I hate this place!!!!! Reason why - I get there and ask for a gel mani& a regular pedicure and they are friendly and everything so I'm like cool I like it ! Then as she is half way through my manicure I notice my French tip is messy , but I don't like to be a brat so I don't say anything and well long story short I leave the place on a sunday and go out for dinner & I see the gel on one of my nails cracking! -I'm pissed off but I'm like whatever it's just one no big deal and the next day my nails are all coming apart !! WTF!! I paid 25 dollars for a damn gel manicure for it to AT LEAST last me 1 and it didn't even last me a full day? That's BS! Never going to that place again! Not worth my gas &$ read more

I went here because they opened late whereas other salons close at 7 in southbay area. I got the gel French manicure everything seemed good and I gave a generous tip. However the next day I found that the nail polish cracked and flaked on the edges. I went to a different salon to see if they can fill the cracks and repair the flaked nails. They soaked the "gels" in acetone but then realized that it wasn't gel after all ...it was fiber glass and took forever to chip off. So not only did I pay more I also was LIED to. Just because customer cant tell the difference between fiber glass and gel doesnt mean you can lie. Shame on u. read more

I love this nail salon. It's not fancy or anything, it is rather more lowkey however I enjoy the fact that the owner, Paula, is very friendly and welcoming. Heck! They all are. They all make a huge effort to remember you by name and even small details about yourself (i.e my daughter's name and birthday) that goes a long way. It shows that they just don't see you as a dollar sign, but more as a person. You can feel the sincerity and genuity in their voice. Pricing is good, compared to these other nail salons. They do anything from manis, pedis, full sets, waxing. Pretty much anything. Plus they always have some really cool or show playing on their huge flat screen conveniently located in everyone's eye view. What more can you ask for?? Emily and Amanda do great pedicures! This place is great with nails, especially Kevin who's good with acrylic nails. The downside is the stupid lady that always picks up the phone. I hate calling them to make an appointment cause she always picks up and has attitude. I just wish someone else would pick up the phone so that my experience here would always be a 5 star read more

Had my nails done today and was pretty disappointed with the result. I did them with the guy who works there but I don't know his name. He did a very horrible job on filing them. When he added the nail polish he did a very sloppy job. I'm giving it a 2 star instead of a 1 star because the lady did a good job on my pedicure. The price is affordable, but overall I know there is better nail shops who do a great job. read more

I've come here a couple of times. Kevin does a really great job with nails and the prices are really good. I usually call ahead and make an appointment. I go in at my appointment time and he says he forgot to put me in or something like that. He tells me to go get food and come back. When I ask him how long it'll be before he can get to me he can't give me a ball park number. At the end of it I wasn't seated until an hour and 30 minutes after the appointment time. We're all human, mistakes happen. However he didn't apologize and kind of shrugged it off as 'oh well'. Since then I haven't been back. Love how they were so nice and sociable but I wouldn't go back. I didn't like the fact that everything was so rushed and sloppy when there really wasn't any other people waiting. The lady Amanda (really nice lady) cut me like twice and kept filing my skin not my nail really really harsh. After reading a bunch of reviews of the area of different shops, I called a few and most seemed to busy to even take my appointment and the one that did didnt have time for my friend to get a manicure and since we were together i passed, then i found paula's nails! I called made my appointment for 5 and actually was running about 15 min late but i called and let her know i was on my way just in traffic she was very nice over the phone and I was glad i made the call! Right when I arrived there were a lot of people in the salon but they took me back right when i got in and quickly 3 people were working on my nails and toes! My friend wanted a manicure and they got to work on him as well! The lady who did my toes and nails and waxing was very nice and did a great job! she got right to work as someone else tried to get my old set of nails off! my pedicure turned out great and was very relaxing, as I am getting my nails done I started talking to the ladies in the shop and they were all very nice and funny!!!! I am from seattle so i grew up with a lot of Vietnamese people and they were so amazing when i told them that was my fav food and I even knew some of the stuff they were talking about in Vietnamese!!! I also wanted my eye brows waxed she did them very well and only for $6!!!!!! Best deal ever! for 2 more they will do your lip as well! I am very happy with them, and i will def come back if i am in the area! the place is unclean and service is a bit rude. my lady was nice but my nails came out horrible...i actually cried when i came home. i showed her pictures of the length shape and design i wanted. she said she couldn't do it and that's when i should've listened to her and left. the price was cheap but i'm sad i spent my money here. nails came out too short, lumpy, and the polish wasn't opaque. :( read more

Came in here to get a pedicure. Though the place might look a little run down, they are very hygienic, which is more important to me than the appearance of the place. The woman working on my pedi was telling me how they have to make sure everything is up to par with the states's health codes because if not they will be heavily fined for every infraction. Apparently, they were fined in the past for minor infractions, and learned from their mistakes. They are so paranoid with getting hit with fines that they go thru great strides to ensure that everything is up to par, as the inspectors often pop in unannounced. I took note of many of their precautions, which included wrapping the foot bath with a plastic disposable liner to ensure cleanliness (super reassuring for me!) I'm so paranoid about getting some kind of funky nail fungus!! Best part was she only took about 15 minutes to do my pedi...I'm not even kidding! I was in and out in no time and my nails feet looked great! read more

This was my first time at Paula's. I only came here because I was in a hurry and my usual nail place wasn't open yet and I really wanted my nails done. When I walked in here I wasn't even greeted, I had to stare someone down to get a word from someone. I had got a full set and only Emily was available to do it. Overall this is one of the worse full sets I have ever gotten. My nails are uneven and shaped crooked and I wanted my nails medium but she cut them right at first but by time she was finished they were super short. Emily was a nice person but I just wasn't expecting this type of quality for $17... It wasn't worth it to me. I most likely won't be coming back here again, just personal preference. read more

I always go to the same place, but I decided to try this place out after work about two weeks ago, earlier this week when i went to my usual guy in Wilmington, he removed my nails and i had bacteria on them, he refused to put on nails claiming it could cause my nails to fall out. he said i can comeback in 3 weeks. This place gave my nails bacteria, their equipment isnt clean or idk what the hell they did but my nails are green, i had never encountered this problem until i came here and i always have my nails done. the nails were nice but not worth what im going through. read more
