Located a little to the side of the heart of Fremont, this location which is located on the corner is a clutch spot for quick bites, for lunch, and honestly just to browse around. I've been coming here for a few years now and then I left the city but whenever I do come back, I make sure to make a pit stop here. Why? Work is right next door to it. So that helps. But also, I feel like the veggies and fruits here are fresh, crisp, and tastier than other places. However... I do feel like prices are a bit higher than last time I was here a couple of months ago. They have parking in the back. It's small and getting in and out alive is a miracle each time. But it exist. If you elect to park on the street, parking enforcement is out everywhere and so be weary. I like their hot bar and salad bar. Always a rotation of items that keeps it busy interesting over time. What I don't think they are good for is snacks. Sometimes I just want something simple and not healthy and this place ain't it. I think this place is better for medium size shops. read more

Walking around Fremont wondering what to eat and came across this gem. Many delicious options in the hot and salad bar. They also have pizza by the slice. The water dispenser for water bottles had the highest pressure that I've seen one had, which was cool. Chocolate chip cookies have the classic homemade taste to them. If I could live in a PCC co/op I would. Imagine waking up to the smell of fresh produce and in store made food? Surrounded by smells of lavender and lemon balm? My lunch today is my favorite vegan pesto pizza in which the crust has the best crunch. The olives and artichokes provide a nice balance to the nutty puréed sauce. I love the emerald salad and farro and blueberry salad. My gut and insides always feel clean after eating this. Steph's tofu is my go to and it's a nice balance of seasonings and flavor. If I close my eyes I don't imagine it being vegetation. Lastly, I'm drinking a dram brand sparkling water with lavender. In a city in which vegetarian options are skyrocketing, this was only $21. Quality, quality and quality every time at PCC. Service is always exceptional. I apologize for sounding judgy but some Safeway and QFC stores are dirty, they may smell, and the quality of food "for higher prices" is sub par. Some staff at these stores seem really overworked and not content. At PCC, staff look like they want to be here and are always happy to help. Great job PCC. read more

The produce was good, but not everything was peak ripeness; probably the weakness is they want to have all the selection of produce stocked, even if it's not really ideal quality. Convenient grocery co-op with excellent operating hours, especially for out-of-towners needing to grab items we forgot to pack, right in the heart of the Fremont neighborhood. Easily navigable, with competitive prices, helpful employees, fresh produce, and a wide selection of just about anything you can think of. My wife and I stopped in multiple times for things to stock up our hotel room, usually in the early morning, or late at night, and were thankful for its variety of goods, and convenience of its location and its extended operating hours. read more

Love supporting the co-op and overall this is a great store! I appreciate that members get a deal of the week. Prices at PPCs are a bit steep even for organic/co-op prices. They do have everything you need there, though. I haven't been overly impressed with the vegetarian pre-made deli food--it seems to lack seasoning most of the time. I also don't like that they wrap egg cartons in rubber bands, feels wasteful. PCC is definitely still a go-to for me though and I'm proud to be a member! read more

Stopped by here for a late dinner on Sunday with the family after snowboarding. Originally, we were supposed to buy ingredients to cook dinner but stopped by the hot foods and decided we'd buy dinner instead since we were so tired. Food was delicious but was shocked with the price tag being around $80 for 3 big boxes, 1 small box, and small soup. This store reminds me of Whole Foods back at home but more expensive and with higher quality food. Staff were friendly and helpful. read more

I've been a PCC member for a decade and it has been great as I support slow food. They are the largest consumer-owned food cooperative in the US. They focus on sourcing quality, local produce and they have "quiet hours" on Sundays from 8am to 9am at all locations. I feel seen and heard as I am unable to function well when I'm in a crowded or noisy place. My favorite things to shop for include local microgreens, wild, foraged mushrooms, heirloom tomatoes and wild meats for my dog who enjoys wild boar, venison and bison meatballs. I cook his meals from scratch and focus on starting with quality ingredients. read more

Like most any PCC, the staff are friendly, the service helpful and efficient, the food and presentation enticing, and the lines bustling at lunchtime. This one feels a little older, yet still invites the lunch hour crowds for bulk lunches and limited seating indoors. I am so blessed I have been able to come here regularly to get my organic food as well as food from a more attractive and varied salad & buffet bar. The people are great- so kind and knowledgeable. I recall telling a department manager that when I am well from a little health issue that I was coming to work here--at the time I was in major waiting time re how the health would progress so I thought "oh in a year or so". Wow. I'm in this store at least twice a week. I know many of the staff here and have never had a problem. But tonight, I'm actually quite frustrated and just straight up pissed. While shopping in store and trying to console my one year old that I had in tow, one of the employees cruised over and very rudely suggested that "he should really have a mask on". Oof. I've been so, so hesitant to post this review, because up until a few weeks ago, my partner and I would joke that PCC would soon take all of our money due to the fact that we loved going for hot food, deli options, and overall yumminess on a regular occasion. We might've jinxed ourselves, as instead of making us go broke, we experienced the most violent food poisoning either of us has ever experienced from sandwiches in their deli section. As per usual, on Sunday, 4/25/21, we picked up sandwiches (bacon, turkey, avocado paninis) prior to our day of hiking. This was our first meal of the day at the top of the summit, and I kid you not, within 30 minutes of ingestion, my partner was violently ill for over 8 hours. I thought I was saved from the food poisoning hell, but unfortunately, I too succumbed less than 48 hours later and had the worst food poisoning experience of my life. The real reason for my review is that while I understand accidents happen and we take a risk whenever we eat out, I really wasn't impressed nor did I feel that PCC really cared when I called to inform them on 4/25/21 that my partner was ill after eating their sandwich and spoke to their deli manager, who said nothing but "thanks" and hung up the phone. The final catalyst for me posting this review was reading a news release (https://www.doh.wa.gov/Newsroom/Articles/ID/2787/State-health-officials-link-yogurt-to-multi-county-E-coli-outbreak) which linked multiple cases of E. coli to PCC Community Market brand yogurt. Needless to say, PCC prices aren't cheap, we expect quality food when spending money here, and sadly, we haven't and don't plan to step back into a PCC anytime soon. Do better, PCC. :-( read more

I am a huge PCC fan, and this location does the job but it is a bit lacking in comparison to other locations I've been to. The overall selection and variety is smaller in all departments. Since this probably caters to the tech crowd due to all the tech businesses nearby, they do have a lot of prepared foods readily available by one of the exits. However even then, I feel like the selection on that is smaller than other PCCs (most notably the Ballard location). The produce and butcher/ seafood sections are the areas that hurt the most for me. Everything is still high quality and generally it is well stocked, but sometimes random things will be emptied on a week day night. This is especially true of pre-cut vegetables, such as squash (I'm too weak to cut by myself!). They tend to have all the meats you might be looking for, but they don't have as many options for marinated or pre-seasoned meat, which I like to do when I'm lazy. Also yes, everything is pricey compared to a "standard" grocery store, but they only sell all-natural products here. Most of the produce is organic and the meat is high quality. You pay for what you get, and for what they sell, the prices are as expected. I think the value on the prepared foods are even better. Other similar grocery stores that don't guarantee the quality of the food charge similar prices. In general, I prefer to go to the Ballard location since it has more of what I am looking for, but this location is a great option for every day grocery shopping. I often do need to be flexible with what ingredients I need to buy for my meal though. read more

It's pricey, sure - but this is the place I go to if I missed the farmer's market or don't want to trek out. I mainly come for their selection of seasonal, interesting local produce. Occasionally I'll grab a bottled drink here too. Love this PCC. Itrls real near work so I'm here a lot. They have a great selection of raw and cooked dishes ready to go. I do wish they would label the vegan and vegetarian better. Reviewer 100! PCC is the centerpiece of the Fremont neighborhood. There are no big supermarket chains in the area, except PCC and I think the community likes it that way. I think if someone else came in, the vibe of Fremont would be different. Out of the few PCC locations that I have visited, I have to say this one is my favorite. It is spacious and conveniently located. They have self checkouts! The produce and meat selection is of great quality. So are the deli and baked goods. The pricing is a bit high, which is expected due to the high quality. This is a natural foods place after all. Being the only grocer in the neighborhood, I like that their selection appeals to the masses, but also appeals to the conscientious shopper. For instance, they sell chocolate, but not of the M&Ms variety. Has a similar vibe to Metropolitan Market which focuses on offering quality products with a highlight towards locally produced items. PCC is a great place to shop in Fremont. I can't imagine the community without this place. It is the meeting place of the neighborhood. If Fremont is the center of the universe, PCC is the center of the center of the universe. read more

Awesome store. Pretty standard for my needs and so I'm usually in-and-out within minutes. I'd say the selection is on par with the rest and more due to its size (bookmark the future giant PCC to open in Columbia City approx. 2015!). The chips array is gosh darn awesome, cool cereal, they have varieties of chai (concentrate and brewing) and the hot food section is awesome - I grabbed a box of the Tofu Ginger Broccoli with rice and yum-in-my-tum! Other items, cold bar and salad bar looked pretty tasty, as well, but the TGB yanked my hunger. Location is probably one of the more tedious ones. The free garage is totally great but I don't recommend large vehicles in there. read more

When I think of healthy living, it starts with a store. PCC is that store! One of the benefits of living in the NW, is the constant focus on healthy living. It's one of things we miss now that we have moved to the Phoenix area. We came back last summer and this was one of our first stops. Or, maybe it was just to get the buzz of the Fremont area which we loved and miss. For us, PCC has all the right foods choices. Milk and meats without any antibiotics hormones. Wow! Some legit grocery store hot-and-ready food. The pizzas are divine, and the soups taste fresh. Beware! The lady managing the self-serve area (a.k.a. Parmesan cheese/crushed red pepper shaker Nazi) will come looking for you if you take it to your table or don't put it back! That's right! You put everything back where it belongs. Don't even think of hogging the parm shaker. She will get you. There was some sort of altercation with a man that was parked on the side of the store, and a bicycle rider right near the entrance. I still love the store, but now know to avoid the "falafel panini" in the deli section. It was bland and very bready and just... not that good. The only things working for it was that it only cost about $3.40 and that I was super hungry and almost didn't care what it tasted like. Whoever planned the "product placement" in the self check-out area is devious. They have us waiting next to a shopping cart filled with discontinued wines (on sale) and also a variety of small chocolates to choose from. I grabbed some lemony chocolate (by Jo's Candies) and it was quite good. The staff were helpful and around, which was pretty important. One of the self check-out machines kept needing "assistance" because it would "sense" some mysterious item on it after it printed your receipt (happened to me and the people who used it before me), so the staff kept having to scan their id's and clear the screen. read more

Love this market for the hot food bar and its ready-made food items. This is one of the first groceries stores I've shopped at, but it was at a location in Redmond and I don't remember it having the hot food bar. This one has these freshly made things that look like empanadas but they don't call them that. They are either stuffed with beef or a spicy sausage and they are definitely teedee-eff. They have a diverse selection of cheeses and olives, like a lot of places around here, that I like. There are a lot of vegetarian options, which makes no difference to me as long as it tastes good. If you're a chocolate lover, they have an attractive display of those fancy chocolates, like the ones made with bacon and eye of newt. This is a convenient stop for me from the gym and a place I can possibly chill if the bridge goes up. Weekend parking around this area is a joke, so I try to do my shopping on the weekdays. read more

I adore PCC. This one in Fremont is medium-sized. The selection is pretty much the same as other PCC's. The deli was being broken down so can't have an opinion on that, but it was good sized. Will have to come back and look around. If you have a kiddo with you, remember they get 1 free serving of fruit to snack on. PCC does this to help kids be introduced to more fruits and veggies, and it helps the parents shop too. There were slim pickings in the bakery when we were there on 9/17 at night so we went elsewhere for our sugar fix. They lock the south doors at 9 pm. read more

PCC = Paycheck Consumption Company Haaaaa, all jokes aside, I really do like PCC. Don't get me wrong, I won't EVER do grocery shopping here (the prices are astronomical), but if I need to pick up some food to go, they have some really stellar options. I love grabbing a salad (either from the salad bar or pre-made) and a pre-packaged meal that that I can just heat up when I get home. Throw a cookie in there, and it's about a $10 meal. I even get to check myself out at the self-pay kiosks. If I'm going for just a few things, like fancy cheese or a nice single-serving dessert (mmmmm pie), PCC is my first choice. And I would much rather go here than Whole Paycheck...Foods. Parking on the street or underground in a lot. This is great for the busy Fremont area! read more

And, maybe it's unfair, but how can you review a PCC and not compare it against other PCC stores in the area? The Fremont PCC is extra crowded and busy, particularly the Saturday afternoon that I stopped by. The deli is not quite as developed as other stores, I was a little disappointed to not see a Cubano sandwich offered. There's a whole bunch of great outdoor seating. The staff is pretty friendly. I'm not a fan of the self-service clerking. And, some of the selections is limited in comparison to my home PCC. C'mon Fremont you can do better. You're better than that. read more

Beware of aggressive panhandler at the west entrance who is a fixture, always there. Positions himself on the public access sidewalk directly in front of the entrance with his "private property." If offered a job instead of being given a hand out he will reply with a f%*# you follow you into the store and complain to the store manager who will tell you to ignore him. It's harassment and PCC management doesn't seem concerned to do anything about it. read more

This place is awesome! The freshest produce. Those were the crispest grapes I've ever eaten! The strawberries were sweet and juicy. Everything just tasted so fresh. The produce options aren't the most expansive in terms of selection since it is a small store, but what they do have is top notch! OMG, they had this cereal I could not find anywhere that I have been wanting to try for like a few months! Yay. Again, they don't shelf everything, but what they do have is the top of the line healthy snack items. Don't forget your healthy drinks! (Zevia, etc.) There is also a bakery with a very interesting selection of foods. Again, the top quality. There are delish looking cookies and cakes and other yummies. There is also a prepared foods section behind a glass case--again a mix of items. There is a hot food bar. Don't be thinking Whole Foods level because it is small. Although, they had a yummy looking tofu scramble and veggie hash. Lots of cheese...even cheese you can buy by weight in bins. Not to mention bins. There are a variety of granolas and basically an entire alcove devoted to the bins! And a pizza area. You will not find everything at PCC, but what you do find is top of the line high quality products at slightly high prices--along the lines and maybe a bit lower than Whole Foods (except those grapes...delicious but exorbitantly expensive)! read more

Visited PCC twice yesterday. In the morning, I picked up a blueberry scone. It was HUGE and looked dense, but it was actually quite light and soft on the inside. At night, I went over there again and picked up a salmon chowder. It was a bit salty, but it was so good - definitely had a good amount of salmon (no chunks though) and was flavorful. If you're on the go and need to pick some food up that's delicious and affordable, this is the place to go. read more

It's a little expensive but it has a good selection, and there's always new foods to try there, decent wine and beer selection too. I used to go in for lunch when I worked in the area and was never disappointed. The pizza is good and they have unusual options I haven't seen elsewhere. Aside from the expense, the only downside is the anti-GMO propaganda they participate in. During the COVID pandemic, anyone with a brain learned to trust the science and wear a mask and get vaccinated. Many of those people shop at PCC which pays no attention to science when it comes to the overwhelming scientific consensus that GMO food is safe. It's a passing fad of no real consequence and in 20 years nobody will remember what all the fuss was about, but it annoys me. read more

Now that I live in Fremont, I can properly review PCC since I shop here at least weekly. The staff is helpful and usually in a friendly mood. They just got brand new self-check out stations, I think there are 5, and its fun to do, but be patient, we are all still learning the quircks, including the staff. If you have coupons or something odd, go to the checker line and save a little trouble and time for everyone (not like I did today...oops!). I still like the bakery and the deli, the fish is pretty good although I still wish there was a little more space so they could fancy up their seafood area like Whole Foods does. I bought a Chinook book and they got some nice coupons in em. I often still go to Whole Foods to get my meat/seafood/poultry cuz its fresher and I can pick it and have em weigh exactly what I want and wrap it and send me on my way as opposed to being stuck with whatevers in the case at PCC - and possibly having to make them unwrap, resize, and rewrap. PCC is also excellent at special orders, they actually call you back if no one can help you right away. Nice! They have a hot food bar now with breakfast stuff in the am and lunch/dinner stuff the rest of the day. Most of the time it is fresh, although they should stir some of it once in a while just for kicks n giggles (ok, and the appetizing factor). I have to also say that most of the time when I go, a guy named Kjell helps me who is absolutely sweet and helpful, good sense of humor and cute to boot!
