Inconsistent - 2014 they moved my family and did a very nice job. However, when we moved this time, for my final Military Retirement move, we informed Peachtree Movers the most important item they were to provide to us were official weight tickets. An empty and full weight. They told us it wasn't a problem but failed to comply. Moreover it was only after they loaded the trucks informed us if we wanted it they would have to travel 20 miles in the opposite direction (during Thursday's evening rush hour Atlanta traffic) to get the weight. And they would be charging us for the added time it would take ($250 an hour). The results were; I, as a Soldier,am out the entire $2500. The military won't recognize an email from any business as office supporting documentation. When talking with them they simply listened to my complaint and have yet to get back with me after two weeks of waiting. Very disappointed and out money simply because they lied to us. read more

They do not have an easy job, and still maintained a pleasant attitude both at my old place and all the way through the move in at the new place. They wrapped all furniture, had boxes to hang our clothes up, and the two guys sent to move our stuff were all around fantastic! They also moved so fast, we were in shock! We did not hire this company, somehow they were the ones that ended up with my final military move stuff from my last duty station to here in the Atlanta area. When they showed up the foreman said to lock everything valuable up, which we did, and told them they were not supposed to be going into a particular room in the house. We went out of our way to take care of these guys but, getting them waters, etc. on a hot day, they sure did not take care of us in anyway. They ended up stealing over 5000 dollars in jewelry, watches, etc alone. They stole my wives engagement ring, wedding bands (custom made in Thailand, no way to replace that), and two of my watches, several necklaces, and bracelets, that were once again in a room they were not even supposed to be in. They were in the bathroom a lot, I suppose hiding the stuff the they were stealing. There were only 3-4 workers, but yet as soon as I found all the stuff that was stolen the next morning, I immediately called the police, made and report, and called the company, which was no help at all, supposedly the cops went out to the location to interview all the workers that were on this job, and everyone of them denied doing anything wrong (they were the only ones in the house besides myself and my wife, and we didnt steal our own stuff). On top of stealing from me, they also damaged almost every piece of furniture I had, and if they didnt damage it, it was missing altogether. They did 8000 dollars worth of damage to my stuff to include missing items. There was no care taken with any of my items. It was like hiring a group of wild animals to move me. The owner of the company claims to be a veteran, but was not a damn bit of help to me, and only caused us a lot of heartache, and a huge distaste for even coming back to GA to be treated and welcomed back the way we were. Our stuff was taken, and I am sure never to be seen or heard from again, we are stuck with scratches and broken and missing items. I did not have a choice in who moved my stuff, the government used the lowest bidder I am sure, but you do have a choice, and using this company is a choice I would never make!!! read more

We hired Peachtree Movers to do our recent move based on a colleague's recommendations, but didn't check yelp before hiring them. Reading the reviews now, maybe we should have done it. We have moved many times in the past, both locally, across country, and internationally and never had any issues. Not this time. We had prepared the move of our 3rd-floor 2-bedroom apartment by moving almost everything ourselves except for our furniture and the content of a small storage unit. No appliances had to be moved. Despite this, it took the crew close to 12 hours to load/unload including an hour and 15 minutes to drive 3 miles to our new place (yes, an hour and 15 minutes). According to the crew, not everything was going to fit into the truck and they advised us they would have to do a second trip to load/unload the content of the storage unit, which we ended up bringing into the lobby of our apartment building ourselves in order to expedite things. We didn't check the content of the first load, so we can't assess if a second trip was indeed necessary. I believe someone from Peachtree movers should have come before the move in order to assess the amount of things that would have to be moved and adjust the size of the truck and the number of movers accordingly. It would definitely have made an impact for our move, especially considering that they charge you by the hour. Upon inspection, we noticed that several things were damaged during the move (dining table corner broken, scratched wooden chairs, missing chair gliders, wooden bookshelves forced off their hardware). In retrospect, we should have paid more attention to how they were packing things up. In our last move, everything was wrapped in blankets and we thought the same thing was going to be done except it wasn't. Some things were wrapped in plastic, but most things weren't. Going back and forth with management and arguing about the time the move should have taken, we managed to get a discount on the total bill for the move. Needless to say, giving discounts isn't a good business strategy, offering good service is. We feel that Peachtree Movers didn't offer good service and we wouldn't recommend them to people. read more

I had a 9am move scheduled of my one bedroom apartment to a two-story house 30 minutes away on Monday December 29. The two movers arrived around 9:30 which was fine because I understand how the morning traffic can be and I did receive a call letting me know they would be late. By luck all of the residents in my building were gone to work and they were able to back the truck up to the bottom of the stairs (My apartment was on the 2nd floor). I did a quick walk through with the movers so they could access how they wanted to tackle the move. I had about twenty boxes of various sizes, sofa, love seat, 50 inch TV and glass stand, washer/dryer, stereo, queen sleigh bed, two bookshelves, dresser/mirror, two nightstands, chest, small kitchen table and two chairs. I lingered outside the apartment on the back steps so that I would be close enough for questions, but not in the way. The guys knocked the boxes out rather quickly. My frustration began when it was going on 3 hours and the bedroom furniture had not even been touched. I witnessed several smoke/rest breaks (at one point sitting in the truck for 5 minutes - yes...I clocked him), personal conversations via blue-tooth and lots of bickering back and forth between the two about whether an item was being wrapped too much or not wrapped properly. One was unable to transport the washer/dryer (using the dolly), mattress or box spring down the one flight of the steps in the apartment complex. Lifting heavy items is part of the job requirement, correct? Finally around 1pm we were able to hit the road and head to the new residence. The unloading process went a little more quickly, but only because I made it a point to unwrap, and sometimes assemble, the items they were bringing in so they could go straight back to the truck for the remainder. As the sixth hour was approaching, I just had the movers drop everything in the front room and stated I would move the items to where they needed to be within the house myself. I just could not justify it taking over 6 hours to move a one bedroom apartment where everything was packed and ready to go. The only items that had to be taken apart and re-assembled were the sleigh bed and the three glass shelves removed from the TV stand. I took it upon myself to take the dresser/mirror apart and re-assemble in an effort to save time. I had to stop the mover from connecting the washer/dryer because without him watching over the other guy, he would just stand in the back of the moving truck and rest. I wanted to make the assumption that this particular job may have been contracted out by Peachtree Movers due to the fact the movers didn't even have a company vehicle (Penske truck used) and efficient moving practices were not being used (i.e., Gene would use the dolly to transport several boxes to the bottom of the front porch and then hand carry each box into the house one by one, whereas, Jarvis would roll the box filled dolly up the porch steps and into the front room and then unload all boxes at once). Being they both claimed to have been in the business for several years, one would think they would know how to work smarter and not harder. I heard good reviews about this company and that is the ONLY reason I chose a deal where I would pay $120/hour to move my items. I don't like to hear that the stairs were an obstacle when I ask a mover why it took so long to move so little. Not to mention I believe I had to supply that info when I submitted my request to Peachtree Movers; another reason I feel the job may have been contracted out. I don't want to hear about being tired, thirsty or hungry because it isn't your first rodeo and you know how things can take longer than expected. Although my items do not smell like smoke, I think cigarettes should not be lit while near the belongings of your customer. Additionally, the customer does not want to hear their belongings bumping against the wall or door frame; even if they are wrapped. It would have also helped to be mindful of shoes leaving scuff marks on the wall as you slide down the staircase placing the plastic on the carpeted steps. Would not recommend them to anyone. read more

The movers were excellent but sales and customer service, management and customer service were horrible. They completely miscalculated how long the move would take, told me to pay a deposit which they changed at final payment to an additional fee, and had the worst checkout system ever. Even though the movers were great, I will never use them again and can never recommend them because of this. read more

We used Peachtree Movers for a commercial move recently. Would advise you to shop around. The move did get finished but nothing that was promised was followed through on. The sales person makes a good pitch on what is going to happen although nothing seemed to follow that plan. When he was called with concerns and questions he had absolutely nothing to say and really only wanted to get off the phone. The in person packing demo was rushed as the sales person realized he was running late and dashed out the door. The person scheduled to arrive early and disassemble the cubes prior to the move team starting work didn't show up in advance (the time was on the invoice however). The team scheduled to arrive at 7:30 am the following day to reassemble cubes ended up being 1 person arriving at 11:00 who was still working hours later and was then in the way of the movers trying to finish the move. We had to tell the movers to put the protective material on the walls - they couldn't locate it (although it is an item on the supplies on the invoice) - and used old cardboard boxes. Overall it was very haphazard. My fault for not asking around more as later several people in our building told me that they had not so great experience with Peachtree Movers. read more

Had a terrible experience with Peachtree. The move took nearly 12 hours and we had already moved a bunch of stuff before they arrived. A number of things were damaged. Only 3 guys were sent, two of which were not fit to be moving furniture in the middle of the summer in Atlanta. The movers themselves were friendly and courteous, which is why they are getting two stars from me instead of one. However, somehow a bookshelf that had already been unloaded into my house ended back upon the truck and taken back to the headquarters. It was found in the warehouse in the section of items to be thrown away. Then they broke a lamp and tried to deny the claim, saying that lamps weren't covered. I had to remind them of their own contract where it says lamps aren't covered unless they did the packing, which they did. I did finally get reimbursed for the lamp, but it took weeks because their claims processor wasn't replying to my emails. When I threatened to take them to small claims court, I got a call from the manager and my claim was finally settled. read more

These guys did an awesome job moving me from a 2BR/2BA condo. Move was accomplished in just over 3 hours, and that included an extra stop at a storage facility. The crew was polite, professional, and very efficient; not a scratch on anything. Amy in customer service was wonderful, and called to confirm two days prior. The crew (unfortunately I'm terrible at remembering names) called the morning of the move to let me know they were on their way. This is the way moving ought to be done. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I thought pricing was very reasonable and worth every penny. read more

The workers are hard workers and did a great job. Customer service not so good. Asked for an assessment and was told a 26 ft truck would move a 3 bedroom house. No assessment and it didn't all fit. The supervisor said he had to get another truck but wold not be back until 10:30am the next day. I told him it would not work since I close on the house at 9am and the new owners would have the keys and be at the house around 10:30. They moved all that didn't fit into the garage to pack the next morning. I felt comfortable leaving the garage door free so they could get in. I was assured they would have it all packed in 45mins. They were to deliver my property at noon at the new house. Didn't show. I called the supervisor and he said they were just pulling up. I asked where and his reply was the house to finish packing. So much for honoring the customer's request. At that time my realtor called to let me know the buyer's realtor called to say we had not moved out. Not happy with Peactree movers. I spoke with the supervisor when they arrived and he said I okayed the time for them to be at the sold house . I told him definitely not. He just as well as called me a liar. I called customer service and had to leave a message that was not returned. I called Monday morning and the lady who handled my move answered. False apology, she acknowledged my message but did not return the call I had to call. The supervisor did not leave me any paperwork, she assured me I would receive a copy. Hasn't happen and it has been ten days. No, I do not recommend these movers. read more

Movers arrived late to residence to start the day. I received a phone call and the main person was yelling at someone else with the phone still attached to his mouth (basically yelling in my ear). Four guys showed up and looked like functioning alcoholics. The move took a little over 3 hours (minimum time to pay for) to move stuff into storage located 2 miles away. Fast forward to 2 months later, Peachtree Movers sent 4 different guys with more class. Upon moving my stuff out of storage, my entertainment center was broken (it was dropped), a headboard and frame were broken (wrapped with plastic and tape to hide it), slit in leather sofa arm (covered with a piece of cardboard), and dishes and glasses were broken (as if heavier boxes were placed on top of them). Not one of the first set of movers said anything. The second movers brought all the damage to my attention. I filed a claim and it was paid but it does not cover the headache it took to even get the money. Save yourself pain and suffering and use someone else. read more

We used this company on September 10th to move our office in Buford from one building to the next. We interviewed several different movers, had them all out to the building, showed them what was to be moved and where it would be moved to. Peachtree had the best price, the rep was responsive, so we scheduled the move. Cut to September 10th. The movers showed up late, they weren't physically able to move the furniture up the stairs to the offices and had to call someone in to further take apart furniture that had already been mostly disassembled, the move was slow and painful and took several hours longer than promised. At the end of the evening, the movers tried to stop working before the move was complete and at the end of the day the entire stairwell to our brand new building was destroyed. The movers had dropped so much furniture going up the stairs that there were actual grooves in the wood. October 20th and so far the company has sent out a painter with "40 years of experience" who painted over the holes in the wall without actually patching them first and didn't bother to stir the paint before painting. Needless to say it looks worse than when they damaged it to begin with. I honestly see this ending in a lawsuit before it is actually resolved. Needless to say, I highly recommend that you do NOT consider this company when planning your next move. The money we saved on the move was completely not worth the headache. read more

DO NOT USE THIS MOVER! Do not even waist your time getting a price from them. They were to move my mother and possibly move a piano to another location. An amount was quoted for the move and a credit card number was given and they were to get an additional quote back to us on moving the piano to a different location. We never heard back from them on the quote so I called them 1 week before the move. Originally they could find no info on the schedule for the move. We were transferred to someone else and they found the info. We were told the person who gave us the quote was their best employer but was out sick. Then we were told they could not do the move due to the distance being over 50 miles. Although the quote included us paying for 2 hours over the additional hourly rate for the 25 miles over the regular price. The lady I as was speaking to got rude and even hung up on me. I called back to speak to the owner (thinking an owner would want to know someone who works for him/her was hanging up on clients) and was told he was standing there when I was on the phone and it wasn't "legal" for them to do the move. I stated I was willing to accept this and was going to be doing a review which he asked me not to do. My biggest frustration is I was told their "best employer" was the one I spoke with. I totally understand people get sick. If I had not called back to inquire about the additional fee for the piano to a different location I would have been waiting for movers that never showed up. After reading the reviews that I did not check prior to calling them I am glad I found another mover!!! Again, their business tactics are terrible so I recommend you do not waist your time calling Peachtree Movers!!! read more
