So we made an appointment with Christian a week ago for noon. Today he called around 11 and said he was running behind and wouldn't be there until 12:30. That is no big deal, I understand with mobile groomers of this nature. He didn't arrive until close to 1pm. Once he arrived he seems very upset, frustrated, and extremely disinterested. We had two dogs, a Mini Amerikan Eskimo (15lbs) and a German Shepherd Mix (75lbs). He took about an hour with the Eski, and about 30min with the Shepherd. There was no conversation about what we wanted, length of cut, what was expected, or the process. He just asked us to put the Eski on the table and left the trailer. Once she was done, we walked the Shepherd out and left. When the dogs were done they were OK. Nothing special, and no "wow" factor that I was expecting from all these great reviews. They were just OK. Nothing more than what I would have gotten done at a PetsMart for half the price. My biggest concern was Christian himself. He was not personable at all, was very standoffish, and seemed like my dogs were bothering him. When he was done he waited at my front door for his check and left. In one of the other lower star reviews, Christian responded by saying he "always give a detailed invoice" and claimed that review was fake. I am telling you mine is 100% real, and the invoice comment is a lie. I have nothing from him. No invoice, nothing that said what he did, what products he used, nothing. I am assuming they got a bath because my Shepherd was wet when she returned, but that was all the information I have. I am not saying he did a "bad" job. Just not a great one compared to all these 5 star reviews. We won't be using him again. read more

I highly recommend this company. My dog had spine surgery and is getting older so I was hesitant to go to a traditional groomer that require you to leave them there for 4-6 hours. I'm so glad I found Paws for a Tail! I love that all I have to do is open my door and hand Christian my dog and I know that he will take good care of him. I love Christian! He just gave my cat the cutest lion cut. She's adorable. He did a great job. I was nervous about a lion cut, but he reassured me that I would love it. He was right, I love it an now don't have to worry about the constant mats any more. He warned me that my other cat might be upset at first and may try to attack her. He was right. It took about 2 days for him to get used to her. Now everything is fine and back to normal. I appreciated the warning. He is very professional. I would recommend him for pet grooming. Late last night (a Saturday), my dog Suki (a 5 yr old Australian Shepherd) discovered a skunk under the neighbors car, and, needless to say, she paid the price by receiving a full-faced blast of utter stink. I took her home and tried to wipe her down with some doggie baby wipes just to temporarily try to clean her up a bit until I could get her properly groomed. Of course, that was useless. There wasn't much I could do after midnight, so, Sunday morning I hopped online and came across the Paws for a Tail website. I wasn't expecting much never having used a mobile groomer, but it would be days before I could take her to Petco or some other place, and I am without transportation. I asked Christian for an estimate of cost and how soon he might be able to take care of her. He quoted me a comparable price to Petco/PetSmart (which I was familiar with), and was even able to come out within a couple of hours, so, of course, I said yes. First impression- great, no-hassle quote and customer service attitude. Second impression- highly professional set-up and an excellent description and knowledge of the service and remedy for out problem. Final impressions- excellent job grooming her- she looked and smelled great- and there was no hidden b.s. He gave her a great treatment at the quoted price plus a little extra. I couldn't get my dog to the the regular groomer for 2 weeks. An acquaintance from church recommended him and I was able to set up an appointment several days later. Considering he is mobile, I thought the pricing would be very expensive. It turned out he is no more than the regular groomer. My dog has allergies and chews her paws. I hope others will find this helpful. We had the same groomer for 2 years that my dog really liked. But the last few times we scheduled an appointment, the groomer always had an excuse why they would be late or had to postpone. Last week we scheduled with the same person and once again another delay. I had enough and looked on yelp to find a local mobile groomer and came across Christian's name in a review on another posting. He answered his phone right away and agreed to come out on Saturday afternoon. Come to find out my wife had rescheduled with the original groomer. I called Christian back, explained the situation and told him my belief that the groomer will once again not show, and I would call back to reschedule. Go figure...found out in the morning the original groomer was once again making an excuse, so I called Christian immediately. He said he could still come by in the afternoon and he was right on time. Christian has a clean trailer fully equipped to handle even the largest breed, and his appearance is professional. He told me about his history of working with dogs all his life, about his dogs, and his knowledge of the local groomer community. He has a calming demeanor and adapted to my dog's personality which is a little skittish toward unfamiliar people. When we were done, Christian was concerned that perhaps my dog was uncomfortable with him , and I acknowledged that it was likely because of the newness. But I assured him that a couple more visits and they would be buddies. Christian asked if he could say goodbye to my dog before leaving just so he could be sure the two left on good terms. My dog greeted him with a goodbye like he does all his friends which is quite rare to new people.
