I despise the cat-n-mouse car buying process. It's antiquated, often times a major hassle, and an obvious time drain. I have never, had an easier time getting the car I wanted. Short turnaround time, the car was pristine on delivery and I got an fantastic price for the vehicle. Much better than ANY dealership that I had gone to previously, and that includes MetroWest, CitySide, Village Subaru (what a waste of humanity in that dealership, total scumbags) as well as Quirk subaru and North Reading subaru. Patrick had the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff as well as beating the competitors price by ALOT!!! I have no qualms about giving a bad review but when someone goes out of there way and with all the stigma associated with car sales and the whole process, it was extremely refreshing to have all of my requirements answered with a "yes". In April 2018 I stopped into Patrick Subaru to see if they had a Jasmine Green Forester with a panoramic moon roof and heated seats like my friend Maria did. I fell in love with her car that she also bought at Patrick Subaru. Lucky for me they actually had several cars and we drove to the 2nd parking lot to pick it up for a test drive. I had it in my head if it was meant to be then I would be a new car owner. Commuting through New England in the snow as a Senior Bank Auditor can be challenging and it was time for me to have a car with four wheel drive. Not the friendliest car dealership that I've visited, but their salespeople are honest and will get you the right price. They do their best to try to get the car that YOU want, not something they try to sell off the lot to you. The sales guy we had could have been a bit nicer, but he was honest and accommodating, and didn't lie to us (for once). They don't have a large selection of cars on their lot, if you're looking for something new right away (mostly because they don't have a lot of space). But if you're looking for honest salespeople, this is the place. read more

My fiancée and I had just moved into the are less than a week prior and were in a rental, coming from the west coast we wanted something all wheel drive that can handle the snow. My fiancée had always liked the Crosstrek so we set up an appointment at Patrick Subaru. I've purchased many new cars and it can be an all day experience which is what we didn't want. We met with Nate Goodro and told him exactly what we were looking for and the price we wanted. Nate was amazing he gave us different options and we test drove a few cars, ultimately it was what my fiancée would feel the most comfortable in and safe in. Nate was able to tend to our needs since we had a very tight schedule, he came up to out place to have the paperwork signed and even dropped off a loaner since I had to turn in the rental. I've worked in the motion picture automobile industry for 15 years and have worked with many dealerships, I can honestly say Nate went above and beyond. Also I made the appointment for a recall and after leaving the car upon picking it up they tell me they didn't have the part to fix it. I bought a 2011 New Outback and had been quite happy. In 2014 my 17 year old daughter started stalling dangerously in traffic. I searched online and found a service bulletin detailing a transmission problem. Not only did Patrick Subaru and Subaru of America deny any issue, they actually quoted $1,800 to fix and, trying to profit from the problem. After getting alternative quotes it was finally fixed for $1,200. And now, in 2017 they are admitting a CVT problem! After they told me my daughter would be safe! I do not trust this brand or this dealership. read more

Was in the market for a new subuaru crosstrek. I Negotiated a price online with the internet sales rep, and then asked to come in to speak with a different sales rep to test drive and sign paperwork. The purchase and sale agreement included a $400 documentation fee, which I found to be excessive. The highest I've ever seen. And for the first time in my over thirty years of buying new cars, I was told that this does not include the Massachusetts inspection sticker, and I would be responsible for going to a service station, getting it inspected myself, and paying the $35 out of my pocket. Highest doc fees around and it doesn't even include inspection? Scam. The next day, I emailed the sales rep and asked if I could add on the auto-dimming rear view mirror with homelink accessory. The cost on their website was $249, which I was willing to pay in full. the sales manager, Jeff Moberg, told me that it would actually be $280 with installation. As this is a simple plug and play device that would take less than 5 minutes to install, and the service techs would be prepping the car for delivery anyway, I asked that the installation charge be waived. Jeff emailed me back stating that I got a good enough deal and he was not going to offer any discount on accessories. I told him that I felt that I was not asking for much considering I just agreed to pay over $25k for new car, and they would still be making a profit on the accessory. He responded that if I wasn't happy, I should consider asking for a refund of my deposit and parting ways. I was shocked. Maybe he thought I wouldn't call his bluff seeing that I already put down a deposit, was approved for the financing, and I would be picking up the car the following day. However, I took Jeff up on his offer to part ways not because of the $28 installation fee, but because when making a large purchase like this, people should feel confident that the dealer will work with them and stand by them when needed. Jeff Moberg's attitude and behavior destroyed any such confidence in that dealership. I printed out his emails, along with the purchase and sale agreement and went to North End Subaru in Lunenburg. they had the same car with all the same features. They sold me that car for the same price and threw in the accessory for free. On top of that, their doc fees were $100 less. So I ended up getting the same car for $380 less, but more importantly was able to deal with a professional group of ADULTS who treated me with respect and class. I can't say that I was surprised when I received a text from North End the following day asking if I could give them a copy of Jeff Moberg's emails, so they could use it in their training on how NOT to treat their customers. I would strongly recommend staying away from Patrick Subaru and instead consider North End Subaru. read more

Went in to Patrick Subaru to look at used Subaru Foresters and found one that we quite liked. The young man said that we could take it to our mechanic (Bruce Gerardi in Tatnuck Square--excellent!!) to have him look it over. A day later, when we went to pick up the car, we were told that we would have to put down a $500 nonrefundable deposit and in effect "buy" the car--then that Patrick Subaru would fix any problems--but only if they agreed with Gerardi's evaluation.. Needless to say, we went elsewhere; no need for this kind of dishonest dealing. They seemed to have no problem with WASTING our time. Who would buy a used car without an independent opinion--not us!! Incidentally, we ended up buying a new Forester at Long's Subaru for LESS than the used model at Patrick's. Bottom line: Avoid Patrick Subaru, unless you appreciate deceptive business practices, wasting your time, and LIES. read more

This dealership lacks customer service after the sale! My husband bought a new 2015 Legacy here. He has kept up the maintenance perfectly and even insisted on going to the dealership for the mileage tuneups because he wanted to make sure he maintained his warranty (even though he could have had the service done elsewhere). He recently had to have his wheel bearings replaced which was covered under his warranty. Firestone was looking at it because he didn't know what the problem was. He was told it was a safety issue and he should not drive it, so he had them do the repair. When we contacted the dealership about the warranty, they completely blew him off. I first contacted via email and never received a response. When my husband called he was told to just call Subaru of America (where he was on hold over 30 min and then just told he should have gone to the dealership). Although they are correct that the repair should have been done at the dealership, they showed no desire to help us, care that we have this problem or even try to retain us as customers. It's a big difference to me because I have been treated much better at other dealerships even when an exception needed to be made and I remain a loyal customer for that reason. We are planning to buy another car within the next year and my husband wanted to buy another Subaru. This has really changed our opinion about the company. If we do ever consider buying a Subaru again it absolutely will not ever be from this dealership. read more

Just got my second Subaru Legacy from Patrick and couldn't be happier with the experience. I worked with Mike Katz and Brandon Keddy and both were very professional and understanding of my needs. After a few negative experiences with my local dealer (MetroWest), my interaction with Mike and Brandon was not only more pleasant, but they also provided better pricing and had the perfect car in stock. They were very accommodating with my requests for doing the paperwork, preparing the car and scheduling the pickup. I never felt rushed or pressured and was given a thorough explanation of all the processes and going over the vehicle. Not to forget they offer the first service free via a $100 dealership gift card (keep it going Patrick!) We went to get an oil change and I had an issue with the radio. We got a salesman named NATE who was less then thrilled to help us.I said we have a problem with the car which he said no YOU have a problem with the car NOT me He grabbed the keys out of my hand played with the radio and did absolutely nothing to help us.He then exited the car and told another salesman standing there "they will be alright".When I asked him what he said he repeated what he said in a snarled manner I asked him what his problem is which he responded "what are you going to do about it" Are you challenging me to a fight I asked ? he turned and laughed like a complete crazy person and went into showroom My wife said lets get out of here she didn't feel comfortable being their this guy is crazy . I called management because I have never been treated by a company like this after I paid 25,000 for a car .They said they would talk to him and said they were sorry but I never heard back from them after their talk supposibly with NATE Needless to say we will never be back ,or buy a car from them again. They said they replaced both rear wheel bearings, but they were shot after less than 5,000 miles and less than 3 months in summer months. I haven't received replies to my voicemails or emails to resolve this issue. I have the parts, and they feel and look like they were not replaced. read more

The following review is fair. However, it's important that my appointment was handled flawlessly once I got there. Estimated to take 2.5 hours, it was completely done in 1 hr 55 min, so I have changed my star-count to 3 stars. =-=-= Trying to reach "Service" today has been tough. Called at ~10, no answer, had to leave a message; called at ~11, same thing; called at ~12, got the msg that the mailbox is full, not accepting any new messages. So I called "Sales", nice woman said she'd try to get me connected. She succeeded. // The gist of their problem is that they have so many calls about recalls (and, my inference, so few employees) that they can't keep up with the calls. The original purpose of my call was a recall notice that sharply limits the usefulness of my vehicle. I called Patrick the same day I received the notice, but it's taken them several weeks to get enough parts to schedule the work; First explanation, because the parts mfgr isn't able to supply them fast enough; Second explanation, it's not a supply chain problem at all, it's a time-consuming repair (2 hours). // YMMV. read more

SERVICE department is sub par. Took our Subaru there for its' scheduled maintenance. They missed a something that was supposedly "checked " on the multiple point inspection. I needed to go back the following day. They did not apologize or even give any credit. It makes me wonder if they even did what they say they did................. AWFUL. This is the 3rd car we bought from them, and also their 3rd strike. Our first car had an oil change through them, and the next morning all the oil was in our driveway. They did nothing to help us fix it, and didn't take the blame. They also didn't rotate our tires for that car, so the tires were shot after 16 months of owning the car. Our current car we just bought from them, is a used model. They told us the tires were fine, and here we are 3 1/2 months later, buying new tires. Scum bags. Will do anything to make a buck. Don't go to Subaru in Shrewsbury! Horrible service! I bought my car Subaru crosstrek brand new in 2015. No problems. First few years no problems, oil changes and all service through Subaru in Shrewsbury. Few years ago it started getting slower and slower with service. Oil changes now were an hour and a half to 2 hours long . Express lane not so express anymore. I had a recall on my crosstrek so called to make an "appointment." The lady I talked with at Subaru booked me for a scheduled appointment 2 weeks away. Now I'm thinking perfect I have an appointment it will be quicker and more organized and won't have to wait the 3.5-4 hours. So much for the appointment I waited in line and the appointment meant nothing and I could of gone anytime in those 2 weeks to fix it because it meant no difference with an appointment or not. Fast forward to today.. I called 2-3 times to service to see if oil change line was insanely long or not. No answers. Common theme of not answering. This time I have someone picking me up to run errands instead of sitting starring at a wall for 3 hours. So I get to the service garage and it took longer than usual to even get someone to greet me. Finally someone from inside came outside and I said oil change, he checked with his boss, checked me in.I leave after being checked in and went to the grocery store and told the person checking me in I'm going to the grocery store I'll be back. Came back to Subaru because they were closing at 5. Sitting in the waiting room. Still sitting in the waiting room. Now it is after 5. Then a comment of " just waiting on the paperwork" was said. There is hope. Comes back with my keys... took a while but hey not too bad only an hour and 20 minutes this time. Nope. I was told my car was signed in but never was looked at or worked on. Never got the oil change. Got my keys walked out of Subaru not happy to say the least. Can't find my car now....I'm hitting the lock button to hear my car. Walking around can't find it. Finally hear it in the back lot farthest away from the service office. Found my car... found my car boxed in ( I took a photo of it blocked in and how closely parked it was to the other car). Walked back inside to say can we move the other car to get my car out. Finally got my car out and let's just say I am not happy. My mom was going to buy either the forester or ascent this summer (sorry Jeff) but now we'll be going elsewhere . Also this summer I was going to change my tires and add a Thule roof rack, going elsewhere. Long story short, lost a loyal customer and save yourself a headache, don't go there. read more

Wow. My husband and I dropped by to look at Subarus. After awhile a salesman came out to ask if we needed any help. But it was clear he didn't want to help us. My husband wanted to ask some questions, and this salesman was completely dismissive. He did not even introduce himself or shake hands. After not even meeting us halfway, he turned around and went back inside saying, "I'll be inside if you need me." Well, I guess we will not be needing him and I guess he will not be selling a $25,000 car to us. Just poor. read more

I have no problem with taking a car to a dealership for service, but every time I've gone to Patrick I come away with the feeling they'll do anything to saddle you with a costly repair -- needed or not. Just yesterday we left our 2009 Outback at Patrick to have the passenger airbag replaced under warranty. When we returned to pick it up the service advisor claimed the car had a leaking head gasket. She told us flatly that we risked having the engine seize due to lack of oil, and warned us not to take the car on any long trips. Lies. I do the maintenance on our cars. Our Outback does not use oil or coolant. Nor does it blow blue smoke or white smoke, have brown foam in the oil pan or oil in the coolant surge tank. It does not even leave oil drips in our driveway. Those are all symptoms you might expect from a car with a failing head gasket. And just to be certain I gave the car a once-over after we got it home. The oil level hadn't moved. It was slightly overfilled -- just as it was the last time I topped it off, months ago. Everything was clean. Not even a leaking valve cover. That service advisor is a bold liar. I can easily see how she could scare a naive customer into having an expensive head gasket replacement done on a car that doesn't need it. She probably has done it before. She probably does it any time she can get away with it. I have had other experiences with Patrick that confirm my low opinion of them. Be warned. read more

Just picked up our new Subaru. From our first visit with Keith in Sales to delivery this evening, this was a seamless and pleasant experience. No nonsense...no obfuscation...no surprises. ..just a straightforward car buying experience. (How often can we expect that from car dealers?) We obtained a good price for exactly the model we wanted. Keith delivered just that and with no "up selling " for options we didn't need. We had visited several other dealers but were disappointed with their hard sell tactics, especially one place--reviewed separately--where my wife was told by the sales manager to leave the showroom after she'd asked about a car they'd advertised. ( Incidentally, isn't it pathetic that in this day and age she was treated badly IMHO because of her race and the fact that she's a woman? If I'd been there to witness that the sales manager would have been the one leaving the lot. But I digress!) Back to Patrick: if you're looking at Subarus, go to this place. I don't buy cars often for the sole reason of: 1. It's cheaper for me to maintain and keep my cars. 2. No one likes dealing with salesman/car stealerships! #1 is pretty strait forward, however I just moved out here for work and decided not to bring my car, thus I needed to purchase one, onward to point #2. #2 I had the pleasure of dealing with Luke Latham. I would consider him more a friend than a salesman. Luke was not a hard sell, he worked his a** off finding me what I needed and working with me on pricing. I went back n forth between a used Outback and a new Crosstrek and he didn't seem to mind. In the end I settled on a used Outback which is a great car! He promised me they would clean it up (it was a used car again) and when I came to pick it up it was hard to tell it apart from the new inventory. He was transparent on the pricing and told me exactly what he could do. I visited other dealerships from Subaru, Honda, Toyota, and eventually came back. Luke went above and beyond, way out of his way to make things as easy as possible for me, especially considering I am from the West Coast. He will respond when you leave him a message and he will help you find anything from a mechanic, restaurants, to real estate! Thanks Luke! Very positive experience at this dealership! read more

I purchased a brand new 2016 Legacy there and brought my Outback for service for years. After giving them many chances this last visit was the straw that broke the camel's back. They are double the price of other mechanics which I paid because I thought a Subaru certified technicians would do a good/better job. They quoted me double what Ramstrom's Auto Body did for a wheel bearing, oil change, and recharge of my AC. After being insulted by the new guy at the service desk I asked for my car back and left. Ramstrom's even put the dash back correctly after Subaru fixed an airbag recall and left it unclipped where my stereo is. Patrick Subaru is sloppy, rude, overpriced and not worth the hassle. Go see Ramstrom's on West Boylston Street. They are trystworthy, nice, and will leave you with a car that is better off than how you brought it in and not with a series of new problems/noises. (My husband's work truck and trailers are serviced there) Fady is the one person that I would recommend if you HAVE to bring your car to Patrick. He always treated me with respect and was wonderful but I can't trust them anymore. They've lost my business for both of our Subaru's. read more

Integrity is totally lacking here, and the staff clearly targets people to get them to agree to overpriced work. On Feb. 11th, 2019, I brought my Forester into Patrick Motors for recall work. I was told I needed $470. of work done (serpentine belt, spark plugs and differential service). Since the car has 90K miles on it, I agreed. There was also a 2nd recall. I scheduled that work and the minor repair work for the following week. I dropped off the car, and received a call a couple of hours later saying that I now needed $3440.00 in additional work done (leaks, etc. of which there had been no evidence). I challenged this, and said that I would need to get a 2nd opinion, and surprise! two hours later the cost had dropped by $600.! The agent told me that he had been given "bad information" and that he had also given me a 10% discount. I told him that I felt that I had been profiled as a target, being a woman, and over 60, which, of course, he denied. The mechanic also broke off the dip stick to the differential reservoir, which hopefully isn't still in there. (My request to see the pieces was ignored) My passenger side seat was in a fully reclined position as if someone had taken a nap in my car. Careless and greedy best describe the way this business operates. I will never give Patrick Motors any more business, whether it be recall, maintenance work or a new vehicle. read more

We were helped by Joe D. throughout the process which began a few months ago when we first started looking to purchase a car. From day one, he was never pushy, and was actually quite the opposite. He was super down to earth and told us exactly what we needed to know about the ins and outs of the car and the options that we could get, all without trying to up-sell us things that we didn't need. Todd helped us to track down the car that was everything we were hoping for and got it for us in plenty of time (we were in a bit of a time crunch). Both he and Joe D. were extremely helpful and responsive when we called with lots of questions. The end result is us having the perfect car and a great loyalty to this company. My wife and purchased a 2016 USED Heavy Duty work truck traded in for a Subaru 3 weeks ago and purchased truck for over 40k. The buying process was easy and communication between all parties was great - until after the sale. Patrick Subaru sold us the vehicle and did not check safety standards in Massachusetts prior to taking the vehicle home instructing us to have the vehicle inspected within 7 days. It would not pass Mass Inspection due to brake light issue we were unaware of. We live 2 hours from Patrick Subaru, so going back and forth for diagnosis, part order and eventual fix are not feasible, especially with a diesel truck and 2 children. They will not work with you and compromise even for the simplest fixes for buyers long distance. Another problem arose with the truck, bad/corroded under-hood fuse box affecting towing/trailer lights and potentially worse down the road. Again, they will diagnose, order and fix but will not work and compromise after the sale. Even if a reliable trusted mechanic of yours understands the issue and willing to fix locally. Called sales manager/services manager and owner to help resolve problem- NO return calls. Your service BEFORE THE SALE will be better than AFTER THE SALE. Heads up there..... read more

They gave me a good deal (I had looked at other Subaru dealers) and was very knowledgeable about the car. The only reason why I have them 4 instead of 5 stars was because I felt like I was forced to buy an extended warranty (and it was annoying).
