This morning, on our way to my nephew's birthday, we stopped by the local Pavilions to grab Starbucks and a candle for his cake. I had never been to a Pavilions before, but I'm glad we decided to stop -- what a great first impression. While waiting for my fiancé to grab the candle, I noticed their beautiful premium liquor display. The setup was stunning, so I walked over for a closer look. That's where I met Ana Holdings, who was closing the cabinet. I joked with her that they were missing the best tequila. She asked which one, and I told her: Fortaleza. She playfully replied, "No we don't," and I told her I didn't see it. We ended up having a short but great conversation about tequila and spirits -- something I'm very familiar with. I asked her again about Fortaleza, and she told me to wait for a moment. Sure enough, she came back holding a Fortaleza Blanco bottle -- the last one in the entire store. The smile that put on my face was real. Anyone who knows tequila understands how special these bottles are: the craftsmanship, the flavor, the process, the rarity. I remember when they were $25, and now they're hard to find anywhere because of the demand. Finding one feels like a treasure hunt, and today I got lucky. To make it even better, I got an amazing price on this bottle -- lower than anything I've seen online or in other stores. That alone would've made my day, but the service took it to another level. I'm turning 40 next month, and I can't wait to open this bottle with friends and family. But what made this moment even better was Ana herself. Her friendliness, her knowledge, and her willingness to go above and beyond turned a simple grocery stop into a memorable experience. She didn't just provide great customer service -- she delivered five‑star service. She also took the time to tell us about everything Pavilions offers, including their weekly whiskey and wine tastings. Being in the service industry myself, I know how much small interactions can impact someone's day. Ana gets it. She's a true professional, and it's clear why she's the store manager. The store looked great, the staff seemed happy, and the overall atmosphere reflected strong leadership. Ana, I hope you receive recognition for this. Giving a 4 Star review cuz the guys up front are great. Plus Clarence in the service deli is 5 Star everytime. He always cuts the provisions exactly as requested everytime. The reason for the 4 Star overall rating is simple... too many times I've bought their 80/20 ground beef only to cook it up and realize it was 90/10 or 93/7 packaged up incorrectly. I realize mistakes happen but this one happens way too often and when you're buying 80/20 it's usually cuz you need the fat for flavor so it ruins the meal everytime they repeat the mistake. They do sell Harris Ranch steaks though and that's a very good thing. read more

I come to this Pavilions once or twice a year for hard to find items. Each year I find my favorite eggnog, which they have the largest local inventory. I use the self checkout so not much interaction with the staff. Store has been clean on every visit. read more

This is my local Pavilions and I am there every weekend. I always find what I need and the quality of the produce is great. The low point is always the service. There are only 2 or 3 employees who are nice, I wish I knew their names. The rest look angry to be there. It's always uncomfortable when you need help and have to ask an employee. read more

I ordered a drink and as an ex starbucks shift supervisor for several years, she told me the drink I ordered already came with blonde espresso, it doesn't. (It was a iced shaken espresso) She did not follow the starbucks standard and had an attitude when I kindly replied it didn't come with blonde espresso. I didn't mean any harm by it because I know there's so so much to memorize and make. Regardless, even when I walked up to the front she had a condescending attitude. And the people who came in after or before me received that same energy. Wanted to let management know that an employee went WAY out of his way to help me. Paul Mortenson is an exemplary employee and an asset to any company he works for. First I couldn't find a product in the store and he personally walked me right to the item. This is standard procedure for Pavillions employees and I do appreciate it. But then I left my wallet on the counter, I came back and asked for it and he looked in the place that it would go in this situation. It was not there so I assumed I dropped it outside so I left. Going into this Pavilions for the first time it was honestly very easy to find what I was looking for, the store in itself feels very welcoming and friendly. The Starbucks inside was very tempting and the treats in the bakery looked delicious! She always greats my family with a smile and knows my order and exactly how I like my deli meat and cheeses cut and she gets it ready for me. Very upscale supermarket. Always very clean. Very expensive supermarket. Very surprised lately on the shortage of items they have that they blame on the boat shortages but then I go to any of the stores around them (Ralph's, stater brothers, Trader Joe's) and they all have it and at half the price) don't get me wrong I love pavilions until recently when they have no stock. One thing I can say is absolutely phenomenal is their bakery. I would never go anywhere else for a cake or pastry or donut or even bagel and I'm a New Yorker lol. This store usually has some a decent selection of just about everything including behind the deli and meat counter. I took a couple of stars off because although the liquor section is extensive the head liquor manager appeared to imply that they kept some of the high end alcohol for themselves. This is our go to grocery store as it is nearby, clean, spacious and has most of the items we need. I particularly enjoy their drive up option. Ordering online through their app is awesome because they have deals specifically for what I tend to buy often. They have a back of store pick up location so it can be confusing which one to go to since they both say order pick up #1 and 2. After 7pm you have to pick up in the front. If the wait is longer than 5 minutes, you can call and they'll navigate the drive up person to you. Here and there I will get a not so fresh item and they'll reimburse you but this can be troublesome when you need the item for a recipe and have to drive all the way back. They put stickers on the reusable plastic bags but they are so big and wrap around the bag it makes it hard to reuse since when you peel the sticker it can tear the bag. read more

Shame on you Pavillions. A grocery order was delivered to me incorrectly today. The house number, street name and city were all wrong. I have no idea how this mistake was made. The order indicated that it was for a disabled veteran. I called your customer service which is clearly not in the US twice. The first person said you'd come to pick it up. Four hours later, when the stuff was still at my door, I called again and they assured me that the person would get their order and that I should keep or donate the food because they would not pick it up. I was not about to keep someone else's food, and since I had the address, I drove the five miles to deliver the food to the person who ordered it. He too had received the wrong order, but apparently had signed for it, so he was told that since he'd signed for it, that was that, he would not be receiving his actual order. This gentleman was wheelchair bound and had assumed it was his order and signed. He later realized the order was not his and you refused to remedy the problem your company had created. SHAME ON YOU for treating your customers this way. If I had not dropped off his food order to him, he was out $70 or so dollars for nothing. No more shopping at pavilions for me. That is atrocious behavior. He had explained his condition to your customer service reps and you even have disabled veteran on his order form, and still you refused to make it right. I don't know what to say other than shame on you. How your driver dropped off groceries to the wrong address, in the wrong city is beyond me. There are no similarities between my house number or street name with the actual address you were supposed to deliver to. I am horrified at your complete lack of service. read more

While the store is super clean with an extensive liquor department, this store location lacks in several things. Their customer service needs to improve a little, and certain selections in some departments could use some improvement, as well. I like their cheese department, and their organic produce section. Really really sad. I went to 3 stores to find a silver 6 balloon for my son. It's all he wanted to wake up to on his birthday. I wanted it filled fresh with helium so it would be new for him in the morning and had to work late. I went to 3 stores trying to find it. It was 9pm and the store manager refused to blow it up for me. Had no compassion for my need or making a little boys birthday. I had to work late and this was the earliest I could go. I have been coming here a few years and I love the store and the renovation!! The produce department is really the best around and I love all the all-natural products that they carry!! The meat department is always full to the brim with fresh and organic meats, the bakery always has something fresh and mouth watering, and the deli staff is friendly and efficient. They lost a star on wine I have gotten some nice bottles from here $50-$100 range and often when I get it home it is spoiled with wine all seeped out under the foil. Grocery store shopping shouldn't be an frustrating experience but Pavillions seems to know how to excel in that area. I appreciate the upgrades but with those upgrades it seems there's a big disconnect in the customer service. Lats month I picked up 2 dozen Littlenecks and when I got them home the stench was so off and overpowering I brought them back. The fishmonger told me to go the register to return them and when they took them back I was handed back a "credit receipt" and upon going back home there was no credit. So money down the toilet and didn't have time to go back again to sort this out, however if I'm going to throw out $24. I'd rather give it away to a good cause. Today I tried to shop there again, no one was working the charcuterie case area so after flagging someone down they said they would try to find the guy and come back. Go over to the seafood to get some Yellowfin where the guy moves a poke sauce spoon and then just dumps it back in the poke sauce container so here I am just watching as poke sauce is spilling all over the tilapia below but he's moving in slow motion so I'm not even going to tell him he's spilling poke sauce all over everything, truth be told I don't think he could have cared less. Find a 12 pack of SmartWater on sale so throw it in the cart and after several isles of shopping go back to the charcuterie where the staff are all standing around eating the customer cheese samples. Apparently the kid's back so after asking for a 1/2 pould of serrano and 1/2 pound of the parma he's confused. He doesn't know what parma ham is. I have to point out it's in the big bag that says PARMA on it. He tells me okay, he has to take both hams to the deli on the other side since his slicer doesn't work and come back. I've already been back and fourth several times that this is becoming plain silly. I tell him no thanks and put back my other cheeses and baguette back. Thanks for killing that motivation for me. Get into the express line which has grown into a grinding halt because the checker is out of cash and keeps asking Brian who's been to busy socializing with the people leaving the checkout woman and the growing line exasperated so she borrows money from another checkout counter. When we try to ring up a 12 pack of water, no luck, not in the system. She has to ask Brian who says "huh, let me go and check". This express line is not about 8 customers deep so in fairness to others I told the checkout lady to just forget it. When I asked the checkout line why is everything here just so difficult, she replies, "it's not, it's just today where everything is broken". I try to tell her that no, it's not just today, since the renovation it's become a lot more difficult to not only find things (why things like Broccolini are in the fruit section on one side of the store and not the vegetable section leave me completely baffled. Especially when I'm spending 15 minutes wasting time in the veg section ) she corrects me and says "It's not difficult, it's just today". Okay I'm a customer but that's okay apparently I'm in the wrong here. Trying to find and purchase 14 items really shouldn't take an hour and a half. When I asked about the people outside asking people to sign the Anti-Jerry Brown petition, instead of just replying "I don't know" or the standard corporate-speech like "people outside may not reflect the views of Pavillions" all she just says is "what do you want me to tell you it's a free country". So here's my review, if you work at Pavilions, sorry, but like your co-worker said, "it's a free country". I think I'll go back to Whole Foods. ps- The Anti-Jerry Brown people were there to protest the end of money when it comes to bail. While you may be for this or against this, I think it was kind of rotten that Pavillions couldn't have a corporate sign on the door our outside reflecting they don't have an opinion in these matters. read more

Racist place, plain and simple. In these tough times, it makes sense that we are only allowed to buy 2 egg cartons per costumer. Then why do the rules change negatively when an Asian person buys eggs? Why are Asians allowed to only buy ONE carton of eggs while everyone else in line bought 3 per person. A (non-Asian) family of 3 bought 3 eggs per person, so they bought 9 total. Then when an Asian person comes next, the rules change to one carton per person. The sign said two! We were literally the next one in line. This place is disgusting. read more

I find that there is a lack of Customer Service especially with the managers and the liquor department people. In addition, I never shop there that they I don't have to go to another store to complete my order. This review is for an employee named Linda, a female grocery checker at this location, Oso and Marguerite Parkway. Beware of this person..she is an angry bully who is very conflictual. Went in to return several items for making cookies I had bought earlier at Pavillions, as I was able to find pre made cookies elsewhere. I had the receipt I handed her, which was from a purchase an hour and a half ago and she immediately started making nasty faces, became very aggressive and began interrogating me as to why I was returning the items. She also yelled to the other checker, "This girl is trying to return the cookie dough and it's not frozen!" It was as if she was attempting to humiliate me or prove I was doing something dishonest. I let her know that I'd been running errands and had been in my car with the cookie dough in the bag, however, I had the receipt and that should suffice for a return. She continued to escalate in her aggressive behavior and when I asked what her name was (several different times), she repeatedly refused to give it to me. At that point, I was getting nowhere and told her I needed to speak to the manager immediately and I didn't want her "helping me" anymore nor did I appreciate her making a scene and being so conflictual over a very simple return of items with a receipt. Another male employee stepped in to help and start the return and finally gave me her name. Linda started to make faces at me like a child and said loudly, "Oh, I'm so scared!" I just stared at her and was in shock. I couldn't believe the way she was acting and was being ALLOWED to act at her workplace, particularly with customers! Her unprofessional, appallingly rude and downright out of line behavior reflects very poorly on the store. She is I'd guess a 50 something year old Hispanic female who was wearing a black mask. The manager, Mike, assured me that he would reprimand Linda, and I certainly hope so, as she is an angry and out of control bully who is looking for a fight, and should be held accountable for her erratic and unstable behavior. In my opinion, she should be let go. I couldn't believe she was not called out right on the spot and more was not done to rectify the situation. I've been coming to Pavillions for years (several locations around Orange County) and been working in customer service for years and I am not sure I will choose to return to this location after this terribly negative experience and lack of resolution. read more
