New Haven style pizzeria. Razor thin crust. So thin that it's parve for Passover (I'm not a rabbi, so don't quote me on that). I'd compare the crust to matzah which is not a good comparison for a pizza crust. In retrospect, I would have opted for an entree or a topping heavy pizza instead of the the margherita pie which emphasized the dough. Service was super quick. We shared a margherita pizza and an order of zucchini strips with marinara.  The latter was fried but not at all greasy, while the former was not only incredible, it was big enough to easily feed three people with a little bit left over. Ordered delivery tonight. $75 for 2 orders of pasta that didn't even fill the bowls and 1 beet salad that had one beet in it. When eating the salad, I tasted bleach and began to gag. My husband and I decided to pay a visit to Patsy's Pizzeria after seeing the raving reviews. We live in the neighborhood and always see people dining here. To be honest, our dine in experience was mediocre. The pizza was room temperature when it was brought to our table and the breading itself was a tad soggy and didn't hold. We were truly disappointed. We decided to give them another try and ordered the sausage and pepperoni pizza for delivery. The pizza this time around wasn't soggy and was able to hold. After heating it up in the oven for 5 mins, it was perfect. I won't say this is my favorite pizza spot in the area, but the flavor is solid and if you don't mind reheating the pizza for a few minutes prior to eating it, then I would recommend ordering from Patsys only for takeout. read more

Such a tough time deciding whether to give Patsy's 4 or 5 stars. If 4.5 was allowed, that would be my pick. We started by sharing the Caesar salad and the blackened octopus appetizer. The salad was crisp and fresh. The octopus was amazing! Two thick pieces of perfectly cooked octopus. There was way more than I expected -- great value (which isn't something I've said often on our NYC trip). Then my daughters and I shared the vodka sauce pink pizza and my husband had the chicken Parmesan sandwich/sub. The pizza was unique and very tasty. The chicken sandwich was good but not a must have. Patsy's Famous Pizzeria, this isn't the original location but it was still very good. I went in the early evening on a Saturday and it was fairly empty. Walked in with no reservation needed after a long day of apartment hunting. The chicken parm was really good and it came out so quickly after ordering it, I was genuinely shocked. Giving it 4 stars but it's more of a 3.5 due to the hit and miss factor of the pies. It's overall just too inconsistent to deserve the rep. Mostly it's crust failure that disappoints, a bit too soggy and droopy in the center, yet somehow charred nicely. So some good, some bad. Even when I have asked for well done, the pie can come out sadly droopy. Service is always good. Atmosphere has a bit of the "classic" vibe. I want to like it. There are always people sitting outside this place when I pass by, so I decided to finally give it a try, though by ordering in (hopefully an in-person visit will happen soon). I got a mix of different things and overall, was happy with my order! Specifically: - garlic bread: fresh and very garlicky and olive oily, which gives it a double thumbs up - mozzarella sticks: definitely get this if you are dining in! Even with delivery, it was warm and cheesy. The marinara sauce that accompanied it was great too - cheese pizza: really reminded me of pizza in Italy. The chest is thin and the cheese is not overpowering. All in all, solid choice - ai funghi: three different mushrooms in a pizza which makes it nice and hearty. Something was missing though for me. Came here a few years ago and wasn't very impressed mostly because they gave us the wrong order and they didn't really do much about it. Decided to come back for a second chance recently. They were fairly empty for a Friday night, plenty of open tables, they have an enclosed yard in the back and patio seating in front of the restaurant as well. Ordered a margherita pizza with half pepperoni, chicken parm with penne and a dozen baked clams. Our food came altogether really quickly after we ordered. The pizza is super thin crusted, the half with pepperoni was soggier/floppier than the side without. This was a solid pie, thin and crispy for the most part. The chicken parm entree was pretty big, lots of cheese on the chicken cutlet, a good portion of penne comes with it, cooked al dente. The dozen clams were good as well, baked with lots of breadcrumbs. The prices on the menu is the price if you pay cash, they charge a bit more if you pay with card, and they add an automatic gratuity of 16% for parties of 2 or more. read more

We were hungry and in the area with some time to kill so decided to stop in for a late lunch. The customer service was on point from the moment that we opened the door. We were promptly greeted and seated. My friend wanted to stay on the healthier side without going for a salad so we settled on the Margherita pizza... Basil is healthy right?! Needless to say, we were both pleased with our choice. The sauce was yummy and the crust was just the right amount of thin. The 16-inch pie was the perfect portion for us; we both devoured our half. The baked clams were also really good because it was full of flavor. However, the order of 6 is more of a personal appetizer. My favorite item on the menu was the dessert - the tartufo. I normally order tiramisu but the table next to me ordered the tartufo. Yes!! Oh yes, folks! This place is for you if you want automatic 20% gratuity for dinner for two added to your $100 bill, for the worst pizza, 5 pieces of wings ($12!!), and the saddest beet salad! As the highest rated Patsy's in NYC, I think it's easy to get caught up in the hype especially since the Brooklyn standard for pies is so high. After many meals and outings here, I can attest to the tastiness of the pizza and think it's an ideal option for a post Barclay's event meal. Out of all the Patsy's locations, I feel confident that this is the best one. Like any good pizza parlor, the old school feel is already a big thumbs up. The walls are adorned with random portraits / photos of sports figures, vintage celebrities, and big screen TVs. They also have a patio out back complete with ceiling fans and tables for all group sizes. The smell of the coal oven baking away in the kitchen is a great way to get folks fired up. (#1) The pizzas are lovely. The thin crust and sauce go a long way in keeping the pies consistent. While the margherita tends to get a lot of love for its simplicity and presentation, I think the caprese (fresh mozz, tomato, basil) is a nice curveball since it has no sauce. I tend to go for the meaty macellaio (pepperoni, sausage, meatballs) but think the alla vodka with anchovies is easily their most underrated pie. When in doubt, an original pepperoni is always an excellent choice. Other foods I enjoy eating here include their chicken parm, the scogolio aka squid ink pasta with seafood, their octopus appetizer, and their non-rummy house made tiramisu. Some of the other forgettable items have been the calamari, linguine alla vongole, and their baked clams. Given how often people order the latter, I feel like I have to give it another shot. The one thing that has kept me from putting them in 5 star range has been the slow service. The staff is uber friendly and the delivery is pretty fast even. However drink orders have been slower than food at times and my group and I have been puzzled at how long it takes for them to get stuff out previously. We try not to focus too much on it since most things are good and the attitudes never reflect any potential issues. One of these days, I plan on enjoying a good warm pie in the cold weather, hopefully near one of the heaters on their outside patio. The place was cozy and our server (Anthony, I think?) was very friendly and welcoming. We shared a pitcher of sangria. This is Park Slope and Barclays area's best kept COVID friendly dining secret! They have a big open air patio in the backyard, with a roof and heaters! The pizza is better than ever, excellent pliable crust with bite, the tomato sauce fresh and unadulterated. We had the margarita which was wonderful but next time will get the classic cheese, a New York institution unto itself! The Caesar salad is big and crisp and fresh-tasting and the calamari is divine! Cool Hand Lu says: Pizza is my weakness and it's just not fair... Met up with a friend to wrap up August and a beautiful Sunday to indulge in some cheesy goodness... The outside section was spacious enough to be seated and socially distant from the other patrons. I was also glad to see that the waiter had on both a mask and gloves. We first ordered a simple Margherita pizza first. It took no time at all for the pizza to get to us. I imagine mostly because of this new normal, but still a pleasure when it was unexpected. It was a great pie and didn't last too long at all. The second pie was the vodka pie with mushrooms, anchovies and fresh garlic. Definitely a salt bomb! Was an excellent pie though... I paired my slices with a Peroni and my friend had a Chianti...(I think...). Both were thoroughly enjoyed. Service was great throughout the entire meal and never felt like we were being ignored or forgotten. My friend unfortunately dropped her leftovers and was able to get a mini pie to make up for it.
