PDQ Car Wash

When the guy that owned it before Covid was always there this place was the best. I have had the…read moreultimate car wash with gate privilege since before covid. I had to show that owner I was capable of pulling up into the touch wash safely to get my pass. Since the new owner took over I no longer have privilege to use the touch wash I pay a subscription fee for. In fact, it is now closed most of the time. This is even during business and weekend daytime hours. So I am being forced to use the lesser wash almost every time. They also stopped stocking the vacuum tokens. I am supposed to get one per week. Most of the vacuums don't work, but aren't labeled, so if you do want to use vacuums you can lose money finding out they don't work and no way to get money back. If something doesn't change this month I am canceling my subscription and going to one of the new, state of the art car washes that actually are maintained. Employees have told me the owner now doesn't care that things don't work.

That is until the day I had an issue and was told to basicly go away. I called with an issue I had with a wash and was told to bring in my truck to show them what had happened. I show up to only be greeted rudely and told that I am a liar and that they were not responsible for what had happened before they even looked at my vehicle or understood what happened. To top it off they had already cancelled my account before I even showed up. What had happened was their touch car wash side had left scratches all over my truck that morning. The sides, hood, mirrors, tailgate, roof, and new chrome trim I had just placed on my vehicle that weekend. When I tried to show them that the new chrome had even been scratched, I was told they don't cover after market damage anyway, and to leave without understanding that the scratched chrome proved consistancy. They refused to do an incident report or give any insurance info. So I just contacted my insurance and I am going to let them handle it. (My insurance stated they will go after damages on my behalf due to photo proof and receipts of new equipment installation) A police report has also been filed per my insurance company's request, and was instructed this was not a new occurance for this business. So if you love your paint job beware! Also read the other low star reviews of issues with scratched vehicles. Thank you.

I haven't been there in a while, so I decided to buy a 4-pack of their Royal Wash service. The first one was great. I decided to bring my other car in the next day. I drove 30+ minutes to get there only to be greeted by a "Car wash Closed" sign. So, I called and Rod answered. He told me the car wash is closed due to bad weather. It's not even sprinkling out. It's barely "misting". I explained that I had just driven 30+ minutes and everywhere online still says they are "open" and nowhere on their site did it say they close whenever it's even misting outside. He didn't care one bit. I would have been frustrated, but would have taken it a little easier if his attitude was better. He didn't apologize, he had a "yep, we're closed, deal with it" attitude. Then he hung up on me. I called back and told him I didn't appreciate getting hung up on, and he continued with his attitude and kept repeating in a monotone/condescending voice, "how can I help you, sir?". I will be contacting the owners to get a refund on these prepaid washes. What good are they if you can't use them? If they don't refund me, I'll have to submit a chargeback on my credit card. Unless they make things right with me, I will not be going back. Rod single-handedly killed a once loyal customer. --- Update: Melissa, one of the owners of Clear Water called me and made everything right. She apologized and was open to other feedback. She also offered to send me a gift card for the troubles. Although it shouldn't have happened in the first place, they responded very professionally, and I will definitely be giving them another shot. I get home 25 minutes away, open the hatch and the back wasn't even vacuumed, back seat wasn't wiped down. I can be understanding if it was real busy but it wasn't. That means that the people who checked me in and are supposed to do the vacuuming and the people who dry the car and wash the interior windows missed it too. When you pay over $30 for a wash you expect better and I should be able to have confidence it would be done correctly. Almost all the workers were kids maybe there needs to be more supervision. Maybe I'll have to start going to PDQ.

Immediately after getting my first car wash at this business, I checked the undercarriage of my vehicle and it wasn't clean nor was it even wet. My main purpose for purchasing a package was for washing the undercarriage of salt which will be coming in the future Wisconsin months. I paid for a whole year right from the get go and am 100% dissatisfied in how they misrepresented themselves. I will pay for a single wash (at $10) but am requesting the rest in refund ($179.89). I tried performing a request for refund through their website however it would not let me register. I would like to be contacted via email and credited for what I paid (minus a single wash).

I had a 5+ hour drive home that same day and specifically requested that the wheels be balanced and the one bad tire be replaced. Initially, they declined to do what I requested. After speaking with my dad over the phone, they agreed to replace a tire. However, once I got home and we removed all four wheels, we discovered that the tire they replaced was not the tire that actually had the issue. They had also added a significant amount of wheel weights to the problematic wheel without explaining this to me. All four of my Michelin tires had been balanced within the past year and previously only had a small amount of weight on each wheel, so seeing that many weights added to a single wheel was concerning and appeared to indicate an issue with that tire. What was most frustrating was the lack of communication. The staff appeared to focus on some existing cosmetic damage to one of the rims and suggested that may have been the cause of the vibration. They also informed me that the problem would not be fully resolved, which left me wondering why the actual source of the vibration was not addressed. The steering wheel shake disappeared for roughly 350 miles after I left, then returned. I understand they were likely trying to help me get home safely, but I left feeling that my concerns were dismissed and that the root cause of the problem was never properly addressed. For an emergency situation where I was relying on their expertise, the communication and diagnosis were disappointing. I do want to add that the staff were very friendly, professional, and quick to help. Given that I was dealing with an unexpected issue while traveling, I appreciated that they got my vehicle into the shop right away and worked to get me back on the road as quickly as possible. My disappointment is not with how I was treated personally, but with the communication and the fact that the underlying issue was not properly identified or resolved.

They found that both of my upper ball joints and one outer tie-rod had play and needed to be replaced. They weren't AT ALL offended or bothered that I wanted to change the parts myself, then reschedule the alignment. After I changed the parts, which were indeed bad, I rescheduled the alignment, and they did a fine job. I found the shop to be clean, efficient, professional, and competent.

I wasn't looking to spend to much money on it so I asked if they could just seal it back up and I'd pay for the services. Few days later my neighbor heard the noise as I drove past and he informed me that it is common for the parking brake springs to break, causing the the pads to wiggle within making that rattling noise. I was able to just remove the pads since I don't not need a parking brake and the noise was gone. None the less I am newer to the Fox valley area and I will not be returning to them.

Paid $30.00 for the "Managers Special." Which is suppose to include custom wheel scrubbing. Brushes on the wash line are not working/shut off. What the #@$& am I paying for. Talked to three people at the dry station. Two apologized and started to rub the tires with a rag. Other girl that must have been the "foreman" gave me two different excuses as to why the bushes were turned off. Not going back. I would recommend to stay away. Shit job for $30.00. read more

He also explained the price difference as opposed to sticker shock when I went to pay. The next day I took my wife's car in for an oil change and squeaky brakes. There was an issue with the rear brakes. They didn't try to sell me new brakes on all four wheels, which they really could have and I wouldn't have known the difference. And the price was decent. I needed a repair done, and called over a week in advance and spoke with Cheyenne. She said that my vehicle would be done for sure in one day so we made an appointment for the following week. So, I dropped my car off the night before to have to looked at right in the morning. I got a call at 8am that they looked at my car, and this is what it needed and would be done later in the day. I called back at 5:15pm, and the guy that answered the phone told me it wasn't ready yet. I asked him when he thought it would be ready, and he instantly got an attitude with me. I don't think my question was unreasonable nor did it get angry that it wasn't ready. He starts rattling off everything they did, and what they still needed to do. I'm not unintelligent when it comes to car repairs, and I know what they needed to do should have taken 4 hours tops. Why they had my car all day and then get mad when I ask a question was really weird. He then told me my car would be ready in the morning- even though I was told twice it would be done the same day, whatever I had the next day off anyway. Later in the evening Cheyenne calls me to tell me that my car is ready. So we went to pick it up, and at least it came in under budget. I always find her very pleasant and knowledgeable to work with. The guy however, was a world class asshole. Based upon that interaction alone, I won't bring my own car here anymore, but others in my household probably will. When you are shelling out a few grand for a repair, you kind of expect to at least get a phone call if they are running behind in the repair time. And they damn well better be nice when you call for an update!
