Injured Gerbil, huge laceration on the back.

I went with my kids to look at their Axolotls, surprisingly they were kept in the tiny Betta cups swimming in their own excrement but that wasn't even the beginning. We decided to look at their small pet room, but upon looking we saw a gerbil in a small enclosure with over 20 others that had had a deep gash along its back. I took pictures to send to a rescue I volunteer for and told an employee. She went and grabbed it by the tail and put it in the back. An hour or so later I was so bothered by it I came back to buy it so the rescue to get it medical care. The employee there looked at me like I was a crazy person when I said I wanted to buy it to take it to a rescue. He looked in the back and it wasn't there, then my stomach turned when I saw him look at the snake enclosures. I could tell right then what had happened. They told me they had sold it as a feeder but I'm pretty sure they just gave it to the big snake. Another employee told me this was standard practice that when they have any injured small animals they end up as feeder food. Absolutely horrendous.

    I love this place!

My first visit to this place was today and I loved it. Nice, friendly, helpful staff. Great selection of animals, lots of different types to choose from. Excellent assortment of supplies for all different types of mammals, reptiles and fish too. Very clean store and animals are well kept, healthy.

My sister with the amazingly sweet cockatoo!

Good selection. Employees weren't very helpful though. If more attentive, they could have probably talked us into buying a pet :)

They take him and almost all the staff shows up when he arrives. He gets tons of play time and fun with the other dogs. This time we booked him but we're unable to get a bath time on release BUT!! They were usually fine--especially with our dog--so we trusted them. But this last time, we left our cat there while we were in Europe for 17 days. When I picked her up, I knew immediately something was horribly wrong. She looked like a shell of herself. She had shrunk down to the size of a kitten, limp in my arms, not moving. I took her straight to the vet. The diagnosis: full kidney failure, extreme dehydration, infection levels through the roof. Four days later, I had to put her down. I can't even explain the pain of that. She was part of our family. She trusted us. I trusted them. And they failed her. When I asked the staff what happened, they told me they had video of her walking around, like everything was normal. That's not what I brought home. No one noticed she wasn't eating or drinking. No one noticed she wasn't okay. They didn't care enough to pay attention, and because of that, she died. The vet told me this might've been preventable if someone had just acted sooner. That thought haunts me. I miss her so much. I still can't believe this happened. I will never bring another pet here again. I don't even know if I'm done dealing with this legally. I just know I'll never get her back. Pet owners--please be careful. Don't make the same mistake I did. (I'm sharing photos from the day we said goodbye, and of her ashes. This is real. This happened.)

The staff does an incredible job caring for and watching over our dogs--they truly take pride in what they do. We've tried other doggie daycares in the past, and this one has been by far the best. Our pups are naturally very nervous and not big fans of people, but the team here has consistently gone above and beyond to build trust with them. Because of that patience and care, our dogs now look forward to their camp days, and we love being able to see them playing on the cameras. I feel completely comfortable recommending this place as a safe and caring environment for your pup. I know how difficult it can be to leave your babies in someone else's care, and this team truly puts our minds at ease. We genuinely enjoy this place and will continue to use their services.

I'm a bit iffy on this place. Why? So I have been to a few of the daycares around town. There's a…read moreparticular style of daycare that I don't find to be very stimulating for dogs and this place kind of fits that format. While it is convenient for me, when I watch the cameras, it looks like the dogs are just wandering around like zombies. Usually other daycares have more interaction with staff. There's maybe one staff member to like 15 or 20 dogs. The other thing is I'm not entirely sure they actually understand dog behavior. Because a lot of the dogs are restless and have zero structure, they don't have great socializing manners. My dog is an intelligent breed who will correct dogs who are rude or in his face and it gets tiring for him if he's doing that more than the staff. So when they told me that they had put him away because he was air nipping at dogs, that was strange. I've never had a report of him having behavior issues. Now if they had told me he seemed tired and needed to be to decompressed, that's fine. Maybe it was the staff's wording. And why she needed to report it to me I don't know because that's just a normal part of daycare and dog behavior. So after reading the reviews I did see instances in which dogs that are being aggressive to begin with or annoying aren't being corrected and then when the dog goes to correct them, which is dog etiquette, the dog who asserts boundaries to protect themselves gets punished? That to me shows a lack of understanding about dog behavior. I've watched the webcams at other daycares, and staff know how to separate dogs or to keep things from escalating and know when it's appropriate to put a dog away in a crate for a little time without making the dog feel bad or without making the owner think there's some big issue. I'm trying to gauge whether he actually likes going here. He comes home tired but not looking happy. And whenever we go there in the morning, he tends to whine, which he doesn't do at the other locations we've been. So this one will probably start getting rotated out of his daycare choices for the week. But on the positive side, I do like that they have a little events for the dogs or special treats and get your permission. I just don't feel very confident that it's anything more than just like a room full of dogs all walking around in circles. Like at least interact with them a little bit? Maybe add another counselor or two per group? Make me feel like everybody is taking classes about dog behavior and understand different dog breeds and how dogs are meant to interact? Also the webcam never seems to work very well. I'll watch on the phone or don't even try to watch on the laptop and it goes in and out but at least they have a webcam because barx parx doesn't. And there may be people and dogs who love this place or love the locations in other parts of Las Vegas but for intelligent breeds, I just don't think this place is very stimulating or matches well with his needs. Maybe this is just what happens when you take a bunch of dogs regardless of personality and throw them in together. Dogs have different play styles and some dogs are annoying to other dogs. But here, it just feels like a major free-for-all. The staff are mostly friendly, but maybe also communicating different things to the dog owners in a different way would have probably avoided me feeling less confident about this place because now I'm worried about who my dog is with during the day. If you don't know dogs, that's kind of concerning.... And I'm not seeing anything in my experience or my dog's reactions or through the webcam that makes me feel confident... And with that many dogs per one counselor, I can see where it would be easy for a dog to get hurt.
