The restaurant is a hidden gem and I really mean it. It is tucked away in a small corner plaza on PCH, and it serves an absolute gem of a Thai meal. Inside, with its casual decor, is large enough to accommodate 16 people max. The friendly waitress brought water and menus right away. After browsing through the menus, we ordered the following dishes: Papaya Salad with Shrimps: The lettuce leaves were super fresh, and the papaya strings were nicely crunchy. The blend of fish sauce with lime juice was refreshingly tangy and slightly sweet. We just wished there were more than two shrimps in the salad. House Noodle with Seafood (Flat Noodle): The broth was clear, light and umami. The flat noodles had a very nice texture and the portion was generous. The fish fillets, shrimp, and mussels were pleasantly fresh. Kra Paw over Rice w/ Fried Egg: The ground pork was well seasoned and paired nicely with the perfectly cooked white rice. The sauteed onion slices provided a lovely aroma and subtle sweetness. The runny fried egg on top gave a nice accent and extra flavor. Yen Tao Fo: Visually, the whole dish is pinker than a Barbie room. The broth with fermented tofu curd and chili sauce was quite exquisite and polarizing: spicy, sweet, and tangy. The flat noodles had a nice firm texture. The seafood was fresh, and the snow fungus and bok choy were tenderly crunchy. The prices were reasonable and the food was excellent. Yay! Look at the video to see the glistening caramel colored rice noodles! Secondly, the noodles were NOT cooked to within an inch oF their life! Another point for PCH! The noodleS had just that right, pleasant CHEW, that texture that only properly prepared rice noodles can ever give! The sauce seemed like TWO much at first - both too salty and sweet but once the lime was squeezed, the peanuts and sprouts tossed about- everything settled in JUST right. Thrown for a loop by the sausage appetizer - omg crispy casing holding flavors not found anywhere else that I know of - even the Laotian restaurant I almost went to- served with peanuts, chilis and slices of garlic that didn't taste like overwhelming garlic, just fresh tasting to balance out the rich bites of authentic Thai sausage. SO WONDERFUL! Really quite a treat here in humble harbor city / Lomita. Thai tea good could be stronger? But thank you for a $5 Thai ice tea though! Another Nice, small hidden gem here in Lomita. They replaced Nouilles of 3rds, which made one of my favorite noodles soups ever. I had really hoped it would be better, but my experience wasn't great. The Roti Curry was so oily. The roti is super crispy and fresh out of the fryer, but I think they need to give the excess oil a chance to drip off. The Boat Noodles are just sweet, and their noodles have a more gelatinous texture, so they tend to stick to each other and not the soup. My friend's Drunken Noodle is so bland she has fully inverted the bottle soy sauce upon it, though my other friend's Duck Noodle Soup had a pleasing broth with a nice smoky finish from the duck. I loved the Tom Yum Fried Rice. Great flavors, perfectly done. I think they're in their early phase so I hope to give them another chance sometime. Tried the Pad See Ew chicken, Krapow chicken w/ fried egg, and Yentafo noodle soup. All were fantastically executed. Pad See Ew had great flavor and had the toasted char noodles authentic to how these noodles are prepped in Thailand. The krapow chicken was topped with crisp light basil leaves. The dish smelled wonderful and hit the olfactory at the same time as the beautiful presentation excited the eyes. Taste was delicious with the right amount of saucy but not watery. Lastly, the Yentafo was generous with all the goods of fish ball, various seafoods, and crispy wonton. Tasted amazing and such generous portions. This has to be one of the best Thai restaurants in this whole area. They have a variety of thai dishes that are so authentic to what real Thai food tastes like. The prices are fair too, it's not expensive for what you are getting. The portions are pretty generous. The appetizer option is so good here. I remember this tastes just like a street vendor stall in Thailand. They made it authentic! With the veggies and everything. The price is good too it's not expensive. The meatballs were $10 and the sausages were $13. They have salads, noodle soups, pan fried noodles, curry, rice dishes, and dessert menu with so many items. I absolutely love how each category has a large selection to choose from. It definitely was hard to choose what I wanted because I wanted to eat everything! I like that the menu is so large with all delicious yummy things as if I'm ordering from a restaurant in Thailand. I love ! I ordered four items: esaan sausage, beef meatballs, ka-pow kai Dow, and Panang chicken curry. Everything was cooked fresh to order, came out piping hot. It was all good and delicious. PCH Noodles in Lomita is located in a small shopping complex under South Bay Design Center. I wouldn't have even known it was here since it's kind of hidden. The parking was easy, although many of the spots indicated 15 or 30 minutes only. The restaurant itself is small, cozy and intimate. It would be a great place for a date, or small groups. The food here was authentic, comforting and full of flavor. I'm so glad that there's a great Thai restaurant in this area now, so I don't have to drive to Gardena. We ordered the Khao Soi, Pad See Ew, and Boat Noodle Soup, and everything was delicious! The Pad See Ew was good, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It was also made with Chinese broccoli, which is a must in any true Thai restaurant (although there was also broccoli mixed in). I can't stand it when Thai restaurants sub broccoli instead of using Chinese broccoli. The Khao Soi had rich, creamy curry flavor, and the Boat Noodle Soup was said to be good. You are also able to pick what kind of noodles you want for the Boat Noodle, which was a plus. The spice level was just right for me - I ordered mild (in case my daughter wanted to try it), but it was more like a medium, which was still just right. They definitely do Thai level type spice, so just be sure to order accordingly. The service was also good, although there seemed to only be 1 person working the front. Although there was only 1 server, she was attentive and took our order quickly. Our food also came out fast and was nice and hot. I would see PCH Noodles almost everyday going to work so decided to give it a try after seeing good reviews about them- and I'm so we did! I was a little skeptical that we were the only customers but it seemed like they do more take out orders. We got their noodles we calamari, papaya salad and curry with beef. The location is a bit small but comfortable. My friend and I got the pad sew ew which was yummy and we also got one of each special- which was not very special... As our food came out it was apparent that the chicken was chicken tenders that were probably store bought. My idea of a special would be a signature dish that will define the restaurant but this left me not wanting to come back... it just felt like they threw the chicken in a fryer, chopped it up and called it a day for both dishes! This was our first meal out to begin 2024! We had driven past this place a few times since it opened. The first time, I noticed that Nouilles of 3rd's signage was no longer up & that it was now PCH Noodles. On January 1st, we decided to eat here. We were seated promptly. It wasn't busy yet, only one table with 4 guests were dining. We looked over the menu and got some items to share. The best thing we ate were the Curry Puffs! If you get only one thing here, get these! The pastry envelops a flavorful curry filling! It is sooo scrumptious! I would come back here for just these alone! We also got the E-Saan Sausage. They are sliced pieces of sausage which have been fried and are very crispy! They were okay. Sausages are not my food of choice, so try them for yourself! I like Yellow Curry, so we ordered that. The Yellow Curry itself is $15. You have the option to add meat and/or Seafood for an additional cost. We got the Combination with meat & shrimp for $5 more. It comes with a serving of Jasmine Rice. I felt like the flavor was good, but it was quite soupy. We only ended up eating a little over half of it and took the rest home. Guess what? I think it was better the next day! They have containers of chilis in different forms on the tables. I love the Thai Chiles in Fish Sauce. I think I about emptied a jar (peppers only) into my bowl! Well, this is a noodle house and we didn't even order any noodles! We will have to come back and try a noodle dish to see how they are. read more
