The old restaurant here had probably the most miserable service of restaurants in the Area in Baltimore. Luckily, this was a huge improvement. My date and I each ordered the Publick House Burgers. They were seasoned well, but I think the buns could have been better. It tasted and looked like something bought from Safeway. If I'm spending $15+ on a burger, that bun should look more than store-bought. I was happy with the drink I ordered and the side of grilled Brussel sprouts. I definitely want to explore more or their menu. read more

Here for a leisurely Sunday brunch, we were ultimately a bit disappointed after reading all these great Yelp reviews. Our meal was just ok. Service was fine. The space is nice, although the overhead HVAC ductwork seems a bit overwhelming... I got the PPH Breakfast: scrambled eggs, home fries, wheat toast, and really thick crunchy bacon. We got a side of fried Brussels sprouts - okay. My partner got the Canadian Bacon Benedict which was good - yummy biscuit. So, things were fine but not great. The brunch menu didn't have as big a selection as I would have liked. read more

I really wanted to like this place, since I'm all for new places opening up in this neighborhood. However, it felt like they hadn't found their stride yet. Do they want to be a bar with traditional but really well-done bar food? Or a hip restaurant with new and out of the box offerings? Our wings were just okay and they were out of brussel sprouts, which I really wanted to try. The food was underwhelming and it was really loud. Our table for two was in the bar area, which felt too crowded for another table. Would give it another try and hope they've found their groove. read more

Neighborhood gem! This is our go to happy hour place. Happy hour specials- $5 drafts (16 or 20 oz), $5 wine, $5 small plates. The small plate happy hour options rotate! Highly suggest the brussels if they are an option. Drinks- the new blue note cocktail is light and refreshing. They have an incredible wine and beer selection as well. Atmosphere- quaint, welcoming, great neighborhood space Food- my favorite include the brussel sprouts, bread/butter/cheese plate (you choose the cheese, a few options presented), chicken sandwich. Updating my previous review because PP House has become significantly more kid friendly - they now kids eat free on Tuesday evenings! With a kids menu (grilled cheese, burger, chicken tenders, hot dog) and various toys for them to play with. And generally more deals too. Very happy about these changes! read more

We've been waiting for a great local bar/restaurant and have finally found one! Food is always excellent and I love that their menu is constantly changing. They always have the classics (burger, vegetable torta etc) but change their entrees pretty frequently. My only complaint is that the acoustics are subpar. If you're sitting next to a group in the back, you'll struggle to hear the conversation at your own table, but hopefully they'll fix that over time. read more

My partner and I came in here to celebrate some good news and wow was our vibe killed... We sat in the restaurant for 2 hours and only had 2 drinks, our server ONLY came to our table when we waved her down, this is the worst service I have had anywhere in Baltimore since moving here 6 months ago. Very unfortunate as this is the closest restaurant to my house, but I won't be back. To be fair the food was good, but the service was so so so terrible. read more

Trying a little too hard to be gourmet and hits too high of a price point for decent but not amazing results. Food was enjoyable (there for brunch). Just nothing of a "oh my God you have try this" variety. With so many other establishments in the area with similar results for $1.50 to $2.00 less an entree just sadly slightly underwhelmed. Our first night back in a restaurant was a delight. We enjoyed an outdoor table with our adult children. Food was delicious. I highly recommend the haberno deviled eggs if you are looking for a low carb option. Good crabcakes and my husband liked his rib eye. Brittany provided great service. Nice variety in the menu. I was really excited to see this place change hands after many disappointing meals at Bistro Rx. The staff went out of their way to be welcoming and friendly, which was refreshing and appreciated in this space. Unfortunately, the prices are totally out of line with the neighborhood. Think D.C. prices, or airport prices and you'll have an idea. My 20 oz. beer was $9. The food was typical bar food with an "upscale" spin at insane prices. I think a burger was like $17. There are cheaper places close by for bar food, and there are better, more interesting restaurants around at this price point. The rent at this building on the corner of the park must be crazy high, because no one can seem to make a reasonably priced, quality establishment work here. read more

So impressed by this place. I'd been several times to the location in its previous iteration and never loved it. Not much has changed with decor or layout, but my goodness has the food stepped it up. They pride themselves on a seasonal farm-to-table style menu and they really deliver. We picked a selection of small plates. The cheese plate was particularly notable for the 'extras' - various pickles, a jam, a sweet mustard, and the most delicious mushroom pate. The Gouda was so good we had it twice - having lived for ten years in the Netherlands, we were convinced this was absolutely the real deal. The Camembert and Muenster underwhelmed in comparison, but were still enjoyable. A mussel dish in fennel based broth was absolutely stellar, and had us requesting extra bread to finish up the juices. The tomato salad, with a sweet bruschetta and perfect soft burrata-esque cheese, was delightful. The vegetable torta was complex and delicious. A slight low point was the grilled peach old fashioned, where the peach flavour was lost in the alcohol and the overall vibe was more manhattan, but overall I'm totally excited for this new neighbourhood favourite. read more

And the tables were too close together! We ordered a happy hour corn dog but it was undercooked. The chicken wings was drowning in bizarre buffalo sauce and the chicken had an odd taste. Highly disappointed. Ordered the $14 burger, bun was soggy and fell apart. The burger itself was mediocre. Added the pork fat for $3 and it was literally jerky, I couldn't even eat it. So that's a $17 burger I couldn't get through.. the waitress seemed appalled when I didn't want a box to take it home. Oh, and I ordered a soda water with lemon. They charged me $2.50 for water. I asked why and if it was an individual bottle or can. The waitress then got a full on attitude with me. I said I was curious and I'd like to know why I was charged for water. She came back with her attitude and told me it was water from the hose behind the bar but I was paying for Co2.. I have never in my life heard of this! If it's a thing, I didn't realize it but I find it absurd. Charging $17 for a burger, I feel like they should be able to cover the cost of their Co2. Overall upset by my experience. I hope they make some changes in the future. read more
