Summerlin's most thoughtfully designed neighborhood park…read more Unusually green for Vegas and beautifully balanced between walking paths, picnic spaces, sports areas, and family-friendly corners. Its 18 acres are lined with mature trees, and this time of year the ornamental pears are peaking. They burst into clouds of white blossoms, their branches dusted like powdered sugar. When the breeze moves through, petals drift down slowly, almost like a gentle snowfall. It's intensely beautiful, and because the bloom is so brief, and arrived early this year, it's worth visiting now before it disappears. Notes: although a sign lists the hours as dawn to 10:30pm, the park feels safe. I haven't seen any homeless individuals here, likely thanks to the security guard who patrols in a golf cart. The amenities are extensive: lighted basketball and tennis courts, sand volleyball, bocce ball, horseshoe, shuffleboard, a large playground, BBQ grills, and a community center offering classes and programs. There's also restrooms, water stations, and plenty of parking. My dog has officially declared this his new favorite park. He loves seeing all his friends, each greeting the other with sniffs, and catching up on everything they've missed since yesterday, lol!

So that leaves me with my only option of grouping my dog with much larger dogs that are 25lbs or more which is dangerous for my tiny 10 pound mini dachshund. In my experience being here a handful of times, I have a found that about half of the owners are careless and do not take responsibility for their pets behavior. My word of caution if you have a small pup anywhere from 6 months to a year old and you want your pup safe just avoid this park. But if you do decide to take your pup to this specific park then I'd suggest you leash them at all times, which kind of defeats the purpose of going to a dog park. This was my experience and sadly at this moment until many things improve, I cannot recommend Kellogg Dog Park.

We found this dog park randomly through an Apple Maps search for "dog parks." Chose this one…read morebecause it seemed the most open and spacious. Turns out it was. Great open space with real grass. Pups enjoyed chasing the birds. There's public park bathrooms nearby which is very convenient if you need to use the bathroom or just if you'd like to wash your hands - there's both soap and water as well as sanitizer. The dog park has several concrete benches throughout the park both in the shade and in the sun. We started in the shade but then it was too chilly so we moved to a nice bench and got some sunshine. It wasn't a busy day. We went on Thanksgiving Day. Several dogs came and left. The few people we met were very friendly and talkative in a neighborly way. Dogs are required to be spayed or neutered and over 4 months of age. A good policy to have for any dog park! There's a spacious large dog side and small dog side. Each has its own poop bag stations and water fountains for pups. Trash cans are abundant throughout the park as well. Overall, it's one of the best dog parks in terms of cleanliness, convenience, spaciousness, and design.

It makes a big difference when you have little ones or wanderers and want a bit more peace of mind. There are options for both bucket swings and regular swings, so it works well for different ages. The splash pad area is pretty spacious and gives kids plenty of room to run around, although it's not enclosed. There are quite a few trees around the park but they aren't really positioned in a way that provides much shade where you'd actually want to sit/can sit comfortably. The women's bathroom had multiple stalls, which was nice, but there was no changing table or hand soap in the bathroom. The bathrooms just gave a very worn look/feel to it though. Also not a big fan that they were a bit far from the playground and right in front of the parking lot. It gave me a bad feeling. I also saw there's a disc golf course here, if anyone is wondering (pics provided). The biggest issue for me was the amount of trash scattered around. There was everything from random litter to cigarette butts in common areas, which took away from the overall experience. With better maintenance, I feel like this park can be a favorite in the future.

Bring hand sanitizer!

It's just a pet peeve of mine; people are like that, lazy, inside of our community too. I have dog waste bags attached to our leash. I also have wet wipes attached to the leash too. There are large waste bins inside and outside of the Facility- so there is no excuse. There were a few tables and a bench for visitors. Before I took her in, we already had a walk beforehand, so I wanted to really get a bit tired. I met some nice dog-owners yesterday. I took my senior dog here, and she didn't know what to make of it. We hardly take her on car rides because she used to be really noisy, like shrieking loudly noisy, but in her senior years, she's mellowed out. I took her off the leash, and at first, she was close to me, as I was walking, but then she just kind of sniffed the perimeter of the chain link fence. Of course, she stepped right into the puddle of water. But then some dogs were coming up to her, sniffing her private area, and she was doing the same, which was fine. In her earlier years, she would've caused a fight. But like I said, she is mellowing out.

They also have a fitness area as well as a jogging path that I've had the pleasure of using to burn off those pesky calories. Lastly, they have one gazebo area as well as a frequently visited ice cream truck. Hence the reason to burn off those calories, lol.

It's a great spot for a workout and a long walk. The park is in beautiful condition, minus some trash overflowing throughout the park trash bins when I visited. It seemed busy with lots of people. The parking lot was full, but there was plenty of off street parking as well. A great upbeat vibe for a park with lots of active people here enjoying the outdoors.
