In…read more2023/2024 I found the dog resort extremely helpful as a day time dog sitter for 4-6 hrs at a time. My dog didn't seem to mind it and always came back calmer so I decided to leave him here for 9 days while I went away for a trip. I don't recall the exact costs. Probably between 900-1100 dollars for daily walks and his home provided food. I asked the employees to put on his sweater at night. It wasn't a question it was a very important task they agreed to. He was a very small 8 pound yorkie and was always cold. When I came back my dog was not his normal self. That already made me highly suspicious about getting his walks. He was coughing a lot, not sleeping but also lethargic. I took him to the vet and he had pneumonia. Meaning, he was cold from day 1 and got worse for the remainder of his stay and I never got a call from here. From there he got sicker and sicker and I had to put him down. I was devastated and desperate to get him back to normal for months! I recommend people never leave their dogs in places like this. Sure you save money and they may or may not have company (depending on their personality) but you're better off vetting a dog sitter to check in or stay with your dog at home. In the end you may save yourself an onslaught of vet bills from trying to figure what is making your dog so ill when back from a trip. At least with an in home dog sitter they're more like to stay alive and healthy. If you have a small dog with specific needs get someone who can cater to your dog with love and care. I highly suggest NEVER leaving your dog for overnight or extended stays. I hate that it took me so long to post this but my grief was too strong to do it before. I wanted to sue, I wanted my money back, but I was so sad and I couldn't bring myself to do much other than focus on him and move on with my life. I'll never get another dog after this experience.

This update is a bit overdue (this happened last year in April of 2025), but it's been a very tough…read moretime. The first couple times we used Sitter4Paws we had a really great experience with the sitters that were assigned to our senior, diabetic cat. Last year, my mother unexpectedly passed away, and our regular cat sitter was unavailable for half of the trip home. We booked Sitter4Paws the second half of the trip, and let them know about the circumstances and requested sitters that had seen Jodie before so that we could rest easy during a very difficult time. Of course we know that can't always be accommodated due to scheduling, so for the first visit a new sitter came to see Jodie. On the evening of my mother's passing, we got a text from Sitter4Paws that the sitter felt he may have made a mistake with our cat's insulin dosage. It was revealed to us that instead of giving her her normal 2.25 unit dose, he gave her 22.5 units - ignoring the taped off/labeled syringes, our explicit written instructions in the app, and additional photos/diagrams of what a full syringe should look like. Thank god he realized his mistake, otherwise our cat would have slowly died alone in our apartment - and this would have happened immediately after losing my mom. I understand mistakes can happen, but the fact that a sitter was uncertain with potentially life-threatening medication if administered improperly and didn't even think to reach out to us first was quite shocking. Sitter4Paws took full responsibility, admitted their mistake, said they would take steps to make sure something like this would never happen again, and covered her 4 day ER stay, but it never should have gotten to that point. Again - we did have great sitters who took care of our cat wonderfully - but the uncertainty of who you can get especially with medication involved means that we can no longer recommend this service with confidence.

Here's why Tiffany is so special: 1. She is uber-professional. Like, have-a-personal-meeting-take-detailed-notes-put-everything-in-writing-licensed-and-insured-professional. This is not your friend's college kid home for the holidays. Tiffany takes time to understand what you want and need, communicate how things will work, and anticipate information she will need while you are away so she rarely needs to bother you while you are out of town. And at the same time, she is observant and has a TON of experience in this field. So if she notices something wrong, or even just something that might require your attention or a change in the way she is looking after your pet, she WILL reach out to you and keep you in the loop. 2. She is in constant contact. We received multiple photos, videos, and updates on every visit by text. No refreshing email frantically or wondering when she will be over and if your pet is ok. She updates when she is on her way, when she has arrived, and sends such adorable pics. It gave such peace of mind to see George so happy with her. Which brings me to... 3. Tiffany loves animals and she truly understands animals. She took time to approach George on his level, and to get to know his personality and play style. I hired the valley pet sitters to come for an extra day and came home a day later thinking my cats had at least clean glasses of water and extended my trip. I also left a handwritten note by the glasses of Water saying please do two fresh glasses each time of fridge water. When I got home, there was only two glasses used and both were full of slimy bacteria filled water because they were not cleaned or changed out for over a week. I would not have stayed an extra day if I ever thought for a second the note wouldn't have been read or the notes online that say use two fresh glasses that are in a pile of fresh clean glasses right by the fridge. even if I did not leave the note, why would anyone ever think cats would drink slimy bacteria infested water they would choose toilet water over a dirty bowl of water. You should always change the dry food bowls before we're feeling and the dishes of water rinsing is not even good enough, but everyone that knows Cats knows this. You're a bad caretaker for cats. If you give them water in any dirty dish, that's disgusting and rude.
