They accepted my tow request then proceeded to miss the ETA, say it'll be another 1.5 hours ETA from the original ETA, and then when calling it goes straight to voicemail when me and even my insurance calls them. I needed the tow by a deadline, I put in the request early and they had 3 hours AFTER ACCEPTING the tow to arrive and left me with more problems. Took 5+ hours, two days in a row to try and get a tow for my car from one mechanic shop to another. I don't know what their policy is for who gets priority for towing (like an ER or urgent care clinic - accidents get priority?) or if it's first-come-first-serve... but something needs to be fixed. It felt like there was no sense of urgency or any care that my car needed to be towed asap. I personally, for myself, don't care it took that long as it doesn't really affect me, but it disrupted two different businesses, three if you include my friend who's buying my car from me who owns a used car dealership... and that's NOT cool. I was assigned a tow through progressive insurance for roadside assistance. 4 times I was given a false response time: 90 minutes, 60 minutes, 30 minutes, and 17 minutes chronologically. Actual response time was over 4 hours and thirty minutes. It's not clear how they got the wrong address-- it's not one I would have provided to roadside assistance. In person I told the driver the name and location of the shop is was going to, and that they were expecting it, and instead he dumps it at a pizza place, unlocked, keys in the passenger compartment, without talking to anyone. A conscientious service-- the kind of service you *would* want handling your $3000-30,000 car-- would quickly call or text to confirm the address. Mistakes happen, and that should have registered as an obvious mistake. Instead I had to find out from my repair shop *the next day* that they didn't receive it. On the phone they were kind enough to tell me where they abandoned it, but were otherwise defensive and unhelpful. I asked why he couldn't have called or texted me when it was clearly the wrong location-- the Patriot phone representative felt that was an outrageous expectation. In that two minutes he could have been out making bucks moving someone else's car! So: this Patriot Towing is capable of moving your car... *somewhere*, if you supervise them the way you would a reticent 12 year old doing the dishes. Or you can just call a company interested in providing more than the barest legal minimum service. I ordered a tow through goodsam roadside. Once the tow was assigned, I called to get an eta, because goodsam sent me a text saying tow was on the way. I called Patriot Towing to verify the time. From the moment the person answered the phone he was extremely rude and short. While at it, he mentioned my tow would most likely be an hour late. Would give 0 stars if I could. They towed one of our fleet vehicles less than five miles and for some unknown reason they took apart the drive line which mechanic said was stupid . They didn't even put back together just threw the bolts on floorboard and didn't tell the repair shop the drive line was disconnected, they didn't even secure the bearing caps just left them dangling, totally rookie tow stuff. This is a work van with stuff on floorboard so repair shop did not see bolts on floorboard, when they got it running and went to move it damaged the u joint on drive line and had to repair. The rude woman who answered phone said they would not cover that repair or take responsibility and that repair shop was stupid for not seeing bolts on the floorboard and I was ridiculous for even complaining or asking them to cover repair and hung up on me. This business is shady and a big scam. Do not use! Make sure you tell your insurance company that you don't want these crooks to tow your car. They will find a way to bring your car into their lot, claiming numerous reasons why they couldn't deliver it to the service company. It took 4 days and having to pay an additional $500 for them to release our car. When we tried to get another tow company to pick it up from their lot (btw ended up being a sister company to them), we were told that no one can get in after 4pm. So they kept our car for 4 days, really pretty much stole our car even after we gave them our credit card three days earlier so we can just get our car out. There's a reason why this company only has a 1 1/2 star rating on Yelp. I am not the first person they have done this scam on. I don't like that we have to put a star because Patriot Towing deserves 0 stars. On June 27 2023 we called for a tow, and it took three hours for them to come and get our car. We let our mechanic know at auto works that the car was coming to them. mechanic said that no one will be there but go ahead and drop it off cause it's after hours and to put the key in the night box. Then on July 3 2023 we called my auto works, and the mechanic said there was no car there, so then we reached out to Patriot Towing to see where our car was and they said that the car had been in their storage for the last seven days and no one attempted to even reach out to us, It's just been sitting in their storage and no one ever contacted us via phone or anything all through email until day 14 when we called them. So then on day seven they claimed that we owed almost $600 also, they claim they called our insurance company and stated that they couldn't drop it off at an unsecured location and after threatening to call the authorities to show up, they said they would drop all storage fees and they would finally tow it to our house but we would have to pay $120 in CASH only. I was cut off by a patriot towing truck on N Columbia in Portland in the pouring rain today. When I slammed on my breaks and barely avoided hitting him, he proceeded to flip me off through his back window, as though it was my fault that he cut me and another car off. When I pulled up next to him at the light, I tried to take a photo of his truck number and information. He then waved, smiled and tried to intimidate me after he just flipped me off and saw that I was trying to record his information. Avoid, and do not let your Roadside Assistance use this unprofessional vendor! Specifically ask them NOT to use Patriot Towing. I called through my insurance for a tow at around 9 am. I was told Patriot Towing had taken the dispatch, but I would have to wait until 10:30 for the right truck. OK, it happens. At 10:45 I called to ask where it was. The dispatcher (who claims she is also the manager) was completely unapologetic and told me they were running behind and he would be another half hour. At 11:20 I called my insurance and they reached out again and relayed that the driver would be there in 20 minutes. At 11:40 the driver (who was very nice) arrived IN THE WRONG TRUCK, because my 1-ton 4WD needs a flat bed for a tow. My truck details were all in the call info so this shouldn't have been a surprise. He apologized and said several drivers had called out ("you know, because it's a nice day") and said the flat bed would be another 90 minutes. After he left I saw that I'd received a call while I was talking with the driver, so I called Patriot again and said this is [name], it looks like you tried to call me while your driver was here." The dispatcher/"manager" replied "I don't know what you're talking about. Who are you?" I said "you're very unprofessional. Is this a tow company dispatch?" She then said "you call up and don't identify yourself and call me unprofessional?" And then hung up on me. I called back multiple times on different numbers and she would either pick up the phone and hang it up or just reply "stop calling us, good day." I had to go back through my insurance company to find out she'd just cancelled my tow, after FOUR HOURS of waiting. Unprofessional, rude and uncaring. Like other reviewers, I sincerely hope their business fails and they go out of business soon so they're not ever offered as an option to stranded motorists ever again. I'll be leaving this review on the BBB website and every other online site their business is mentioned, over and over again, to hopefully influence people to avoid them. No one should ever be stranded and have to deal with uncaring individuals like this dispatcher/"manager". After the car was towed to their lot I went to remove our belongings and, in front of two of my family members, gave them permission for my insurance company to tow the car to their inspection facility. AVOID this company at all costs! Very rude and unprofessional. I got a flat tire by the airport in Portland Oregon, and Farmers roadside assistance scheduled a tire change with Patriot Towing. It was late on a Saturday night, pouring rain and speeding traffic going by. Farmers gave me a 30 min estimate which they confirmed in their app. When I called Patriot to confirm the location, they said they quoted an hour because their driver was up in Woodland, Washington, and that he was on his way down. So hard to tell if the time misquote was Farmers fault, or Patriots. I said I would give Farmers a call to see if there was anyone closer and I would call him back right away if we had to cancel. He said no problem and no need to call him back because if the job got canceled, Farmers would notify them automatically. I called Farmers and was on the phone for over 20 minutes before we determined that Farmers was unable to provide a better option. I called Patriot back to ensure that Farmers hadn't canceled on their end. The Patriot dispatcher the responded, "ok, I'll tell the driver to get back on the road." What????? I repeated back to him that he told me I wouldn't need to call him back if Farmers cancelled, and asked if he didn't think he should have told me he was going to have the driver stop driving to my location. He said it's their policy to always wait until they get confirmation from the client. I reminded him this was the opposite of what he'd told me earlier and if I had known that at the time I would have made a final decision right then and there: confirm the current service vs incurring any further delay, reminding him I was stranded late at night in the pouring rain on a busy expressway exit. I asked him why he didn't tell me he was going to delay the driver and how long he would be now. He cut me off and said he was going to cancel the service, because he didn't deserve to be spoken to that way. Wow. I wasn't being rude or belligerent at all, just asking valid questions. I guess he considers being held accountable as rude. If I hadn't given him a courtesy call back I would have been stranded almost another hour before I realized something was wrong and they weren't coming after all. I called around and found a nearby company called Northwestern Towing whose dispatcher was compassionate and reassuring over the phone, and then got a friendly and efficient driver out to me in 11 minutes. Ten minutes later I was back on the road going home. Complete opposite experience. I would like to start off by saying that this is a completely honest review and I did attempt to see both sides of the situation. I own a small business so I'm not in the game of bashing on other services for small issues. Here's the story: 1. Car broke down 2. USAA dispatched me to this company 3. Estimates wait time of 1 hour 4. After one hour I called and patriot claimed 1 more hour 5. After another hour I called. They said one more hour 6. After the third hour I called. They said one more hour 7. After 4 hours of waiting they cancelled the tow 8.USAA scheduled another another company Things to consider: I know that the dispatch could have been dropped on this company unexpectedly. The issue I have is that the person I spoke with from patriot's should have been able to see where his driver was going and how long it would have taken to get to me. His driver was going from Vancouver to Longview (about a 1 hour 45 minute drive) and then back to me (about a 45 minute drive) that's AT LEAST 2 hours and 30 minutes. At this point they should have canceled the tow; instead they decided to wait 4 hours and then cancel the tow. Patriots Towing Response: The guy who I talked to did apologize and said he was doing the best he could for what it's worth. He claimed that they had the person they were towing change their address. I don't think this is a valid response as their original destination was going to take at least 2 and a half hours. ATTENTION USAA CUSTOMERS: Whenever you need roadside assistance ask to speak to a supervisor. They have access to additional recourses. This means faster service and someone monitoring your status.
