Still holding its own years later, Fornino is a solid spot for good pizza. Lovely rooftop views in the Brooklyn Bridge Park Waterfront, service was a bit spotty throughout the meal. We both ordered the Mushroom Pizza (personal style with 4 slices) and shared a crisp Romaine Salad. There's a bar on site and while some tables have service, others are designated for ordering yourself at the counter. Still, it's a fun, enjoyable atmosphere to have delicious pizza. Been here many times and finally decided to put a review up. Took kid to pier6 playground so what could be better than pizza and salads after waterpark. The pizza here is consistently great. Mushroom pie is delicious, as is classic Margarita. But my fave over dozen visits remains the prosciutto and fig I also love their watermelon feta salad - light, zesty and refreshing - perfect for summer. We visited Fornino at their Brooklyn Bridge location for Sunday brunch. We love the rooftop atmosphere; there were plenty of umbrellas providing shade for the diners. Service here was prompt; as soon as we were seated, we were given a menu to browse. We started with local Brooklyn draft beer and their famous Anna Rose's meatballs served with bread. We then shared the thin-crust Calabrese pizza, which was delicious and more than enough for two people to share. Both dishes are delicious. It was a lovely afternoon with good food, a gorgeous Manhattan view as our backdrop, and awesome customer service. We will definitely be returning. read more

Obsessed as per usual! I just visited this spot yesterday, it is a gorgeous location. Great for photographs or just to enjoy the weather with a delicious pizza of your choice. Fornino is my favorite pizza hands-down every time they never miss. I feel like Chef Michael puts so much of himself into the menu in terms of ingredients, selection, and the philosophy behind the dough making, and you could taste that. I ate the entire order. I pass by this spot often during my walks, so finally came to check it out. Definitely get a table in the rooftop so you get a view of the city in the background. Once seated, you can scan the QR code to order or go up to the bar as well. The three of us shared the Roast Corn & Coppa ($22) to snack on. The pizza is Neapolitan style, which is light and crispy. The food here is frozen and defrosted to order. We ordered the Mac and cheese and it was cold in the middle and a bit sour!!! We did get a refund but it makes me wonder about the other food. You'll be given a buzzing device while you wait for your pizza. This is also a good time to find a place to sit. The pizza at Fornino is made in a wood fired oven. We waited around 40 minutes for it to be ready. There is just one size, it's about the size of a personal pizza. It is precut into four slices. This is a thin pizza, where the edges have a nice amount of char. There was a nice spreading of red sauce and a pretty generous amount of fresh mozzarella. This was a very delicious pizza! You could taste the smoke from the brick oven. I just wish they offered a bigger option. This pizza was $17. We both really enjoyed it! Delicious pizza, great view, and the New York energy. I've been here a few times and usually sit on their rooftop (which has really nice views), but when I came here last week Friday, it was closed so we sat on the patio. It was peak baby time so there were A LOT of kids around. The weather was really nice, so I was bummed the rooftop was closed. Fornino in Brooklyn Bridge Park is such a great location. A rooftop area, a more casual sitting area downstairs where you can bring your pup - they nailed the breezy casual vibe. My friend and i were here for probably 2 or more hours. We started with the Arancini and couldn't stop ordering more food (the arancini here are some of my favorite ever). Downstairs is a slightly different menu than the roof. I got the mango slushy that they were able to spike with vodka (so good) and my friend ordered off their wine menu. We also got the white sangria which was delicious. We also got the watermelon feta salad and sausage pizza. The watermelon salad was a big portion and really refreshing for summer. Fornino's pizzas are very good, especially given the setup of this restaurant. Stumbled on this pizza spot while looking for a slice in Brooklyn. This spot is inside a really popular food market and they didn't have any slices so we had to order whole pies. The pies were not that big and are perfect for 2. We tried the monzese, which had sausage, and the funghi, a mushroom pie. The wood fired crust is really firm but had a little more charring than expected. The crust held all the toppings and was crunchy and light. The ingredients were good but could have had more to enhance the pizza as a whole. They have other options such as hot dogs, sandos, and salads so you will find something to snack on here. read more

The only bathrooms available are the park bathrooms, which were so unsanitary and smelly that it ruined my appetite. Had the restaurant been responsible for the bathrooms, they would be slapped with a dozen health code violations. I initially went because I was craving pizza but it was a huge let down because firstly, the pizza was very burnt despite being thing. The crust tasted very ashy and the center of the pizza was still soggy. Also, they were very cheap with the toppings, only adding a few pieces of figs and prosciutto despite it being a fig and prosciutto pizza. I wasn't even able to taste the fig and the prosciutto was very salty making it very hard to eat. Had a huge team dinner here about two or three Wednesday's ago. It ran for about 2-3 hours and went very smoothly! We used the outdoor area for our group, consisting of: picnic tables, standing tables, high-top tables, umbrellas...everything you could want. We did the food in a catered style. Food and beverage was all actually very good. I have been here on my own in much smaller groups and it was still good. The vibes are really nice and summery. The roof is also really nice especially when the weather is nice. Service was also efficient and I saw no flaws. They were very accommodating with our large group as well. Had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. We reserved the outside upper level for 20 people. They are not open too late so I believe our reservation was for 6-8 pm ish. My side of the family accidentally went to the Greenpoint location, I was worried the staff would be annoyed half our party was late, but they were very nice about it. It's very casual with big picknick tables and umbrellas. Great view of the city too. We ordered pitchers of sangria, which seemed a bit over priced. Then we got a whole bunch of pizzas. The whole family loved them all even with everyone's dietary restrictions. The corn one was the best and the pizzas were priced right. My father-in-law was paying for everything, but they do not have table service, everything needs to be ordered at the counter witch was confusing for an old boomer, so we had to help him every time we wanted to order more. It actually did rain towards the end of our dinner and they really don't have any rain protection. But we were wrapping up anyways at that point. Fornino is a beautiful spot to stop for lunch or dinner when exploring Brooklyn Heights! The view is a bit obscured due to the volleyball courts nearby, but still great. I believe their seating is only outdoors, so would not suggest coming here in the winter or on a cold day. The location is a walk from the closest subway as well, so make a day of it if you come and walk the Brooklyn bridge piers or to Dumbo. When we went, you ordered off the QR code on the table and someone brought out the food to you. We always like to ask the servers their favorites on the menu before ordering, but it was pretty difficult to stop someone. The food came very quickly. We ordered their watermelon salad and Al Roker Pizza. The watermelon salad was solid, with nice and sweet watermelons but a bit expensive for the quantity given. The Al Roker pizza was good; the roasted pepper flavor comes out well. Their pizzas are individual sized pizzas (or one person would likely eat at least 3 out of 4 of the slices). Mhmm wood fired pizza. One of my favorite type of pizza. It's similar to the classic New York slice but taste more smokey and its. kind of thinner. The mushroom and margerita pizzas were on point. At Fornino Brooklyn Bridge Park you'll find fantastic views of the city skyline and volleyball courts down below, absolutely delicious wood-fired pizza, and totally spaced out picnic benches in the open air. When the weather's nice, this is quintessential summer vibes in covid times, replete with icy cold palomas and an actual enforcement of mask wearing when ordering or when patrons are away from their own table. This location is very ideal for casual group hangs. You order drinks at the bar and food separately at a different counter. Paying the bill can get tricky with group meals, particularly when certain friends like to throw back a few more drinks than others, but when each person has to open their own individual bar tab splitting the bill is a non issue. I'm that certain friend, btw. They really know how to make great pies here, so if a pie sounds good to you, you're bound to enjoy it. The Melanzane, which has ricotta, basil, eggplant, tomato and parmesan was *chefs kiss* as was the Peaches E Prosciutto. They even had a cheeseless pie for our friend with a dairy allergy that was made delicious by the copious amount of garlic and olive oil on top. The crust is so good here that it carries its weight to make each pie delicious, with cheese or not. Aside from the pizza the smashed potatoes and rice balls were so tasty our small group quickly devoured two orders of each. We ended our meal with a round of paletas, these amazing popsicles they serve from the store La New Yorkina, with flavors like mango chili and horchata. On a hot summer's night we couldn't have asked for a more refreshing way to round out the evening. read more

Great spot to eat pizza with a view but that's about it. I've been to their Greenpoint location before and thought the food was fantastic. Unfortunately, I don't think this location met the same bar of quality. It wasn't bad, but nothing special either. We ordered the Funghi Misti (mushroom truffle) and Margherita Classica. Our pies came in less than 10 minutes. The crust was a bit on the soft side and the Funghi Misti could've used more truffle oil. They accept reservations and will give up your table if you do not arrive within 15 minutes. All staff wore masks; menus and tables were wiped down. To order, you have to go up to the front. Everyone was very understanding and accomodating. If you're looking for a casual place where you can sit down and have a nice meal with a view, this is a great place to consider. If you're a big foodie on a gourmet hunt for the best pie (or something to remind you of the times in Italy), I'd suggest checking the other pizza parlors near DUMBO or Fornino's Greenpoint location on a day where hopefully chef Michael Ayoub is in. read more
