A fun, generally no frills bar. Yet, there's still a sense of character and charm. You can tell this is a local watering hole for a lot of people. I'm not sure how, but I could just tell there were lots of regulars in there when I made a quick stop to meet up with some friends. Drinks were tasty. Not exceptionally strong, but I didn't feel like I was being cheated. I also appreciated that we could bring in our own food. We enjoyed some local sandwiches out on the patio and just had a wonderful time. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in North Hollywood. NoBar, is a Yes Bar for me! One of my favorite bars back in college. We used to pop into this place often. Especially after class from 2011 to 2013, and definitely after then until about 2019 on and off. It's still got the same vibe, but better, more updated - very cheers meets casual classy upgraded dive. The bar area is pretty wide open like a remember, cool digital jukebox to the right along with the restrooms when you walk all the way in as well as a room for billiards/pool and lounge for well lounging and a nice patio area with tons of seating and I believe some string lights, candles on tables, water dispenser and a mostly covered space. I didn't know the happy hour was sooo good here... I had three peanut butter whiskey (Bird Dog) and cokes for $16 which would've been less with cash versus a card - they offer discounts for cash! Fun Fact: You can download the AMI Music app to purchase credits/play songs via their jukebox - I turned on Cannons "Fire For You" to keep the good vibes strong while catching part of the game and enjoying the company of my friend Andrew. Michelle (pretty sure I'm right this time) was our bartender for the night and she was super cool, very mellow, amazing drinks and service rocking the coolest Matcha colored sweatshirt with the word Matcha on it. She's definitely got her regulars and she knows them well. They open at 5PM, but might keep the door locked for a little bit if super slow. You can always wave from the windows or knock. Usually if they see you coming they'll unlock for the rest of the night. Parking is street only however being off Magnolia a beat down from the Chandler Bike Path and a realistic walking distance from North Hollywood Station you have some good alternatives, including easy rideshare drop off or pick up. Adorable bar that I'm very glad the OCA SFV Quintin introduced me to! Loved the music, loved the ambiance and it felt like a come one, come all type of situation. There were some big groups, a bunch of two-somes, a bunch of solo drinkers - pretty much every situation fit in here. Also a big back patio that was covered, belly up at the bar seats, high top tables and even seats along the window for some people watching. Mostly what you watch is people walk past the entrance accidently though - it's a very discrete door, lol. Great staff, great vibes, great drinks - what more could you want in a watering hole? They had the place decorated super cute when we popped in for the holidays. Lights everywhere and ya girl is a sucker for a twinkle! It's a very down to earth bar with a cool classy dive vibe. They had some special seasonal spiked whiskey for purchase, but also decent craft beers on tap. Overall, I would call this an elevated dive bar with good music and good vibes. They have the best happy hour specials in Noho. Nice patio , great bartenders and awesome vibes! Shady ass place I went here on 2/28. Blonde bartender with wavy/curly hair and looked in her 40's helped us probably around 10:30-11pm. Bought 3 drinks for me and two friends and put it on my card was handed just my card back and waited for the receipt. No receipted was given and bar tender went to help other people ignoring us. I had every intention on tipping on my receipt but wasn't given one and I decided I wasn't going to wait around any longer than I already did. I had no cash on me. I noticed a pending charge of $36.22. Two days later a charge went through for $43.02 Telling me that the bartender filled out the receipt and tipped herself $6.80. First off that's fucking shady and illegal it's called fraud. Secondly I had every intention of tipping but wasn't given the choice too. I wouldn't recommend this shady establishment to anyone and I've reported the unauthorized charge of $6.80 to my card company. read more

First time going there with my friends, sit at the bar and after waiting a couple minutes the bartender by the name of Scott comes and throws the coasters at us with an attitude. We ask what kind of tequila do you have? He says "look for yourself !" Walks away, comes back makes a comment , we order our drinks and my friend asks "what's up with bitter attitude?" What a great place! The manager Paul is a great guy! I threw a surprise party here for my moms 60th and they went above and beyond to accommodate me! We reserved the lounge in the back and they let us bring in food and decorations and we had an absolutely great time. This place is a hidden gem in NoHo. Although it lists it as a "dive bar" it definitely doesn't feel and look like one inside. The beer prices are amazing and they have a jukebox to play songs along with a lounge area. This is a great place to hang out without worrying of trying to be "too trendy "like some of the bars down the street. I strongly and highly recommend them. Often times, there is an amazing taco truck across the street which have $1.50 tacos and no kidding, it is the best El Pastor Tacos I've ever had- get at least 4 otherwise you will regret it. I remember back in the day when this bar first opened up. It was a cool little place that was filled with the local crowd who happened to stumble in accidentally. It can be hard to notice if you are not really looking for it. The bar is unassuming, basic and plain from the outside. The inside however has lots of low tables and pods to sit on. The bar itself is on the smaller side, but seats quite a few patrons. There are two small rooms in the back, one for lounging with the same low tables and whatnot, and the other has a pool table. It is rare to see a pool table in bars here in LA, especially when you are intentionally looking for one. It is more rare to actually get a spot on the table, and it can be difficult to play your friends you came with. That is , unless you win and get to play over and over and with everyone. I am, however, not good at pool at all. So needless to say I did not end up getting to play my friends, but rather watched them play two sharks that wiped the floor with all of us. The drinks are decent, not right on measured pours but free handed pours. Not generous but not stingy either. My curiosities were sparked when I noticed a specialty drink menu on the bar that I had never seen or noticed before. I was instantly drawn to the hot and dirty. A vodka martini with olive juice and hot sauce..... hold the phone, did I just say hot sauce? Yup I did. It was interesting to say the least, sparking the interest of the group of friends I came in with. Everyone wanted to try it at first until they saw the face of the first taster. Hence, I got to finish my drink without further requests for sips. The alcohol was all mine. The hot and Dirty is a drink you don't mess around with, either you love it or hate it, there seems to be no in between. I loved it, despite the hot flash it sent through my body, not exactly what you want on a hot summer evening. The atmosphere is intended for lounging with your friends and sipping on a cocktail, while the jukebox plays some classically great tunes. A good jukebox that has at least one song for everyone on it is hard to come by, but NoBar has succeeded. So much so that Carson Daily has made this spot one of his local haunts. Due to this fact, Friday and Saturday nights can be a tight squeeze for a few people let alone a large group. So Get there early, relax and listen to some tunes. This place is a MIXED bag 4-sure. I've been multiple times and had different experiences... so naturally I average them out and this is what I came up with. 3 stars.... and you are lucky I round up! 1st time I went, we had an amazing bartender that really hooked up the drinks and knew how to bartend shall I say. His drinks were "well" made, and I could tell there was alcohol them. He even helped suggesting a round of shooters he thought we might like.... GOING THE EXTRA MILE. 2nd time I went, we got there right as happy hour was ending and she acted like she was doing us a favor when WE CLEARLY made it before the cut off. Anyway it gets better... her drinks were noticeably WEAK, I'm talking way too much juice or sweet and sour... can you say HANGOVER?? Hangover! FYI I am light weight, and usually don't mind weaker drinks... but if I am saying they were too weak, what do you think that means?! DOT DOT DOT 3rd time they wouldn't make a shooters for us with more than 1 alcohol and 1 mix in it for happy hour, WHEN THIS WAS NO issue previously. can you say ANNOYED?? I mean come on it's all well alcohol anyway. As you can begin to see the experience really depends on the bartender you get. The place has a pool table which is fun, and a Jukebox that you can pick music from your phone and be anonymous if you so choose. There's also this dark room in the back for more intimate hangs and talking. Also beware the security/bouncer guy keeps a really close eye on things inside for someone supposedly watching the outside. TIP: Only ask for a splash of whatever mix you want in your drink or it will come out to sweet. (You can always add more splash more later) read more

No Bar may be the lounge-y, prissy-ier bigger sister of Bar One located on Burbank Blvd also in North Hollywood. No Bar is older, wearing red lipstick, already dating, and heading out to a concert while Bar One is the little sister staring into the bedroom, looking in admiration at its big sis. Yet, Bar One doesn't want to be No Bar... it's happy being the dive bar while No Bar is a bit classier but still with a dive-y feel. (For the record, I like Bar One better and gave it 5 stars but they are VERY similar). No Bar is certainly a lounge with a big, rough doorman and a spacious layout with couches, cushions, VERY dim lighting, a juke box, a separate room with the pool table, and another room literally filled with couches and seating arrangement for lounging. No Bar is the perfect place to meet friends versus just get a drink with a date (although that is good here too). Beers are $5 and the cocktails are strong. I got a Whiskey Sour which isn't hard to mess up, but it was exceptional at No Bar. Not to mention, the bartender was very charming. CON: there were only 2 beers are tap: Firestone and one other. What is that about!? Cute place with a casual feel and a very artsy and diverse crowd. I felt very much at home and very comfortable. So, don' t neglect either sister. No Bar for the classier version and Bar One for the dive. Or just visit both in one night. Either way, there are two great "sisters" in NoHo. read more

Me and my boyfriend love Nobar! We've quickly become regulars; Paul and all of the staff are such sweet people. They make everyone feel safe and secure, the drinks are tasty and strong and you can also drink here if you have a little extra money or if your tight or in between!
