I'm extremely disappointed and angry with the service provided by club K9. Our dogs were enrolled in their two-week training program, but unfortunately, they lost a significant amount of weight (20%) and became severely ill during their stay. Despite their poor health, we were still required to pay the full amount of $14,000. They told us - your dogs health conditions are not our concerns!!!! You signed the contract After picking up our dogs, we immediately took them to the vet, who was shocked by their condition. It's been a year, and one of our dogs continues to require frequent hospital visits, resulting in additional veterinary bills of over $10,000. My dog could die because of them. I hope this review serves as a warning to others considering this business for their pet's training needs. read more

We took our little guy to Club K-9 for service dog training several years ago ( about 3 years) and they did a spectacular job. He is just the perfect service dog when working. We recommended them for years. Now, do NOT bring your dog here. We started taking our boy for daycare feeling like he needed to have more socialization. We went against our instincts the first day because we trusted them. Walking in you smell nothing but dog. Which was abnormal. We decided if it was still bad when we picked him up we would not do take him again. It was better so we brought him next week. He was energetic when we got him home and so we took him again next week. He loved it. So we took him yesterday. I picked him up an hour early and he was acting odd the moment he was brought out to me. Usually he lingers wagging his tail but this time he ran for the door. In the car he was subdued and not acting like normal. His behavior continued to be odd. Last night he slept with my mom in her bed, which he never does. He was still acting odd this morning and wanted answers. Upon contacting them they deflected and told us Zachary (the fantastic owner) had sold the business six months ago. We asked again what happened and asked them to investigate. They said our dog was a good boy who was playful and wanted cuddles. Nothing else. They did not have time to investigate because this was an immediate reply via text to our request. Do NOT bring your baby here. We cancelled our future appointments and I came here to immediately warn everyone. I hope those currently bringing their dogs here see this. Cross posting this review on Google. read more

Let me start off by saying how amazing the staff is and how knowledgeable they are with challenging breeds. I came in with a whole list of questions and was full of anxiety. My 2 Belgian malinois are very unique in demeanor and behavior. They don't do well with people they don't know and don't play well with others. Tabitha was great and answered all of my questions and reassured that my babies were in good hands. I took my girl first for daycare. She was a nervous wreck and got stress induced colitis (for those who don't know it is common in shepherd breeds) She was fine in 3 days, which is typical. Next day I took my boy in and he seemed ok. The staff emailed photos and updated me on how they did. The next week I took them both together for boarding. The staff made sure they had separate sleeping areas, but they got to play together and even made friends with the staff. Dogs came back happy and healthy and appeared to have been well taken care of. It is hard to find staff and establishments that are experienced with Belgian malinois and know how to interact with them. If you know you know! I am so thankful I didn't listen to the ridiculous "bad reviews" and went in to check this place out myself. The place smells like puppy because they care for lots of dogs! They are constantly cleaning and keeping the dogs in a play rotation based on behavior and interaction needs. I appreciate that not all of the dogs are just left out to freely roam because with that many k9s of the challenging type things can go south quick! They do an amazing job at keep ALL dogs safe, healthy and happy. We will definitely be back and enjoyed all of the photos emailed to us over the course of their stay. They have done an amazing job with my dogs and I can't wait to see how their bonds build over time. NOT trustworthy when it comes to taking care of dogs. I signed up my chihuahua for puppy training classes. I took a 10 pound bag of Royal Canin food since he was spending 2 weeks in training. A few days later I was contacted by a staff member asking me to bring more food. I was shocked to hear the food was running out so I asked how come; I was told it was due to my puppy spending more energy than usual being in training so he getting fed more frequently. At the time it made sense but in the back of my mind I was wondering how in the world a 7 pound puppy had eaten a 10 pound bag of food in less than a week!? Anyway, I obviously took another 10 pound bag of food. ...BUT when I picked up my pup 2 weeks later I almost cried upon seeing him as he was super SKINNY. Not only that, but he hadn't learned a thing in the 2 weeks he spent in training. By the way, in case you don't know--they train dogs using a shock collar. Also until this day I have a lingering feeling that my pup was given more shocks than necessary. When I complained to Zachary about not seeing a difference in my puppy's behavior he told me it was part of my responsibility to continue reinforcing what my dog learned so he could continue improving. I agree with that, HOWEVER what was I supposed to continue reinforcing if my pup hadn't learned anything. While some of the people that work there seem to do a decent job with some dogs, the owner doesn't really care. He cares about the money but not so much about delivering satisfying results. It's bad business practice how he gets you pumped when you first inquire about their services and then leaves you dry if there's a problem. This business ripped me off nearly 3K but there's a God up there that sees everything. I trust that God will serve the right karma one day (if he already hasn't). I trust in God's justice not only due to the waste of money but most importantly for two reason: 1) I can't forget how skinny my dog became while in Club K9's care. AND 2) My dog is scared of everything after spending 2 weeks with these guys. My dog and I are together 24/7. I had never and have never left him alone with anyone other than with these people. Who knows what happened while my dog was in their care. I'm sure God saw everything so I rest in the confidence that justice will be served by God on behalf of all the wrongdoings this family owned business has committed against other dogs and their families. NOT RECOMMEND. Ps. You can tell the character of the owner by reading his replies to the poor reviews on Google (go see them for yourself). No humility, disrespectful and lack of emotional control. Update! You can read the owners response they never once reached out to make it right. You understand a one size fits all approach doesn't work yet you haven't stepped up to make a difference or make it right. If you're gonna write a bunch of fluff have the back bone to back it up. This is how they treat you after they get your money. Do your research and look past the advertising! Find a trainer to get a real service dog! You can't use an e-collar for the Canine Good Citizen test or have a dog inappropriately urinating on the floor. The dogs go to the bathroom so frequently on the floor they have a team dedicated to cleaning it up. You can't mix service dogs with behavioral correction dogs. My dog became reactive to dogs out of fear. Club k9 trains them all the same all together. I watched many "corrected dogs" lung and try to bite other dogs during training some without muzzles on. Save your money and don't make the same mistake. It won't let me attach pictures but they replied to my post a couple months later. Please read! I think a lot of people don't post how they actually feel about this place in fear of loosing access to the boarding facility.In a quick summary the training facility does not make service dogs and the boarding facility is an over priced kennel. Details of full experience bellow. I hope this helps you in finding your way through your service dog journey! Comments regarding training:I took my dog for service training and while not every dog can be cut out for it they did nothing but tell me he was good. I was given a certificate at the end of training that they were pleased with him. I was shocked when I first brought him home and saw him barking and growling with reactivity at people and other dogs. I have NEVER seen him do that before. They told me to keep working and be patient. He's 11 months old now and he started his training at 6 months with them. Since then I've found another trainer and we're making progress. But the learned reactivity he got from club k9 has been tough to train out of him. I went to every class and every time I expressed my issues I was passed off and ignored. There were multiple email chains were I expressed my concerns out of class besides just vocal ones. Their website advertises they will work with a dog as long as it takes and you should know they will not. Your dog will go through the program and then you're left with as good as they can get them. If you're wanting a service dog I do not recommend them. Basic obedience maybe. The main reason is they don't prepare service dogs to work in real world environments. Every dog in their classes inappropriately urinates and poops on the floor. You can't have a service dog peeing on the floor of a store. My "service dog" couldn't even handle a walk around the block when I first brought him home. They also advertise they will do specific task training. I asked about this constantly and was blown off. They will not work with you on any actual task training without additional money. Having the dog go under a chair is considered a task to them and the only thing they will teach during the service dog training program. I personally didn't want to go back to pay for task training when the basics I already paid for weren't there. In addition to that they won't work with you on weekends or after normal office hours. They aren't accommodating in the slightest. I drove 4 hours twice a week to go to every single one of their classes and got my work to change my schedule temporarily for me to go. I will give club k9 credit for his heeling and going under chairs though. I understand it takes time for a Doberman to learn and I wish they would have put in the effort and time to help me and him. They do not prepare service dogs at the minimum to be able or prepared to take the good citizen test. They do a great job teaching dogs to sit, lay down, and stick to you like glue when you're walking. I understood I signed a contract and couldn't request a refund or partial refund. You should be aware before you spend a large sum of money like I did. read more

I have a 4 year old shepherd with reactivity issues and I took him to Club K9 on Lake Mead. Until then, I couldn't take him out of the house because he was basically uncontrollable. Any person or animal that we passed, he would lunge and bark at. I took him to Club K9 and they were the best. They treated him (and me) with patience and kindness. After their training, I am able to walk Achilles, take him in stores and let him accompany me to my office regardless of how many people are there. We can walk by other dogs, cats and birds and he does not react to them at all. I highly recommend Club K9 to anyone who cares for their dog and needs to improve life for them and their families. We only use club K9 to board our dogs. We have used other pet hotels in the past but they seem to be too crowded and chaotic. On the other hand, clubK9 is never too crowded and most of the dogs are so calm there. Of course the facility is always clean. I feel like they focus on the dogs comfort and needs rather than focusing on making the space cute or put all the dogs in one space in the name of "play time." BEWARE! My dog was brought in yesterday 9/28/22 at 9:15a. I picked up my dog today prior to 9:00am. Club K9 charged me $6500 for one night. The reason why I took her today was because last night I went to go check on the building to see what was going on. It was around 9pm. All the shades were down, and I knocked on the door, and a lady answered, who was extremely rude and asked what I want. At the same time this man who had already seen sitting on his car, watching the front door, came up to her and told her that she only has a limited amount of time and she doesn't wanna miss out on this opportunity. The lady who works there told him she knows and will b with him as soon as she was done getting dogs in their cages. I had no idea what in the hell was going on, but it certainly didn't feel good. Every dog in the building was barking and clearly distressed. I could not reach any of the numbers given to me at check in. No ER number. On top of this, the parking lot is connected apparently to a liquor store. My bad for not doing more research. However, they are refusing to refund me any money. read more

I recently rescued a dog named McQueen from the animal shelter. He had suffered some trauma and was extremely fearful, and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Club K9 to care for him. They treated him with kindness, compassion, and patience. They treat the dogs there like their own. The facility is the cleanest that I've seen, and I don't know how they do it, but it actually smells GOOD as soon as you walk in the door! The kennels are large and spacious. The staff at Club K9 was incredibly friendly and accomodating, as well, and so pleasant to deal with. I was in a stressful situation with this dog that I had just rescued, and they bent over backwards to enable me to save this dog. I am so grateful to them. They truly care. I can relax, knowing my dog is in good hands at Club K9. I highly recommend Club K9 to anyone who considers their dog to be a member of their family. read more

*PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!!!!* I will NEVER forgive myself for bringing my dog here. Let me start by saying, there's no bigger red flag than a business owner taking no responsibility, making no apologies and blaming the customer on every single negative review. So I will beat you to it, Susan. It IS my fault for being an idiot. Instead of trusting my gut instinct, I trusted this place to care for my best friend. My last Yelp review was over five years ago. I don't use Yelp to make reviews or comment, but I feel it's my duty to warn others so they don't make the same mistake. I even waited a few days to gather my thoughts, so this isn't a spur of the moment emotional rant. It's been 5 days and I'm still shaking I'm so upset. They say "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." I picked up my English bulldog after a 7 night stay this past Saturday. Upon entering, I was informed that his bedding was in the wash. The employee stated that they came in for the morning shift, found my dog's kennel covered in bloody diarrhea, bloody urine. Employee stated that when he let him out to pee, he lifted his leg and blood splattered the wall. I quickly loaded my dog in the car and drove straight to the vet. His face was filthy from neglect/wrinkles not being wiped for several days. There was dried blood on his paws, dried blood on his chest, dried blood on his bottom. He was weak, had visibly lost weight. After 5 hours at the vet, and 900.00 in vet bills, I was given medicine for a urinary tract infection and for the diarrhea (most likely caused by being in such a stressful environment and being neglected/not being let out to pee often enough. It's not my problem if there are too many dogs there.) The weight loss is from either A. not eating his food for days or B. having diarrhea for a prolonged period of time. (Or both.) Why wasn't I told? His bark is almost non existent. From either A. Barking his head off for needing to pee so badly and being ignored or B. someone shocking the s**t out of him. (Most likely both.) The shock collar is a whole separate issue I'm still trying to forgive myself for. (Yes, it is a SHOCK collar.) Like I said, fool me twice shame on me. The first time goes back to February. I had signed him up for a 10 week training course where you leave him for a few weeks, then go in to work with trainers and your dog together so YOU TOO can learn how to shock the s**t out of your dog. My thinking was, "this is a short time compared to the rest of his life. Let's get through this, it will be worth it in the long run." From the beginning, my gut said no. When you walk in this place, the dogs are all sitting on bare floors in kennels. Many have bowls full of kibble, meaning they fill them up and leave it (what's the point of giving feeding instructions about measurements?) it is LOUD. It is STRESSFUL. At one point during the initial board and train, I went for training on Feb 14 and was met with my dog, wet diarrhea on his butt/legs and he had lost weight. I asked how long had he been sick for? No one could give me a straight answer. I took him out of boarding and to the vet immediately. (Their recommended vet) Of course their vet said it's totally normal, it happens to lots of dogs, he will be okay. Call it the Sunk Cost Fallacy, (6k at that point) but I took him back the following day. (The vet said he was ok, right?) We made it through training, as much as I tried I was never comfortable with their method of shocking. A couple months go by, I need to board my dog for 7 days. What does my dumba** do? I took him to the place that I've already "invested" so much time and money into. And here I am. I will NEVER forgive myself for putting my dog through this. It's been 5 days and he is STILL SICK with diarrhea. He wakes me up at 3-4 am to go to the bathroom. I'm going back to the vet tomorrow. Susan, I have never met you, but I will allow you to put the blame on me. I chose to put my dog there against my gut feeling. But there is NO excuse for hiding how sick my dog was not once, but twice. There is NO excuse for not contacting me about his weight going down and him not eating and having diarrhea for days. There is NO excuse for continuing to shock a dog that is clearly in distress and unhappy. You call yourselves professionals and I trusted you. I'm honestly worried for all the dogs stuck in there at this very moment. To anyone reading this, I BEG YOU, PLEASE DO NOT BE AN IDIOT LIKE ME. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. read more

I arrived for training only to have some awful man tell me to just keep shocking her until she listens, this after they had her for 2 weeks already. I came back the next day to pick up my pet, after i secured other training for her, & while they were pretending to gather her things, they banged my credit card for 7k, the fee for the whole 2 month program without saying a word to me. I had offered to pay them half the fee but apparently that wasn't enough. Thankfully the credit card company saw this for the total fraud it was & refunded my money. We placed 3 dogs for service training into their program. They did an amazing job! Sadly one of our puppies had underlying issues (we had no idea he was born with a renal deficiency). Club K-9 places such good care and attention to all of the pups. They made us aware of his symptoms and because he was under such a watchful eye, we were able to get his treated right away. Sadly he could not continue with the program. Our other two pups were able to finish the program and flourished in their care and guidance! They are truly an amazing facility. If you are willing to place your babies in their care ... you will have amazing results! Thank you to everyone at Club K-9. I would definitely recommend their training programs and instructors! I have a Rottweiler puppy and at the time I didn't think there was really anything about his habits that he wouldn't either grow out of being a puppy or that I couldn't work on myself. However, I knew this pup was one day going to outweigh me and living in the city I needed to be able to control him. I stopped into Club K9 on a whim one day and Susan took over thirty minutes to walk me through the entire process I left without any questions unanswered. It took me a week or so to pull the trigger because it was expensive but now I can say THE BEST money I have ever spent. I have such an incredible dog and now I look back at those habits I thought were fine and now can say are no way acceptable. I did the off-leash program and it was difficult not having Rajah around a month but absolutely worth it. Now he is home and we still go to training a couple times a week, best part of my week. I love seeing Rajah get better and better, I love seeing the other dogs in his class improve, and Zachary and Terry put so much effort into not only our pups, but us as handlers. I was honestly nervous about leaving him at Club K9 like he wouldn't get enough love during the day...well clearly he did because I am pretty sure most days Rajah likes the trainers more than me. I will say that if you are not willing to put in the effort and care about your dog's training than Club K9 is not for you. You need to be willing to continue working with you dog daily, showing up to training, and following what the trainers tell you to do. A lot of work but well worth it. I now have a seven month old pup that behaves better than any of my friends dogs that are well into their adult years. 100% would recommend to anyone. read more

Lost 1 star for taking deposit without informing me that e collars would be used. 1 star for my dog only being 60 percent improved from day of drop off for OFF THE leash training. 1 star for not being able to tell me whether my dog was stubborn or "aggressive" and charging me an additional 1600 dollars for behavior modification. 5800 dollars later plus a purchase of an e collar and only 60 percent obeying their taught commands of "stay, place, sit, heel." I really hoped that this would've been a better experience. They were inflexible even at this amount of money to aid with scheduling. There is lack of 1 to 1 interactions. There is also no real directions or plans once taking your pup home. Another thing that perturbed me was when I was at one of the classes and they told my dog and I to go practice another activity. With the leash on I had to tie it to a door while every other dog owner was able to work on placing dog in sit and have the other dogs wake around them. They said in the beginning if the dog is not at the level they are supposed to be at they would keep until they were. Again, falling short of their promises and guarantee. -During a training session I was able to observe their training of service dogs. One of the exercises was having the dog called from a distance while still attached to their leash. The dog is called and then while moving they are commanded to go to a lay down, if they do not and they continue to proceed toward their owner the instructor would take the leash and oscillate the leash very strongly and yell at the dog down. I'm sorry but that coupled with an e collar is unacceptable. Please make sure you inquire about this "training" technique. Swinging a leash up and down harshly and yelling at the dog was too much for me too stomach, I did not attend the last two sessions because of the above. -I just thought you're supposed to get what you pay for, again with this training it fell short of getting what I paid for.
