I actually like shopping here but...This is probably the weirdest thing that has happened to me ever, but this is actually the 4th time that happens to me so now I'm 100%sure that there's something in this place that causes this. So the first time I thought I had just a long day but I started feeling dizzy, I felt I was going to faint, I started sweating a lot, my heart beat was fast and my legs and hands were shaking. I struggled when at the self-register, but finally went to my car and got some air and it took me about an hour to recover. A couple weeks later I went back and the same happened to me. The third time I started associating the condition with the place. But finally today that I went again I'm completely sure that every time I shop in this store those weird symptoms happen to me. I'm so curious to find out what's the reason behind it. And curious to know if somebody has experienced the same thing. I'm a healthy 31 year old male, have never suffered of any condition, I rarely get sick and my lifestyle is as healthy as it gets. Very small, with a very limited stock. The help is aggressively unhelpful. Parking is good but the lines move slowly...and not the store's fault, but they have some world class ****** shopping here. Went to deli to get couple of sandwiches. Got Italian and All meat on sourdough roll. Both were some of best sandwiches I ever had. Great job and from the line there it appears others know also. Never knew how good until a few months ago. Wasting my money on Sub..y, and J...y Mikes.... read more

This place is quite pricy, they have a lot of expired yogurts in the fridge, and the lines are frequently long with very little cashiers tending the lines... It's unfortunate since I live down the street. I prefer making the extra drive to Ralph's on Beverly and Doheny. read more

I've tried to keep my mouth shut about this particular location, but it's just not good. I live in Beverly Hills, so I go to this location when it's convenient as opposed to the more desirable location in West Hollywood. It's a smaller store, so as is the selection. Not a big deal. However, the staff - or lack there of, does not act with any sort of urgency at peak times when they're short on help and/or it's busy. I've never had too many problems with check out which I can appreciate, but they do have two express lanes that are always open and never more than one full-service register. More than once now, I have been asked to switch lines as I get to the front of the express lane as I have too many items which is just a few over the limit and wouldn't have chosen the lane had there been other options. To add insult to injury, there was no one behind me either time, so no one probably would've noticed if they scanned my extra five canned goods. Lastly, the store is hard to navigate purely by obstruction of "shippers" and displays of product put in the middle of aisles where only one person can pass at a time - and barely that! I'm a young man who has worked in the grocery business for over 15 years and I do my best not to nitpick given I know most of the ins and outs, but if you're going to be a store in Beverly Hills you should really bring your best! An extra comment: the parking lot is always too full, but luckily they have parking on the roof. But, if you're someone that doesn't use the express lanes, you'll find yourself pushing your cart up the ramp where cars are to drive to get your groceries to that second level. Think about the customers from time to time since you're in the business of retail! This store needs some good help. read more

This store is the worst if you are trying to quickly get in and out with just a few items. They rarely have more than 2 cashiers during peak times (weekday afternoon/eves and weekend days). The cashiers usually are too busy talking or shouting at each other about their personal lives to give a rat's a** about you or your groceries. They don't even smile at you. Let's not even talk about the baggers who DO want to engage in a long conversation while throwing your groceries in a bag and not caring that they just threw canned goods on top of your carton of eggs!! I've also had issues with food being expired and on the shelves. Lastly, they clearly had some issues with selling alcohol to minors because they now can't sell alcohol at this location. They really need to fire their front operations and get a new manager too! Don't go unless you need something desperately...drive another mile and go to Ralph's on Olympic! read more

I did not care for the store or the staff at this Pavilions at all. Required specific items for a medical dietary concern. Had questions about location and product availability. Staff could not have cared less and showed no interest in helping. I think I could have done better elsewhere. read more

While the prices are high, and the produce not great, I stop by at Pavilions because it is literally a block from my house and has easy parking. I resisted writing a bad review about the obscene lines -- I cannot remember one time in the last several months where there has not been a long line at checkout, usually because only 1 stand was open -- but I'm finally giving in. When I was there at 7:15am, before dropping my kids off at school and going to work, and the line was 5 people long, with lots of workers milling around and nobody to open another check stand, I finally had to leave my stuff and go. Too bad that a place that has so much potential going for it blows it like this. read more

Like others have said, this feels like a big 7-11, and a fairly dingy one at that. (I'm not quite sure what's up with markets in Beverly Hills -- the Whole Foods also feels like you're shopping in a basement.) Anyway, the Pavilions' usefulness as a nearby resource for pantry basics is negated by consistently understaffed checkout lanes. Just trying to pay and leave can take an agonizing amount of time. It's better than nothing when you need something in a pinch, but not by much. read more

I could not agree with Naomi's comment more. This is the worst Vons/Pavilions store I've ever been to, speaking as a Vons fan all these years til now. The store is rather small, supporting less mainstream products than other Vons, not to mention their prices are normally higher than regular Vons store. The biggest disappointment I have is that the customer service is ridiculously unacceptable. Employees at the manager level are RUDE to customers!!! Knowing this store serves the Jewish community they dare to have a no-refund policy for Jewish/Passover products; while all other Vons selling Jewish products in the non-Jewish community allows refund and exchange all year round! And it just so happens the product is no good. Sounds to me this store is lying and cheating its customer. read more

Is this the ugly stepchild of the West Hollywood one? Long lines, cashiers are slow. Items are either understocked or overstocked. Long lag between receiving and shelving. Phone recording says they are 24 hours but in fact close at one. Manager, who seems like he has trouble managing his own bowel movements, let alone the store, has not addressed any of these issues for months. Come on Vons, replace that guy and a couple of others there and put some people who can run a tighter ship in charge! Ralph's on Pico is a much better bet, or Whole Foods up the street or go to the We Ho Pavillions but this one my fellow shoppers will be one sucking experience for you... read more

This is 2nd time I realized that this happened to me as well. I went there last Tuesday and after the visit i got low grade fever and body aches after visiting that place. I was like that just weird I was perfectly fine before the visit. Then I went there last night and same thing happened , after couple hours had body aches and low grade fever. The good: Convenient 24 hour market right in BH. The staff is always very helpful. Plenty of parking. The bad: Nothing really, except it is probably is smallest store for a big market chain, but they have basically all the essentials you need. Verdict: I am so glad this store is here, especially when you need some emergency items at midnight! read more

Pricey but best place to purchase fresh fruit. I would worry about the avocado spread they put on sandwiches, it taste awful.

The WORST market in Beverly Hills. This market is always understaffed, has rude cashiers (several of who are allegedly managers), and always long lines. Although they claim no more than 3 in a line and they will open a new line - they don't and always claim there is no one to open a new register. It's true. Everyone here acts like they hate their job...and people. The produce guys, deli lady, cashiers. I waited 5 min at the tiny butcher counter in the back and I even pushed the buzzer a few times. Nothing. I walked all the way to the front TWICE to have someone find the butcher. When I walked back the 3rd time, the lame ass butcher was glaring at me, and continued the entire time I got my order. I wanted to tell him to cut it out and leave but I had already been waiting 15 minutes for the stupid tool in the first place. This whole place needs a staff overhaul. read more

The worst grocery store I've been to, everytime I go, they never have what they advertise on sale. Maybe once or twice is okay but not all the time. The Manager on duty is always apologizing and giving me a rain check but that is not the point. The last three times I was there I swore everytime I wasn't going back but it is conveniently close by so I went back, but the last time I was there was really the LAST TIME, if you walk the aisles they are empty of products. This Pavillions leaves A LOT to be desired. Because of proximity to where I live I end up here from time to time, swearing to myself "I'll never shop there again!" The customer service is lackadaisical at best and lines are consistently bad. This is usually because of the person working (or not as the case may be) the register. Last night I stopped in for fresh basil and after looking for someone to answer my question for over 10 minutes, was told that "we don't carry that." Ummm, huh? And when I pointed this out to the manager on duty - who I found hanging out by the one register open - he told me, "he's in training." So I asked, "who's training him?" I have a feeling that this Pavilions is going to close after the totally new Pavilions reopens in West Hollywood. Safeway has been closing down the smaller stores that do not fit in their "lifestyle" format. I didn't live in the area when Pavilions were first opened but I think the only reason that this location got the Pavilions name was because it was in Beverly Hills. It doesn't even have a bakery in it and it's so small. If it has only been remodeled once in 15 years that means they probably don't want to spend $ on a location that will eventually be closed. read more

I stopped in on my way to work this morning. It was 9:30 so I thought the lines wouldn't be that bad...wrong. Only 2 out of the 7 or 8 registers were open. There were a few uniformed workers walking around. One was clearly a register operator who was called over the loud speaker to open a register but decided that putting away groceries was more important than the customers forming increasingly longer lines. When she finally wandered over to take care of what should have been her 1st priority, she arbitrarily decided to take "the next customer" but didn't bother to see which line had the next customer...me. If I had the time to get details I would be filing a complaint with Pavilions corporate office because I am simply sick of being treated with such disrespect by people that are supposedly being paid to provide CUSTOMER service. I have mixed feelings about this store. I've notice that the employees with good customer service here are the younger ones. Cons: Try to avoid the big black lady, she's always running her mouth about something and is very rude. But if you want to come out of the store alive do NOT go to the fat supervisor for ANY help! Christine i think is her name. I've been shopping here for almost three years and i still can not understand how this crazy person with no customer service skill became a supervisor in the first place. I have seen her be rude to customers and also to her coworkers. Manager needs to stick her somewhere behind the scene where she doesn't have to deal with anyone. Or put her in a cage. Pros: They have some of the freshest fruits and sea food! I love that they have a kosher section. It's tiny put it works!
