Why only Five Stars? Pazzi Di Pizza in Park Ridge, located next door to the fabulous Pickwick Theater, was an amazing choice for a birthday dinner. Just the two of us on a Monday night when many restaurants are closed, we arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated. Each person who 'greeted' us had a big smile and a welcoming tone helping to set the mood in a positive way. Our server was Patrick who arrived once we were settled and we placed our drink order. My partner ordered a Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio, which she truly enjoyed, and for me, well, Jamesons is Jamesons and I'm always happy when my friend John Jameson joins me and especially when it's a healthy pour. As an appetizer we ordered the Grigliata Mista which hosts grilled Calamari, Octopus and Roasted Red Peppers with a Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. Check out the photos, it was like a meal onto itself. The chef has Octopus down to an art. Soft, melt in your mouth with a fabulous 'grilled' accent. The Calamari was also done perfectly. soft with Just the right crunch, not tough and I'm not sure I'll ever order any other of their Antipasti moving forward. A great start to the meal. For entrees my partner, who has dined here with friends several times before, and being a huge eggplant fan, always has ordered the Involtini di Melanzana. Lightly breaded Eggplant Rolls Stuffed with Fresh Ricotta and Topped with Marinara with a side of Crostini. I tried a taste and knew exactly why it's her go to dish. Yes, it's on the Antipasti portion of the menu but she brought home enough for dinner tonight. I ordered from the Pasta portion of the menu and went right to the seafood medley, Zuppa di Pesce. Mussels, Clams, Shrimp and Calamari over Linguine. I ordered with the Garlic and Oil 'sauce'. The 3 Shrimp were 3-bite large and done to perfection. The Mussels were plentiful; the clams tender and the Calamari was delicious. Again, check out my photos. I've ordered this at many restaurants and never taken any home but, I too, have dinner tonight. As an aside, I watched a few of their Pizzas be delivered to nearby tables and as a New York Pizza Snob I will have to give them a try soon, they looked 'just right'... read more

Great place for drinks and pizza. The lychee spritz was very flavorful and refreshing-something unique vs the standard spritz. I liked that when you walk in, you can see pizza oven. The pizza was tasty and delightful. You can definitely tell that they use quality and fresh ingredients. I wish the place was little more colorful or had more of an ambiance. It is little standard and the bar area was the only focus point with something interesting. Our server was beyond amazing. Very attentive, friendly and accommodating. Overall, I would give 5 stars but the only hiccup that we had was that when we walked in and asked to sit outside, we were told that we can't even though people were sitting outside. Came with a friend to grab a quick dinner and was served ice cold pasta with cold shredded cheese on top. We were starved so we ate it, but won't be back. Might as well have just eaten leftovers out my fridge. Guess the food is only phenomenal if you're a Park Ridge elite or know somebody. Wish I could say I had a better experience. This is one of my husband and I repeat places we go to for either a quick date or a day to walk around Downtown Park Ridge. They start you off with a complimentary fresh out of the oven bread - one of my faves. Everything we order here tastes really good, a little bigger serving to a standard dinner plate. The only problem this time was there were some mussels on the pasta that really smelled and tasted so bad, thus my 4 stars. Other than that everything is still good to our liking. Their pizzas are very good too coming from someone who's not a fan of pizzas. Drinks are pretty pricey. Service is phenomenal! I suggest making reservations specially for a weekend dinner plan. They only take reservations over the phone, but the place is always busy so it's better to call. Both times I've been here, I've been seated at the dining area closer to where the bar is. There are high top and standard tables, which I think are very close to each other. On my visits, I've tried: CHOPPED SALAD- fresh and good EGGPLANT PARMESAN- satisfying CHICKEN MARSALA- the chicken was delicious but the potatoes were a tad overcooked CHICKEN PARMESAN- this fell flat. The chicken was just not good but the pasta was cooked right. The sauce was a little bland as well. BUCATINI AMATRICIANA (w/ extra meatballs)- I liked the sauce on this dish and the meatballs were great BRACIOLE CON RIGATONI- excellent dish CHOCOLATE CAKE- moist cake and sinfully good Overall, I like this place in downtown Park Ridge. It's vibrant, neat, and the food is good. Service is average but the place was very busy on both times I was here, so it was understandable. Delicious birthday dinner! My partner made reservations and we enjoyed a yummy Italian dinner. We ordered calamari as our appetizer. I ate the vodka pasta and he had the eggplant Parmesan. Dinner was so delicious. Pazzi has really great service as well. Busy atmosphere but lots of waitstaff ready to help! Our drinks (not pictured) were delicious, I recommend the red sangria! Went here for dinner and it was our first time. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our table was nestled into a small corner area. Fresh baked warm bread and waters were brought to the table quickly. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband an old fashion. We had the arancini as a starter. It looked delicious, however, when I cut into it the cheese wasn't melted and it was very cold. It took us while to flag someone down to get it corrected. Once we received it back I received the same one that I had cut in half and it appeared that it had been placed into the oven when it was originally fried. This made the outer breaded area slightly softer than it should have been. For our main course I ordered the mussels, clams, and calamari with linguini. The past was cooked to perfect al dente. It was flavorful. My husband ordered the steak which was served with fries and asparagus. The asparagus was over cooked, but the steak was cooked to his liking. It was my birthday and we opted to order a dessert. The dessert we ordered they were out of. Nice quiet atmosphere. Alex was out server & he was terrific! Table order of fried calamari. VERDICT: OUTSTANDING. Crunchy but soft on inside. Not chewy. Breading seasoned beautifully. Chickens: marsala, francese and parmigiana ALL were amazing! My Marsala was too much and brought it home. I ate it for dinner. Parmesan was in a sweet sauce and it was fab. The Francese, I was told was incredibly good and a nice piece of chicken. Arugula and prosciutto 10" was sooooo good. Fresh and the crust was similar to Spacca Napoli. Thats a HUGE compliment. The food, customer service, and ambiance are amazing here. We sat outdoors during a chilly, summer evening and it was amazing. Perfect for a glass of wine. The complimentary plain bread is great but the sesame seeds bread, not so much. It was too much sesame seeds for me. The chicken Marsala and chicken parmesan were both delicious and flavorful. Pizza was great and it was crispy, and cheese was melted to perfection. It's a nice compliment that they bring fresh bread to the table. Great drink menu as well, be prepared to spend some good money since drinks are not cheap but great quality. The chopped salad is a huge portion but you are able to split it between two people just ask the waiter/waitress. We had the Penne Arrabbiata pasta let me start to tell you it was the correct amount of spicy, great sauce, and enough for two people. We were told about this place by a friend, but compared to other Italian resturants, it wasn't spectacular. We had the gnocchi with vodka sauce, it was very good. My husband hahad the chicken parm and didn't care for it, it was flat and didn't have a lot of flavor, maybe over cooked. The service was good, it was crowded and tight in the dinning room. I love this place and my mom and I have been coming here since they opened! When you walk in, you can tell the place is pretty big. There is a bar in the back area of the restaurant, and there is a bunch of seating in the main room where you walk in, as well. They have a mix of booths and tables and chairs. My family and I usually come here for lunch (I don't think I have ever been here for dinner) and they have great lunch specials from Wednesday-Saturdays with even greater prices. For $13, you can choose your own two-course meal of either a panini, 10" woodfire pizza, or pasta AND your choice of a soup or salad. It's so worth it, and it actually used to be $12 for this lunch special, but it did go up within the past year. Still so worth it because they also give you bread for the table and will continuously give you more if you want more. I almost always get the Pasta Arrabiatta with their soup of the day, and my mom loves their pizza and/or the steak sandwich here called the Rustica Panini (which is $2 more than the regular lunch special). When it's warmer outside, they also have some outdoor seating on their small patio, and it's a relaxing atmosphere, though the intersection of Prospect and NW Highway does get busy depending on the time of day. Parking can also be a big pain depending on the day because even though there seems like there is plenty of parking, it gets extremely busy over here for lunch, and sometimes it takes a long time to find a spot. We have never had bad service here before, and everyone is so nice and basically knows us now that we have been coming for a while, and the place has always been so clean. Overall, I highly recommend coming here, even if it's just for lunch! Their sangria is deliciously sweet, and they also have some other wine, beer, and cocktail options. While I recognize that Saturday night at 7:30 is a busy time-I had called several days in advance to make special reservations for two very special birthdays-my oldest son and my husband. My husband dropped myself and my younger son off at front and met my oldest son and girlfriend in town specially to look at houses. This restaurant HAD NOWHERE to sit -no rhyme or reason to anything. About 50 people crowded around hostess/manager desk. We waited 40 minutes for the table and another 40 for the food after we ordered. Nothing special done for the birthdays-WORST management ever. The music here is excessively loud--if you want to risk losing your voice, this is the spot for you. It's also quite harsh on the ears. The waitresses can be rude, and the manager exhibits an arrogant attitude with no tolerance for customer feedback, I believe her name was Juliana and if you make any comments about the food, they take it personal and start insulting you so if you dislike a dish or request a change, be prepared for a confrontation with someone from the kitchen. We came to Park Ridge to catch a movie at the Pick Wick. So we decided to have dinner at Pazzi DI Pizza. The place was busy, nice ambiance, and good service. But the food was very bland. We had the bruschetta as an appetizer, I ordered the vodka rigatoni and my husband had one of the pizza. The bruschetta and pizza had no flavor. How is that even possible?
