When I first came to Neeva, I couldn't stand--let alone walk!-- due to a severe, acute lower back injury; the mere attempt brought me to tears. I was supposed to receive physical therapy in Palo Alto, but the designated clinic wouldn't take me in for at least two weeks, despite the massive pain and inability to walk. On top of not receiving PT, my then-doctor wouldn't even physically examine my back; he merely prescribed muscle relaxants and told me I could walk out of his office. I was incredibly insulted by his rudeness and cavalier attitude- for goodness sake, I was in a wheelchair, and he told me to walk away! (I should note that my current doctor is much, much better.) So, I used yelp to find a PT near my apartment in Fremont. When I called to schedule an appointment at Peak Performance without any doctor's referral (I was very much on my own), the receptionist Silvia was so kind during our conversation that I broke down and started crying again. Peak Performance immediately worked me into their schedule that day. Within 10 minutes of Neeva working on my back, I was able to stand up straight. It required all my concentration to maintain the pose, but I could do it. No tears. Neeva immediately started me on an extensive PT program at home and at her office, which I follow religiously. On the days when scheduling doesn't work out, I see Todd instead of Neeva, who is just as awesome. I adore that both of them are willing to work with my goals (weight loss, increased strength, as much physical activity as possible) and let me push myself. But when I want to go too far, they are the first to advise caution, and I've learned that listening to their advice always yields excellent results. Despite no longer being able to run and lift heavy weights, I've lost over 30 pounds since working with them. Besides Neeva and Todd, everyone I have interacted with at Peak Performance has been professional, effective, and easy to talk to. I do about half of my exercises with Jerome and Monique (the other half with Neeva), and I enjoy working with them just as much. No one ever *wants* to go to physical therapy. But Neeva and Todd are such wonderful, kind, and talented physical therapists that you sort of do want to go! I actually look forward to seeing them every week! And when I'm in their office, I get a very strong impression that the other patients feel similarly. This means something, when you remember that everyone there is experiencing some form of physical pain. I suspect that in addition to the role of physical therapist, Neeva and Todd also end up playing mental therapist. There have been so many times when I was afraid I would never get better, and the pain would genuinely scare me, but Neeva was easily able to calm me, and make me laugh. I hope she knows how much I have appreciated and relied upon her kindness; I'm not sure it's even possible for me to thank her enough. Really, it's been a joy being Neeva's patient. If you ever need physical therapy, go to Neeva. She listens to you when you describe the pain, and actively helps you fight it. She took one look at my back and correctly guessed the underlying medical problem months before a MRI procedure correctly bore out her prediction. I trust her more than any one else. They are da bomb! Bear with me for this might be a long review. This is my first ever Yelp review and they deserve every kudos I am about to give. Background: I have had two previous injuries - ankle in 2013 (workers' comp) and knee in 2017. Both times, I was referred to (other) PTs and I had horrible experiences. They did nothing to improve my situation and in fact, after my knee injury last year and the subsequent PT, I started fearing PT and how much worse off I could be because of the way they handled my knee. PPPT: Cue in this year March/April, unbearable pain in my neck and my doctor suggested PT. I was petrified. I did not want to risk it with some PT that would make matters worse. I looked up PPPT and their glorious Yelp reviews and I took the plunge. And I did not regret it one bit! Front office: The facility is clean, welcoming. They have an efficient system of checking in and the front office staff is amazing! Well organized! Carolina took amazing care of me as I worked with her most of the time but had great experience with Monique and Amanda as well :) PT Support Staff: The PT support staff is pleasant and happy and work seamlessly among themselves as they manage the workload and the number of patients. You never have to wait for an apparatus or a room and it's a great experience. They are knowledgeable and work with you and your limitations and are always courteous and respectful. None of them ever seem to be in a hurry to run away to do anything else. They are attentive and make you feel special and welcome. They make sure you are working with correct form and will spend time with you as needed. Ivy, Kristina, and D worked with me mostly and were outstanding! PT: Neva did my initial evaluation and from there on, I knew I was in safe hands. She listened carefully and asked many questions and tried out conservative treatment to begin with. Dipali worked on me for the most part and was just magical! Both Neva and Dipali made me feel at home and safe and truly cared for. Dipali started conservative, explained to me that they were working on strengthening my shoulder and upper back so they would support my neck better. She was every bit the professional, the expert and gave me a ton of tips to manage my situation, pain, etc. So much so that today I "graduated" and am without medication after working with them for under two months. Bottomline: I am grateful for this transformational experience and more importantly restoring my faith in physical therapy. I am very excited to write this review for Peak Performance and its staff, because that's how I found them. I came here with tendinitis from prolonged use of mouse (wrist, forearm, shoulder and neck pain). I wasn't able to turn a door knob and was in pain even when I was not moving. My doctor referred me to do 12 sessions of physical therapy. I was a little skeptical at first because I had been to chiropractors and acupuncturist, but not physical therapist. I thought it would be a waste of my time, but I was wrong. My visits to Peak Performance turned out to be a life changing experience for me. Not only I am all good and running again, but Alan and his team helped me to avoid muscle strain in the long run. I had my initial assessment with Neeva and all my other physical therapies sessions with Alan. Alan showed genuine care and was very patient to my concerns. We focused on different areas to pinpoint the main cause. All exercises and treatments were effective. They had a big gym area for all treatments and exercises. I liked the vibe and felt comfortable there. I saw patients from easy to hard-to-treat and young to elderly. They accommodated everyone well and showed great knowledge. Sam, Stephanie, Tiffany and Pam (sorry, if I get your names wrong) were SUPER sweet and made my time there enjoyable. (I hope they will become a PT very soon! :D) Monique at the front desk was also very friendly and helpful. I made all appointments ahead of time easily. She was also knowledgeable on insurance plans and details. I love everyone I met at Peak Performance. Now I have a good posture, and I know how to strengthen my back muscle to support a good posture on my own. I can go back to my life being a workaholic but with a good body and mind. If you need physical therapy this is the place to go. I was in a very serious mt. bike accident which resulted in a reverse shoulder replacement and loss of most of the rotator cuff muscles. My surgeon discussed with me the limitations of movement that I would have but with the help of Todd and the crew at Peak Performance we have exceeded those expectations. (I do triathlons and was advise I would not be able to swim due to the limited rotation of the shoulder but am now swimming freestyle and back stroke) Every aspect of treatment, from the moment you enter the door, and are guided through an individualized treatment plan, is done with positive and personal action. Everyone from the front desk (Fatima and Sylvia), the assistants (Monique to name one) and all the therapist (Todd, Neeva and Alan) are as concerned about your emotional and spiritual presence as they are about the physical injury which they are addressing. A positive attitude is an important aspect of healing. I can always count on getting what I need from working on the small details of physical rehab to helping me through those difficult mental moments. Being here is like being with family who care about me. I know what ever challenge we encounter they will be right there with me to work it out. The program at the facility is enhanced by an at home routine of exercising which is developed for each patient. As I progress the program changes to take me to the next level of rehab. I never feel like I am left at any stage of healing without a forward looking plan to advance my strength and range of motion. I can not say enough about this facility. The personnel at Peak Performance Physical Therapy (PPPT) are top notch, very knowledgeable, and the friendliest I have ever experienced. Because of my previous injuries I have a good idea what to expect from a professional establishment in this field and have been to a few others. PPPT is a smaller facility that caters to the individual utilizing four certified therapists and several assistants to help their patients. The administrative staff is usually where establishments fail in customer service. Not so with PPPT. Their staff is pleasant and helpful across the board. The most important aspect of PPPT is their ability to help their patients. I have many conversations with their patients and all are extremely happy with the outcome of their experience. I personally have been rehabbed after a hip replacement and now a full knee replacement at this establishment. I can attest to their ability to enable me to progress further, faster, and with greater success. I am so happy I can still play with my 7 year-old boy. PPPT staff even provides for their patients above and beyond the scope of the original reason a patient is seeking their services. I have had several days that I needed other treatment not related to my knee or hip. The staff was more than willing to accommodate my needs. I also have witnessed the staff helping other in similar fashion. Overall, the primary concern of PPPT is the wellbeing of their patients who all the staff knows on a first name basis. Well I am finally at that age! What age is that you ask? The age when two months ago I bent forward to tie my shoe and my back locked up preventing me from standing up straight. Two days later when I could finally walk I saw my Palo Alto medical foundation doctor. He said I needed physical therapy. I asked him where I should go. He said, "Your insurance allows you to go where ever you want, but I would recommend Peak Performance Physical Therapy. This is the one place that I get consistently good feedback about." I am grateful for his recommendation. When I walked in I was still in a lot of pain and all crooked and leaning to the left. The front office ladies were so pleasant and helpful in helping me understand my insurance benefits. Then I was greeted with a smile and handshake by Todd my physical therapist. As we made our way back to the evaluation room I walked through a gauntlet of smiles and "hello's" from the other staff members. There was a very good vibe in the clinic and I had a good feeling that I was in a healing place. By the end of my evaluation with Todd I had a very good understanding of my problem and a clear plan for how we were going to get me back on my feet. Eventually "graduation day" finally came. I left the clinic that day to handshakes and high fives and comments like "you did a great job", "don't be a stranger" and "please stop by and say hi whenever you a in the area". I am pleased to say that I am back to 100% (although I do mostly wear loafers now :) So if you are injured and need a place to help you heal, I don't think you will find a better place to do that than Peak Performance Physical Therapy. read more

Thank you, Peak Performance Physical Therapy! After twelve sessions (over 1.5 months), I was well on my way to a full recovery following left ankle arthrotomy. My first appointment was one-month following the surgical procedure, which included two-weeks on crutches and two-weeks in a walking boot. By that time, my leg had atrophied and the ankle joint still had inflammation and stiffness. But, by the last appointment, I had completely regained my strength and mobility. The enthusiasm, energy, and warmth of the staff was immediate. Following an initial assessment by Jerome, the remainder of my sessions were managed by Alan, Jason, Alex, Christina, and Carolyn. I explained that I still experienced symptoms of a prior ankle injury (unrelated to the surgery) and Alan happily incorporated treatment to target the injury. The team was very effective in evaluating my progress and adjusting the treatment plan to continually challenge me to do better and work harder. They always acted professionally and knowledgeably, and always made the atmosphere fun and enjoyable. Her friendly voicemail reminders make it easy to remember your appointments. As a sufferer of upper back pain, I have received professional treatment that is beyond any I could have expected. After my first session with physical therapist Alan, my pain level was already significantly declining. After three sessions, my pain level was at a much closer to pre-injury level. I am constantly impressed by the muscular skeletal knowledge level exhibited by Alan and the other committed staff members, such as Jason, Christina and others. In addition to my back injury, I also suffer from a carpal tunnel-type syndrome that both Neeva and Alan are smartly treating. As a long-time endurance and 'action sports' athlete I've had many opportunities to need PT, either to rehab an acute injury or tune up chronic aches from wear and tear. I can't remember how I found Peak Performance, but after rehabbing 4 injuries with them (3 arm/shoulder, 1 knee) I can say they're one of the best out there. They treat the injury using a combination of modern and classic techniques, while also enabling you to improve your resistance to future injuries by teaching you exercises and other measures that will address the weaknesses that often lead to overuse injuries. Most importantly, they understand the mentality of athletes, for whom the top priority is to get back to the activity they love. The owners and staff are friendly and professional, including the front-office staff who work hard to help find appointments around a busy schedule. I always hope I don't need to see them again, but I feel some measure of comfort knowing that the next time I have an injury I'll be able to turn to Peak Performance to help me get back in the saddle. read more

After knee surgery I was sent to PT to improve my overall movement. I was greeted with competent staff members who guided me though my exercises. While Alan has been my primary therapist, Todd and Katie were very knowledgeable and helpful with my routine. Each therapist added to my recovery with their own expertise. I injured my rotators cuff power lifting and being the macho man i am figured i'd just give it some time to heal on its own (2 months later the injury worsened). A specialist reccomended Peak Perfomance (Fremont, CA) for Therapy and i tried it for a several weeks (missed appointments with a less than enthusiastic approach to my rehab yielded very little results). A follow up with the specialist suggested several more weeks (this time i made all appointments, got serious about recovering, followed all the staffs instructions - including my "homework" and now i am already back playing league softball). The staff there is not only knowledgeable and friendly but very entertaining (for every 50 min visit, i spent at least 30 mins laughing while undergoing therapy). My wife had a treatment for shoulder impingement and she recommended this place for my knee problem. Jason did a several test on my knee to find out current level of mobility and strength of the knee then designed the program to fix the issue. Entire crew is very knowledgeable and ready to listen for complaints and adjust the program to fix my issue. They make sure I am following correct posture while doing exercises and they explains the benefit of the exercises. During this covid-19 situation, the online sessions we had was very useful. Jason comeup with a plan in excel sheet and explains what we are going to do for the day and demonstrate through video call each and every exercises. I am in the process of going to physical therapy for my shoulder. I go to Peak Performance which is really close by. Having had PT previously I was skeptical as I found they really did not do much. Just have you come in and exercise. Peak Performance has been amazing. I get hands on help with everything! Ultrasound, heat and electro therapy is done at every visit. I also get corrected by everyone about my terrible posture (LOL). They are a small place, but all the aides are excellent and professional. I had inquired about them and found that Peak Performance only hired those planning to be physical therapists or those majoring in kenisiology. The business is owed and staffed by husband and wife therapists. I can not say enough about them. I have been going since October when I had surgery and they are amazing!!!!!! read more

Came here to rehab my knee after an ACL surgery. The front (lobby) staff are very friendly and helpful, was able to booked the time and dates that best suited my schedule. My therapist is Dr. Dipali, she first did an evaluation and came up with a workout plan for me. Dipali will push me and know when to take it easy so that you don't put too much strain on my knee. I have to say she did a wonderful job on my knee. I could tell that my knee is getting stronger and stronger with each session, even my doctor is surprised at how well I'm doing so far. In general, this whole facility is great, from the people at the lobby (Monique and company) to the therapists (Dipali, Jerome and Alan) and their assistants (Jordan, Tatiana, Jolene, Pam). Words fall short to describe how I got benefitted from this place. Specially there is one person Todd, who is miraculous and who knows with his deep experience whats wrong with your body. I would say more than what doctors know. I struggeled for three months for a tingling in my left arm. Going to all doctors and taking all the photos, MRI,XRAY and what not. The doctors are dumb enough to understand the problem. It seems they only want your insurence card and copay. Finally I came here..The first visit some tricky streaching, good technical explanation of what is causing the problem, ultrasound and .. I was feeling better in evening. I just finished receiving my PT treatment at Peak Performance. I have been a patient here for the last 3 months-ever since suffering a hairline fracture on my 5th metatarsal over the summer. My experience at Peak Performance has been fantastic! The staff, therapists, and physical therapy assistants are really knowledgeable and caring. They really want to see their patients recover and go back to life as usual. Todd and Jerome were both so kind and patient in teaching me the exercises and in answering all of my questions. Been to PT many different times for numerous rehabs for back, shoulder, knee, foot, etc. and seen various groups. This place is a perfect combination of professional care and caring professionals. Everyone from Fatima, Jerome, Monique, Alan, and Todd....from front desk to PT assistants to the head haunchos are all friendly, knowledgeable, and great at what they do. No one looks forward to going to PT but they make it at least a fun experience and are able to push you without overdoing it. I was so glad that I had my physical therapy treatments at PPPT after my car accident in November 2017. I had severe pain from my neck to lower back at that time, After the first treatment from Neeva, I knew I had found the right place! I had PT and chiropractic treatments before and they were not as good as PPPT. (They only wanted to get more money, not my health). Both Neeva and Dipali are very personal and professional. They are very caring and skillful to help me to improve my health condition and have taught me exercises to do at home, too. I am glad I choose this place for the pain on my neck and and left arm for about 15 sessions. All of them from the receptionist (Amanda and Carolina) to the therapists (Todd, Neeva and my regular Dipali ) and the Aids (Christine, Marco, Ivy) are all very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They are very organize and efficient, you don't have to wait to long to call in and the aids work together to make sure you are not idle during you exercise.
