Had to make a stop to try Patricks's Famous pies. The owner was friendly. A mini Sweet Potato pie was $15 & it didn't have the sweet potato taste that I'm used to. The crust was very thick & hard. For another $15 I bought a Peach Cobbler. The peaches seemed like it came from a can(since peach season doesn't begin until May-Sept.) I enjoyed this more than the Sweet Potato pie, but for $30 for 2 sample sized portions, unfortunately I'll have to pass. read more

If your motto is "the sweeter the better" then you'll want to check out Patrick. I found his desserts to be way too sweet and overpriced but comparable in cost to others I've seen who are trying to get their products recognized. I paid $55 for a small bag with a small peach cobbler, a small loaf of sweet potato bread, and a small sweet potato pie. The sweet potato pie was good. He explained that it had less sugar for diabetics. I thought it had the right amount of sugar for a regular dessert. Diabetics should avoid eating Patrick's treats. I think it's just a matter of Patrick studying his target audience for pop-up events and festivals beforehand and adjusting his ingredients accordingly. I would say half the amount of sugar in the cobbler and sweet potato loaf would have made it much better. Also, if possible, lower the cost for the 3 bagged items by at least $25. read more

I discovered Patrick's Famous white sweet potato pie today walking through the Vendor booths after watching the annual Redwood City 4th of July parade today. He had whole peach cobbler pies and mini and regular size white sweet potato pies. The mini pies were about 5 inch in diameter and came 4 to a pack for $40(cash), $45 for credit card/Apple Pay. The whole pies are the same price and is about 10/11 inch in diameter. We purchased the whole white sweet potato pie and just tried a slice and it is outstanding!! Like Patrick told us, their pies have little sugar added (it did not taste and/or have a sweet aftertaste) and the crust was amazing with a crisp crunch and tasted like it was caramelized BUT not sugary sweet! We highly recommend this pie and plan to order the peach cobbler pie this weekend! He can deliver (East bay) or ship to you. read more

I get these sweet potato pies whenever I see them at the market or festivals. Most recently I grabbed three at the mountain view art and wine festival. These are consistently amazing. The filling is not too sweet, moist and tender. The spices remind me of a sitting down to a holiday dinner without the family drama. The crust is crispy and delicious. Overall amazing and I always regret not getting more. There were also peach cobblers available when I went but I haven't ventured to anything other than my favorite pies. Wow....I really love these potato pies. I am always looking for delicious desserts that are not too sweet but yet full of flavor, and this hits the mark. So when we saw Patrick's stall at the Mountain View Art and Wine festival a few weekends ago, we bought one mini peach pie and one mini sweet potato pie. I'm not a fan of either flavors so that night when husband offered me a bite I initially passed but he insisted I try to sweet potato pie and it was DELICIOUS. It was buttery and tasted like real sweet potatoes without it being too sweet. I didn't taste the peach pie but my husband said it was not bad but the peaches didn't taste fresh. First tried Patricks Famous Pies at a holiday fair. The taste and texture were balanced with crisp crusts... pure comfort and enjoyment. The cobbler was a surprise in itself and simply left you wanting a lot more of it. Their bread was moist, nicely flavored - tasted great. We took a couple of everything home with us, some of it lasted to the holiday we were getting ready for, but some of it sorta vanished as soon as we got home. Since then, we've ordered pies to be shipped as we live in another state. The pies always arrive promptly and taste just as good as that first bite several years ago. Before ordering through the website was a thing and you had to call on the phone, I always received the most friendly service. It was like calling a friend and getting them to deliver. In short, AWESOME customer service. Just ordered more items; added a couple extras in case a one or two "disappear" before making it to the Thanksgiving table this year. read more

This was the last day of the Fest, and towards the end of the day. I went back to the booth and they were selling the pies for half the price. I have seen this vendor before at other festivals in the past, selling sweet potato pies, peach cobbler and sweet potato bread. The price of three individual size sweet potato pies in a bag was $14.00; peach cobbler (4"x5"x2"), $12.00. A package deal of pie, cobbler and bread was $25.00. Wow...it certainly was pricey for the three assorted items. I like peach cobbler, but seeing his version of it left me with this strange feeling that there was more dough than peaches. I decided to forego the cobbler, figuring it was not worth the cost. Then after reading other reviews re: the peach cobbler, I'm glad I did not purchase it for my husband. It would have resulted in a lower rating to two stars. The sweet potato pie tasted good, except the crust around the edge of the pie was hard. I broke my plastic fork trying to eat a portion of the crust. Even though the vendor showed me an article, claiming that each pie had one gram of sugar, I could only eat a small portion of it. I did not want to over indulge and have my glucose level elevated. Only time alone will tell when I have another portion of it to see what impact it has on my glucose reading. Overall, it's either a hit or a miss. I'm leaving the rating at three stars. read more

Just tried Patrick's pies for the first Time and wow they are amazing I had the white Sweet potato pie and I'm not kidding you the best pie I've ever tasted. I came across him at the rib cook off in Sparks Nevada today 91 2021 and bought a sampler pack that had a small sweet potato pie sweet potato bread and a peach cobbler and it was worth every penny. If you're heading out to the rib cook off in Sparks Nevada this weekend you need to stop by his Booth and get something hopefully he still has some of those white sweet potato pies. I found this place at a Campbell's Festival last May. I paid $46 for peach pie and sweet potato pie! Never again! The peach pie was very buttery, good flavor but the peaches were canned, could have been better if it was fresh, and for the price of $25 for a small tin? Way too pricey! Experienced the $25 sampler at the Dublin Irish festival. A few things, you can sample the sweet potato pie and sweet potato bread before you buy it which is great because these are obviously different from some of the experiences you've probably had in the past. First off, if you enjoy pumpkin pie you may really like the sweet potato pie. Often pumpkin pie is actually butternut squash pie, but sweet potato pie is even more fragrant and delightful. The crust has it's crunchy bits almost like candy along the edges but it's delightful. The bread is super moist and doesn't have a strong flavor of sweet potato but it's also delightful. I haven't tried the peach cobbler yet, but it looks exactly like what I'm expecting. For folks complaining about price, a single tasty large pie from Whole Foods runs you $25 during the holiday season. Here you can get a variety of tasty treats. Additionally, everything is super well wrapped. The pie comes in its own little tin. Great folks. Let me start by saying I did not visit the store, but he was selling pies in Reno at the rib cook off and boy was I not disappointed!!! I had never had sweet potato pie so I wasn't sure what to expect. Delicious. Pure and simply delicious. Each pie is less then a gram of sugar so it's naturally sweetened and good for people who are diabetic. The crust is perfect, not too flakey and not dry and the flavor is outstanding. I loved that they were sold as miniature pies so I don't feel guilty after eating a whole pie, which I did! I wish I would have gotten the bread to try that as well. Was excited to see stop and try the Peach Cobbler at the Downtown Alameda Art & Wine Festival. I ended up being quite disappointed for multiple reasons: 1. $12 for a 4x5x2 container of peach cobbler! 2. 6 peach slices in the cobbler!!!!! 3. The crust was very sponge-like, very doughy. 4. He was very insistent that my daughter try his product even though she clearly told him that she did not care for it. Again, I was very hopeful that I would enjoy this $12 pie. I was able to sample Patrick's Famous Pies at the Encinitas street fair last weekend and I loved the white sweet potato pie so much that I bought 3 of the mini pies. Now that all three are gone I wish I would have bought a dozen! I think the crust on Patrick's white sweet potato pie is the best crust I've ever had. It wasn't too bland or too sweet and it had an unbelievable crunch at the edges but was moist at the same time. I have never been a big fan of sweet potato pie mainly because it was always very cloyingly sweet to me. Patrick's Famous white sweet potato pie was the perfect amount of sweet. I didn't get a chance to try any of their other pies or breads but I wish now that I would have. I live down in Chula Vista and wish there was a Patrick's Famous Pies closer to me! I came across this vendor at the Walnut Creek farmers market after I got off work one morning and just stopped to pick up some produce for the week. The table hadn't even been set up yet and the smell of the WARM cobblers drew me in. We purchased a small peach cobbler and several of the potato pies, and yes they are a bit pricey but a splurge once in a while is good for the soul...The warmed cobbler was heavenly for breakfast with a fresh cup of joe and unfortunately I didn't get to taste the pie since my man ate mine and his before I could give it a try! That says a lot since my SO is not really a desert person...so this Sunday I will be back for more pies, another peach cobbler and I will add a pear cobbler to the list if there are any like last week (the smell alone was worth it!) Complete rip off! Spent $12 on a 4x4 dish of what this guy calls peach cobbler at the Marysville Peach Festival. It looked good sitting on the table, but then when I tried to stick my fork in (that I had to grab from another booth), it bent my fork. Listen, sir, cobble dough is supposed to be fluffy and spongy, not gelatinous and rubbery. Oh and by the way those of us who are real bakers can tell when you use canned peaches. Shameful! read more
