I couldn't wait to stop in this super fun pink shop!! We made it in with 10 minutes to spare before closing time on a Saturday evening. The gal inside was super inviting and cheerful. She informed us about some of the different flavors of taffy. Seeing all the options was a little overwhelming, NGL. We settled on Maple Bacon (my favorite), Mango (his favorite) and a variety bag for my kids. I love savory candy so I thought the Maple Bacon was amazing!! The Mango was very well-received as well. Believe it or not, it's been a week and we haven't even opened up the variety bag yet! I didn't have time to look at all the fun novelty items, so we will be back by again for sure! read more

If you're a salt water taffy lover, this place is unbeatable! We stayed a few days in Bodega Bay on a recent vacation and this shop was recommended to us. SO glad we stopped! It's quirkiness is as fun as the variety of flavors they have-to be honest, it was a bit overwhelming. I think I would have driven my wife crazy if I stayed any longer to make my decision. The place is very tiny and a lot is crammed in that small space. The day we came, the person who waited on us wasn't terribly friendly or helpful, BUT...the taffy we bought was delicious and a surprisingly great bargain. I HIGHLY recommend the sour flavors. The "salt water taffy" sign caught our eye as we were driving by, and the spacious parking lot made it convenient to make a stop on a Saturday afternoon after attending a festival nearby. Got an assorted bag of these sweet treats, a couple of the taffy pieces were not so fresh and chewy, but most of them were good. They offer more than just salt water taffy here, they have stuffed animals, t-shirts, various souvenirs, and chocolate! I, of course, got myself some chocolove, extra strong dark chocolate, with a sweet love poem inside the candy bar wrapper. Yummy! Service was standard, no waits, no problems. I don't remember the last time I had taffy (maybe 7+ years ago.....?). Just haven't really had another chance to come across it for a really long time. So, you can imagine how thrilled I was to see so many different taffy flavors here lol. Was planning to choose 5 flavors in mini bags but ended up with 10 (and even then I wanted more but enough was enough). Got some of my go-to ones like Neapolitan and passion fruit. Nicest surprise out of the bunch that I got was the cookies and cream one (like a Tootsie Roll but with more milk taste). Least favorite one was the red velvet one (idk it just didn't taste like red velvet to me.....more like a weirdly tasting cream cheese frosting if anything lol). Very cute small taffy shack. Such a charming little landmark! Located right on CA Hwy 1 in Bodega Bay. It's the go to and frankly only place to get some great taffy which lots of flavors to choose from. They also have other candy and Knick knacks. I picked up way too much taffy and I'm still eating it since I visited over a month ago. They are open for in store purchases and curbside pickup in addition to shipping! The store interior is tiny so they monitor a limited number of customers in store. I stood in line for my turn in the queue. When it was my turn I walked inside and it was like that classic holy sound of a choir singing AHHHHH! you know what I'm talking about... okay, maybe not that dramatic but my palate got excited LoL! I found a a great variety of flavors and picked up a few bags. They have every imaginable flavor combination of salt water taffy. I am not a huge fan but the flavor choices here are enormous! Loads of parking and it is located right off the highway. Choosing a flavor was so hard and I ended buying more than I could eat. Immediately upon walking in the smell is sweet and delightful. Plenty of cute trinkets too which I fought the urge to buy. So when we visited during Covid we had to make a stop and grab some taffy. Parking isn't too bad and they only let customers in one at a time for social distancing. I stopped by around lunch and it was a pretty foggy day. They had me sanitize and everything was pre packaged. The girls that were working didn't seem too friendly when I asked them a question in regards to other places open or fishing areas around the town. Maybe things change often? I tried asking what's pretty popular too and they just pointed to one of the bags so I got a variety mixed bag. We picked up several different flavors to sample including red velvet, s'more, chicken and waffles, birthday cake, chocolate peanut butter, and strawberry cheesecake. Some of the flavors were absolutely delicious - chicken and waffles was surprisingly good. But other flavors were severely disappointing like s'more. And some of the taffy was clearly very old to the point where you almost broke your teeth trying to bite into it ... Look at the photos. This is THE place to buy salt water taffy. Amazing quantity and variety. They are packaged all sorts of ways or you can do your own selection. They also have pre-packaged bags, great to buy if you have grandchildren in the car. By the way, leave them in the car and YOU bring back a bag of taffy. Kids will go crazy if they get inside and if you let them pick what they like, get your wallets out as their eyes will drive them to possibly gather more than they can carry. Happy we took that drive to Bodega Bay =) I had to see why would people stand in line on a cold windy day..well, happy to say that I stood in that line with them and it was worth it. I met a couple in line that says this is where they would drive to get their taffy because it's so delicious and you can taste the salt water. It's a small candy store and half of it is filled with assortments of salt water taffy...yum!! I didn't know what to choose but I got my fix. They have other types of sweets and knickknacks for sale as well. They're limiting the occupancy in the store and when it's your turn, you'll be asked to sanitize your hands at the entrance. I think my first experience with this saltwater taffy was when I was a kiddo. You really can't not notice the pink and white striped storefront and the large signs proclaiming saltwater taffy. Every time after, when I come through Bodega Bay, I have to stop here and get a bag of saltwater taffy, and I've never regretted it. With covid changing the way so many businesses do things, I was curious to see how this establishment would handle social distancing and commerce. On my most recent trip out, we pulled over to get some salt water taffy and they had an outdoor order taking area with all of their flavors tacked up on the wall for consumers to choose from. I was thrilled to see that they continue to have many diverse flavors and offer their mixes and single flavors in an assortment of sizes. I usually choose a 1/2 lb of the dessert mix and hubby usually goes for a couple selections of single flavors in the citrus department. The only flavor I don't like is the cinnamon, however I've only encountered it a couple times so overall it's really not that negative of an impact. Prices are good and service is friendly and fast, with convenient on-site parking. I imagine this place will continue to be a not to miss establishment for many generations to come. read more
