All I can say is WOW. I've been going here on and off for a few years, even had a yearly membership that I canceled because I didn't use it enough to warrant the monthly payment. However today WILL BE THE LAST TIME I EVER GO!!! Let me preface this next statement by saying I deal with the public on a daily basis and was mentored in my Career by some of the best if not the best...They said "drive your career by this one simple fact." "IF YOU DON'T TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMER I GUARANTEE YOU SOMEONE ELSE WILL." Today I went there again and again the credit card machine was messing up. I even tried putting in 20 dollars in cash and it kept spitting the 20 dollar bill back out to me. I tried three cards until finally I used my bank card which it accepted. I used two of those cards earlier throughout the day and they worked just fine. I don't like using my bank card unless I have to go to an ATM because piracy is rampant, but finally a card worked. However before that while the line was backing up behind me I saw an outside attendant and didn't yell across the two lines at him I simply waved / motioned for him to come over because "A" I couldn't back up and leave because cars were behind me and "B" he's the only person that could figure out what was going on. He yelled to me and I QUOTE "YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT YOU'RE TURN, I'M WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER, not I'll be right there, is there something wrong be right with you, one moment Sir.........Rude as rude can be was what I got. All I kept thinking was I can't go anywhere until this damn machine accepts one of my valid cards and let's be clear here. there was no-one next to me when I pulled up and started having issues with the machine. After about 5 minutes there was (and people behind me). Where was Mr. Rude when I was having the problems? Crappy customer service. There's plenty of car washes within five minutes of me. After years of going here I'm done. I'll spend my money somewhere else where I don't get someone yelling at me like I'm the problem. DON'T GO HERE IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO BE TAKEN CARE OF BECAUSE AT SOME POINT YOU WILL BE SEVERELY LET DOWN. read more

By far the worst car wash I've ever been to. After having a tire changed across the street at Goodyear, thought I'd get a wash on a overcast rainy day. All I wanted was to get a little dirt off my jeep that I wash 8-10 times a month. I asked for a basic $4.00 wash knowing it was going to rain later that day. They didn't spay down my car and sent me down the track. No pre soak, only soap and straight to the rollers. I didn't see water hit my car until 10 seconds before the blowers came on. Management was completely rude to me After complaining about my horrible experience at their car wash telling me I get what I paid for. Thanks a lot Dave! So they have an automated screen you can't see in the sun along with buttons that are not labeled properly. Wanted a deluxe was but got the basic because their equipment isn't set up right. When I mentioned it to the help they couldn't care less, it was somehow my fault the screen was unreadable in direct sun and the deluxe was button is actually the basic. Don't go here. read more

I've been a big fan of Paul's for years now and have never had a bad experience there. My boss recently gave me a booklet of free washes for Jax car wash so I decided to give them a try. They succeeded in proving the Paul's is a superior business. At Paul's, you'll always be greeted with a smile, the facility is clean as will be your car. Unfortunately I have to agree with other recent reviews. I used to drive from 14 and Woodward to patronize this establishment. I now use Jax at Southfield and 13. Free vacuums, people to dry for you(please tip them) and it's only $7 for a basic wash. They also have a monthly program $30(?) for as many washes as you care to go for. Paul's needs to listen to there customers and get themselves together. read more

Its hard to find a decent car wash around here as everyone has eliminated as many employees as possible. Bought a basic wash and paid extra for tire shine. Completely unhappy. Service has gone from great to mediocre to the point of me feeling i wasted my money... next time ill just buy a bottle of tire shine and put it on myself. read more

It did an OK job on cleaning my car, but, frankly I was confused by the the pay machine. I thought I pressed to button for a basic car wash for $6, but apparently, I guess, I hit the $15 'fire and ice' button. When I called to complain, the manager said that $15 was their fire and ice package, what ever that is, and then promptly hung up. Paul, if he's still the owner, is in for rude surprise when his business takes a sharp downturn! read more

I don't know what happened to this car wash but it has gone completely downhill. Clean and shiny equipment but it doesn't get your car clean at all. General manager Dave isn't helpful and couldn't care less if a customer was pleased. He did run my car through a second time (free of charge) but not without a scolding and asking me "why didn't you take your car to JAX car wash." Next time, I will. read more

Passed through town and figured I should gift my car with a wash. Not really much to argue about here, my car was much cleaner than when it went in. It was a quick and easy service. First of all, don't get the $4 wash. Get the $6 and it'll be worth it. It has the most powerful underbody wash I've ever had. The scrubbers are aggressive. The scrubbers are made of cloth and perhaps polymer. There are about 3 pairs of brushes and an overhead brush, and very good and powerful underbody jets. There are also low brushes which get the wheels and below the belt line. Just a very thorough set of brushes. In a word, it gets the car and especially the wheels clean. I'm very impressed how clean it gets my complex-design wheels. read more

Use to be my favorite wash close to me Dave the manager is always friendly and I liked getting the car wiped off by hand. Now the new system leaves a lot of water on the windows/mirrors. I pay $7 and still have to wipe windows mirrors and tailgate off by hand. read more

Been going to Paul's for a number of years. They were one of the few car washes in the area which could fully clean the back of an SUV/Hatchback/Minivan. Since the renovation, the equipment doesn't do nearly a good job as it used to. Especially not justifiable with the price increases. And no more hand towel drying? My car is just as wet coming out of the car wash than in a rainstorm. While they do an okay job, there is a lot of room for improvement. read more

After my visit to the car wash today, I feel compelled to express my compliments for the great service I received. Paul's is close to my house, so it's where I usually get my car washed. Today, my car was particularly dirty with spots on the hood from some type of tree berries falling on it. The young man who pre-washed my car made sure all the berry spots were gone before sending us through the tunnel. I was very impressed by his meticulousness! I only bought the $6.00 was, but my car came out looking like a million bucks! read more

Just spent $7 on a "wash" at Pauls. They spent roughly 3 seconds spraying ice around wheel wells. Basically just waved at it. I've had better washes at a $5 do it yourself. Very unsatisfied, never again. Go elsewhere. read more

Been going to this place for over two years with two vehicles. I've never had an embarrassing moment or had bad customer service as what happened today. For the past several weeks before Covid quarantine and returning back my sensor sticker on the window has not been working for several weeks every time I go there I asked for a replacement. They say there's nothing wrong with the sticker. Every time I go through the Fast quick drive-through it takes me 10x or more attempts to get through. Finally lost my patience with one of the guys. So I pull in and I said ok I need a replacement; they said $3. I get my wash; they don't spray me down like usual. All 4 guys there didn't want to follow through. I pull around and I Finally hand the guy five bucks and I expected change back but the instead tosses the five dollars to the ground. read more

Too bad there isn't an option for zero stars. So disappointing, I used to love Paul's. Went in for a quick wash the other day and the machines pulled my rear wiper off completely. Ok so that happens I guess? I went to talk to the employee who handed me back the wiper missing a part. He said to come back the next day and maybe they would have found it. I went back the following day and talked to a manager who handed me the part and then just gave me a blank stare. I asked for a damage report and he told me that he needed to make sure the wiper was on the car to begin with!! Like I tossed it out the window in the middle of the wash?? He treated me like I was trying to pull something, not like a customer who's property had been damaged by his machine. Complete jerk. Anyway, my husband was able to reattach the wiper and I will never ever go back to Paul's. read more

Note to any owners of a car wash- do NOT "upgrade" to machines that dry cars in lieu of people like Paul's has. I used to come here all the time but had to stop because you leave here with a wet car that leaves streaks all over that are especially noticeable if you have a dark car. This used to be the best car wash until they put in the new system. I've gotten about 5 washes there with three cars each since they remodeled, hoping it'll improve... no such luck. The $10 deluxe does not leave your car clean and water spots everywhere. The $15 wash misses the same spots still leaving you with water spots. I feel bad leaving two stars but it's frustrating paying that much for a wash and not getting a complete job. read more

This place sucks. I live across the street. Tried the top-dollar "unlimited" pass, which gets you one wash per day. The car wash system doesn't work well- despite just being upgraded. It often leaves my car with road film on the side of it and always leaves it spotted. They don't towel dry. Tire shine costs extra at every wash. My car was noticeably more scratched and stripped of wax after two months of washing every other day. Jax is better. I would rather spend 5 dollars more for their pass and drive 3 extra miles. read more

Got my truck washed there in December and it looked great so I bought my wife a VIP card for Christmas...1st time she had her Audi washed there part of the front grill blew off the car....never happened at other car washes...$160 repair at Audi dealership and Paul's would not accept any responsibility...not even a free car wash...last money I will spend there! read more

This car wash was my go to for 10+ years. I thought they were the best. Last visit was bad and worse. Bad because they were lame with the prewash wands, resulting in my car still having bird spots after the wash. Worse because when I came back I got an immediate argument and was waved off after I said they were going to lose me as a customer. I'm going to have to find another car wash. read more

Today around 9:30 am, I pulled in to Paul's Troy location to get a wash. I have been using this location for over 20 years, before it was even a Paul's. They have a new automatic payment console and the car ahead of me was taking a long time, then I noticed they were trying to feed bills into the machine but it wasn't taking them. Several cars pulled up in line behind. The person finally began honking their horn for assistance, but no one came. They could not open their door or back up. So, I got out and went to the office door but saw no one through the glass. It did not say not to enter (regular welcoming business door) so I went in and saw no one. I opened the door to the wash area and tried to get a man's attention. He immediately starting screaming at me "Get out of my office! Get out of my office!" with great anger. I pointed outside and started to tell him of the problem and he advance towards me very threatening and said "I don't care! Get out of my office! Get out of my office!" This man was crazy. I left and went back to my car. Even better, a lady pulled in and parked. She came across the parking lot, glanced at the honking car, me and the line building up and just went inside. She shortly came out and left. The man came out after a long time and finally helped the person in the car with their problem. He looked at me then and again in the wash. He was very hostile and never apologized to me for his behavior when I was only trying to help their business. Sadly, after all these years I will never go here again and will not give people like this my business or money. read more

I've been a long-time customer of both Paul's and Jax car wash. I usually use Paul's for daily cleaning and Jax for a more detailed cleaning. However, after my recent experience with Paul's car wash, I will never go back. The "cleaning" is now subpar - the flashy colors and lights are only temporary; twenty seconds later you are left with a wash that is something I expect from the local $2 car wash. Further, when inquiring about a sticker with a staff member, he was incredibly unprofessional and rude. When I brought this to the attention of its' General manager Dave, although he listened to my concerns, there was no offer of rectifying the situation, only informing me that I can drive to the carwash to cancel my monthly membership(s). This is very good option for an automatic car wash. They aren't expensive (about $5 plus tips) for an exterior wash. The staff are friendly. They are quick and efficient. I didn't have an interior detailing or anything like that done so I can't speak their abilities in that respect. They got the salt snow gunk off my wheel wells which is my pet peeve. read more

I was there last Saturday and my car got pushed into the SUV in front of me as my car was nearing the end of the conveyor. I spoke to the manager, he took my info and took some pics of my bumper saying he will review the tapes to verify my account of what happened. He said he will contact me soon but also said that Michigan is a no-fault state and that Paul's is not responsible (???? No-Fault - I was not driving the car and it was in Paul's control). A nearby Body Shop quoted me $360 for the repair. Since I received no call from them I went back today (Tuesday) , the guy there said the manager will call but he would not give me his phone number (he's too busy) and would not tell me when the manager would be at the wash next. Been a fan for years until they messed a truck up, said it wasn't their fault, but I learn they were waiting on a part to a brush that messed the paint up and gouged the truck. Manager Dave is the rudest person, says the one camera wasn't working that day...coincidence? Called corporate office to only get nowhere. I always refer people here as a regular...not anymore. Cost $375 in repairs to only get offered free wash coupons. No thanks, don't even feel safe going through the wash. read more

Awesome every time. One of the best drive thru car washes around. The staff is very pleasant and they do a good job drying off your car.

After my first wash the front and rear of my car were still pretty dirty. I went back the following day for my 48-hour guarantee wash, and there was still a lot of soap residue left on my mirrors and windshield. I think the people wiping down cars at the end are just using the same towels for too long or something, or they feed in too many cars so they have to rush through the drying, which is fairly important for a good wash. This place did get pretty good reviews though, so maybe I had an uncommon experience, and my car does have some weird angles that are hard to clean well, but I've definitely had better washes elsewhere. read more

Been a loyal Paul's customer for over 10 years and always happy with wash job. A few areas for improvement: 1. The auto attendant typically does not work and when it does, it double charges the prepaid discount card they offer. Highly suggest the attendant only. 2. If they offer the time shine or other services at the end of line, I do not suggest them if they are busy. The towel driers are head to the next car behind you and yours is headed out the door. Only option is double back, park and then flag down an attendant. Not a great option if you're in a hurry. This recently happened with their tire shine promo; out the 2 dollars. read more

I don't go there anymore. They put in new equipment which doesn't wash vehicles as well in my opinion. Plus they got rid of the attendants who used to towel dry the cars at the end of the line. And they raised their prices too. They took their customers for granted I think. Last time I went there, there were hardly any cars in line. The place used to be packed. read more
