside the restaurant. Fox and farrow is a great casual restaurant/ bar serving american cuisine. We havent tried the dinner menu for food yet but our experience at the bar in the evening for cocktails and appetizers is among the best. We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers and drinks from Kirk, the bartender. As far as cocktails, he loves his craft and is one of the best! He makes an amazing rye whiskey old fashioned. He was also good about introducing us to the staff and some other customers that regularly frequented the place. We really felt welcomed and are looking forward to coming back. The food is greasy, my wine glass was dirty, and the music was WAY TOO LOUD. Maybe I'm too old but I don't know how people can carry a conversation when they've got that music bumping like that. Maybe that's what gave this place a bad vibe to begin with. Also, a staff member there was really rude. Looked like he had a major chip on his shoulder. I think he may have been the general manager. I enjoyed this place for the most part- very cozy bar/library vibes, music wasn't too loud so you could have good conversations, lots of different styles of seating depending what you're looking for, and their menu was diverse and had a lot of interesting things. The only sore spot for us was the service, to be honest the food took way too long and the lady helping us seemed disappointed we were mostly there for food and not to drink. My party did try a margarita and another cocktail which they said were pretty good but nothing to write home about. The food itself was pretty good, but took forever to come out considering what it was. We got sliders, their version of a Shepards pie, and the Brie- although our Brie was pretty burnt on the bottom. We ordered all of their starters and loved them all. Pretzels loaf is perfect, they nailed the pretzel texture even in loaf form. Brussels sprouts were delicious and flavorful. Cauliflower was great also with crunchy edamame(I'm assuming they ran out of pistachios)and corn throughout. Classic basket of truffle fries. Baked Brie and Mary's chicken kabobs are 10/10 starters. Admittedly, we arrived early and ordered fries and Brussels sprouts along with a salad, so maybe we didn't enjoy the full effect? However, the sprout and fries were oversalted, gah! Def not Michelin-worthy unless maybe it's referring to the tire company and how their rubber resists salted roads in the winter? The salad was good... Arugula Salad (GF) | $18 Arugula, Goat Cheese, Toasted Sliced Almonds, Pitted Fresh Cherries, Dried Apricot, Basil Balsamic Dressing. Due to our strange arrival time (late afternoon-early evening), we had a shift change and a Happy Hour to regular menu awkward transition. My bad, I own it. Wow!! Just wow!! Where do I begin? Everything about this place was just exceptionally amazing!! It's been a really long time since I've had this kind of trifecta with excellent customer service, near perfect vibes and food and drinks that was some of the best I've had in a very long time!! First off the customer service was amazing. We had Keiren? (Probably spelled that wrong) as our waiter and he was extremely knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Answered all our questions. Allowed us to make modifications to our drinks. Super nice. Food came out quickly as well as the drinks! Atmosphere was beautiful!! Very dark and romantic inside. Very small restaurant added to the exclusivity vibes and specialness of the night. A little sitting area in the middle where you can sit and chill while ordering foods and drinks as well. The booths were extremely comfortable. Nice cushions. The table we sat at could easily have fitted 6 people if not 8. Loved the decor and the craftsmanship of the design and just everything about it. Definitely a perfect place for a romantic date night. The food and drinks were near perfect. Drunks were very alcohol forward. Very heavy handed and free with the pours. But they still tasted amazing. 1 drink down and I was very comfortable. I had the espresso martini. They claim in quotations to be the "best" espresso martini. And I'm not gonna lie, it's maybe top 3 espresso martinis I've ever had. And I like to think I'm a connoisseur of espresso martinis. Rich, frothy, aromatic, very coffee flavored but also heavy on the alcohol. It was perfectly balanced. Had the chocolate martini also. Same concept. But without the coffee. But it was just as amazing. We had other drinks as well and they were all heavy handed with the alcohol in a very good way!! Food was equally amazing. A good selection of appetizers, shareable dishes and entrees. But not overwhelming. What they do have on the menu though, they have perfected. We ordered the: 1. Pheasant sausage- never had pheasant, but one of the best dishes we had for the night. Sausage tasted amazing. Salty, tender, not gamey at all. Succulent. Worked well with the pretzel croustini. And the mustard worked well too with the Pheasant and bread. 2. Grilled cauliflower and corn- a great dish. Nicely charred. Lots of mushrooms. Perfectly balanced. Tasted great! 3. Grilled Ceasar salad- to have the actual romaine heart grilled was uniquely different in a good way. Small peices of anchovy on it really gave it pops of salty yumminess. Everything on the dish worked well together. Healthiness of being a salad, but tasted amazing though. 4. Hanger steak- tender and moist. Chimichurri sauce was an excellent combination with the steak. Not a big portion though. 5. Sticky thai ribs- these were amazing. One of the best dishes I had here. Sauce was thick and sticky. Slightly sour, slightly sweet but extremely delicious. The meat was just as tender, literally fall off the bone soft. You could cut it effortlessly with the fork. Just amazingness!!! 6. Marys chicken kabobs- these too were by far one of the best dishes. I had here. The tenderness and juiciness of the chicken is top 3 that I've ever had! Flavors too were just perfect. This dish was just wow!! Finished with a pecan mud pie. And it too was near perfection. The creaminess of the gelato coupled with the crunch of the Graham crust. It wasent overly sweet. But it was rich. And it was the perfect way to finish the meal!! Overall, everything here was dang near perfection. Service, vibes, food and drinks. Nearly a perfect trifecta!! Definitely worth the 60 plus mile drive from Rancho Cucamonga, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!! There's limited paid street parking. We were fortunate to find an open spot. We have now had dinner at Fox and Farrow twice and tried many of their dishes. The food is incredible - it's really that great. Last night we had the pork chop, black cod, seafood pasta, mac n cheese, and pretzel bread. All were amazing. The sauces on all three were so flavorful! If the service wasn't so bad last night, I would easily give them 5 stars. Our server should not be in the service industry. She seemed like she was in a bad mood right from the start. She never smiled and was not very attentive. We had to fill our own wine glasses when they were empty. When she finally did come over, she started to walk away with the wine bottle until I asked her if I could get the rest of it poured out. It still had about half a glass left. Fox and Farrow is self-described as "Michelin-Worthy" on their website. For the food, I would agree wholeheartedly. But they need to work on their service! read more

Beautifully dark and moody restaurant with very attentive service. Went for a birthday dinner with friends. I had the Duck Pasta. Can you say yummy! The only critique on it is that the menu does not mention corn as an ingredient. The corn is sweet and took away from the rest of the dish. Also, the peas were undercooked/ a little hard. My guess is they used frozen. Friends had the hanger steak, fries, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, salmon and the Falafel board. Steak was cooked to perfection. Brussels - loved the hint of curry. All the review made for a promising evening. Unfortunately, this didn't live up to any expectations based on what we read. The atmosphere was mediocre, incredible loud dining room with a very weird layout. Service was slow and inattentive. Took a long time for apps to come out. All four of us had different main dishes none of which were good. The best thing we ate all night was the fries and the dessert. Bland and boring was the only way to describe the food. We had the duck pasta (recommended as a top dish) it was tasteless and for the price I shouldn't be looking for salt on the table. The hangar steak was also lacking flavor with a chimichurri sauce that tasted nothing like it should. The salmon was ok but the flavor felt cheap and like some kind of bottled sauce used. This place could be great and could live with the loud dining room if food and service was better. Felt like whoever is in the kitchen is complacent and mailing it in. They claim they have the best espresso martinis, and their martinis actually lives us to the name. Truly I just come back for the espresso martinis. They have a full bar stocked with all kinds of liquor. Their food is good too. Baked Brie is so nice and flaky, and comes with toasted bread, strawberries, blueberries, candied walnuts and an apricot jam. The duck pasta was delicious, not too greasy or buttery or salty. The beef sliders were not bad, the patties and brioche bun were definitely better quality but they're just sliders. Brussels sprouts and bruschetta were good, but nothing new. Ambiance is a bouji English bar with velvet and wood panels. They have booth seating and some couch seating as well. Great for parties of 6 max or less or a romantic date. Beach is less than five minutes away. Meter street parking is a bit hard because it's on the Main Street with all of the restaurants and shops. Last night my family and I had the pleasure of eating at Fox and Farrow for the first time. The vibe was very speakeasy and classy and we were lucky enough to have the owner walk us through the menu. The food selection had so many great options that it was challenging to pick just one. We opted for the Thai sticky ribs, pretzel bread and truffle fries to start. For our entree's we had the ribeye, schnitzel, duck pasta, and the hangar steak. The five of us all shared bites and we couldn't decide who had the best option. Every dish was absolutely incredible. It's great to go to a place where every detail is taken care of and you are treated like family. We left stuffed, happy and already planning our next visit. This was a pleasant find! I googled best gluten free restaurants and this restaurant was suggested. I was taking a friend out for her birthday and she has to have cuisine that is gluten free. I can eat anything so this restaurant was amazing. No matter your diet preferences they have dishes for all. The interior is classy, inviting with a British flair. Different types of seating for any preference. The food was delicious too. One of the owners greeted us and was extremely helpful. The bar area is small but equally inviting and charming. Might still be since you use the same restrooms, which by the way were filthy. Style was okay, nothing to write home about. Once we sat, our waiter (older gentleman, grayish hair, Caucasian) came to greet us. From the start he had a chip on his shoulder. Was rude, would make faces as we order our drinks, would say what did you say, it was like we were an inconvenience or an annoyance. I was very disappointed by this. The drinks and food were just okay. Not Michelin quality by far. Honestly, I think the food is overpriced.
