What a horrible experience. I ordered 1 Chicken Quesadilla, 1/2 order of Beef Quesadilla and $10.00 worth of dip. They overcharged my credit card $50.00. These people were terrible. It took 20 minutes to get my money back and the order was still incorrect. It was switched. I wanted the manager. I could not start the order all over again there were people waiting for their food and their lunch was going to be over. I wanted to know how they could try to steal my money and mess this order up twice. I wanted to know how the service could be that bad. The manager told me if I did not like it don't come back. I let him know I would share that information with all my friend and let them know not to come back either. The food had been tossed around and the Quesadillas were covered with sour cream and guacamole. It was terrible. The manager was so rude and nasty but I do regret calling him a dick. He bowed up and acted like he wanted to hit me. I did not feel safe. Is this the kind of environment that you want. This is such a wonderful restaurant! I had several friends come to town and we decided to eat at Patrón for lunch. Everything we had was terrific! The guacamole was fresh and flavorful. The meat for both the beef and chicken fajitas was absolutely perfect, a nice char on the outside while still being tender and juicy. I find it unsanitary to put a line of pitchers of drinks( tea and water) infront of the computer where they put orders. Waitstaff and kitchen employees just go in the computers with the drinks on it. I dont think so its very unsanitary and yucky. Not coming back. I wish they will separate or will have its own counter for those pitchers of drinks for customers. read more

A friend and I went there for happy hour after work yesterday. The wait staff were very nice and attentive. The margaritas were good and strong. I ordered the El Chicano I believe it was called. It was a tamale, cheese enchilada, fajita steak stuffed avocado, rice and beans. Everything tasted great except the beef fajita meat. It tasted like it was deep fried. I've had fajita beef stuffed avocados at other restaurants that were delicious, but this one was not. As for the decor, it's very brightly colored all over the place, and not for my particular tastes. My friend had the shrimp cocktail and a soft taco that he devoured with no complaints. HORRIBLE. Fajitas tasted like they were previously frozen. Tortillas were hard. The kids got the chicken nuggets and fries, both of which were burnt to a crisp so bad they crumbled into dust. Couldn't even taste any potato inside the fries. The Sprite had no syrup in it, so it was just carbonated water. And the only thing that could have possibly saved this terrible waste of money...the margaritas...terrible. Tasted like I was sipping one of those pre-made margaritas in a can, and THAT would have had more tequila in it. The food is good Texas well Houston doesn't really have any Authentic Mexican Food it's all TexMex nasty stuff no flavor this restaurant has been the by far the best so far. Recently went with a couple of friends, had a great time, the ambient was awesome, but services was not so great, got charged more than what I was supposed to pay. When I received the bill it was $47 which was the amount I should of payed, I gave the waitress my card, she came back with a receipt with a different amount of $60 and I asked why, she couldn't give me a definite answer and ended up saying that maybe because she charged me for my other friends drink and told me she couldn't reimburse my money and charge me again. I have been to this restaurant on a few occasions. But on June 19, we went here for my daughter's birthday. The hostess that greeted us was really friendly. However, after we were seated, it took all most a half hour for the waiter to come over and ask us if we wanted something to drink. After we did get our drinks, it took another hour for us to get our food. Only, because I spoke with the manager. He was not a nice person, did not seem to care about what I was saying to him. The waiter did not speak good English, so it was hard to communicate with him. The restaurant did not have that many people in it. We had around 27 people. I understand that it takes a while when there is a group. But, had the customer service been good, it would not have been a big problem. The food was not good at all. I don't know if they have a different cook or not, but, everyone at the table had something to say about not liking the food. Thursday night six of us decided to try Patrón Grill for the first time. They were very busy but able to seat us quickly. Waiter arrived as we were sitting down and took our drink order. This place has some very well trained waitstaff. Next we ordered Queso with fajita meat. Unbelievable! Fajita meat is so tender and flavorful. Every plate we ordered was amazing. I have to update my review. When this place first opened the service and food was great! Fast forward to today .... I sat at the bar where about 15-20 gnats were lingering over the fresh fruit that goes into the margaritas. I know the bartenders could see but did not try to swat them away. The main bartender seemed overwhelmed by the 5 patrons sitting at the bar. After gettting my food I waited and waited to get their attention for silverware. And waited another 15- 20 to get the soda I ordered. By this point I'm done. I get my check and miraculously my soda appears- thanks but no thnks. My girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try on a Friday night date. We were encouraged by the amount of people waiting to be seated as well as how full the parking lot was. This place used to be a Black Eyed Pea. I sure do miss it. But I digress. Parking was a bit hard to find as the lot is small. The wait wasn't too terribly long though they had skipped us on the list and had not come outside and called our name to be seated. Once inside, they were not following the rules set forth for seating customers according to Covid 19 protocols. However, all employees were masked. They were friendly. Service was a little slow but they were extremely busy for the amount of staff they have. I like how crisp the chips were and they were tasty. I prefer my salsa to be chilled but it was not bad. The food was just mediocre. My girlfriend had the beef fajitas and they were a bit charred. They seemed to be seasoned well. The tortillas were chewy. I had some combo that included a taco, cheese enchilada, tamale, rice, refried beans, and guac. The tamale was excellent and I would order them again. My girlfriend enjoyed the guac. It's not that the other food was bad, they just weren't anything to write home about. The atmosphere was quite loud as they had a singer the night we went. People seemed to really be enjoying themselves. I don't know if we will be back as Houston has its fair share of good mexican food restaurants to just be ok with average.
