There are about 10 un-housed people that live here. They won't bother you too much except to tell you about the child predator that also visits there and to watch your kids. Occasionally, the Marshall will show up for a visit. The icecream man comes back sometimes and there is a taco truck around the corner at 711. Good people watching at the 711 around the corner too, and you can grab some cheap hotdogs for the game. They do have a pretty large dog park here that I don't see being used very often. More often than not, there are just random dogs running around. They also have a basketball court and just recently fenced off the kids play area. I suggest taking mosquito spray if you are wearing shorts after it rains.

There is NO street parking, which is a bummer. I ended up parking near the gate, letting my pup and the kiddo out and then finding parking down the way so my pup wouldn't have to walk on the hot street. We were the only ones in the park, so I can't speak to the other park patrons' behaviors. The park itself was fairly clean and gave my pup room to roam, so for me (and her!) it was a winner.

I have 2 dogs and because it's so hot Iate mornings I usually let them wash off in the splash pad for a couple mins, them dry them off before getting in the car. I won't go in there if there are other people and children around. My dogs are trained. I watch many people bring their dogs off leash in the splash pad with no repercussions. But the second I step foot on the pad with my dogs, in an empty park, here comes the security truck driving up to tell me to put my dogs on leash. They have specifically targeted me. I'm pretty sure it's because I have been vocal about it. I've been in the park literally alone with not a single soul in sight, my dogs by my side while I dry them off, and here comes security. I told them that they must be so bored in their day to send someone to drive all the way out there in 115 degree weather, in an empty park to tell one soul person to put their dogs on leash. Today I watched as 2 peope bring their dogs unto the spash pad, off leash for a good while and left. One oerson's dog wasnt even wearing a collar. I went unto to the splash pad after them for no more than 2 minutes. And like clockwork, here comes security driving in to harass me. If you're going to enforce the rules then enforce it for everyone. At this point I am being targeted and discrimated against. Yeah, I'm black too so what does that tell you.

They have 3 different areas depending on the size of your dog, but one is always closed for maintenance giving you the option of two areas for small/medium or medium/large dogs. The dog park itself is usually maintained and I appreciate the nice space. The downside to me is sometimes other dog owners or rude people here, but that can happen anywhere so just be aware. It's very sad to see irresponsible owners leaving their dog waste in this place for dogs. Well, I…read moredidn't see them do it, but I was avoiding piles here and there. It's just a pet peeve of mine; people are like that, lazy, inside of our community too. I have dog waste bags attached to our leash. I also have wet wipes attached to the leash too. There are large waste bins inside and outside of the Facility- so there is no excuse. There were a few tables and a bench for visitors. Before I took her in, we already had a walk beforehand, so I wanted to really get a bit tired. I met some nice dog-owners yesterday. I took my senior dog here, and she didn't know what to make of it. We hardly take her on car rides because she used to be really noisy, like shrieking loudly noisy, but in her senior years, she's mellowed out. I took her off the leash, and at first, she was close to me, as I was walking, but then she just kind of sniffed the perimeter of the chain link fence. Of course, she stepped right into the puddle of water. But then some dogs were coming up to her, sniffing her private area, and she was doing the same, which was fine. In her earlier years, she would've caused a fight. But like I said, she is mellowing out.

At least not the dog sh!t part. which is crazy cuz this is really a place where "due on to others" would make the most sense to practice. WTF dont people pick up their dogs shit is truly baffling, but I will say this... The park is huuuuuggeeee and sometimes when my dog is off playing in certain corners of this dusty green patchy canine dystopia I do occasionally miss his poops... Or I see him pooping and then by the time I get over there I cannot find the turds i know i saw him drop. #phantomPoops So what do I do? pick up other people's poop to pay it forward so that we're not all just out here dodging land mines of poop. It takes a village to .... keep the dog park clean you motherf@ckers!!! And if aint the poop, its da mfn MUD. Bruuuhhhh its the summer the grass is brown, dry & fucked up so where tf these big ass mud puddles come from???? If you're hoping for any quiet UV protection in the desert, bring a hat or an umbrella... or walk into the talkers circle in the shade with headphones on. they dont even have to be on fr fr. just walk up and start rapping an E40 song and u should be okay. but anyway, its very NOT SHADY. you & ur dog will burn alive by noon. all this... And yet... I still love this place. Why? Because like I said... it's massive. airplane-hangar-meets-football-field type sh@t. And no matter how crowded it gets, there's always a patch of dirt and grass you can claim like the antisocial homesteader you are deep down.. This is a lifesaver for me but even more so ... my dog, who, bless his obsessive little heart, is deeply committed to his one true love: the ball. He's doesn't arrive at the dog park with a friendly attitude and wiggly tail ready to sniff butts or make friends. Oh no.
