Solid pizzeria. I've eaten here twice. The first time I grabbed 2 regular cheese slices. Ordered at the counter, waited a few min and I was served. The 2nd time i grabbed a chicken parm sandwich. Its Sunday. Football season. I stop in 30 minutes before the game to order a cheesesteak and fries to take back home. There is barely anyone here to take orders and cook food. I've been here for 20 minutes and there are still 2 people in front of me. There are 5 TVs in this place and none of them have the game on. There's no Philly pride in this place. Hanging out in NE philly and decided to grab a pizza. $15 for an 18 inch pie is a pretty good deal. Place was filled with people eating in and carrying out. Lots of locals greeting each other before grabbing a table which is always a good sign! Our pizza was delicious. Not greasy and a great blend of cheese and sauce with a delicious crust. Pat's used to be great, but at some point recently, they decided to downsize their portions. Take the lasagna, for instance. There used to be a generous portion the size of a dinner plate and some lovely bread. The last time I ordered it, it came in a little square container with no bread. Same price though. Even their pizzas are suffering. I like thin crust pizza but they now use so little dough they might as well just put sauce and cheese on the bottom of the box. I understand they are in business to make money but there are too many options in our area for them to get so chintzy with their portions. Over the years, I went to college, moved and had a life, but always remembered Pats' number! That's how much I loved Pats! They have the best meatballs-ever!!! Their pizza is VERY good! Any dinner is tasty, but $$$ Lately, I've seen some changes, but I always call to let them know. They try to fix things for you. For example, you need to now stress sauce on a meatball parm. You need to speak slow for the girl that takes orders on the phone and have her repeat it back. Prices are high, but their food is very good and has a taste of homemade. It must be hard to get knowledgeable and consistent help so be patient. Another good thing is that when you order, they are at your door before you know it. Just check your order. We got someone else's chicken tenders, which were great and didn't get our meatball parm! For the recent mix ups and all, I have them only 4 stars. They had been 5 stars in my mind for years. Gave Oats another 4 tries. Each time my order was not quite right. 1. Hardly any sauce on meatball sand. 2. Literally 4 onion rings in my order of- onion rings. 3. Pizza very inconsistent. I really enjoy the Marco Polo it consist of fresh scallops, shrimp, with celery black olives, and a tasty thick whit sauce on top of fresh pasta. Its only served on Thursday to Saturday now. I have been going tp Pats for more then 30 years. I had lunch with Pat himself many times. It was was once the best place to eat fresh cocked to order pastas without tablecloth prices. Great service also. But now that the kids are running it and it has changed big time. Prices are up, quantity is down. The girls working the dining room are always smiling but they are being abused. I was there last week and the manager was yelling at a server like she was a prison guard. Nobody deserves to be yelled at like that. Not when customers have to deal the a crying service person. I've been going to Pat's since I was a little girl and nothing has changed. From the 70's style signs above the takeout counter to the actual employees themselves, everything here is exactly as it was when I was a child. It was a special treat back then to go and sit in the full service side of the restaurant and listen to my parents reminisce about growing up in the area, and it's still a treat today. Anyone who knows the far northeast can tell you that, when things change up there it usually means an influx of chain restaurants and college bars. You won't find any Olive Garden-esque fake Tuscan food here, or any drunk co-eds. What you will get is a healthy portion of comfort food served to you by a neighborhood lady with a smile. On my most recent visit, I had the chicken parm, which was crispy, cheesy and not over sauced. For about $12, I got two chicken breasts, a huge portion of spaghetti, garlic bread, homemade minestrone soup, and an, admittedly, sad garden salad. It was a really good deal, to say the least, and very tasty. This is the kind of place that I want to see survive the economic crisis and maintain its status as a neighborhood gem. read more

Quick stop for a couple of slices and a drink on the way to a meeting. The shop was nice in a slightly dated sort of way, and the kitchen was out front where everyone could see what was happening. The service was friendly and prompt, as I told my waitperson I had a short time to get to my destination. She complied. The plain pizza slices were decent, but no better than what would pass for average in my part of the world. Crust was firm enough to hold up its weight, but not overly crisp. My son picked up an order for me and one for his family. We've always been satisfied but he got me a large cheesesteak but there was NO CHEESE ON IT. HE ALSO GOT ME A FRIED FLOUNDER platter with French fries. It wasn't flounder but fish paste covered in breadcrumbs and tasted like soap. It was reality disgusting. I don't know if this place changed hands but the food was sub par. Even the fries were disappointing because they were pièces not the large fries I always got from them. The food is phenomenal, the downside is that you are paying decent restaurant style prices while sitting in pizza place style booths that have duct tape on them because they haven't been updated or replaced in years. Here to rave about something other then pizza - their chicken Caesar salad. Three large pieces of grilled chicken, house made croutons and lettuce (wish there was more -- my only complaint). Great Cheese Steaks! amazing Rolls and a great ratio, Good Pizza for some reason i like it better by single slices but the pies are great as well. Great Fresh Sea Food if that's your thing ( not mine but girlfriends in the past and friends were MORE than happy. Chicken meals are great, portions of Chicken tenders are BIG and fairly priced and specialties are great. Whether, you order or sit in both great, their deliver is very very fast so be ready.., and not too pricy. As for Sit in Great service and environment. Ordered nearly a $100 delivery to our best friends that just had their 6th baby, so their family would have dinner when they got home from the hospital and not have to worry. For catering, you have to order a day in advance which I did yesterday. Today, Pat's called our friends and said "We are out of baked ziti, sorry." OUT of pasta, sauce and cheese at an Italian restaurant that we ordered 30+ hours in advance? Our friends said no problem we will just take the rest (18" pizza, 2 orders of chicken fingers, 2 orders of fries - especially for the kids to enjoy). Pat's said no and gave them a hard time about the entire order. Turns out their chef hasn't been in and he only comes in here and there. Really? Our friend said to forget it, she wasn't about to argue after having her 6th child, and they are now having to plan their own dinner. Thank you so much Pat's - thank you for asking to place a catering order one day early and still not being able to make it. But I would really like to thank you even more for not even following through with the rest of the order! If you don't have a chef in the kitchen, contact one of us right away! You had all day yesterday and most of the day today. It must be nice to be in a personable business dealing with people every day and not getting paid and telling people no. I am actually excited that my almost $100 will be going to another Italian restaurant in the area.
