Describe my experience? Incredible! I had searched around on Kelley Blue Book for a few different places that had the type of vehicle I was looking for. When I called to make sure they still had them on the lot (with such great prices, I imagine things move quickly) and from the minute Kevin picked up the phone, to the minute I signed papers with him and Ed - I felt welcomed and appreciated. Being a female I have always been precocious buying vehicles, I read up a lot on them before hand, compare prices, look at any issues, call all of my brothers and make sure I know everything they do about the certain model. So Friday night I walked in to PCH (after going to the WRONG PCH down the road, which is the tiniest lot with the most mediocre looking vehicles) I was prepared to have to battle my way through test drives and knowledge of vehicles and defend that rust and "road corrosion" were the same thing (this has happened before). But it was great!! I quickly got in the two cars I came to test drive and Kevin assisted the whole time if I needed anything. When it came to signing and understanding all of the paperwork, Ed was great. Incredibly honest, explained every part I was putting my signature on, made an amazing offer on my trade-in and even let me use the fanciest pen of my life! These guys were great, I felt confident in my buy and didn't have any "mmm... I don't know" moments or feelings of 'the wool' being pulled over my eyes. PCH Car Co is not a good company. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!!! They will sell you a car that might look good and they will make everything sound good but it really is crap. They will have there fake techs in the back work on your car and they don't even know what they are doing at all. I bought a BMW from them and the techs messed up the trans pan on the car. They never fixed it and I had to pay for it out of my pocket at a BMW dealership. Not happy at all. The Idrive that controls the screen never worked and the techs that worked at PCH Car Co didn't even know how to fix it so I had to pay out of my pocket to have BMW fix that as well. Man, where do begin? When I first test drove my Land Rover I noticed the brakes were bad. So as part of the terms of buying it I was told they would check the brakes and such before it went home with me. They also "checked" the rotors. They kept my car for almost two weeks and then returned it to me. Well then there was a tire issue, I returned it and they put THE WRONG SIZE TIRES ON THE VEHICLE. Then, I MYSELF went and purchased the CORRECT sized tires just because they were taking so long to fix it that I was desperate to leave and drive my vehicle. "The manager of the auto repair part of their shop told me "people should expect to have issues with a used car, it's not like they are buying a new car" I told him that's interesting but putting the wrong size tires in a car is a safety issue. He was agitated and charged me for the repair and I left pissed. Fast forward. I waited 4 months until they FINALLY sent me the registration for the car. So in between then I wasn't able to drive it. I was pulled over twice for not having license plates and I tried to explain the issue and the police told me the car would have to sit in the driveway until I revived the plates. I called and left messages and never received a return call. ( I live part time in Colorado and part time in California so I wasn't able to walk in) finally the tags and license plate came in in January... I bought the Rover in August. I also wasn't able to take home my car until September.... almost a month after I purchased it. So fun story I finally got my license and tags in January and when I started driving the car it was making the same awful noise as when I purchased it. So. I took it in to a mechanic to be evaluated. Low and behold the ROTORS WERE THE WRONG SIZE AS WELL. The mechanics begged me not to drive the car and told me it was a complete hazard and they have no idea how they could have sold me a car in this condition. The brakes were non existent and the rotars were a size to small. Do not purchase from this lot. You will regret it. All in all I bought the Land Rover, wasn't able to drive it for two weeks picked it up, had more issues, paid more money to their mechanics shop then ended up paying an extra 1,100 to fix the mistake that was listed in my vehicles purchase warranty. If they truly "Checked" the brakes then they should have caught this. If not they are not only negligent, They are incompetent. Be warned. read more

They sold me a 2016 Mercedes for 30,000 ALL CASH and 1.) sold me a car that had been in a prior accident without disclosing it to me (Lemon Law violation) and when provided with proof from my attorney which came directly from the Mercedes dealership they continue to not take responsibility for their actions and delay the inevitable, thus forcing my attorney to file suit and 2.) sold me a Gold insurance policy for $2,500 under false pretenses and then refusing to return the money we paid for it (also in cash) when we canceled within our money back guarantee period after finding out it did not provide the coverage they promised it would. Used car lot bait and switch con artist. Slick Rick are all terms that come to mind to describe this establishment. Ok let me start by saying I work in the service industry and I know how much reviews can effect a business in a good day is bad. For that reason I gave a lot of thought before deciding to write this review. I first found the car I wanted online. Being local I decided to check it out it seemed priced right. First impression no one seemed to know were the car was. One answer I got was it was out on loan. Second was it was on a test drive. Again I was told to wait it would be right back. After twenty minutes I was able to test drive the car and noticed the airbag light was on. Also that the car was not detailed. I overlooked that as Sam assured me he would take care of it. I liked the car and sat with Sam to talk price. He quoted me a price that was loaded with little extra dealer add ons that Sam assured me were out of his control. The price quoted was $21,700 out the door. He would not put it in writing or give me a printout on all of the extra he showed me(that other dealers didn't charge). I said let me think about it. I decided that due to the fact that my car was totalled and I was frankly in pain from the accident and just needed a car I would go back and buy the car. Again car still had airbag light on. I said please fix the light and put it in writing that they would cover it if there was an issue as the car was bought at auction with no warrantee. I also asked to have the car washed. At that point I was told by another salesperson the price of the car went up. $1,000 to $22,700. I figured it was just car salesman games to get me comfortable with the first price quoted which was $21,700. So I said please just fix the car and wash it. The sales rep did say he would and did want to earn my business and most likely Sam would approve the first quote given. Ok now back the next day to talk to Sam with cash and a check for the balance totaling $21,700 on hand. Again no one new where Sam was and now the battery was dead in the car so that was the excuse I was given for the car being dirty. Finally after going round and round with the sales guy that was there about the price. He told me that the price out the door would be $23,000. So long story short I left bought same car with extended warrantee for $17,500 So I guess Sam did me a favor. read more

I really don't want to write this review. The staff at PCH Car Co are extremely friendly, and they made me feel comfortable throughout the buying process when I purchased a used Mini Cooper here last year. I had previously posted a review with some complaints about trouble we were having with the car. These things were related to some parts that their mechanic said were sound, but found out from another (trusted) mechanic that he had lied. The breather hose was punctured, which had to be replaced. Also, there was oil leaking into the spark plug wells, and the timing chain was loose- both of these items were literally shrugged off by their mechanic. One of the employees here messaged me to talk it over, and mentioned that mechanic had since been let go, so I ended up taking that review down. Unfortunately, I now have to report that I don't believe we were told the whole truth when buying this car. Last week, the car started making some very concerning sounds. Rough idle, loss of power, and a 'tick' that had been there for a long time but had gotten much worse one night last week. We took the car to our mechanic (again, a trusted friend) who said that one of the rocker arms had become completely dislodged from the cylinder head, and was rattling around inside the oil chamber. This may have been due to wear and tear- that's not what this review is about. Our mechanic repaired the rocker arm, but Mini's recommended action for this was to completely rebuild the cylinder head. A repair of $3,000 when the car was only worth about $2,500. Since the cost outweighed the benefit, we decided we were going to trade the car in for a new one. Keep in mind, this is 1 year and a few months after we purchased the car. We took the car to a couple of dealerships, both of whom remarked upon looking at the lien, that the vehicle had frame damage. This frame damage severely reduced the value of the car, and was NOT present on the Carfax report that PCH showed us when we purchased the vehicle. The car had NOT been in any accidents since we purchased it. When one of the dealerships ran a Carfax report, sure enough, the frame damage was reported, just as it was on the lien. I'm not sure what happened here, but we should have been made aware that the car had frame damage. Now we're stuck with a lot of negative equity on the new car because the old car (the one we purchased from PCH) was barely worth anything. As a last note, I'll add one more detail. A while ago, I took the door panel off of this car to replace a speaker. At the very bottom, inside of the door panel, was a small stack of business cards for a tow yard. The cards were water damaged and faded, and had obviously been stuffed in the door for a long while. I don't know what this means, if anything- and my intent is not to imply any foul play, but it's odd to me that we'd find those cards stuffed into the door frame of a car that had frame damage. Oh, and one more critical detail I forgot. My mechanic said that this engine problem with the rocker arm and cylinder head should have thrown a "check engine" light. It did not. Also curious as to why this alert would not have gone off, considering those parts are so critical to the functionality of the engine. Honestly, more than anything I find it sad that having placed our trust in a smaller dealership, we were taken advantage of on this kind of level. We put our faith in PCH because we thought they'd be more upstanding than a big dealership, but they abused that vote of confidence. read more

After several mechanics working on the truck I drove my truck off the lot in September, still not working right they said truck needed to be driven. so i drove it home, went to work the next day and truck broke down. All work was done at there Lot. so in order to get rid of the head ace there head man in sales department "GAVE ME" a bumper to bumper warrenty out of there pocket to get truck fixed at a ford dealership. to find out that the motor was a bad motor and warrenty company was not going to cover motor. So finally after months of not having a vehicle, I finally got my truck in January 7 months later while after making 7 payments and insurance payments i got my truck with a new motor. I go to pick up truck and they wanted to charge me $1900 for them fixing the truck and said i was responsible for the bill and for the motor blowing up and on top of that they took away the bumper to bumper warranty. also The warranty that came with the new motor they took that from me too, saying that is to cover them not me. you would think after all my troubles they would be kind to give that to me. no way, I still had to Pay out of my pocket $1000 for them to release my truck to me after it was fixed. But wait it gets better I also sold my truck on consignment with them which also. They sold it in September and as of todays date. feburary 21 they still have not paid me my money. So buyers be ware this dealer is horrible. the mechanic that worked on my truck that said it was fixed when it wasn't is still there head mechanic. so i would recommend if you buy from them make sure you get everything up front in your contract ask to take your vehicle to get your own inspection before you buy and or negotiate at least a 2 month warranty. during this entire ordeal the only person who would return calls or text and tried to help out was a sales guy named Keith only guy that was helpful. as to there head guy in the sales department after taking my $1000 on top of what i paid for the truck and still have things that were supposed to have been fixed that still were never addressed or fixed he had the nerve to ask me to give him a good review on Yelp. well i hope that the truth of this yelp helps out all the buyer that wonder on your lot. buyers beware. read more

Got a Yelp account just to post this review - in stark contrast to the 5-star reviews here. I called them over the weekend about a car and spoke to Petra. Right from the start, it seemed that I was not talking to a knowledgeable auto salesperson. Petra confused me with a different customer, talked about the wrong vehicle even after I corrected her, had minimal knowledge about the car's history (when I asked if they had more info than that in the Carfax report, she promised me a 'detailed' Carfax report ... which had the exact same info. No help!). She even tried to convince me that if any of the tires were worn down, the auto manufacturer would replace them under the original warranty (which the car was still under)! I then sent her an email Sun with a few straightforward questions prior to closing the deal (condition of tires, paperwork costs etc. I was planning to pay cash and have the vehicle shipped to MN or fly down there and drive it back). I did not hear back and sent her a reminder email on Tues - to no response again. I finally called back Weds and talked to Kevin (who picked up the phone). He obviously knew his stuff, was very responsive and promised to follow up. A couple of hours later, I finally got a email from Petra (likely after Kevin prodded her) saying the car had been sold earlier in the day and a short apology for the delayed response. By now I had wasted several hours of my time researching the vehicle, talking to shippers and searching for plane tickets to San Diego to compare against. A simple update from PCH Car on Mon would have saved all of this hassle (I may well have still been waiting for an answer if not for (luckily) getting Kevin when I called earlier today). Two stars because the vehicle itself appeared to be very good. Zero stars for customer relations (well... for one of the two people). read more

I had recently just purchased a car from this dealership and I am very disappointed. I was told there were no issues with the car and that everything was working properly except for the key which was not even programmed with the car, but I was told it would be taken care of at a later time and they would fix it free of charge, they ended up saying I would have to pay for it after I asked them again. Everything was running smoothly until I had to put gas in my tank. Fuel was unable to flow in to the tank and the pump would click off every 2 seconds, as you can imagine this was very frustrating considering I had JUST bought the car. I thought it might have just been the gas station or pump so I went to several different gas stations and still the pump would click off every 2 seconds. It would take me around 10 minutes to fill my car up even halfway. I called PCH to notify them of the issue and I brought it in to them and they said they would look at my car and they would try and fix it, free of cost. I am also certain they knew of this issue when selling me the car because minutes before I test drove the car at the dealership one of their mechanics went to go put gas in the car so I could drive it, so he obviously had to have the same trouble I was having and just blatantly failed to mention it. They were kind enough to give me a loaner car while they were working on my car which was nice but you would think they would at least clean it and there would be a little gas in it if they are letting clients use it...but nope I got in the car and it was extremely dirty and there were leaves and dirt all over the floor and there was so little gas that the gas light was blinking on and off. When I got my car back from them after they "fixed" the gas issue by removing some screen from the gas tank. They told me everything was working fine and not only 2 weeks later the SAME issue was happening again. It took me many times coming in and asking them to look at it and they just kept telling me to come back on a said date and they still had no idea what was wrong with my car, it was a complete waste of my time. They finally said they could address the issue but I would have to pay a couple hundred dollars for them to fix it even after they had "fixed" it a first time and they said they couldn't guarantee they could even fix it. I ended up having to take it to trusted dealer who told me that removing a small screen in the tank was waste of time considering I needed to replace the entire gas tank which was going to cost about $1600. I recommend not purchasing a car through PCH Car Co. I feel I was mislead and they cannot be trusted. read more

Do not buy from these people. They collected warantee money from me, and never paid the insurance company (gold standard). Big shock, Ayman the owner said he was sorry and would refund my 2300. We had a great experience here. We had a little confusion via email about the car we were interested in but upon arriving there,it was all worked out. My husband and I felt like they were very nice, accommodating and honest. Kevin and David were the main ones helping us out. David was very informative and personal. I really didn't feel like he was just "trying to make a sale". I felt like he genuinely wanted to get us a good car with a good deal. I never once got the pushy , sketchy car dealer vibe . They actually seem like they care and are honest. BUYERS BEWARE!!! My husband and I purchased a 2012 Mini Cooper Clubman on Sunday, December 24, 2017 as a Christmas present for our 19 year old daughter from PCH Car Co (cash). The buying experience was great and Charles was attentive and helpful despite being the only salesman there with 3 sets of customers to assist. When it was our turn we were able to negotiate on the price (slightly higher than we budgeted) but we also received a 30 day or 1000 miles Powertrain warranty with the vehicle which appeared to be a good deal. We live in Southeast San Diego (~43 miles from PCH in Oceanside), and before we got home the check engine light came on (1st occurrence). It being Christmas Eve and PCH had closed we continued home (figured we take the car back after Christmas). My husband checked the trouble code that came back P0015 (Camshaft Phaser), btw. We attempted to take the car back on Tuesday, December 26th but about ¾ of the way there the check engine light went out. We figured it may be a fluke and decided against dropping it off and opted to drive it some more to see if it would come back on and it didn't until the evening of Wednesday, December 27th (the very next day & 2nd occurrence). My hubby and daughter took the car back Thursday morning, December 28th (this time check engine light stayed on) and was told the service department was very busy and they probably wouldn't be able to check the car out until the next day. On Friday, December 29th , Greg (Service Manager) informed us that a sensor was bad and that a replacement had to be ordered but due to the holiday (New Year's) it wouldn't be in until Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018. The repair would take a day so he couldn't guarantee the car would be ready on Tuesday and it wasn't. Tuesday evening were we told the car would be ready Wednesday morning (January 3rd). My husband gave them all morning to finish and drove to PCH with my daughter who was babysitting our 1 year old grandson on his lunch break. They arrived at noon, 2.5 hours later the car still wasn't ready and Greg proceeds to tell my husband that they found another problem (check engine light back on, 3rd occurrence) but this time there's an issue with the monitor and the car wouldn't be ready until the next day. Needless to say my hubby was upset as PCH had now had the car longer than us since we purchased it. As a courtesy for the inconvenience, Greg with the approval of Sam (General Manager) offered to deliver the car the next day before noon with a full tank of gas and let us take any car on the lot to utilize as a loaner in the meantime. My husband declined the loaner car and provided his work address for delivery (Kearny Mesa which was ~14 miles closer to them). Thursday, January 4th, I get a text from my husband at 12:42pm, no sign of the car or PCH and no messages. He proceeds to call Greg/Sam to find out what was going on and later learned that the persons delivering the car went to our house (no one was home) instead of his work as requested the previous day for that very reason. Apparently this wasn't relayed to the delivery personnel. Once the mix-up was cleared up, Greg said the car would be there in ~ 30 minutes but almost 2 hours later still NO CAR and NO communication from PCH. Hubby gets back in contact with Greg only to find out that the check engine light came back on (4th occurrence) in route from our house to his job so the delivery personnel drove it all the way back to Oceanside to get it checked out. NO ONE bothered to call or let us know what was going on. Greg claimed this time the lady who put gas in the car didn't screw the gas cap back on tight, thus causing the check engine light to come on again. Hmmm... So the people that PCH employs that work at the dealership with an auto repair shop on site don't know that a gas cap should be tight & secure??? Speaking of the delivery personnel, which happened to be two women (one driving our car for delivery and another in a second car for the return trip), had the nerve to talk crap outside our house where the delivery address mix-up occurred. They were so loud that my neighbor overheard them cussing up a storm and complaining about going to the wrong address as if it was our fault. One even had the nerve to state that PCH had better get 5 stars for this as they normally don't provide this type of service. Today is January 9th, 2018 and I'm unhappy to report the check engine light came back on AGAIN last night (5th occurrence). My hubby checked the trouble code and once again P0015. Greg/Sam said they would send someone to pick it up and they would also bring a loaner for my daughter to drive. One of them was supposed to call us back with the details (i.e. when, time) last night but we finally got a call this morning ~11:00am. Five Stars, REALLY? Only if its for the number of times the check engine light has come on in the first 15 days since our purchase. read more

Their sales team doesn't beat around the bush or avoid any questions or concerns you may have. AND, they have a service department, as well as a detailing department.
