Lovely cozy bar with great service and even better food!!! Sometimes I just order takeout because it's that good delicious and friendly

Nice lil hole in the wall place. Felt like it was more of a younger crowd but still nice place, pizza was really good.

A few weeks ago, we thought we'd give Paulie's one last try. We went for lunch on Friday. The employees were out front smoking with the bar patrons with the front door wide open. As we entered were told to seat ourselves. We sat all the way in the back dining area. We waited 15 minutes to have our drink order taken. As we waited, there was a cold breeze coming in from the open front door, with cigarette odor. YUCK! I was ready to leave, but the rest of our party wanted to eat. We ordered a large pepperoni with double pepperoni. Took 20 minutes for it to be done. Gross Pizza. Counted only 38 pepperoni. That was double?! There was hardly any sauce. It was awful compared to our previous visits. Paulie's offers a great pizza product. The problem is a total lack of consistency. Really, the place is poorly run. Paulie has a gold mine if the right person runs the daily operations, and pride is baked into their pizza. Paulie if you can offer a consistent product, then We'd be in there every week. Pizza is very, very good. Service is great. Bartenders are helpful and friendly. Most great pizza I have had has come from a small place like this, as opposed to a chain. I particularly like the beer selection. I usually go in to order my takeout just so I can see what is on tap. I highly recommend. read more

Pleasantly surprised. Food was on point and portions were plentiful. Server was pleasant and conversational which was nice for a change. At her recommendation I had the chicken parmigiana sandwich aka knuckles sandwich. Wit a side of marinara it was very good. There's a interesting vibe to the place. Definitely going back to try some other menu items. Only 1 real disappointment, I wish they had regular iced tea. In the short time I was there 2 other tables asked for regular iced tea and when the server said they only had a sweet raspberry they quickly chose another beverage. I hate raspberry, lol... That would definitely make me consider putting a regular iced tea option on the menu. The menu is small and could probably use a few more appetizers and lower priced options, but overall I would recommend giving it a try... read more

My family started going to Paulie's Pizza when they had a shop in Ontario on Euclid and we are so happy to see them open a new store. The pizza: pepperoni, onion, olive, and ham was so delicious! A great crust with a generous amount of cheese, sauce, and toppings. I love that the crust is nice and golden brown and has great flavor. We also had a large chicken parm sandwich which was gigantic and made with really yummy garlic bread but when we got the sandwich it was not hot in the middle so it was definitely not as good as the pizza. Next time I would skip the sandwich and get more pizza. The space is also very cool and has a nice bar up front. I want to go back and try the nightlife. read more

Yesterday was Not a good experience, sucks because I do enjoy paulie's pizza. The server ALEXIS was already super drunk when I arrived with my wife and brother and others. When we got there we made an order to go then when I asked for the order under the name she said there was no name placed for that order so we had to make another order. Then come to find out they did have our order in the first place we asked her to cancel the 2nd order she was throwing her hands saying yeah yeah I'll fix it with and attitude. And then she made me come inside to check the order saying "come here" with her finger being rude. Then once we finally got the order correct Me and my brother asked for 2 beers mind you she did not ask for our ID's. My wife asked for a beer and she asked her for her ID she could not find it so then other customers next to us were 2 males and asked them for what they wanted they wanted beer also! She did not ask for their ID ,saying" you been here before" so does she not Id customers that are MALES?and females have to have an ID ,my wife asked her kindly again if she can order a beer, Alexis replied you have to have you're ID. Then my wife brought it to her attention and then she made an excuse for it because we caught her on a lie. Disappointing, also I get it's a bar environment people will be drunk but for workers acting that way also taking shots and not doing their job made us not have a good experience. read more

This place used to be in Ontario a few blocks south of its current location. New place in old town upland is nice, clean and with a great feel to it. Place looks small from the street but there's tables and booths in the back with a more family restaurant feel. Perfect for dinner and game on tv night out. Pros: 1.) great tasting but limited menu to subs, salads, pizza and specialty spaghetti. 2.) 9 large tv's for sports! 3.) everything is $-$$'s, so it's easy on the wallet without feeling or tasting cheap 4.) polite courteous staff 5.) clean tables, children seats, restrooms 6.) the bar has has about 12 seats, with more seating against the wall facing the bar allowing you to see the game with out having to be in the family friendly rear of the pub. 7.) different hard ciders most places carry apple or pear. Paulie's had apple, pear and seasonal pumpkin ciders. Cons: 1.) NO Wings!!!!!!!!!! 2.) no burgers (but honestly the hot sandwiches look freaking huge and delicious!) 3.) limited menu Overall really loved this place. Great atmosphere while we were watching game 3 of the Dodgers/cubs series. Good food, great bar. Better than RD pizza, just as good as Limericks. Upon arrival, had a not very welcoming introduction by the waitress. Me and my fiance just found any open front table. Waited another 20 minutes to even get the menu and get the waitress attention, then another 20 minutes just to order, while watching the waitress attend to other groups of customers that arrived later than us. Started to get real aggravated and was about to leave until one waitress finally took our order. Long story short customer service was shit, and the food is decent, If I ever get food there I'll make sure it's to go or delivered. Worst customer service that I ever had to deal with. read more

I have my reservations going here. Not going to lie. Not all pizza places are cut out for the pie world. I went here at my lunch and they where fast for homemade pizza. It was amazing and so tasty. I have to say probably one of my favorites. My coworkers and I will definitely be coming back for more. Tuesday is first responders day 25% off for us. Even better of a reason to go! The pizza was delicious, I would I definitely go back. We drove from Silver lake to upland for this pizza and it was worth the drive. Now their shrimp and garlic bread was bomb too. We went close closing time and the staff were very nice and welcoming. There was a young man name of Thaddeus , he was very nice and attended me and my family very well, was very welcoming. We ordered it from inside the rescue brewery and picked it up ourselves cuz it was a busy time. Oh boy, this pizza blew my mind. It's not like chain pizza. We ordered a small pizza with "everything" $19. It feeds 3 small water, or 2 big eaters and came with 2 types of sausage, ham, pepperoni, pepperoncini , jalapeño, pineapple, mushroom. Came to take my dad out for his birthday, we've heard a lot of good things about this place . We seated ourselves and the waitress asked for Our drink orders and said she would be back with menus . We're sitting waiting for about 15 minutes, still no drinks or menus and it was slow as hell , what is taking so long ? So we decided to leave , but what pissed me off is the waitress tells some White guy sitting at the bar "see told ya" and he laughed, while she's talking away to the guy she could've brought us our drinks , and u wouldn't have lost out on new customers . Loved the meatball sandwich! It was INSANELY huge and the roll had a good crunch to it. There was plenty of cheese and meatballs for the $7. I'm a son of an Italian immigrant that had a pizza place for years and let me tell you: this place has good sauce and meatballs AND it's in a perfect hip location! It is really cool inside. They spent some time and money on making it feel like a pub and pizzeria. I will definitely watch some games there and grab a cold beer! Park in the back lot and walk through their back door. Okay, the EVERYTHING Pizza is easily one of the TOP 5 Best Pizza's in the Inland Empire right now! I have tried the Meat Lovers and it's a great pizza as well, but the EVERYTHING is a signature pizza and a must try for those that want a different experience other than just your typical pizza! Kids are probably going to want to pass on this one and if you're a picky eater or don't like a bit of spicy, than yeah this won't be for you. If this lockdown has provided anything it's to expand the map of where we would usually get food from, easily Paulie's became a favorite around my house so definitely worth trying if you're in the mood to give a pizza joint that you might not go to or of even known about a try! read more

Terrible experience here. Food is basic, you sorta get what you pay for, because it's cheap americanized Italian food. Decent prices for their drinks. But the place and some of people in there are trash. There was a group in the back of the place, one guy in particular was obviously drunk and belligerent, cursing and loudly yelling "WOOO HAAAA" over and over, looking around the room getting up and staring at guys trying to intimidate and get a reaction out of them. The man I was with is black and when the guy started saying nigg*r this and nigg*er that I had to stop him from confronting the guy. I got up and told him please just come to the front room it's not worth it. We moved to the front room and when the waitress brought our food she asked if we moved because of that back table, so we told her what the guy was saying and that he was using the N-word and she just kind of smirked and said "yeah sorry about that." The right response would have been to ask the drunk person to leave, but I guess that type of behavior is acceptable and probably the norm here. Today was one of the craziest days I have ever experienced in my entire life, it was like a stairway to hell, everything going bad wherever it could and then some ... at this point in the day I was on the verge of tears, somewhere in the middle of upland, (unsure of where the hell that even was). The sun had just set as I impatiently waited for the train that went to union station . I totally felt the fear inside my inner Dorothy and her wizard of oz, as I reached for my phone to call an Uber , I realize my phone is now completely dead with absolutely zero battery- I couldn't even see where The hell I was on the stupid map, and walked aimlessly im hopes of finding an i iPhone charger to the rescue. I noticed Paulies and went inside to ask if i could use their restroom and charge my phone at least enough to where I could call myself a ride. From the moment I walked in to Paulies, both Darrin & Destiny were so kind and comforting. They totally made me feel like I was at home, even if i was far from it! They we went above amd beyond to make sure I was taken care of and comfortable and I just wanted to say thank you. We need more Darrins and Destiny's in this world! read more

I have been coming to Paulie's since 2016, the drinks are relatively inexpensive & I can choose to bring my kids or have an adult night and it's always a great time. I like the fact that you can choose and play music there and it helps that all the food is delicious and the vibes have always been pleasant and fun. When I have time, I used to go about 3 times a week or at least on major holidays and events. However the last few times I've been there, I've felt extremely uncomfortable. I thought maybe the bar tender was having a bad day but it's come to my attention that Emily is just rude to everyone she's not familiar with. I know most of the servers by name or at least by appearance and I don't ever expect them to remember me or anything like that because they obviously serve MANY people all day and every day but to at least be respectful should be the minimum. Emily makes me feel like she purposely ignores me even when the bar is empty. My friend usually has to order my drink for me because she will make it a point to ignore me. I used to think it was just me but I notice she does it to a lot of people, everyone knows her as the mean bar tender with straight black hair. I was scared to write a review because I know some of her co workers know me on a personal level but honestly she's messed with my self esteem and my confidence about going to paulies. It's very possible shes not aware of what she's doing but in case she reads this, I hope you realize that you can be really mean and intimidating and it sucks because I genuinely feel like there's something wrong with my appearance for someone as pretty and friendly as you to treat me like I'm bothering you for wanting to order a drink. I decided to write this in hopes that she changes her attitude and so hopefully someone else doesn't end up feeling the way I do. I went in late friday night when many locals were there hanging out and the place was super busy. However, I received a warm welcome and received great service.
