Our dog contracted canine influenza from here after a day of doggie daycare in late October 2021. We'd never seen our dog be so sick before. Also cost us almost $1000 to get him treated. Our dog normally attends another doggie daycare that we love but it's quite a drive aways. We wanted to try this place since it was closer to home. Our fault for thinking they would actually keep their facility sanitized. Also, way too many dogs just milling about. The staff doesn't play or interact with the dogs. It's like taking your dog to the dog park and letting them play amongst themselves. Grooming is terrible as well. We're not even sure if our dog got washed with shampoo or if they just sprayed him down with water and then called it a day. If you care about your dog, don't take them here. We won't ever be back. read more

We brought our puppy here for the first time because they were highly recommended by friend who would go out of there way to bring there dog here for boarding and daycare. On the phone, we were told on our first visit we would get a tour and have a temperament test for Arlo and was told to bring him in around 10am and someone would be able to work with us. When we arrived, they took our pup to the back and brought him to the daycare area with about 15+ dogs. Without a tour or really any introduction other then being asked to fill out some liability paperwork. Once he was brought in, I noticed my dog was screaming, as they called it a "death cry" in fear a/ all the other dogs crowded him very quickly. He was brought out and I was told that he seems very scared and it maybe due to his first visit. They had told me they would try again around 2pm when most of the boarding dogs went home for the day and it would be a smaller less intimidating group. I've been to one other facility, where they introduced our pup in a smaller kennel to a few other dogs to make sure there were no aggressive tendencies. If my dog was aggressive, which he's not, I feel like this could have ended very badly. Instead he was just thrown in with no introduction, which I believe may have set him back in confidence skills and training. After watching the cameras, we noticed that after 2pm, he still had not been placed in with the other dogs. We were worried and decided that he had enough for the day and we would pick him up. When we arrived, our pup was so happy to see us. I asked them if they had introduced him back into the pack. They quickly said no, and stated he had individual care for the day with some walks. Which I assumed meant kenneled for most of the time he was there. I've been told that good boarding facilities give you tours and complete temperament testing. Which I was told that this place offered. I just didn't see that on our first visit. I'm not sure I will bring him back. read more

Kennel cough here in early Sep 2021. My two boys stayed here for a few days and now they've got kennel cough with serious cough and runny nose. They are fully vaccinated but still got 'em. I am spending $300+ for vet and medications, and my boys are old so they suffer more. I would definitely avoid place as big, unclean as this one. read more

Kennel Cough Warning! Both of our completely healthy/fully vaccinated dogs stayed here for 4 nights in May 2021, and now have kennel cough! Definitely would not recommend. Brought out golden puppy here for his first day care experience. Couldn't have been happier with the experience from the first phone call (they called our vet for us to get vaccine records) to the complementary bath he got at the end of the day (he got messy and they cleaned him up!). Sent us home with some sweet Valentine's Day treats for humans and puppy. So excited to have found a place to drop our puppy off for the day. He loved it and arrived home happy and tired. I've got mixed feelings @ Paws Pet Resorts... 'Just say I had a few concerns. 'Brought HAPA Boy in for "Play Group" and that seemed to go "okay." A few days later brought him in for a "Sleepover" & that seemed "okay" as well... However, the both times I picked HAPA up, he was very thirsty & pissed like a racehorse... (Shrugs) 'Odd. HAPA came home with the usual bumps, cuts & scrapes one can expect from playing with The Pack but he also had a good sized slice/gash on his rear leg, which gave me cause for concern. After I picked HAPA Boy up from his sleepover, I arrived home and noticed that two food containers that I had brought with him were absent from his things. I'm not talking ghetto tupperware (i.e. - used cool whip tubs), but real containers. * Emailed Paws Pet Resorts inquiring about HAPA's food containers, no reply. * Emailed Paws Pet Resorts a few days later w/a photo of what the containers looked like, received a reply that they will "look for them" & contact me. When I was going away for 10 days in July I toured pretty much every pet hotel in South OC. There were three main reasons I chose paws... 1. Staffed over night 24/7 2. dogs get to go on outside walks 3. don't charge for everything individual This place is the best they took care of my Prince when I as gone for 10 days. I wrote them a whole letter about his care and they followed it. I also called everyday to check on him This place is top notch and the employees are really caring. They make some of the other boarding places look scary. I still bring my boys for play and will use them again for my next vacation. read more

This past week was Kayla's third time staying and playing at Paws Pet Resorts. I am also one of those overprotective dog moms and this place meets my expectations! The first time we came in was a last minute trip out to Florida. I called the day before (on a Sunday) and they happily took her the next day. The staff here are great! They also do an amazing job on her bath - she easily smells good for two weeks after coming here. I also like that the dogs aren't put in cages, but rather, individual rooms with their own bedding. The description of their sleepover services had me sold... awakening to "soothing piped in music"!?! Are you kidding me? That's awesome. Also, their last potty time in 10pm. Another kennel I had used had their last call at 7pm. That's way too early. The most important thing is that Kayla seems to genuinely like coming here. She excitedly bounces out of the car to go in and when I pick her up she seems happy to see me but not like she was deprived of love for a few days. As long as I live in the area, Paws Pet Resorts will be my go-to kennel. read more

I wanted to update our review, We still think this place is AWESOME! Our little one still goes to daycare regularly, however he does not go alone, 8 months ago we adopted his little brother from the Paws Pet Resort Rescue, They love it and are worn out for two days after they come home from playing. We have used the daycare, boarding, the nail clipping and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them! In fact I do all the time. Its easy and hassle to check in every time because they remember you, The staff is wonderful and our dogs love everyone in there! Thanks again! read more

My parents take their puppy here all the time and can't stop raving about it. I've taken their dog there a couple times and I'm always so surprised at how friendly their staff is and how they recognize the dog right away. I'm sure they see tons of dogs walk through their doors and their ability to recall them even without the proper owner there is incredibly impressive. I've been a happy customer of both Paws for almost a decade now. I couldn't imagine not having them in our lives. My yellow lab is almost 10 and they've been baby sitters when I traveled, cardio weekends when Brody gets fat and physiological therapy after his ACL surgery. I'm never worried when I leave Brody there and it's great to be able to watch him playing on my phone from anywhere in the world. In fact, you have to be careful or you'll be sitting on your vacation beach, watching your dog play via their website (which streams flawlessly). I've been guilty of this several times. Brody is very good about letting me know what he likes and what he doesn't and he's a 2 year old puppy again every time we get near that place. Tail starts up and he becomes very vocal, it's cute AF. Paws has made dog ownership much easier for me and for that I'll be forever grateful. read more

Paws does not have the sense of decency to inform their clients that their dogs have exposed to canine influenza. Thus, allowing many dogs to get extremely ill. Veterinary hospitals in the area are full of sick dogs due to this irresponsible behavior. Do not trust your pets with this place. $10K later and we're not sure our dog will survive. Exposed to the flu there last Thursday. read more

The staff here is nice, however I don't personally recommend this daycare because I feel they provide the minimal acceptable care for the dogs. They put a bunch of dogs in a crowded room all day long with no enrichment activities or nap . I took my 5 month old puppy here and asked them to make sure he naps (all dog owners know that puppies need to nap and will not not nap on their own if surrounded by other dogs!). They said ok and I checked the webcam once every 30min all day. I always saw him in the webcam which means he didn't take any naps. When watching him and the other dogs, the dogs don't really play with each other (at least on the small dog side). They just sit around, follow the sitter, walk around aimlessly, etc. I don't know how anyone would think that's fun for a dog. My pup was exhausted and would pass out when he got home from here but it's NOT because he had fun. It's because he didn't get any naptime from being surrounded by a bunch of dogs all day. I'm sure this type of daycare works for some dogs, but not mine. read more

Amazing staff and establishment. Took my 3 month old puppy here and Seth was an amazing trainer, Grant was beyond helpful, and the staff made us feel at home. I've used other establishments in the past and had great experiences, but Paws Pet Resort set a new standard and now our favorite place. I recently moved to the area - so after living in my previous place for six years I had a pretty big list I needed to check off, so groomers, vet and doggie daycare were right at the top. I can now say this was one of the last one of those three to be checked off!!!! My three year old pup comes to work with me every day, so I'm very lucky, (or she's very lucky) so I use doggie day care to keep her dog social skills fine tuned. When PPR was referred to me and it is less than a mile from my home I thought win, win. I dropped her off yesterday, 2/26/2022 and was so impressed with the kindness of the staff at the front desk. The place was clean and all their clients seemed happy to be there. They took Maggie right back and she followed them with tail wagging. I did explain that due to the fact Maggie comes with me to the office everyday she can be a bit more clinging toward the humans vs dogs, and when she went to her last doggie day care the first time she hung at the gate all day just waiting for me.... I left with confidence she was in good hands. I returned four hours later, and was greeted by the same confident and pleasant staff. They gave me a tour of the facility and even gave me multiple vet suggestions. Then they brought out Maggie. Who of course was excited to see me. But before leaving, she had to go to all of the staff and say good-bye. Which they all gave glowing reviews on her. It's such a relief to find a place where she can go and be well taken care of and will be able to be with dogs her size in a controlled environment for safety purposes. And I know she played hard, because when she got home she passed out and then ate a really good dinner!!! read more

Update 4/5.... After a recent talk with the Chris today she was very disappointed in how their staff reacted to our request for information. She did assure us that this type of response isn't tolerated. My wife & I aren't people that like to do bad reviews, but we think Paws Pet Resort was truly sorry for the non-response that we received and we hope this can be a learning experience for all moving forward. *********************************** Over the weekend of March 25th through March 28th we did a 3 night boarding stay for our dog Snickers. This wasn't anything new for us since we've used Paws Pet Resort in Lake Forest CA many times for boarding or day care. This particular weekend was different when we did pick Snickers up, right way we noticed that she wasn't very active to come towards us when we did pick her up. The person said she had been playing a lot and was exhausted. Long story short when we got home that evening she wasn't eating or drinking and even the next day was the same. Called Paws Pet Resort that Tuesday to find out how much she had been eating of the 3 1/2 cups of food we gave them. No return call until Thursday by that time we had taken Snickers to the Vet. Christian at Paws Pet Resort called Thursday and didn't have any information on what she had eaten or drank, but would get back to us which never happen. Our whole problem is yes from a distance Paws Pet Resort may look nice, but be aware if you need information on how your pet ate or drank well at Paws Pet Resort. As for Snickers she passed away the following weekend April 2nd. We're not saying it was Paws Pet Resorts fault, but some information back from them would maybe have put some pieces together for us. read more

My dog Blondie loves Paws Pet Resorts and so do I. Blondie is a puppy so I originally brought her in for doggie daycare to help get her used to being around other dogs. Socializing her is going well as this last time I picked her up after boarding her for a week, she ran right up to the statue of the German Shepherd in the lobby and started sniffing, fearless as can be. Once she realized it wasn't a real dog she ran off but it shows me that she's not afraid of other dogs like she was before. Mission accomplished. I love how you can watch your dog play on the webcams. Great for when you are traveling and you miss your dog. Getting to see her run around and play while I was all the way in Hawaii put a smile on my face. Blondie is a bit camera shy so a few times I watched and I wasn't seeing her. I called and asked about her and the staff is great! They told me how everything was going and even put her on cam for me so that I could see my little baby. It really put me at ease about my first time being away from her. Paws Pet Resorts is now our boarding/doggie day care place of choice. read more

Paws Pet Resort is awesome! Whenever we go out of town, we can depend on Paws to take really good care of our dog Spock. For $45 for an overnight stay, our dog can participate in Doggy Day Camp, where large & small dogs are separated into different play areas - best part is that you can watch your dog play online via Paw's live video feed. It's great seeing him have a good time. At night time, they give Spock his own room with a TV. They also say they give the dogs frequent walks during the day, the last one at 10pm before sleeping. Their salon is also convenient so that I can arrange for him to get a bath before pick-up, and even get his nails trimmed. To avoid extra fees I provide Paws with Spock's food & treats. This is better for him since new foods tend to give him diarrhea. I can have a guilt-free good time away from home, knowing my dog is being cared for by a great staff. It's especially nice bringing him home all pooped out, with all that high energy finally drained for once =) read more

Saw some bad reviews here and just wanted to say that our puppy, now 1 year old, still loves it at Paws. She's been boarded a couple of times without any incident and the staff have been supppper helpful and accommodating with our schedule. Someone mentioned that they never got their food containers back. We've left stuff or accidentally not been given all our stuff back as well. However, even when I've forgotten about my dogs things, they always have it out to return to me at the next visit. I can't say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it! read more

Such a fan of this place, as are my dogs (and let's face it, they're the *real* critics!). I took advantage of their "new members free" coupon about a year ago. I was happy to see that promotion was extended to BOTH of my dogs, not just one, which was awesome. I paid to have them bathed and it was great to see my dogs happy and clean when I picked them up. I didn't have a need for daycare but always kept Paws in the back of my mind. Well, now we're moving, and painting is being done, so for the last three days they've been back in daycare. This place is still great. By day two they knew my dogs by name. My dogs like all the staff there, and if ever I have a concern all I have to do is pop online and watch my dogs play through the webcam. Let me tell you what, work has been slow and I'm spending quite a bit of time on that webcam and not once have I seen a fight. I love this place for a few key reasons which I want to pinpoint. ~No breed restrictions. Any dogs are allowed for overnight boarding and daycare play is based on animal temperament and behavior, not breed. ~Great price! ~Dogs come home happy and tired. You can tell they've had fun. ~Dog Cam for immediate access to see what your pooch is up to and watch them enjoy themselves! ~Clean-up is constant and immediate. They use a pet-friendly all natural and green product which does no harm to humans or animals. ~They know your dogs by name and genuinely love the dogs and their job. I am admittedly very protective of my dog. He's like a child to me, so his safety and happiness is very important. I took him to Paws after having a very mediocre experience with another local dog hotel. My dog barks at other dogs on-leash, but has always been good about playing nicely off-leash. I was worried that they'd judge him or assume he was unsocialized if they saw him barking when we walked in the door. Instead, they assured me that it was normal and he played in the doggy daycare that day with no problems. It was such a relief and the workers couldn't have been kinder. I've since boarded my dog here on 2-3 separate occasions and I LOVE that I can watch him play on the webcam. It's really nice to know he's doing well throughout the day. I also take him to daycare about once a week, so that he can play with other dogs and make some friends. By the second time we visited, the workers all knew my dog by name, which I found very impressive. My dog also comes home happy and very tired. It's great! I can't say enough about how happy I am that we found this place, and how nice the people who work here are. read more

This is the doggie boarding that everyone should model after. We have brought our dogs here for 2 years+ before moving to Nor Cal. We had a vacation in So Cal and decided to bring our dogs back for 3 nights of boarding. As always, Paws did a fantastic job with our doggies. Just as in the past, our doggies came out happy and settled and content, unlike the Nor Cal day care where they always came out stressed and anxious. Paws let's dogs be dogs. The Paws team let's the dogs play and interact like dogs should. Everyone is so courteous and helpful and reassuring. We know they will follow the instructions we give but also give our doggies extra love and attention. The Lake Forest team is managed by Christian and he is fantastic. He is kind and compassionate and listens to everything we need for our dogs and we know he makes it happen. The whole crew is great there, Grant, KC, everyone who I am not naming. My in-laws have their doggie stay in the San Clemente location and she always says the same about the staff there. Check out PAWS. Your doggies will be so happy. The store injure by dog while cutting my dog. This is what happen, I take my dog in at 10 am. I called at 1 pm and they said is not ready. It is tangled and they are brushing it. At 2 pm, I called it again and it is ready to pick up. As I enter the store I can't believe what they have done. They cut it all off bold and naked. The reason they gave me is because it is too tangled and they need to cut it all off. That is not yet, my dog is so afraid. They said my dog is bites, moving too much. They make a hole on my dog chest. They said they just put bandage on and it will be fine. My dog is about 1 year and little more Maltese. It won't bite, my dog is super nice. I don't know why they should call me before making this decision. The manager, Grant, came out with my dog and said he move too much and unable to make the design I wanted. They can't do it and offer me to go some other place to do design next time. I was furious and said what the hell happen. The only reason they said it is professional decision to cut its all off because it too tangle. It is BS reason for giving my dog this hair cut. Second it injure and make an hole in the middle of my dog chest. All they can said is put a bandage on. While I was arguing, they decide said and offer no charge this time and offer take my dog to vet of their choice and not let me go. I don't know why? Maybe they do nothing to it and return my dog. I was super furious, I DO NOT TRUST them taking my dog again. I said no way, why I can't take to my own vet and you guys pay for the medical. Grant went in and call it again. By back and forth conversation, to me they said it is no charge already, what else you want. Are you kidding me, this is the service they provide and injure my dog. I can't believe. I take my dog to vet and they stitch my dog up. they paid for it. I fear this is my baby dog, I want to everyone to know about thus. this situation. Be aware of this store. Our dog was in the two week "Stay n' Train" session. At the end of the session there is supposed to be another hour of training with the owner and dog. The two week session was comprised of the following training. Dog School Basic One (Ages 5 months and up) -- $150 Dogs will learn basic manners and be introduced to basic obedience. Touch, sit, down, stay, and recall will be taught. Loose leas walking and eye contact will be introduced. Humans will be taught positive training techniques and learn management and handling skills. Dog School Basic Two -- $150 Dogs will be reinforced in basic manners and obedience. Basic One cues will be reinforced. "Go to mat" and "Leave it" will be taught. Loose leash walking and eye contact will be reinforced. Humans will learn advanced management and handling skills. Dog School Leash Skills -- $150 Dogs will learn to follow humans without pulling. Humans will be taught advanced leash-handling skills and learn why dogs pull. This class is a lot of fun, educational, and will help save your arm and sanity! Iron Leash Skills, Recall Skills, Leash Reactivity and Addressing Issues. When I picked up my dog, it was impossible to tell that he had one iota of training. As for the extra hour of training with the owner and dog, I was told the trainer was on vacation and would contact me when he returned. No one ever contacted me. I think he was on vacation for the entire two weeks my dog was there. read more

I have only had the opportunity to board my girls here once, but it was a great experience nonetheless. I was a little worried about leaving them in a day care setting, as although they are non-aggressive, they have never been to fond of other dogs while leashed. The owner assured me that if they were too nervous, they would just take them on a walk 3 times a day. Fortunately, I had nothing to fear and my girls had a great time in daycare/boarding. I was also happy to know that the facility was able to accommodate feeding my girls their raw food diet. I know Petsmart has this weird phobia of feeding dogs raw food while they are being boarded....probably because they want customers to feed their cheap kibble instead. I loved that I was able to go on my computer while on vacation and see a video of how my girls were doing. I really enjoyed watching them interacting with other dogs. Plus, their boarding facility was fantastic. It was clean and spacious and my girls were able to stay together. I will definitely be using these guys again if I ever need to board my girls. read more

Picked up my dogs after a week of boarding and my Lhasa Apso came home with bronchitis. Quite obvious with her hacking coughing. I know dogs get sick in boarding, but they didn't even say anything when I picked her up. They let me leave as if nothing was wrong. I even called to check in while they were there to see if everything was OK and they said they were fine. I then called the next day to let them know because she was contagious and had to leave a message. I left a detailed message about how sick my Lhasa was and no one called me back. They didn't care about my dog or the dogs that were currently boarding. Once kennel cough starts it spreads fast. Because my dog was untreated, she developed bronchitis. Update: The owner, Chris, did call me back. She was concerned and apologetic. She also gave me a refund, which helped with the vet bill. read more
