When I started, my almost 3-year-old pug mix, Fifi, struggled with barking, reactivity, separation anxiety, and had no reliable recall or response to commands. I was feeling overwhelmed, and even being at home had become stressful. While the training journey had its challenges, especially as a first-time dog owner with no prior experience, Chloe and Emily were there to guide and support me every step of the way. Their patience and encouragement gave me the confidence to keep learning alongside Fifi. The one-on-one sessions each week were invaluable, giving me the opportunity to receive real-time feedback in a supportive, judgment-free environment. The improvement in Fifi has been amazing. Now that I have more time I wanted to finish Bella's training. I reached out to bark busters because Bella had a lot of anxiety and would have non stop barking issues. We have a new baby in the house so all the barking was no fun! I'm telling you, no joke after the first visit with our trainer Justine, I felt as if Bella was a whole new dog! She gives such great advice on how to properly train your dog without food incentives and shock collars! I was so amazed that I started telling a lot of my friends about it! I just finished my second session with Justine today and she was giving me tips and tricks on how to walk Bella without her pulling. It was great to receive daily texts and videos of Lunas progress during these 3 weeks. Most importantly was great to see the growth of Lunas obedience and socialization. On the last day of pickup, Jose ensured Lunas new skills and also provided us parents with some proper corrections and training. I had previously tried Board and Train programs at Sit Means Sit twice, but they didn't help with KB's anxiety at all. Tony was a completely different experience. What sets Tony apart is how thorough he is. He didn't just give commands; he constantly explained the "why" behind KB's behaviors. He was also incredibly supportive of me, helping me work through my own fears and nervousness. Because of his guidance, I can now actually play box with KB without the fear that he'll suddenly react toward me. We covered so much ground, including: * Command & Muzzle Work: Building a foundation of safety and communication. * Boundaries: KB used to be glued to my side whenever I answered the door. Now, he can stay calmly on the couch while I greet someone, and he stays indoors even when I go through the patio door. * Safety & Care: Tony was always so accommodating with scheduling. Roel took Bumi in and was so patient with Bumi, he and his team really worked wonders with Bumi. From when we adopted him to now, it's a night and day change. His reactivity is still present because it can't change overnight but, with Roel and his teams help, it is much much much more manageable. I would highly recommend Roel and his team, he is the go to "pitbull" guy and does an amazing job with reactive dogs. Bumi really loves him too!

Nala is 11, very smart, independent, and has a strong protective streak, so she is not an easy dog to work with. Before training she was reactive toward other dogs/people/cars/bikes, selective with recall, and tended to make her own choices in stressful situations. I honestly did not expect much change at her age, but Julie proved me wrong. During the board and train, Nala became much more neutral around dogs, her recall improved, and she learned how to work calmly and confidently on the e collar. What I really appreciate is that Julie did not try to change who Nala is. She clearly understands complex, sensitive, very smart dogs and tailored the training to fit Nala instead of forcing a one size fits all method. Nala came home calmer, more responsive, more confident, and overall much easier to handle. Julie also spent a lot of time teaching me and my partner exactly what to do at home so we could keep the progress going. She walked us through the tools, the cues, how to handle Nala in different situations, and what kind of structure she needs day to day. We feel much more confident now. I can't wait to continue working with Julie on advanced obedience! If you have a reactive dog, an older dog, or a very smart and intense dog, I highly recommend Elevated Canine Academy and working with Julie.

One downside was that the facility was closed on Easter Sunday. I wish there had been an option to pick him up that day when I returned from my trip. During pickup, my experience at the front desk wasn't great. The staff member was speaking very loudly the entire time (possibly due to the barking in the background), but it came across as dismissive. There wasn't much eye contact or friendliness, which made the interaction feel impersonal. I also would have appreciated a quick update or report on how my dog did during his stay, as that would have added peace of mind. Overall, my dog seemed well cared for, but the customer service and communication could definitely be improved.
