WOW....what a transformation! We put in a pool in spring/early summer 2021. After the pool was complete, our pool deck definitely needed some 'help'. We contracted with a highly rated local contractor here in the Coachella Valley to resurface the deck so it would look decorative, be non-slip and stay cool on our feet in the summer heat. We had a pool deck that was small pebbles that were held down with liquid nails. The pebbles would come up when you stepped on them, it was awful. The only one who liked it was Bradley, our dog. He loved to snack on the pebbles. My wife found Pavescapes in a mail flyer. They are based on Orange County but I think they have an office in Oxnard. We called and Albert came out and gave us an estimate. We agreed and they came out and did a wonderful job. The crew was friendly and they worked super clean. They left no trash at all, in the yard. Great idea and product but very poor customer service and operations. The first time we worked with the sales rep he did not physically measure the area and gave us an arial estimate and told us to let him know when we were ready to move forward. Of course that should have been the first red flag. Then he said he would come by over the weekend and measure if we were ready to move forward. I told him I would compare it to the other estimates but could not commit to signing that day so he chose not to come by. I told their office this was uncomfortable - he finally came out the following week and we seemed to agree on a number. He promised a 10 year warranty and cleaning of the pool when complete. Fast forward to the "proposal"...there was no counter signature, nothing about a warranty or pool cleaning. i asked for this in writing as well as next steps so I could have some documentation, and they emailed me and said this job was not a good fit. This was a blessing in disguise because I was starting to think the same. What company does not put their warranty and specifics in a contract? What company balks at sending an invoice (they texted me to mail in a check for $10,000.00 with no invoice or contract specifics) Oh, they also wanted a 30% deposit ahead of doing any work - when I asked them why it was not 10% or $1000 per California law, they said they can ask for up to 50% because its a custom order. Maybe that is true, but it sounds fishy to me. Be careful if you go with this company - nice looking product, but shady customer service / operations read more

We just had our backyard done by PaveScapes and I want to commend them publicly for doing an outstanding job. I selected sandstone to cover old cement that was discolored and they covered it so that it looks like we always had brick and there is no sign of the old cement - even on the sides. They expertly laid each sandstone and all bricks were perfect - no cracks or discolored bricks were used. I recently remodeled my front yard and it turned out beautifully, yet something was missing. My driveway and walkway to the front door looked drab, old and tired. I absolutely dislike writing bad reviews, but customer service is very important to me. My driveway is in dire need of repair, so I called PaveScapes a few months ago to ask if someone could come over to my house and give me an estimate to repair it. No one called. So, earlier this week I called again hoping someone would respond to my request. Five days have gone by, still no one has called to schedule an appointment. I have since called their office and canceled my request. Moving on, hopefully another contractor will want my business! read more

First off, If I could give this owner 0 stars, I would! I just finished a meeting with the owner, Eddie and have never been treated so rudely and unprofessionally in my entire life! I am an apartment manager and am looking into the pavers system for our pool deck. We are in the discovery phase, so to speak, so i have about 6 different bids ranging in price from $19k to $50K.. I had this postcard from the AAOC Tradeshow last year (2015) and figured that this company would be another option for me. I called well in advance and scheduled an appointment at my office on site. When Eddie arrived on my property he called the office and told us that he was here in a white Prius and that we needed to come meet him. I called him back and told him he just needed to walk to the Rental Office. Once he got in my office, we exchanged business cards and I directed him to the pool area and left him to do what he needed to do. He finished and told me he would go to his car and prepare his bid. No problem. He came back in with all his wares and started explaining his proposal. "When can we schedule this?" I told him that I was still collecting bids and that his bid was right in the middle and I was acting on behalf of the owner. He asked if he could contact me again in about a week. I told him no I would contact him in about a month. He asked if email would be good and i said that would be perfect and that my email address was on my business card. I then told him that our company worked off the purchase order system and would that be a problem. He asked "What do that mean?" I told him that meant we pay in full once the job is completed. He told me: "No, you are just going to have to finance this. I wish I had know this before I came out. You have wasted my time." I immediately rose from behind my desk and asked "May I be perfectly blunt with you?" His answer was "No, you may not". I told him that this was MY office and that I had never been spoken to so rudely and unprofessionally in my entire life. I also told him I would be contacting the AAOC and also my friends in the apartment industry. Really???? Seriously????? If you are the owner of a company and this is how you speak to prospective clients, it's a wonder you have any work! You have disrespected me in front of my staff, treated me rudely and very unprofessionally. I will not do any business with PaveScapes or Eddie EVER! As a footnote, Eddie did call me and apologized and once I told him I was posting to yelp, he asked if there was any he could do to make me not post, I told him no. I have a very large circular driveway that was very cracked up and looked horrible. I put off doing anything about it because of the cost. I got a quote for a regular concrete driveway and regular pavers both in the range of $40,000-$50,000. I called Pavescape from an ad and was leery of the procedure but decided to give them a call. Their quote was half the price and I have to say it came out beautiful. Also, less concrete to fill the landfills. The workers were very professional and super hard workers. They also added some concrete to make my driveway slightly even bigger to make one more parking place and I'm super happy about that also. Time will tell how it holds up but for now I'm happy with the results of how it looks and the savings. I now have the budget to re-landscape my front yard also. Wow, and wow again! After 45 years of a broken down concrete driveway and back yard patio the change is very Mary Poppins like, practically perfect in every way. PaveScapes was true to their promise of a job well done with quality materials. No problems, and done on the time schedule agreed to. Albert, the work site foreman, was pleasant and easy to discuss all aspects of the work as it was being done. He was there every day with a friendly ear and very happy to share the progress details. It could not have been completed better. I now have neighbors walking up and telling me how nice it looks. Jim came to our home in San Clemente, 13 months ago to give us a bid on pavers to cover our rear concrete patio. He showed us some samples, and we immediately decided on Noche Travertine, with bull nosed edges. Jim then measured, and later came back with a price of $8500. We hesitated several days, then he lowered to $8000. We put him off. Jim kept in contact several times over the next 12 months into Oct. of 2016, (i saved all of his text messages). He kept asking if we were ready to start. Well, one of the times he responded in Oct of 2016, we were ready to begin. He came back out and measured same rear patio again, stating he could not find his original notes, but he remembered we wanted Noche Travertine and bull nosed edges. Jim then left, without picking up our deposit check. I later that day got a text from Jim, wanting $15,365 for the same job, he qouted us originally for $8500, then dropped it to $8000. I called the owner. The owner gave a song and dance how that earlier offer could not be honored, as it was several months, in fact 13 months old. He did not even give mea chance to point out that "Jim", had kept initiating contact with us to close the very same deal, up to and including Oct of 2016, via text. The owner only defended Jim as a "nice guy". I would agree, however it seems Jim pulled the old "bait and switch", offering us regular pavers instead of travertine. The regular pavers were NEVERan option, never asked for, never wanted. It was always the Travertine pavers. I do agree from the photos Jim showed us of Pavescapes prior jobs, the workers appear to do quality work, from the photos. I would urge anyone thinking about Pavescapes and using Jim as salesman, to get everything in writing, not via text messaging and keep your copy in a safe place. I know prices for labor and possibly the materials have gone up slightly, but not DOUBLE THE PRICE for the same job. We are using a different company for our travertine pavers and paying thousands less. PLEASE SHOP AROUND ! There are well over a twenty paver companies in the area all clammering for your business. Beware of "bait and switch" ploy by Jim at Pavescapes. read more
